Last time I went to a Texas Roadhouse was years ago in the South. Every time I drive by this location, the parking lot is FULL ... Last night, a bunch of us decided to give it a try. We used the call ahead seating feature and the table was ready for us right on time. We were shown the different cuts of steak right upfront so we could pick something that we liked. The hostess picked up a warm basket of yummy buttered rolls for us, which she brought to the table. For a drink, I ordered a Margarita and it was very tasty, large and potent. A bit on the sour side, so I added some sweetener and off I went.... The menu is varied with a focus on steaks, pork chops, chicken and some salads. A Children's menu is available. We ordered the 16 oz RIbeye, medium rare with a side of ribs. The steak came to the table a bit more Medium than medium rare...but the taste and the tenderness of the steak was VERY GOOD.. The ribs, were fall of the bone...as usual. For sides, we got the steak fries and the seasoned rice. The former was good, but not crispy enough for me. The latter was nice and tasty...hot and delicious.... Overall a great chain restaurant, great service and great prices.

I'm a little confused. Sitting in a waiting room for 40 minutes when I was told 2 minutes prior to arriving at the restaurant that there was no wait time. How that changed, I'll never understand. I'm not happy. I can't believe how dysfunctional and unorganized the hostess is. To blatantly lie about a wait time? That doesn't do anyone any good. Never again.

I never thought I'd give five stars to a chain restaurant, but I totally just did. I used to work right around the corner from TR and drove by it every day. Never tried it. One time I wasn't feeling good and the boyfriend got takeout for me, which was good but reheated food is never amazing. Finally I got around to eating there, and I was 100% impressed from start to finish. The place was PACKED but we got a table in about 10 minutes. Every employee that we interacted with was extremely pleasant and helpful. Yes, they have to give a corporate mandated spiel about certain things and try to sell certain items... that's part of their job, so don't hold it against them. The employees were awesome, friendly, and worked together like a well-oiled machine to create quick and efficient service. PEANUTS. Peanuts everywhere. I did not mind at all. I love peanuts. I had to work really hard to control myself and only eat a handful so that I had room for dinner. And the rolls OH THE ROLLS. They are hot, fresh, soft and buttery and come with a heaping side of delicious cinnamon butter. I could make a meal out of just the buns. The meal hadn't even started yet and I was sold. We started off with some margaritas; I got the Roadhouse roadie (with a kicker of Patron) and my boyfriend got the sangria margarita. Both were HUGE and really delicious. I seriously appreciated the "kicker" option of extra booze on the side because I like my 'ritas strong. For an app we ordered the fried pickles, which were deeee-licious and came with two different dipping sauces. The breading was nice and crispy and the pickles were juicy and crunchy. Next we got some Cesar salads, which were generously portioned, tasty, and topped with lots of freshly grated cheese. Entrees: Steak and ribs. If you come here and don't order these, you're seriously missing out. My steak had absolutely ZERO fat, was cooked perfectly medium-rare, and I could slice through it like butter. It melted in my mouth a little with each bite. I got the "roadkill" style which came with onions, mushrooms and jack cheese on top. So good. My boyfriend got the ribs, which fell right off the bone and slid right down your throat. The sauce and seasonings were perfect. We both got mashed potatoes as the sides and they were awesome; creamy, fluffy, thick, delicious. Absolutely no room for dessert... we had to pass. Under $50 for a massive, delicious dinner for two. I love it!

Been coming here at least once a month and it is always great. A few times I've had to wait until the food or appetizers are coming out to get some bread because they were making it but not a deal breaker.

Ribs and steak fries app was perfect size. Grilled chicken good well. Nice tangy sauce. Guiness in a can. Waitress was a little dumb. Good size portions. I don't like line dancing or the birthday song and got both. Overall satisfied

There's so much sodium in everything it nearly took off a coating from my tongue. It's horrible the people can eat here but it's even more horrible that people can bring their children to eat here!!! *barf*

So we come to Texas Roadhouse because we are craving a steak and because we always have trusted their service in the past but honestly this is probably the worst restaurant I have been to yet. We arrive at 8:40 pm and get seated then we have to wait like 10 or 12 mins for the bread. We waited about 30 mins for the salad, then server comes over and asks if we would like more bread. Comes back 3 mins later to inform us that the bread is completely gone... Steaks finally came and mine was cooked great but my buddies steak was not cooked correctly. His was very under cooked. Probably won't be coming back to this location again, but thank goodness I live in Virginia!

It's a chain, and I've said this before, but I enjoy it. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, while the food has that nice southern comforting flavor. I have one gripe and its with the CEO. You make these poor servers dance yet you don't pay them any extra for it? We all know servers make far less than minimum wage. Rare that they get vacation, sick time and benefits. Don't be a cheap SOB, Kent Taylor.

Excellent value. There aren't too many places where I can get 2 beers and an entree (plus 2 sides, rolls, and peanuts) for under $20 (including tip). Granted they were drink specials and an entree special, but still. Sometimes I feel guilty about patronizing chain restaurants, but I also feel guilty when I spend over $30 for the same amount of food and beer at another restaurant. The Smothered Chicken is my favorite. Next time I'll plan to take a doggy bag home, I think. I'm stuffed!

Ok, I'm not a chain restaurant person but a friend wanted to go here on a Wednesday for a special they have on sirloin steaks ($9.99 for an 11 oz steak). I got their Skinny Margarita which was actually very good and the sirloin special with double mushrooms and a sweet potato. The mushrooms were out of this world and my steak was ok. I ordered it medium rare, but it was definitely medium well. They do ask that you cut it in front of them to determine if it's ok. I noticed it wasn't but I just chose not to send it back as I was starving. Next time I probably would though. My potato looked like it had seen better days so I didn't really eat it. The bread and cinnamon butter were awesome though. I had a little credit card issue here as my friend and I split it between the two of us, but our waitress accidentally swiped mine for the full amount, then cancelled it. Unfortunately it already goes through to the bank, so I noticed the next day I had a large charge from them. I ended up going back in and speaking to a manager who let me know what happened. It did take several days for them to fix it which was kind of a hassle since the bank puts the money on hold, but they did correct it and gave me a gift card for two for dinner. I will most likely go back, but will probably pay in cash! At the end of the meal our waitress kind of pushed buying gift cards on us, which we could have done without. I have a feeling they must get some sort of compensation from this since after we declined she then offered to take money off whatever amount gift card we bought. I feel for these people, but still, it's annoying.

Disclaimer - I am not really into chain restaurants like this at all, not big into BBQ and not really into county western. So we had two gift cards for this place that were over five years old. Yes, five. If you ask me where I want to eat Smoky Bones, Texas Roadhouse, etc aren't on the bottom of the list, they aren't even on the list. After a long day working out in the yard yesterday I just wanted a meal that I didn't have to cook and I didn't really care where I had it. This was the perfect opportunity to use those old gift certificates. Expectations were low going in. We walked in and it was moderately busy and were told we would have to wait for a table to be cleaned. Ok, there are a fair amount of empty tables. After a short wait our table was ready but first they have to ask us if we had ever been there before. Since we hadn't, we had to see the cold case with all of the steaks and were given the opportunity to pick our steak out. Ummmmm.... No thanks. I think I'd like to look at the menu first and actually see what you have to offer. We were seated with rolls with cinnamon butter, plates and no utensils. Someone else eventually came by with utensils. Our waitress came by and we got the full Roadhouse spiel. I ordered a skinny margarita that didn't knock my socks off, but was tasty. My husband ordered a draft beer. They had a decent selection. Our waitress came by to see if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered the buffalo tenders and at the last minute I added the fried pickles since I have never had them before. The waitress warned us they were salty and if we didn't like salty food we may not like them. We passed. When our appetizers came the waitress brought us a handful of the fried pickles just so we could try them. That was really nice of her. Yes, they were salty. The buffalo tenders were more like small chunks and were tasty, but also salty. For our meals, my husband ordered the lemon pepper salmon with corn and broccoli. He thought it was OK. I ordered the grilled shrimp which came with rice and then I ordered the Caeser salad and broccoli as my sides. I received two skewers of shrimp, five shrimp each, and they were tasty. A super salty lemon pepper sauce was on the side. The rice was standard rice-a-roni. The salad was good, but the broccoli would have benefited from a bit of seasoning. What I didn't like was the layer of grease at the bottom of our plates. When I got up this morning my hands were very swollen. I could barely get my rings on and they are normally loose. I have my suspicions that there was MSG in my food. If not there had to have been a crazy amount of salt. I brought home half of my food and I don't think I'll be eating it now. Our waitress, Heather, was fantastic! I can't rave enough about here. The manager also stopped by to make sure everything was OK. We have zero complaints about the service. I don't think we'll be back any time soon though.

This place is so much fun! Love the atmosphere!!! Love the food! They always give you so much that you leave there so stuffed! My boyfriend and I love going here on a Friday or Saturday night! Only downfall! Is it's not open later than 10 which is such a bummer! But I won't stop going! The food is too good to pass up! Love the bread they give us with that sweet dip, my mouths watering just talking about it! Anyways! a place to try!

My husband and I use to frequently order to go once a week at least. We stopped in October after I watched snotty girls working up front get into a cat fight over helping the to go girl get the food for the three people she had in line. Fast forward to tonight where we decided to try again. They forgot my sides. I called they offered to have me drive back. No, you messed up. I got an I'm sorry which is the reason for the second star but I'm all done. It's too hard to order to go food and get it correct.

Went on a Wednesday for the $9.99 sirloin special. It really is a great deal. You get fresh rolls, two sides and a 11.5 ounce steak that is very tasty. I have since been back three times for the same deal and found that the cooking of the steaks are a little inconsistent. I always order my steaks medium, but I'm not too picky about it. if you are, I would suggest ordering it one step toward the rare side so they don't overcook it. You can always send it back and they can give it a quick sear. The waitstaff and service are good and I have never had to wait for a table. This is a steakhouse and i have only gone there for steaks. It would not be my first choice for seafood or anything but steak and ribs.

Last year I would have given this location 5 stars. But over the last year the quality of the food and the service has declined. Wrong cuts of steaks served to me, wait staff who disappear for way too long periods of time have caused me to avoid this location whenever possible. Luckily they have another restaurant in Warwick which I've been frequenting. So the company is still getting my $$, I just have to drive a little further to patronize their establishment.

What more could you ask for from a chain steakhouse. The service was decent, steaks were cooked properly and properly seasoned. Their sweet potato was great with butter and brown sugar. I definitely recommend it! The unlimited bread and butter they give you is always fresh and delicious. Haven't tried any desserts but next time I do I will re-visit my review.

Great steak and fun staff. Restrooms are clean or I would walk out of any establishment. Can wait a long time on weekends, but in the smart phone era we live in, we keep busy on our phone as we wait.

Not the kind of place my husband and I usually frequent - we don't have kids and usually prefer a quiet atmosphere with interesting menus. But we were given a gift certificate for this place and decided to use it. It was actually super fun, awesome service, and surprisingly good food. We plan to go back sometime for a fun, low-key night. Pleasantly surprised!

Steaks are meh, but everything else is great here. My husband and I love steak and potatoes and we frequent the local steakhouse chains on a semi regular basis. We have been to this location several times and it seems very popular and busy whether it is on a weeknight or a weekend. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious with exception of the steaks. We both ordered the ribeyes. It was fairly disappointing compared to the first part of our meal. The steaks tasted like it was older meat that had been sitting in the back of the freezer, flash defrosted and then overcooked slightly. It was tough, dry meat and in retrospect I should have sent it back. The steaks never seem to be consistent here. The previous visit our steaks were juicy but 1/3 of it was fatty and greasy. The service though is excellent and the staff tries hard to please. This is a nice place but they need to work harder on consistency with the main product, the steaks!

Good price, Good service, good steak size, fantastic restaurant in Cranston. They have a very special service when you enter into the restaurant. They would rather let you choose the chose the raw beef by yourself and cook it for you.

Great service, food not what it used to be, but consistent none the less... I always love their ribs. Steak not as flavored as it used to be, and portions seem less.

One of the two girls at the front desk clearly didn't want to be there, projecting attitude at anyone within her proximity. The wait seating area is fine but then they call your party to the desk and you get a sharp "stand on the red carpet," a little taken back we moved to the crowded red carpet and stood there with three other parties for nearly ten minutes, cattle call anyone! Our number is called (again) and "Miss Friendly" wants to go into the corporate speech about the steaks that are sitting behind a finger print covered glass, no thanks, I'm good with that, I just wanted to get out of the cattle chute and sit down. Once at our table the food was pretty good but the service was not. The waitress checked on our food before we had a chance to try it, then was never seen again, no refills offered and I had to flag her down to get our check. The food was better than the two stars I gave the restaurant, but the service was only fair and the waiting area experience was rude and unprofessional. I have been at this restaurant before as well as another Texas Roadhouse and had much better experiences than I had on this visit.

I like the food here, I like the beer. I really enjoy a frosty mug of nice keg beer. YUM. This particular store doesn't really do it for me as far as the staff is concerned. There is one closer to me that I frequent and seem to have a better experience at. I was at this one because we were at someones house and it was close by. Definitely nothing wrong with anyone there but I always get friendlier, better service at another one.

I came here with a friend last night. I ordered the Bone in Ribeye with loaded mashed potatoes. I've been up since 3am burning up with several symptoms of food poisoning. (Nausea, vomiting, fever, etc.) I know it was from here because it's the only thing I ate yesterday. I certainly think it's safe to say that this experience was my first and last time at the Texas Roadhouse.

Texas Roadhouse is our go-to American chain restaurant, and I am not always the biggest fan of American chain food. The place does get packed, but it's conveniently located close to our home. When my husband and I are starving and are in need of our steaks, we come here. The prices are very reasonable and affordable, and better yet, the portions are enormous! They start your table off with freshly baked rolls that have a mild sweetness to them. As if these weren't addicting enough, they are accompanied by cinnamon butter. Yum! You get 2 huge, awesome sides with almost every entree. The chili, loaded baked potato, sweet potato, and house salad sides are perfect. We also like to order an appetizer of spicy boneless buffalo chicken. These always hit the spot. As far as the staff, they are ok. Don't expect first-class service here. This place is all about the basic human instinct for steak :)

3 and a half star really because, I like the Texas Roadhouse, we go back there every 6 months. The music is loud, the margaritas are gross but unlike a lot of reviewers, I've never had a bad experience here. Pros: Good steak (never order the ones in the window, they are ex-pensive), always cooked the way I want it , and warm. Reasonable price Fresh salads and vegetables Huge choice of sides Cons: Loud Music (and 20 birthday screams a night) Line dancing (Oh lord) Gross Margaritas (the salt.. the salt.. everywhere!) Pro: Low Carb Options

"I'm in the mood for a steak, lets go to a steakhouse!" At the Texas Roadhouse, my date and I got the steak we were looking for tasty, and cooked to perfection. Further than that though, I was not impressed what-so-ever by my time here. Two star review instead of one because the food itself redeemed this restaurant slightly. Called ahead and were told there was only a 5 - 10 minute wait. We decided to put our names in anyways since we had called, and it was a good thing we did. By the time we arrived, wait time jumped to 20 - 30 minutes. (1) Before being seated we were asked: Have you been to the Roadhouse before? Yes we have. . . and we were walked to our table. (2) Having been seated our waitress comes over: Have you been to the Roadhouse before? Yes we have. . . and we were given menus. (3) Partway into the meal a manager-type person walks over: Have you been to the Roadhouse before? YES WE FREAKIN' HAVE. . . who else could possibly want to know this? Never have I been approached and spoken to so many times during a meal. I can't even recount the amount of times staff came to the table to speak to us about specials or hand out coupons and promote the restaurant. I came for a steak. . . not for continuous advertising and conversation with the employees. To top it off the atmosphere here is that of a crazed, poorly organized rodeo type festival. Current country stars belt it out at high volumes over the speaker system, employees sing, dance, and clap at the bar in an attempt to drive up business, and people are humiliated by a portable saddle and song on their birthdays. I found myself having to literally shout to talk to my date. . . his main response being "What??". Not an enjoyable atmosphere to have dinner in. Like I said, the roadhouse redeems itself through its steak dinner. I devoured an 11 oz USDA Sirloin Steak with a side of seasoned rice and green beans (soaked in some salty solution with bits of meat mixed in. . . strange but delectable). My date got the 16 oz Cowboy Cut and it was HUGE. You have to be really hungry. . . or a trooper to finish this one. Kudos to him. . . the whole thing disappeared. We received a coupon for a free Baby Blossom appetizer. We are considering returning for this one item. Some free peanuts (that we ended up having to ask for) and delicious bread with honey-cinnamon butter spread. Then leave. . . and run far away from this hectic, non-privacy driven environment.

So my friends took me here to give it a shot and laughed at me because the first thing I noticed was the sign that said there was going to be peanuts on the floor and was ready to leave before we even got in. However, they convinced me to go in and I was glad I did. First off they had magaritas for $2.50 auto matic win in my book, second the rolls they brought to the table were awesome, or waitress was great, and the food wasn't bad at all. Once I looked past the peanuts in the floor, which actually weren't to messy, I was not disappointed at all. Def someplace worth checking out.

Alright, Yelp friends, after several poor meals here, tonight's terrible meal and even worse service has pushed me over the edge and I will not be returning to this location. Tonight, we visited the Texas Roadhouse in Cranston to celebrate the high school graduation of a family friend (he really wanted to go there after we had a great meal at the Texas Roadhouse in South Burlington) and had a very disappointing experience. First, it was 9pm when we arrived, so the place was only half-full, which should equal good service. WRONG! Our server (Kaitlyn) only had two tables but took over five minutes to visit our table and get a drink order. Another five minutes later, our sodas and iced teas arrived. We placed our meal order and waited ten minutes and I had to ask before receiving my salad. However, the server didn't bring any bread to the table (as is customary when they first seat you), so I went to the front and grabbed some so the graduate and his family didn't have to watch me eat. Our meals arrived and I was very disappointed with the 12 oz rib eye as it was served "medium" although I ordered it "medium rare". One would think that if any restaurant could cook a steak to the right temperature it would be a steak restaurant - but for the third time at this location, I was proven wrong. Usually the server asks if the steak is cooked properly when it first arrives, but our lovely Kaitlyn didn't, nor did we get the usual manager visit so I had no opportunity to mention this. Besides having an over-cooked steak, I also found it to be very dry and chewy. It tasted like a low-quality sirloin and not a juicy rib eye. For my second side, I ordered a baked sweet potato. I had to laugh when it arrived with a huge spoonful of brown sugar dumped in the middle of the potato and without any butter on it or on the side! Unfortunately, my meal was not the only over-cooked one or poor tasting one. The burgers were over-cooked and a 14-year-old dining with us found his ribs to be chewy and gross - and it is usually difficult to disappoint a teenage boy with ribs! At any rate, friends, if you are looking for a good steak and good service, you may want to find another restaurant to visit . . .

Came on a Wednesday night and got their sirloin steak special for $9.99. This consists of an 11 oz sirloin steak, which you can pick out yourself, and two sides of your choice. (Normally costs $15.99) We were greeted, allowed to pick our steaks, and then seated. The waitress took our drink order and served us fresh baked rolls with cinnamon butter. I could have eaten just the rolls and been happy because these are so yummy. The sides I ordered were mashed potatoes and green beans. These were pretty good, especially the green beans, but the steak was the star. It was big and tender and juicy. It was surprisingly delicious. I would come back for this steak dinner again!

I love to bring my kids here. It is loud and so are they, so no one notices. The ribs are fall off the bone good and this California girl finally found a place with good ranch dressing! Take my advice, order a baked potato and a chili (no onions for me). Pour the chili on the baked potato and then top with some ranch dressing. You will thank me... and order it every time you go!

Went here early on Friday evening, there was a moderate amount of families dining, and the bar was full. It seemed like we were the only table our waitress had because of her frequent check ins that started to become annoying. Our food was expected of a casual dining establishment, worth the money and cooked correctly. I had the 16oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and a cesar salad. Even the manager came to check on our dining experience. It wasn't my first time at a Texas Roadhouse but the others in my party were new to the scene. He wanted to ensure their first visit was a pleasant one. The staff cared for the service they provided and we were lucky enough to watch the staff so some square dancing. Not the most enthusiastic group, but I'm sure later in the night with the music turned up and more guests it can be quite the show. 5 stars for them doing providing the service I expected flawlessly! I will be back again!

Today I had dinner at the texas roadhouse. The steak and baked potato were so salty that I could not finish my meal. It would be nice if they asked up front whether or not you wanted the salty spices. I will not be returning any time soon.

One of my new favorite restaurants. First they bring you a basket of warm soft rolls with a cinnamon butter spread on the side which is AMAZING. The restaurant can be a bit messy with peanut shells all over the floor but honestly it doesn't make a difference to me, once you sit down and eat it's easy to look past it and I feel like it adds character to the joint! Sometimes this place can be a little loud they will crank up the music and some of the waiters and bartenders will start line dancing in the aisles. It can be pretty cool at times but distracting if you're trying to carry on a conversation with your date. My favorite meal by far was the Smothered Chicken which was a juicy chicken breast with cheese melted on top with onions and mushrooms. It comes with a choice of two sides and I got the loaded baked potato and the green beans (which were kinda salty so I didn't eat them, the potato was delicious though) Also it's best to call ahead on the weekend as this place fills up pretty quickly, there have been times my boyfriend and I couldn't get past the front door because there were so many people waiting that we ended up going elsewhere.

Absolutely horrible management and very low food quality standards, the worse I have ever seen at Texas Roadhouse. I was a part of a party of 12, having lunch on a sunday afternoon where the restaurant was not busy. All 12 of us were seated pretty much right away and were promptly greeted and drink orders taken as expected. We then all ordered our meals and waited the average time of 15-20 min before our meals were served. All is fine util this point. Our meals came out and I was one of the first to be served in my group. I ordered Ribeye steak with loaded mashed, and seasoned rice. The steak was cooked as I ordered (medium) but it was not hot at all, it was pretty much room temperature. I then dug into the loaded mashed potatoes to find that they were actually still cold, as if they were never "cooked", but whipped with room temperature liquid. The whipped butter on top of them was not even melting, that's how cold they were. Next, I checked out the rice and sure enough, it was also not even luke warm. It's as if they cooked my entire dinner first, set it aside, "not even under a warmer" and then let it sit there for 15-20 minutes while they cooked the rest of the meals that my group ordered. Once the waitress was finished serving everyone in my group, I politely asked her for "a hot meal" and explained to her that "none of my food" was even acceptably warm. I even showed her the unmelted whipped butter sitting in the middle of the cold mashed. She apologized, took my plate and said that she would have them fix it. The food came back to me about 10 minutes later, (the same food), and to my surprise, none of it was hot. The steak was the only item that was actually warm, but now.... it was overcooked and dry. The mashed potatoes, appeared to be microwaved, but not nearly enough. When digging into the mashed potatoes, they were still COLD, not room temperature, but COLD in the middle. The rice, was also absolutely no different, like they forgot to reheat that side dish. The real killer here is that the meal was brought back out and served to me the second time "not by our waitress", but by the "Restaurant Manager" himself. Where is the quality control here? I was at a total loss for words. I told the manager that this was absolutely unacceptable for this to happen, and for a second time in a row. I proceeded to show him how the steak was no longer medium and was now well done, I then stuck my finger into the mashed potatoes and showed him how they were not hot at all. At this point, he sw how upset I was and apologized, but I could clearly see that he was not at all being sincere, as if he could give a hoot. So the "Manager" took the meal away and said that he would make me an entirely new meal. Well, that meal did not come back to me until after all of my party (12 people) were completely finished eating their dinners. When the meal finally arrived, the first thing I noticed and for some reason the mashed potatoes came with none of the cheese, butter or bacon on top of them. The potatoes were in a side-dish all by themselves and the toppings came to me inside of a side container. This is not how it normally comes. Next, the steak was so unbelievably salty, like it was oversalted on pourpouse, and I know it most definitely was over-salted intentionally, I could not eat it. Nobody could eat it. I even cut off 3 pieces and let my family members try it, they all made a face and said, "Oh My God" this is terrible. How could this be? They all could not believe what they were chewing on. To say that I was FURIOUS!!! is an understatement. My arms and legs were actually shaking, thats how incredibly upset I was for the bad experience and unprofessional treatment that I endured on December 18, 2011 at 1:30 PM EST. Now, I have totally lost my appetite and all will to have a meal. I simply asked our waitress to get the manager and simply asked him for his full name, the name of our server, and the telephone number for the corporate headquarters. I am actually a repeat and regular customer of Texas Roadhouse and the same location too, (Cranston, RI). In addition, I regularly visit the East Greenwich, RI location and the new location built near Norwood, MA. I love Texas Roadhouse and I am very familiar with this meal in particular, I always order it. I am even the one who suggested this establishment for our gathering on this day. It was me who said, "let's go to Texas Roadhouse", you'll love it. I was really dumbfounded on how this Manager and/or Chef handled the situation and want Texas Roadhouse to know that this "Manager" should not be representing Texas Roadhouse. First thing tomorrow morning, I will be making a formal complaint about this Restaurant manager, and this most worst restaurant experience that I have ever had to endure. This manager should not be managing a restaurant, period.

Food use to be great ever since they changed the management the food changed as well. They shouldn't give burn buns either I hate those dry buns they should be golden and shiny. They fell off big time.

I have been Texas Roadhouse at different locations. Was all good, but this time, worst experience ever!!! They had good steak, but they don't know how to cook it. I ordered prime ribs steak, and it was so plain and dry for the most part, need more seasoning. And then the last part was over-seasoned, way too salty. Furthermore, my boyfriend ordered smoked BBQ ribs, is was totally CHARED!! We couldn't believe they would actually send out a plate of burned meat to us, even they knew we would return it. But even after they gave us another plate of BBQ ribs, we weren't happy what we got, I mean the meat was just PLAIN. They need to learn how to smoke good ribs. Definitely not suggest people to come over for steak. You will be disappointed.

My friend and I happened to be in Rhode Island and saw the huge highway sign saying, "Texas Roadhouse, EXIT HERE!". I figured what the hay because I've never in my twenty odd years of living have never been to a TRH, and we were starving. Awesome: Barrel of free peanuts right in front of the door, nice door greeters, polite and fast hostess that showed us to the meat to see if we just wanted to choose a slab right then and there, and a clean walkway (though it would've been cool to see the peanut shells on the floor). Good: The potato skin appetizer with REAL bacon and REAL cheese. The shrimp skewer. I ordered the Ft. Worth Ribeye 10oz, and it was pretty good. In all honesty, I'm not a pro steak/bbq eater, but the meat was meat. I can tell you that it wasn't bad. I like how you can chose two sides with your meal, and I ordered fries and a salad. Bad: We never got straws until we asked for them. Our waitress never gave us a bucket of peanuts but did to all of her other tables in her section. Brought out their appetizers before ours, even though we came in a good 15-20 mins before them. Rushed us because she told us she was leaving her shift and wanted us to pay our bill before the next waiter came into her section. No I do not want dessert or an alcoholic drink anymore. Give me my box to take the rest of my food to go. I'll pay my bill after you leave and we'll leave your tip with the next guy and you can hope that he gives it to you.

My boyfriend and I eat here all the time because its only a few blocks away from our house. I always have the same thing, a salad (can't think of the name off hand) that comes with part blue cheese and part vinaigrette dressing. DELICIOUS! Although the staff can be a bit distracted, they seem to do the best they can with the management they have and their (lack of better words) lack of experience. But I'm sure with time and practice they may all be great servers. Can't beat the price and the salad is to die for.

I'm not a fan of chain restraints especially ones with a lot of peanuts because my husband is deathly allergic lol I'll pass here

I'm generally not a big fan of chain restaurants, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm really only here to drink beer and kill time. It's f'ing great for that. As a side note the bread they serve here is off the chain. Cinnamon butter yo!

The food here was above average but I feel that they have some service issues that really need to be worked out. I called both this location and the Warwick location before putting our name on the call ahead list here (the wait was 30 min as opposed to 1 hour). Well when we arrived (admittedly, 20 minutes after we had told them we would be there) the place was PACKED with people. So many people that you couldn't move. Think Cheesecake Factory waiting area. We checked in and were told that we would still need to wait half an hour. No biggie, we did arrive way after we had originally thought we would. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Half an hour came and went. At fifty minutes, I was just about to go ask the hostess how much longer it would be when our buzzer finally went off. The hostess was nice enough to say sorry about the long wait, which I really appreciated. We were sat in a booth in the middle of the restaurant and perused the menu. We decided to start with the fried onion... how can you not? When the waitress came over, it was extremely apparent how busy she was. We definitely felt like a bother to her, she talked pretty fast and wanted to get away from the table ASAP. I completely understand that it was crazy in there, but there's no reason to make your customer feel like it's annoying for you to wait on them. The food was really good. That onion is to die for, and who can resist those darn rolls with cinnamon sugar butter?? Not me, that's for sure. My husband ordered the ribs and I got the small filet. They took quite a while to come out, but the manager came over to apologize for the wait, which was nice. When they finally arrived, they were delicious. I really enjoyed all the food here, but I feel like they need to work on how the restaurant runs at busy times, and hopefully make some changes to make things go more smoothly!

One star for the prices because they are good for this type of large chain restaurants. One star because the service was excellent. The food terrible unless Chilis, TGIF and applebees is good dining to you.

we sat at the bar. Bar tender was not very presonable or the quickest but not mean or rude. First we had the snake bites which we have all the time in rt2 restaraunt they were cold like they werent in long enough. we got the ribs they were good as usual except that my ribs were a little fatty. The bar was very dark almost put you to sleep. There were 2 other couples with same complaint. needless to say i will be going to the rt2 restaurant before this one next time

So bad.... I don't even know where to begin. I have been here a few times, but the last time was definitely the most memorable. I will never be going here or the other Texas Roadhouse(Next to the East Greenwich movie theater) ever again. Of course I am not expecting a 5 star meal, not even a 4 star considering it's Texas Roadhouse. I ordered the Sirloin beef tips. "SIRLOIN BEEF TIPS* * Tender sirloin pieces with sautéed mushrooms and onions in brown gravy served over seasoned rice or mashed potatoes (choice of one side)" It was probably a mistake to order that in the first place, but I figured that it would't be so bad. My bf hand picked the boneless rib-eye steak when we walked in. He ordered it medium rare. Our food came out and my face was just o.O ; The beef tips looked like Dog food out of a can with gravy served over rice. I don't like to send food back because I feel like it's kind of rude. I will usually just bite my tongue and eat it. So, that's what I decided to do. I took one bite, well tried to anyway and I could not...... It was so chewy, and it tasted just like it looked. I felt horrible and I kept apologizing to the waitress , but I had to send the food back. The waitress (she was very nice) said to me- " OH, I am so sorry about that. UGH it's probably because they use leftover steak that they didn't sell to cook that" She asked if I would like to order something else, and I asked for prime rib. She asked how I would like it cooked and I asked for it medium. After the waitress came back with the prime rib, she said to me "I am sorry, but the prime rib is medium well because that's how the entire batch was cooked" =/ I am disappointed. My bf's steak wasn't any better. After he cut into it, he realized it was completely raw. The outside of the steak was seared like it was supposed to, but the inside was PURPLE. It was not a "hot red center" like it's supposed to. Texas Roadhouse would be a great place to go with a bunch of friends to drink and eat food after you've been drinking for a while. It would also be a great place to go if you really don't want to listen to what the other person has to say- it is ridiculously loud in there. Ps. Don't go there if you're allergic to peanuts

    (1)
  • Jeff J.

For starters, I probably won't be going back to the Roadhouse any time soon. There are other restaurants that serve similar food, only better. The last two times there the service has been average at best. Do I blame the loud music for a reason why I got chicken & ribs combo instead of chicken and pulled pork? The atmosphere is great if you like competing with the music to have a conversation. The food is usually done right when it arrives, again, it's just that there are so many other similar, better places you could pick. Why do this to yourself?

All I can say is that Texas Roadhouse has THE most mouthwatering, fall-off-the-bone rack of ribs I've ever had. Too bad I'm Vegetarian now otherwise I'd go there again but the last time I went here I didn't have any problems with the service whatsoever. I don't know what everyone's fuss is all about, this place is great. The key is to get there EARLY. I went at around 4:00 before the line got too out of control. The most I ever had to wait here is about 10 minutes, tops. The waitress/waiters that I had were very pleasant and never "advertised" me, just made sure I got what I asked for and that I was enjoying my time there. I'd highly recommend the ribs with the mashed potatoes. Delicious!

Its a pretty good place for a casual dinner out. I am limited with my vegetarian status but I do enjoyt he sweet rolls and their salads are really good. They are always chilled and they load them up with hard boiled egg and cheese and croutons...mmmm! I enjoy the salmon although it tends to be a bit more salty than it should. You have to try the sweet potato for a side- they will offer you marshmallow, cinnamon etc. but I prefer a teeny bit of butter just for some added flavor. The line dancing waitresses are not super impressive but I always threaten my friends that I will bring them there on their birthday and they will have to sit on a pseudo bronco (actually just a large mobile saddle) and the whole crew sings and dances to your special day. Highly embarassing and yet funny for the spectators. Other non-vegetarian dishes that my friends have enjoyed- country fried steak and prime rib.

I give this place 3 stars-I will definately be back, but mainly for the freshly baked hot bread that comes with cinnamon butter. omg, delicious~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!tastes like warm sweet cake!yummmmmm!!!and it is free, all you can eat!!! they also put a pail of free all you can eat peanuts on the table. frankly, i could sit there and eat those two items all night long and call it a meal.and, i take for-ev-ER to order off the menu (my husbands main gripe about taking me out), so by the time i order, I may be so full, I'll get everything to go..or, maybe wont even order at all~! needless to say, we did not order a kid meal for my son.he typically wastes food anyways....the only thing he even picks at is the french fries, and he did NOT like the steak fries at this place.in fact, he took them and put them on my plate.lol.it was hilarious.ive never seen a 2 yearold more determined not to eat something. in fact, my son even told his first lie today...he say ''eat mommy.taste good?taste good." after putting his barely nibbled steak fry on my plate. after he sprinkled it with salt and pepper.ah, but i digress...i love that kid, but i also love steak fries and i thought they were decent enough.they aren't as meaty/thickly cut as other places, nor as well seasoned...but they were soft and had enough salt to please my needs.\ the chilli was subpar...you can get better chilli at wendys fast food. way better. The menu is amazingly low price, even for the steak!!! If you go before 6pm, you can actually get most of the menu for 8 bucks or less. We ordered a baby onion blossom...it is almost as big as the gigantic blossoms served at chillis...i will def order again and again-delicious!!!!!!!only 4 bucks, which is fantastic. nothing bugs me more than when restaraunt inflate prices above 500% the cost of making the item.this was an acceptable profit in my opinion. the pulled pork was edible...not smoked, not even pulled very well...the sauce wasn't anything too amazing...frankly, if you are not a pulled pork lover, this stuff with not make you a fan.however, i am a pulled pork lover-and as greedy as i am, i actually boxed up my food and took it home...wow, that is a FIRST, i sh*t you not.i am so greedy, i've been known to burp myself just to get more room in my belly.i HATE taking food home. my husband had the steak-he begged me to try it.i refused.it looked okay, but they have a deli style area in the front of the place where you pick out your cut of meat.it is a cool idea for people who like meat...but for a typical omnivore, it might cause you to lose your appetite for anything animal related. that is what happened to me, i started feeling bad for the animals. anywho, about a day later, my hubby came down with flu like symptoms. i assume this is food-related illness...but meh, i wasn''t affected, so im not calling in. he ordered the steak medium rare, so it is his own fault he got food poisoning, in my opinion. the servers and hostesses all gathered to do a line dance to one of the songs playing at some point. it was pretty depressing.none of them looked happy, and there was no energy. i can't express it enough-you are at work-do your job, and smile. it aint hard-just remember you are being paid, and you are never going to see these people ever again. they didnt look like they enjoyed themselves until the very last 5 seconds. needless to say, ridiculous and painful to watch..most of the patrons were looking away and going back to eating their food after just 8 seconds of this nonsense.the rest of us were looking at eachother thinking the same thing-if you don't like this part of the job, either get a different job or participate with a smile on your face. it isn't a popularity contest.it is a job. i felt like crap after watching this lack luster performance.it reflected in my tip. ill definately be back..the bbq sauce tasted like it would be really good on chicken or on some ribs.the ribs are cheap enough that im willing to risk that, despite not-to-good-pulled-pork. the bread alone is a good reason to come back. oh yeah- most of the food is wicked salty. i love salt...my mom even told me once that she should buy me a salt lick.lol. but if you have normal taste buds, i'd reccomend not ordering anything with salt, like the wicked salty homestyle mashed potatoes, or even the chilli.tons of salt on everything, really. must be the chef, i'm hoping.i really hope the recipe isn't calling for such a heavy hand... i still prefer RICKS roadhouse, and prices, and service... but ricks doesn't give you all-you-can-eat peanuts and cinabuns.

My parents would go here every year in Daytona Beach and I always wondered what the big deal was....well. The bread service is amazing, sweet, hot, soft rolls as well as peanuts to get you started. The steaks are good for a chain and the sandwiches are really good too. Drink selection is typical. Service has always been decent. Very good value and generally a fun place to go.

I was craving steak one night and decided to come here with my boyfriend for dinner, beers and the Red Sox game. Used to love this place, but we felt like it's losing what shine it had when it first opened. Service was fantastic. We got the Baby Blossom for an appetizer, which was yummy (not the healthiest choice haha). The rolls and cinnamon/sugar buttter are always tasty. I ordered a ribeye and my boyfriend ordered a burger. We weren't impressed by either. We wished we had gone elsewhere that night. Oh well...

My husband loves the Roadhouse, so during tonight's "what do you want for dinner", "I dunno, what do you want" conversation he suggested steak and wanted some honky tonk in his life. Personally I am not a meat fan but even though it's a steakhouse I can always find something to eat and still leave full. We started off with their delicious rolls and cinnamon butter, so good. For an appetizer we decided to try the fried pickles (I'm pregnant.. fried PICKLES? Heck yeah! Sold.) which came nice and hot with dipping sauces. They were pretty good, our 2 year old was dipping away, but we brought most home so we wouldn't fill up on fried food. We got him some mini cheeseburgers and fries which he just picked at the fries but that's just because he eats like a bird. He was too busy coloring, they gave him some crayons and a kids menu/coloring page so he was in heaven. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with their delicious italian dressing and a loaded baked potato. Both were very good. My husband ordered sirloin steak and ribs with salad and a baked potato, he cleaned his plates. If I cooked heavily like that he'd happily be 450 lbs. The food has always been pretty solid when we come here, a little rich on the salt and butter and stuff but it's southern cooking so that's what they're going for. The one down fall of our trip was the service.. the girl was very nice, she checked on us several times, maybe she was just new because she didn't seem to know what she was doing. We had to ask for a few essential things like straws and utensils.. watching our son eat ice cream with a fork was only funny for so long. But we will definitely return, it's a nice casual night out and it's loud enough that the little guy blends in.

I went there recently and was not impressed with the service. I believe they need to better train their staff. The staff made mistakes at every turn on my meal. Forgetting bread, sliding the dishes at you, bent forks for everyone, neglecting to know the ingredients that can not be substituted and rushing you out. And I feel bad for all the people who have peanut allergies who can not even walk in the place because of all the peanut shells everywhere. Imagine waiting 40 minutes in the lobby to get into a restaurant. And then having to walk out because the air causes your throat to close.

GREAT steak!! As a steak lover, I was eager to try this restaurant while stopping by RI for lunch on our way to Boston during this Labor Day. Very tender and juicy medium rare ribeye, with mushroom and union on the top, two choice of sides. But the most memorable thing is their bread... YUMMY!! Love the taste and it goes well with the cinammon taste butter/cream... LOVE IT!! I will rate it somewhere between Peter Lugar and Outback!! I wish they had it here in NYC... sigh... =(

I was a bit disappointed when we came here last weekend. We have been to various other Texas Roadhouses' (Everett, North Darmouth, Nashua, NH, & Columbia, SC). I always had a great experience at those other locations, even on a Saturday night at 8 pm.... this time, not so great. We walk in and the hostess tells us the wait will be about 20 mins. Which isn't so bad. They have a nice big grassy lawn for the baby girl to play on. She was content with herself, and not causing a fuss. But the second they sat us it all started to go down hill. First off, no crayons and paper for the baby girl. What kind of family restaurant doesn't have crayons for the kids?! The waitress took forever to come to our table. When she finally came around for our drink order, our daughter was off the wall. I ordered her meal with our drinks. When her food came out she wasn't interested. So we ended up taking turns walking her around the restaurant. I had the Choice Cut, cooked medium with veggies and fries. My fiance had the Choice Cut as well (but he picked his from the case), veggies and mashed potatoes. And my brother ordered the Country Fried Chicken with fries and mashed potatoes (he doesn't do veggies). Well their meals came out excellent. Mine wasn't cooked the way I wanted it. It was more medium-well. I wasn't happy, but didn't want to send it back because the baby girl was in a bad mood. I love the Texas Roadhouse, but will not be going back to this location. Minus 2 stars because t was not the greatest experience we have had. I was not pleased with the service and I was not pleased with my meal. I was also pissed that they didn't have crayons for the kids there. I saw other kids getting antsy because they had nothing to do. Not to mention they have the weirdest hours. Looks like we will have to travel a little further to Worchester next time.

FREAKIN AWESOME. They serve you unlimited sweet rolls with this cinnamon butter that is so achingly good, you'll come back just for that! On top of the rolls, they have this one-of-a-kind awesome Italian dressing. It's a little on the honey mustard side but it's delish. As for the BBQ, I can't comment too much. I tried a rib and it was really good. i had the chicken tenders and they reminded me of the chicken tenders from Bugaboo Creek or Chilis. Very good. Update 4/4/08: Went back today and it wasn't as good as good as I remember. It took the waitress 20 minutes to take our drink order, and the "boneless buffalo wings" are just the very uniquely styled chicken strips with buffalo sauce on them. Those chicken strips are not meant to be mixed with buffalo sauce, just not the way they were made, dude. On the other hand, the buffalo sauce was awwwwsome by itself so I'd recommend just getting the bones if you want to try it. I was also kind of impressed that the big ass strawberry lemonade that my friend got (and i mean BIG ASS) was only 80 cents more than my soda (2.19 and 2.99. That's something noted tonight, their drinks are HUGE. Still loving on the rolls and italian dressing though. Oh and I tried some mashed potatoes and they were the bizzalls (good).

This a great casual place to go. If your looking for a quiet upscale evening this isn't the place. It is quite loud and the girls periodically dance to some music. I love the food..from the sweet buns with cinn. butter and the salad with lots of toppings to the fall off the bone ribs and crispy chicken critters. I cant say I really get their steak because their ribs are so good! Reasonably priced and I usually have left overs. It does get busy but they have call ahead. I have never waited to long. The wait staff always seems friendly. Great place!

the atmosphere of this place is great! the cinnamon butter soft rolls?! to die for! every time i want to go out to eat this place ALWAYS pops up in my head. staff is amazing always super nice. even when i was pregnant i asked if they could get me a non alcoholic drink w a water shot in it & sure enough lol. it was nice at least i got to blend in with my friends. lol if i was to put any complaint at all it would just be the desert menu. very limited selection not much to choose from. but understandable with their main focus being drinks. overall nice place def will be back their shortly!

I've been coming to this Texas Roadhouse several times a year since it first opened 10 years ago or so. I don't think once in that time that I've had a bad meal. We also have ordered takeout on several occasions. On this particular Saturday Night, there was no wait time even at 5:45PM, which is getting close to peak dinner time. Sabrina took good care of us, and kept the drink and bread refills coming. I had the 12 ounce prime rib, and it was melt in your mouth as usual. The mashed potatoes were nice and creamy, without any of the extras. To top it off, I had a nice house salad, and plenty of food left over for another day. My wife really enjoyed her rib eye steal as well. Is there anything I would improve? Not that much. Maybe an appetizer or two that is not fried. They also try to upsell you on sides like "loaded" mashed potatoes or grilled onions. Make sure you read the menu to avoid sticker shock.. A bigger dessert menu and some specials would be good. Still,I think Texas Roadhouse is the best of the casual chains such ad Outback and Longhorn.

I thoroughly enjoy Texas Roadhouse. I have never had a bad experience here and I always like my food and drinks. The rolls and cinnamon butter are amazing and you can basically get as many as you want, I've never been cut off lol. I usually get a steak, maybe the bbq chicken (sometimes both because they do have a combo for that) and there are a bunch of yummy sides to pick from. I've also ordered cocktails here in the past and they make a very tasty margarita. Sometimes it is a pain to wait, this mostly pertains to weekends and holidays like Mothers/Fathers Day. They have lots of parking and lots of seating and I've never had to wait a ridiculous amount of time. I've always had friendly servers and staff and the managers stop by the table to see how your meal is and if you need anything else. If you are looking for a quiet place for dinner I don't recommend it because it is a pretty rowdy place. Lots of families and kids and people celebrating birthdays.

My Favorite Chain Restaurant It hard for me to review a chain restaurant, because I am so adamantly against eating at them, but I am a fan of this one. Every time I go I have a pretty good steak usually under 20 bucks and you can add a side of delicious ribs for 7 more bucks. Tip: Great order, 16oz ribeye steak with a side of ribs and you can get 2 house salads for sides (weirdly one of my favorite salads), 27 bucks and you can split this between 2 people. They also give you free rolls to start your meal. You'll be full. They also have a 3 dollar 22oz beer special everyday. Two people can eat steak, ribs, and have a large beer for 40 bucks including tip. Unbeatable value. Thanks

If i could have given zero stars I would have. It isn't my first time at Texas Roadhouse but it was my last. The service wasn't horrible but the rest of the dining experience was; from cold food, all three guests steaks were grossly over cooked, bad fries, cold sides and dirty silverware. I ordered a med ribeye and could find a shred of pink in it. Disappointing to say the least.

So far every time we come everything goes smooth, the servers are friendly, the food is delicious and plenty. I would definitely recommend to anyone in R.I. For a chain restaurant is pretty good. Make sure if its only a couple to ask for one appetizer because they are huge specially the chilli-cheesefries.

Wild West Wednesdays are the best deal in town. For $9.99 you can order an 11oz Sirlion Steak dinner along with 2 sides. I've never had a bad steak here. Highly recommended. The service is good and the managers are out walking around making sure everyone's dinner is as ordered.

Went with a party of 5 on a Tuesday night. Food was delicious, service was horrible. We had quite possibly the easiest order. 5 x roadhouse margaritas & 5 x country-fried steaks. The drinks took so long, our meals came out first. Then we cut into our steaks and found out it was all chicken! The dumb ass waitress tried telling us it's what we ordered, but I'm pretty sure I didn't order chicken since I don't even eat chicken! Our drinks came in between her switching our meals. We sucked the drinks down and promptly ordered another round (had to get up and grab the waitress). After we were done eating about 25 minutes later we asked for the check. The drinks showed up with the check, which we told her we no longer wanted because we were ready to leave. I've been here before, and always remember it being too busy for itself. I know nothing about food service, but if plenty of other restaurants can figure out great service, why can't Texas Roadhouse? Their food and drinks are still fantastic though.

the atmosphere of this place is great! the cinnamon butter soft rolls?! to die for! every time i want to go out to eat this place ALWAYS pops up in my head. staff is amazing always super nice. even when i was pregnant i asked if they could get me a non alcoholic drink w a water shot in it & sure enough lol. it was nice at least i got to blend in with my friends. lol if i was to put any complaint at all it would just be the desert menu. very limited selection not much to choose from. but understandable with their main focus being drinks. overall nice place def will be back their shortly!

Good price, Good service, good steak size, fantastic restaurant in Cranston. They have a very special service when you enter into the restaurant. They would rather let you choose the chose the raw beef by yourself and cook it for you.

Oh well...

we sat at the bar.

I love it!

Ribs and steak fries app was perfect size. Grilled chicken good well. Nice tangy sauce. Guiness in a can. Waitress was a little dumb. Good size portions. I don't like line dancing or the birthday song and got both. Overall satisfied

I NEVER go to chain restaurants but this is a great place. The salad is always nice and cold, steak cooked to perfection and very attentive waitstaff

Delicious!

I wish they had it here in NYC... sigh... =(
