I haven't been here in about 7 years, But I have to say they had the best Fish N' Chips I've ever had in my LIFE. It has raised the bar so high that I can't seem to find anything close to this Great Fish N' Chips! The onion rings were pretty damn good too. You would get the whole fish deep fired, beer battered, white fish w/ fries or onion rings, tater sauce, Cole slaw and Lemon if you asked. The smell was intoxicating mmmmmmmmm. I think the cook or something has changed because my parents said the fish hasn't been as good and the fries change, price went up also. Well, I haven't been back because I'm living on the west coast now, but i dream about the Fish N Chips I use to enjoy. PIZZA? Oh I was so addicted to the fish n' chips i never ate anything else, My bad!

Excellent food, portion sizes and service. I always get something off the specials menu and I'm satisfied every time. My most recent experience consisted of a chicken bacon ranch quesadilla which was very tasty. My boyfriend enjoyed a massive bbq cheddar burger which included french fries, hot and fresh, seasoned perfectly. Bartender was nice and quick with refilling our beers which was a plus. Been here before on numerous occasions and enjoyed their pizzas as well as other menu items. Had the lobster bisque when it was on the specials board and it was quite frankly the best I had ever had. Small place with a lot to offer and I will be back again for sure.

The Western is a hole in the wall restaurant where you'll find your typical pub food menu. The parking situation isn't the best, but you can parallel park out front or there's a small lot. The owners are very friendly and I like that they try to make it a point to speak with their guests. My parents love the chowder and clam cakes. Oddly enough, I've never tried the pizza! Usually I order the fish and chips or a sandwich with the calamari appetizer. Everything is always fresh and tasty. I do think it's a little overpriced but it's a stop that my family always makes on our annual Rhode Island visit, so I guess that means it's worth it.

Townie dive bar (yup two glorious adjectives)... The lady friend suggested we try an old dive from her hometown. I was under impressed. Food - Had a steak tip sandwich and fries. The sandwich was rather bland and didn't seem too fresh. The fries were soggy and tasted like old oil. Drink - Good selection of beers on draft. No complaints there. Service - Served by the bartender. Interesting fellow who was as about as tall as an oak and just as much a conversationalist. Met the owner who seemed to be confused if he was Warren Buffett or a local hero; regardless he enjoyed self gratifying banter. Price - Mehhhhhhh. Not exactly a bargain. IMHO waaaaay to much green for a local dive. Even the Dumpling Man in the East Village was cheaper. Just sayin' Conclusion - Wouldn't go back by choice, and would put this on your "wouldn't go there unless I was starving and there was a natural disaster" list.

My parents frequent The Western often. So, one Friday night in January my In-laws, my wife and myself met up with them there. Now earlier I did call to make reservations, but it is a small place and it is usually first come first serve, but because we were a party of 6 and knew what time we would be there they "kind-of" held a table for us. I did talk to the owner and then met him at the hotel, awesome guy. Food was a typical pub grub and pizza. I had the baked fish that was great. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and, yes, we will be going there again. ... Hopefully next time I can get one of their cool t-shirts next time... wink wink nudge nudge. Go have a good time and told them Henry sent you. The only BAD thing is that the bar had a lot of Yankees' stuff in it. Not a good thing to have in Red Sox Nation.

This is a place where "everybody knows your name"... that is if you by the slighest chance happen to be from a small northwestern Rhode Island town called Burrillville. For more than 20 years, the Western Hotel (not to be confused with the Westin Hotel in Providence) has been owned and operated by the Mottola family. Most days one of the family members can be found working or just hanging out. Its cozy dining room offers customers a comfortable experience complete with tastey food and extra-friendly service. There is also a separate bar, which provides chummy service. Even if you aren't from the neighborhood, the staff truly wants to know who you are & what kind of interesting story brought you to them- b/c nobody ever really just happens to come along to the restaurant! In my mind they have the BEST pizza ever. With tons of toppings & a crust that is thick but not overwhelming, I often find myself craving this delicious meal! Anytime I head home, I am always sure to stop in for a visit!

My parents really enjoy coming here for the chowder and clamcakes. I have been a handful of times and although service is sometimes on the slow side I havent ever had a bad meal... Ive also never had a "oh my god this is so good I have to eat it every day" meal. Although... I did get fried oreos from here once, yum yum!

The prices are decent not astronomical. The menu has an American food selection. We went for dinner and the restaurant was pretty busy. We had to stand and wait for about ten minutes and the couple behind us had the same waiting period. The food was good not great. I tried out the spinach calzone it was not the most flavorful I have had but nothing to complain about. I would try it out again and see if it was just a bad item to order.
