What a hidden, and I literally mean hidden gem! Driving back to CT from RI...didn't run into very much for a while and decided to stop here, skeptic glasses fully on. Walked in on a Sunday afternoon, not busy, but not empty. Welcomed warmly. First glance through the menu, prices are more than reasonable, they're cheap! Standard breakfast fare; above average on portions and taste I would say. I wish I had tried the biscuits and gravy, it looked delicious. If it weren't so far, I'd be back often. TRY IT OUT!

I've been here on 2 occasions and it's a great country diner. I've had breakfast here both times and should probably come here more often.

The parking lot had a rooster walking around, confirming that we really were in the middle of nowhere. The prices were reasonable, and the food was so-so. There isn't much else to say. Considering its location, The Middle of Nowhere diner is probably the best place for breakfast in the area, but that doesn't mean it's that good. I like my home fries crispier than they were cooked, and overall I wasn't impressed with the food.

I'm relocating from California to Rhode Island and this place was recommended by the seller of the house I'm buying. He lives locally and says this is the place to come to for great food and great prices. He was not lying. I thoroughly enjoyed my first meal and plan on coming a lot One of the hostesses, Tessa, was so nice in giving me tips on living in Rhode Island. I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite places. Great food, quaint ambience, and great staff.

Busy, busy place on a Sunday morning. Efficient waitstaff, a bit confusing, rock solid breakfasts...try the beans!!! Hot and good. Yum. Must bring GF bread and your vegan creamer....next time. Well worth the trip for breakfast..... Especially for a date. What a romantic diner name!

Heard a lot about this place for years good food and big portions. Finally made out here to eat and I wasn't blown away. Food was average as was the portions. Wouldn't recommend driving there but if your passing by its worth a stop if your hungry and really isn't to much else around. Staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable.

It's very rare to find a place that serves as much food as this place for cheap. The food is awesome and service is nice. A 12 oz rib-eye and three eggs for 8.95? Yes please. it's a drive but well worth it. I'd suggest this place to pretty much anyone down for a good meal and scenic calm environment. Sometimes there can be some fisherman so it can smell a little bit, but to each their own.

This place is awesome. It wasn't crowded when we went and the people were so pleasant when we walked in and the entire time we were at the diner. The food was great. I've never had better eggs and that butter was INCREDIBLE. This place is definitely worth the stop in and I would definitely come back in a heartbeat.

One of my favorite haunts. Good I'd always good and process fairly. It's my go to place when I want a quick place to go to. They have breakfast all day, every day, except Friday. They have fish and chips that are really good, and if course my favorite the gyro.

I admit it....I love this place. Food is good, variety offeted, and perfect service. Lunch of calm chowder....with tons of clams...a grill cheese sandwich...under 6 dollaes. Delicious. I.have had fried clams here, turkey club sanswiches....all delicious. And breakfast....amazing. yep, live this place.

A small place right off 95 on our way to N Jersey. We sat at a tiny table but in front of the TVs. Waitress was friendly. Affordable menu. Had eggs, fries, toast. Bf had steak and eggs which they cooked just right. Nothing fancy or spectacular in this place though it feels homey. In the summer, there's the ice cream shop next door.

Solid diner food and great service. Great place to stop if you have a dog as there's a place to eat outside, or you can tie your pup out back and get a booth where you can easily keep an eye on fido. The creamery next door has a cone especially for dogs.

Love this place!!!! Came from Newport, couldn't find anywhere to park.. Stumbled on this place, plenty of parking, sat down right away and got our food quick. The food is great!!!!! The egg benedict was wonderful, great hollandaise sauce.. Got a side for my omelet too... Service is friendly and quick.

A friend of mine end up taking me for my early birthday dinner, this has been my first time going, I ordered the clam strip dinner and it was delicious with huge portions I will be going back again as I really enjoyed it. The clams tasted fresh and non-greasy, I had a nice lady waitress that served us, come to find out that she knows my friend, she was very polite and we received our food very quick as well

Stopped by this place for a quick breakfast today on my way home from Foxwoods. I saw the good ratings and decided to stop. First of all, it's the cheapest breakfast I have ever had which would I would normally associate with mediocre food. But I was wrong, I ordered an egg and cheese on a grilled english muffin and a side of home fries. The egg and cheese was cooked perfectly (although hard to screw up) and I loved the home fries, a good portion with grilled onions. Joe got a big bowl of fruit and I also got an iced coffee. The total bill came out to 10.80. Pretty crazy! the service was beyond fast and the staff was great. Not a bad thing to say about this place!! Could become my favorite hangover pitstop after a night of gambling.

Decent place for a quick non fuss breakfast. Casual homey-feel diner in the middle of nowhere! Prices are fine for what you get. Glad my large juice was actually large. It's fine, but with so many restaurants wouldn't necessarily come back.

I went here last night. I've always loved the diner but recently it just isn't the same. Someone said there was new ownership. But the food is still cheap and good, just not as good as I remember. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price this is your place.

Once again this never fails me for a Great Breakfast. Was there today with a couple of friends had the home made sausage as always it was great.

Just like the name says. Perfect if you are going to the auction down the road. Comfort food at its best, healthy portions for short money. One of RI's hidden gems.

  • Antares S.

If you're looking for good comfort food at a reasonable price then you can't go wrong here. They are fast and the service is very good for a diner atmosphere.

Wow! We were staying in nearby West Greenwich, and came here based on Yelp reviews, and they were right on the money. While the aesthetics leave something to be desired, the food, prices, and staff were amazing! They have a half pound burger for $3.85. $3.85! The food looks and tastes homemade, not like a typical restaurant plate. They don't serve alcohol, which was different but endearing, and they had plenty of table space. Their kids' spaghetti plate was gigantic, but my five year-old insisting on eating all of it because it was so good. I had a chicken pasta plate with mozz. sticks and my wife had a salad. If we were local, we'd eat here all the time.

Hands down the best diner breakfast I have had in Rhode Island to date. When we walked in, I could hear roosters crowing from the other side of the parking lot, and suddenly 'farm fresh eggs' was seeming a whole lot more credible. The menu was just slightly more creative than your average 2-eggs-toast-and-homefries joint (read: strawberries and cream pancakes), and the portions were ENORMOUS. I am pretty sure that even the jolly green giant would leave here stuffed. The service was friendly and prompt, and my coffee was never left waiting to be refilled. It's a little old, a little rough around the edges, but it's called Middle of Nowhere. No one is expecting a five star ambiance (although the Route 66 signs and trucker decorations definitely made me smile). They didn't name the place Middle of Nowhere ironically - it's a good deal farther away than I would be able to afford to drive just to eat. However, if you're anywhere near the area, you will not be disappointed.

Everytime we arrive and step out of our car a rooster cockadoodledo's nearby. A true middle-of-nowhere kind of greeting! The clam strips I had there last night were really and truly the very best I'd ever had. So fresh and perfectly done. Not a bit heavy or over-filling as can so often be the case with fried clams. This is a super friendly place with yummy food. Get thee to the middle of nowhere!

I have been dropping off at this hidden treasure for years. On the endless and predictable drag down I -95 from the Cape back to Connecticut, one day I took a flyer off the interstate and saw this place in my rear view mirror- I almost missed it. Their breakfasts are worthy of any diners credentials. Lots of good eggs and hash browns made with good Rhode Island potatoes. Pancakes to die for, and helpings to match. Well made coffee, which seems to be a lost art. Fantastic lunchs, well made sammiches and soups, The two types of clam chowder well worth it. Try the Rhode Island Style-if you never tried it, you are in for a treat. Dinners, well you are in for a feast! If you are lucky enough to be around when they serve the fish and chip special, go for it. Thick and steamy when you break it apart, all it needs is a dash of the malt vinigar,(right there on the table), to bring you to a special place. Thick cut fries, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, are served along with the fish.My son relishes the chicken Parm platter, so big he invariable falls asleep on the way home. My Daughter loves The spagetti and meat balls with the garlic bread. She doesn't get close to finishing. Another good sign is the astonishing size of some of the people who eat here. The Middle of nowhere must serve some of the fattest people in Rhode Island. Top that off with a charminly local waitstaff and genuine value, and you got a reason to come here from anywhere. Oh, and if you think you are hearing things, like a rooster crowing, your not. They have their own version or free range chickens, not suprizinly Rhode Island Reds. They live out back, so be carefull parking.

Found this awesome place on our nowhere journey from Foxwoods to RI for the day..... One of the best breakfasts we've had in ages.... Homemade sausage patties were to die for. This place is the reason I love yelp. Before yelp and all the helpful reviews, I would not have ever walked in the front door of this place because it doesn't look like much on the outside----and that would have been my great loss!!!! So thanks other yelpers! Anyone looking for a great meal-come here!!!!

We strolled in here early morning for a quick bite and with a name like Middle of Nowhere Diner, we didn't have a whole lot of expectations. I suppose that's why it was such a pleasant surprise. Eggs Benedict fans, you can't go wrong with them here. My Eggs Florentine Benedict was delicately cooked and the eggs were perfectly gooey to sop with the English muffin it was served with. And the hash browns were ohhh so crispy and satisfying. It was everything I needed to start my long 9 mile run. The servers were friendly and my coffee cup was never more than halfway empty. Come in. You won't be sorry!

I come very very close to giving this a 5 star review. Stopped in on the way to the Cape and in an area of the trip I rarely stop we did and found a great breakfast. The simple A1 3 egg special with toast at 1.99 was prepared perfectly... eggs scrambled without any over cooking and still moist and tender, toast well the forgot 1 slice but they noticed it and fixed before I could notice. Added a side of apples, and the waitress changed my order to include the apples and added an extra egg which saved me a couple of dollars. I know I have a new place to look forward to stopping at out in the middle of little Rhode Island.

Was hoping for a better experience. It was good but nothing special. The best thing is the home fries. The toast came soaked in nasty margarine. At least use butter I haven't tasted that stuff since I was a kid. The omelet over cooked. Two of my pet peeves toast that is soggy and over cooked eggs. What did those poor eggs do to you and why is the cook mad at them. They should be light and fluffy. Not dry and brown

9/4/2015 My best friend and I are both 72 years old and native Rhode Islanders. We have long loved Middle of Nowhere Diner as a place where we can find local specialties such as clam cakes. So today he ordered a cup of clear broth clam chowder along with fish and chips. I ordered a bowl. However, his cup came first, and he warned me that it was sub par. So I changed my order to a cup; after a few spoonfuls I sent it back. The liquid was watery and devoid of the authentic quahog taste and salt pork piquancy. Worst of all, I only detected one small piece of clam. The potatoes were hard and grossly undercooked. VERY DISAPPOINTING. As for the fish and chips, the latter were soggy, greasy, and not crisp. I am giving this review only one star. At least the fish tasted like good cod. In short, I hope that our bad experience will not be the new normal at Middle of Nowhere. By the way, the service was quick and efficient.

The words "typical diner" should not be used for this place. Went there finally for the first time a few months ago and I regret not going there for the years I have known about it. HUGE portions and the breakfast menu is built so you can "build a breakfast" without it coming to an insane amount of money. Coffee is always filled, service is GREAT and the prices are so cheap, I feel like I'm stealing!

The Middle of Nowhere is suitably named, located far from any of the major towns in South County on Rte. 3 not far from Rte 95. Food at this establishment is served in portions that go beyond generous. Four egg omelets are the norm. My personal favorite is made with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and thinly sliced turkey. Served with home fries or a fresh fruit salad and a cup of excellent coffee that was kept filled for the duration of my meal. Waitresses are friendly, and the site has two entrances both of which can accommodate a wheelchair. Food here is a solid meal that would leave a burly truck driver sated. I noticed a large lumber truck outside when I arrived and a small collection of pickup trucks and flannel shirts on my entrance. Family fare is a powerful draw and I often see groups of children crowded into the booths arguing over who has to share their waffles. If you come here in summer be sure to leave room for ice cream at the appropriately named Next to Nowhere Ice Cream Shack - a giant barn structure that deserves it's own review. However, if you don't feel like ice cream, or it's the wrong time of year, don't pass up the opportunity to try some of the delicious desserts that are available after your meal... if you can find the room. The Middle of Nowhere may be hard to find, but it's worth looking for.

Some diners are just diners. Static menu, afterthought specials, grumpy waitresses, mediocre food, acceptable prices. Take all of those things, turn them into resounding positives, and you've got the Middle of Nowhere Diner. Exciting menu, tempting specials, very sweet waitresses, excellent food, solid prices. Biscuits with homemade sausage gravy? Come on, that's the best breakfast ever conceived. And the "Portuguese Omelet" with chorizo sausage... unique and spectacular. Both were specials, yet highly affordable. What a breakfast. Do keep in mind that it is a busy place on weekends - we felt lucky to be able to grab a table for two immediately upon entering. The bill was cheap, the experience was memorable. Best diner I've ever been to in the state of Rhode Island, that's for sure.

We discovered this place today after a long drive from Maine. This is truly home cooking in the tradition of my grandmother in Maine many years ago. Huge portions at low prices and great staff. Allow yourself 15 minutes to read the menu.

This is the kind of diner you WANT to find for breakfast. Seriously excellent, addictive home fries! Make sure to ask for them well done though, sometimes they come out a bit underdone (for my taste anyway!). Their 4-egg omelettes are an embarrassment of riches. Lots of meat options like kielbasa, chorico, as well as the usual goodies. I recently had the egg and homemade sausage patty platter. Well hello gorgeous! Yummy crunchy disks of seasoned pork perfection...what's not to love about THAT?! From the menu, I found out breakfast is served all-day except on Friday. Nice! Friendly servers, super fair prices, and great specials. I think I'm glad this place is a bit of drive for me...I could get into trouble here! You can eat outside, but you have to go in and order the food to go. oh yeah, like Greg said, this place won't win any design awards, it's a bit of a dive. I love it! Check out the packed interior, that tells you all you need to know!

Excellent diner, love it. Been going there for years, great service, great prices, great food, just a great place. I am very picky where I order fish & chips, middle of nowhere's fish & chips are the best around.

This is redneck dining at it's best. You'd probably drive right on by if you were judging by looks....but it'd be your loss. Everything we had was excellent, too much to finish and cheap. We hit the food trifecta.

Not bad. I wouldn't jump through hoops to eat here again. Typical diner stop on a divided highway. It seems to be a local yokel kinda joint, with many townies sitting and chatting. Food was okay--it was a bit on the bland side. What grabbed me was two of the waitstaff just standing behind the counter for the better part of ten minutes, chatting away. Neither of them seemed interested in taking our order. Interesting notes... Coffee went cold very quickly Omelet was very runny FOX News was playing on the only TV, loudly OJ was from a bottle, not squeezed I had hopes this would be a gem of an out of the way joint. In fact, my traveling companion and I both agreed on, "meh" as a good way to describe it. I'm sure the locals adore the place. We left full, but unimpressed.

Go to the dept of health's website and read their health code violations. I used to eat there until they got closed down. How many times I had a problem with a meal before I gave up on the place Some examples that really stand out; One was being served raw fried chicken and the other was wet, soggy French toast. I waited almost an hour for the toast and I sent the waitress back. She came over with a cold, wet stack of bread. She said the owner was training a new cook. I sent it back, waited a half hour. They came back with the same. She put it in front of me, said the owner made it for me himself, and tried to walk away. I held it up and it fell apart. I asked if their stove went out. I paid for my coffee and left. They must have added ten times the amount of milk to the eggs that they were supposed to because it didn't set up and brown. Either that or they didn't cook it near enough. The last thing I ordered there was a seafood platter. "Biggest in Rhode Island" the menu reads. I had it before. This time, it took a good hour to come out and it smelled so strongly of fish, I sent it back. I didn't even want to sit with it on front of me.

I love it here! The portions are huge, the prices are cheap, and the service is great. The drive is pretty far from me I'm on the Warwick line, so it's a good 25/30mins? But I'm more than willing to make the occasional trip. It's got a homey feel, and quality food. I can't say anything bad about them!

Typical diner, alot of locals, I got stared at a bit, being an asian from Boston, I certainly do not look like I belong there. But other than that, the waitstaff was nice and attentive. They have breakfast all day! Nuff said! But I got their eggplant parm which was really good, and their clear clam chowder. My friend got their house burger which he devoured, but I thought the fries were just okay. Next to it was an ice cream shoppe, which I found out sells doggie sundae. I think my dog enjoyed that thoroughly.

Stopped off here for a late breakfast on a Saturday morning in December. We sat at the counter since there were no free tables. This is basically your average, though delicious, greasy spoon diner. I got the eggs with toast, French toast, and home fries - the French toast was a little on the soggy side but so tasty that it was worth it. Home fries were seasoned so well that I ended up eating half of my husband's too. My husband got a home-made sausage patty (delicious!) with sausage gravy, and my nice got eggs Benedict. We all absolutely loved our meals and were scraping our plates clean. With the cheap prices and enormous portions, it almost seems as if they shouldn't make a profit. Will definitely come back here if we come back to RI!

Solid breakfast place. Not fancy or overpriced and service is great. Good coffee with many staffers making the rounds to ensure you have a full cup. Choice of sides - home fries, baked beans, baked apples (yum) or fruit cup - is a nice touch to mix it up when you're in a fruit mood rather than potatoes. And the baked apples on top of a slice of French toast = awesome.

Small hometown diner. They were very pleasant there, 4 college aged kids working. I can't say anything bad about the place other than it was a bit rickedy looking. The food was very good, out quick and the bill was extremely reasonable. $32 for 3 people to eat and 1 of us had steak and eggs, crazy right! Overall good experience!

I wanted home made comfort food, and ooo-boy I got it! I was sweaty and dirty from a wonderful long hike in Exeter and I didn't feel out of place. I don't equate five stars with gourmet. I gave it 5...because they deliver what they promise...it succeeded massively! I can see why it is packed. My man ordered a steak, eggs, and fries. (I asked him just now how he feels about going back to eat there, got a happy man grin.) I had a burger and fries....very, very tasty. I plan on hiking more, just so I can justify the caloric bomb. Staff is nice and quick. Drinks never ran dry. Nice gathering place before or after a hike.

Reasonable, delicious food. Exetensive menu, it would be best for breakfast. It was a little cramped and packed on a weekend morning, but the food was good. Waitress could have been friendlier to a "first timer" but the food more than made up for it.

This place was sought out after a long day of kayaking. Friends had said the portions were plentiful and the food was good. It's a diner so I naturally went for breakfast because it is my favorite meal after all. I was pleased to order french toast with bananas and strawberries which I was led to believe were fresh. The strawberries were barely thawed frozen ones that were mushy. After brushing them aside I was able to enjoy the fresh banana slices on the thick cut french toast. Additionally I enjoyed the home fries. They were delicious with just the right blend of spices. On a sidenote and completely surprisingly this place had some of the nicest bathrooms I had seen and usually at a diner you wouldn't expect that. I would recommend this place for basic breakfast and some of the dinner meals I saw but beware of the frozen mush berries.

My husband and I have been here many times. This morning may have been our last visit. Although we enjoy the food very much, we find that the service is terrible. This is the third time we have been unlucky enough to get the same server. She is rude and unprofessional. This morning she actually took my husbands plate while he was still eating. I mean he was litterly eating. Fork in hand. She just walked by and picked up his plate. Not worth our 45 minute drive to be treated so badly.

What a fantastic pit stop on the way from New York to Maine! Great food at great prices. We had brocoli and cheese omelets with particularly good home fries and a good grilled cheese. They serve Teltley tea, which is definitely a step up from the Lipton you usually see in diners.

A lot of food for a good price. For those that are worried about the health code violations in that past, I suggest you really read them and from other restaurants. Better yet, talk to someone who runs a diner/restaurant about how the health codes are constantly changing and how strict they are. Besides, I have read much worse violations (like rodent droppings and insect infestations) from other places than what was reported to the Middle of Nowhere Diner.

This place was totally in the middle of nowhere - if you see the business "next-to-nowhere", you've gone too far ;). Breakfast was so yummy - and cheap! Like $2 kinda cheap! I just wish it wasn't in the middle of nowhere... it's a sweet place

If Gallup did a poll on all the folks that have eaten at the Middle of Nowhere Diner over the past twenty years, there would be a common theme, that it is kind of in the middle of nowhere. It is definitely somewhere though. Located near some of Rhode Island's best scenery, I was always willing to take a long Sunday drive to this humble area. It has been over a decade since I had the pleasure of staring down at the ripples in my coffee while listening to my buddies piece together what happened the night before. On lawn mowing and hockey reffing wages, I enjoyed the quality of a good breakfast for a reasonable cost. Having never found a destination quite like it, the Middle of Nowhere Diner is almost a dream to me now. I can still picture my 89 Honda Accord Coupe gliding on RTE. 165, a live rendition of Divided Sky on the tape deck, and my hunger appeased as Beach Pond comes into view. These are the places I miss but these are the types of places I will always go back to with my car windows down and good friends by my side.

Went here 2 days ago. Breakfast was awesome and very cheap! Here on business for 2 weeks, just worked a 6-430am shift. Was looking forward to going here after work. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT (for Yelp..?) NOT OPEN 24/7. They had their Open flag out and all their lights were off, they were definitely closed. Only a 10 min drive from the Super 8 Hotel, but still upsetting. I'll for sure be going again while I'm here.

Just an old school, seat yourself dinner, right off of 95. This was the best breakfasts i had in a long time, and it's so cheap. We ordered so much food the waitress actually laughed at us. I went with the pancakes, 2 eggs, toast, home fries and a side of bacon. Everything was just perfect, the eggs were huge, and the home fries were some of the best i've ever had. I'm not huge on corned beef hash, but man was it good here. Basically everyone ordered that much food, and the bill came out to a little over $10 a person, ridiculously cheap. I was also introduced to coffee milk here, and can't stop thinking about it. I'm having my friend bring me a bottle next time he heads back home to rhode island.

The place certainly doesn't look like much but they have the best omelettes I've ever had. Actually I've never had a bad meal here. Portions are huge, the food is delicious and the prices can't be beat.

You sounded amazing, middle of nowhere diner... We drove all the way out to said middle of nowhere to see you, and when we got there, there was only a handwritten "Closed until further notice" sign on the door. So there we were, hungry, and in the middle of nowhere. Would love to try it, but how will we know if they're open?

Found this place by chance on the way back from Plymouth.... you can tell this is where the locals come, but the wait staff was still friendly to obvious "tourists". Had the whole belly clams- not greasy and you will not leave hungry! The white clam chowder what full of big chunks of clam and potato... most yummy. If I am back in that area again, will try to save some room and visit the Next to Nowhere icecream shop next door!

During the first cold snap of October 2012 I was in need of some fortifying food. Biscuits and gravy, that is what I wanted. Lots of places have biscuits and some sort of gravy concoction but I wanted gravy made from sausage that did not come off of a Sysco truck or Restaurant Depot store. I know they offer such things at the 'Middle' so into the cool morning air and to the south I went. I made it just in time for the early birds to leave and right before the pre-church crowd. Sure enough it was a special on the menu card. The waitress came and I put in my order. "Sorry hun' but we just ran out." I was bummed. So I did the next best thing and ordered thier pancakes. Now I have never been a fan of diner pancakes since Daniel left the original Nicks on Broadway lo these many years. But I needed real stick to the ribs food and hit the next best thing they had in that department. So the stack arrives and I start in on them. Surprise surprise they either modified a premix or they made the batter from scratch. Either way I was pleased with the density and flavor. Each bite was like eating a coffee cake slice but without the sugar rush. The total Goldie Locks package - just right. I also got a side of sausage to add that fibrous protein with salts and fat component that every morning meal seems to need. I left sated and ready for the day!

This is a fantastic old, creaky joint out in the middle of nowhere. The atmosphere is a eclectic with a smattering of diner, old restaurant, great grandmothers house... you get the picture. The service is pretty good, especially when the crowds are building up. They work fairly efficiently but yet keep the 'How you doing hun?' feel about them. The food is pretty good. The menu looks like it has been around for 20 years, so they have gotten pretty good at consistency. The portions are sizable. All of this is, as I have been told, traditional 'South County' fare. I am not sure I know what that means, but the food is still good. I must say that they do have fried chicken. Where I am from that would register a 'so what.' Here in the great state of Rhode Island, home of the Rhode Island Red, apparently it is an oven that gets the last say and not the deep fryer (my preference). Anyway, they give the good 'ol college try. So, if you are ever down south, and find your self wondering where and the heck you are and see this joint, please do stop in, you will be well rewarded. Oh, aside for the normal breakfast and lunch items, they have fairly good chowder.

  • William F.

Excellent food and service in a very comfortable environment- everything it takes to amount to a marvelous experience. I had a bowl of typical Rhode Island "clear" clam chowder, which I had never experienced before, and which was quite good along with a special including clam, fish and crab cakes. My companions had fried clams and a chicken breast with some variety of sauce- I was too busy eating to notice. Each portion was very large and yet the prices were reasonably moderate. Two persons can easily share the fried clams order. After dinner we went over to the little "Next to Nowhere Creamery" next door and enjoyed some "Maine Blueberry" ice cream, one of their 24 different flavors. They have a nice outside picnic area where you can sit and eat your ice cream on a warm summer evening. It was just like the olden days- very pleasant.

Eat the hash and you are in heaven for....I don't know how long but trust me you will know! For an incredible greasy spoon this place impresses with its quality specials and home-made soups made daily! Not to mention home fries all spiced up right every day. The clear chowder is classic Rhode Island. The Kilbassa breakfast sandwich, the best around. I eat, sing their praises, and then I think I cant keep doing this.

When they say 'extra large eggs', they mean EXTRA LARGE EGGS. A cute, simple, greasy spoon. Not so much in the actual middle of nowhere, but it can feel like it! We had breakfast here - 2 eggs (yes, they were very very large) easy over (perfectly done), with bacon (the extra thin crispy sort - yum!) and a cheesy-4-egg omelet, both complete with homefries (wonderfully seasoned!) and wheat toast. The coffee was nothing to write home about, but then again I tend to like stronger brews. Service was fast paced and efficient, like organized chaos. I'd go again.

Three words: OH MY GOSH!!!!! You will never get larger portions of good food ever on the East Coast for under $20. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would give it over 9000! Putting the jokes aside, this place is just amazing overall. Yah it's in the middle of nowhere like the name says, but it is well worth looking for. Everything is around $10 and come on plates about 18in. wide and overflowing with food. I ordered the clam strips which was about $9.99 and was blown away by the quantity and quality of it. I was expecting a dinky plate with a couple of strips of poorly fried shoestrings, and instead I am greeted by a mountain of plump pieces of clam. We also had the Boneless Fried Chicken, amazingly good, and again large portions, even for a big eater. The burgers were big, juicy, fresh toppings, yummy steak fries, at only $3.95, a bargain. This place is well worth going an hour out of your way to seek it. I seriously suggest coming here. It's just off the 95 an hour south of Boston. This is the best diner I've ever been to in terms of food quality, portions are huge, low cost, friendly staff, and friendly locals giving us recommendations on what to order.

I don't understand why this restaurant continues to serve terrible food. Fish to dry, to many fries, clam chowder no New England style (I don't like spicy clam chowder). Cole slaw was "sticky" yuck and the tarter sauce very sweet. Plus the fact when we got home with order, the # of clam cakes we paid for was not the amount we received. Not a great place to eat, I wish they would get their act together.

love this place. it's really not in the middle of nowhere, it's pretty easy to find and get to if you are on 95 headed through rhode island. when we go there for breakfast the parking lot was pretty packed and there was a line out the door, but we waited and less than 10 minutes later were seated and ordered and our food was out just as quick .. and DAMN this was a serious stack of chocolate chip pancakes. thank you yelp for helping me find the middle of nowhere!!

You will not leave hungry No, it's not quite in the middle of nowhere, in fact it's right on Rt. 3 so it's easy to find. This place certainly is not much to look at from the outside, Just sort of stuck together with another room in the back added on. However the inside isn't too bad. Always dark and a bit cramped but usually pretty clean. People don't come here from the decor, they come for the food. A great menu for both breakfast and dinner that has many different items. The breakfast omelets are absolutely gigantic with many different opinions available. These things fill the plate and your stomach. Also pancakes, waffles or muffins. For dinner you can get the usual burgers and casual cuisine but many seafood combinations are also served, including clams, fish and chips and huge seafood platters. The Middle of Nowhere Diner isn't really in the middle of nowhere, but it is a good place to go if you want good food, lots of good food at a reasonable price.

You know it's going to be good when all the handicap spots are taken and the walkers are double parked between booths. Some down-home good cookin and eating going on here. Dumpy turn-and-burn breakfast and lunch joint. Justifiably beloved by locals. Eggs over easy and crispy-hash, rye toast, and watery coffee served laconically (yes I like that word a lot) by waitresses who may or may not be moonlighting as tattoo artists. Whatever. It's awesome.

I absolutely love this place. Every time I'm in the area, I go here. The price for the food is unbeatable in this area. The service is exceptional too! This is my third time eating here, and it never fails to impress me!

The Middle of Nowhere Diner isn't really in the middle of nowhere, but it is a good place to go if you want good food, lots of good food at a reasonable price.

don't worry about the dirty busboy smoking a cigarette outback or the grimey kitchen peep show you'll get while ordering at the register. this place is a cute little diner, good menu options, nothing fancy (no organic.. all corn), easy going waitresses, please just loose the to-go styrofoam to seal the meh..deal..
