Probably the best Thai in Rhode Island! Try their drunken noodles...delicious! Great BYOB and friendly staff! Water view! Great selection and well priced! Chicken satay and shrimp tempura are great starters! Their pineapple fried rice is OMG good! I'm now a frequent visitor!

Meh, Seafoid and beef rather old....expensive for the amount and quality. It was dead on arrival when they charged us for rice. No food porn, need to save the film.

I give Rim Nahm an optimistic 3! I love many things about this restaurant. The details show the owners care very much about this place. The table clothes are pretty and colorful. The view of the water is spectacular. The little iron tables and chairs outdoors are cute and lovely (tip: 2 per table, 2 tables total outside, very small). The waitress was so friendly and attentive. This place is also BYOB! There's a liquor store across the street in case you forget. The 3 is solely based off of the one meal I have had here during my first try: the vegetable tofu pad Thai. The tofu seemed a little old and too deep fried. Some of the zucchini seemed a little odd in flavor. And I've been to so many Thai restaurants and they add a good amount of peanut sauce/peanuts. This take on this recipe was a few sprinkled peanuts, but no peanut in the sauce. I think it was a traditional fish sauce. It wasn't my cup of tea, but that's just my particular taste. If I rated this restaurant solely on location and view, it would receive a 5! I love that it's nestled right in the east side of Cranston overlooking the Pawtuxet. Dining inside or on their little deck (very narrow.... Think fire escape?), is not to be missed! It's a unique spot. Make sure to check out Dear Heart Ice Cream next door for a nice after dinner treat!

This would have been a five star review for the food and location alone, but... um... well, I'll get to that. First, food. I have a friend whose family lives around the corner, and he says that the mango curry here is what converted him to Thai food. That's something of a ringing endorsement. When we were there, unsurprisingly, that's what he ordered. I would have been a convert too. Smooth, tangy, coconut-milk-rich broth on the mango curry, just perfectly done mango, crunchy vegetables. Yeah, perfect. I got the pad see-ew, a benchmark for me, and it was AMAZING. Again, perfectly cooked vegetables, excellent spicing, just right. In addition to the amazing noodles, we got some tasty apps and Thai iced tea, all for a very reasonable price. It was torrentially pouring when we were there, so I didn't get to experience their cute little outdoor seating area, but it did LOOK very nice, and I hope to go back again and try it out. But remember I said it wasn't quite a 5? Here's the catch: there was a large black ant in my noodles. I found it when I'd almost finished, and the noodles tasted fantastic anyway, but ant. (Do note, I assume based on everything else that this was a fluke and would still go back.)

The food here is consistently delicious and simple. It is also always quick. I have never even waited 15 minutes after ordering for my food to arrive at the table. There is plenty of indoor seating, generally better suited to groups under 6 people. If it weren't for the lackluster service, this would be 5 stars. However, I have been here a number of times were getting drinks and my check was quite slow, especially if other tables are present. Sometimes, they just need more than one waiter.

What a delight. We stumbled upon this place as a result of getting lost, being very hungry, and wanting to sit outside in the sun on a beautiful May day. My hubby noticed a small sign that said outdoor seating so we hung a left into Rim Nahm. At first sight, it's small and dim. Owner says it gets busy around 7pm for takeout orders. These people have probably never seen the back deck. Nestled past the indoor dining area on an iron deck is a wrap around balcony (as narrow as a firescape). At the far end overlooking the water and boats is one small iron table and two chairs. A perfect, exclusive little spot perfect for our Sunday lunch. We ordered pad see eew, fresh spring rolls, and shrimp rolls. We drank soda water and lemon. Affordable, fresh, and yummy. Happy to return.

Amazing Thai food, which is affordable and staff is very sweet. Everyone should try this place, as a nice view as well!

Awesome freaking food, excellent staff, BYOB a total plus. Great place for lunch/dinner in the village.

Best Thai food I ever had. 3 or 4 different Ladies that cook, so depending on who is preparing your dish, it may taste slightly different from one time to another. My favorite the Spicy Pineapple Fried Rice!!!! A hidden Gem.

Love this place! The Pad Thai is amazing. Every time my fiancé and I are in Rhode Island we make it a point to stop here for dinner. Great service too.

The Huz and I decided to head over to Rim Nahm after saying we were going to try it for quite some time. We both ordered the Hot and Sour soup (he got the shrimp, I got the chicken). When it arrived it tasted like tomato basil soup with a touch of lime. It wasn't unpleasant, just unexpected. We've had this soup at many places and it never really had this flavor. For the entree's I got the Drunken Noodles with chicken and the Mr. went for the beef salad. I love spicy food so I was really looking forward to giving these a try. Unfortunately the small portion of noodles was a big bland tan pile in the middle of a small plate. Even adding crushed chili's didn't help this one out. The Mr said the beef salad was ok but nothing to write home about. Positive points: Service was attentive and pleasant. Food came out quickly and was hot BYOB Not so positive points: lack of flavor view was impeded by over grown trees small portions overpriced I'd go back if I was in a pinch but this will definitely not be a destination for me.

Fresh and Flavorful! The food is fantastic and so is the view! I've eaten here a handful of times and it seems to me that the portions are now larger than they were a year ago. Even though the prices have been raised a bit that's fine with me. Only inherent problem here is the size. It seems to me that the reason they only have one waitress is because of the small size of the place. During the busiest times she is spread to thin doing absolutely EVERYTHING besides cooking. Too much for one person and the level of service is compromised. For example: You may receive your appetizer and meal at the same time and wait longer than you should for both. (that's what happened to us.) The food is so good that I believe it's well worth the wait! Next time we will bring our own alcohol and probably not notice the wait.

This hole-in-the-wall place will surprise you! Gorgeous water view and fun decorations. Food is great :)

The Drunken Noodle has been a staple of my diet since I moved back to RI. It's one of the only Thai dishes around that satisfies my need for burning nostrils. It's basily and burns with flavor! For an app I usually do the scallion cakes... something light and soft to absorb the fire I am about to put inside myself. The view of the Pawtuxet river flowing into the bay is priceless. The deck only accommodates two two-tops, it's a great place for some one-on-one, or one-on-two, but not more then one-on-three. Recently visited and remembered why this has always been one of my favorite spots in the village! Oh yeah- It's BYOB- so save some cash and grab some bombah's on the way in. I recommend a nice, hoppy IPA to pair with the Drunken Noodle!

Oh. My. Goodness. Best Pad Thai I've ever had!!!!! (and at a great price, ~$9) The restaurant is cute and cozy- it wasn't too crowded when we went (7pm, Saturday) but I could see how it could quickly get that way. I'd call ahead just in case (they take reservations). Our party of 4 was attended to quickly and the meals took a bit of time- but do remember that all their dishes are made from scratch and as the menu says "time is an ally". They take the time to properly prepare all of their dishes, and let me tell you it is worth the wait!!! It's BYOB which is an added touch :)

I love this place and I love the owner. Try tipping the waitress for your take out food and see a smile that will totally light up your day. Food is great, and they have BYOB. It boasts a water view (meaning of the name), which it does have, but be forewarned that the decor and ambiance are very CASUAL. I find it a bit overpriced for Thai food, but does the trick in a pinch when there's no energy left for cooking. My usual: Mango chicken curry Brown rice Thai iced tea YUM.

  • Jay C.

Definitely disappointed. Had the Tom Yam Kung (spicy shrimp soup) and Drunken noodles. Soup was dreadful, far too sweet, barely any shrimp and mostly tasted of diluted tomato soup, no lemongrass notes at all. Drunken noodles were bland and uninteresting. Service was slow and inattentive (amazing, considering there were only 4 tables of 2 occupied). Won't be returning.

I'm always on the lookout for a restaurant that delivers consistently good value and makes me feel like I am truly welcome. It's why I like neighborhood Mom & Pop's and NEVER patronize the national chains. When the owner is serving you or is in the kitchen, you know you're going to get their best shot. Here the meal is prepared not according to a formula disseminated from a corporate office, rather handed (not written) down from mother to daughter, father to son. Rim Nahm is such a place. First a word about proximity. It is nestled in Pawtuxet Village, right on the bridge overlooking the cove and its marina. Nice. The view from your table is good, not great, but it beats looking out a window at Staples' dumpster. Another stroke of genius is the liquor store right next door... as a BYOB that means a slice of convenience with your value, sir. You can order your meal and run next store to select the perfect accompaniment AFTER your decision's been made. Lastly, when you leave, walk out the door, turn right and there's an ice cream shop. The service is good. Vyvy (our server) was lovely but got stretched a little thin as the place filled up. No matter; when you finally get your check the bottom line will make you smile. Very fair prices, perfect (for me) serving size, you leave Rim Nahm neither too heavy in the gut nor too light in the pocket. But the food is the story. As a cook myself (note the lack of the word "chef") I like to experience cuisine I can't make at home... and I would never attempt Thai food like this at home. Fresh ingredients, prepared over your shoulder in a small but efficient kitchen and each course is served up in perfect cadence. I've four dishes and each has been excellent. I particularly admire the lightness and delicate hand applied to the sauces. They complement the core, unlike many Asian spots who use sauces as masking agents. I recommend Rim Nahm and look forward to returning to my new favorite Thai haunt. P.S: If you haven't experienced Pawtuxet Village in a while, its worth the trip. The perennial Wickford wannabe has made great strides in recent years.

Awesome Thai food right on the Pawtuxet. The food is clean, fresh and delicious. They have one table out on a small patio overlooking the river. Quite an intimate and special place to enjoy a meal especially if you get the outside table on a nice summer evening!

  • Laura M.

When we walked in, I was a bit hesitant, as it looked like a little dive, but I'm glad we decided to be brave and go in. The waitress was very sweet, and the food was very good. We had the chicken satay, pad thai, some sort of pork dish with ginger, which was delicious, and an unusual version of Tom Yum soup, and summer rolls. All of these were different than other versions of the same dishes I've had elsewhere, but they were still good. The Pad Thai didn't have much in the way of peanuts or any sauce on the side, but it was good. The summer rolls were good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the thick hoisin type of sauce that was served with it, I'm used to a very light, clear, sauce. But the BYOB factor was definitely great, and the service was nice, we would definitely go back :)

Rim Nahm has become a regular on our Friday night rotation. There are normally four of us us and in the 2 years or more we've been dining here we've yet to have a bad meal. Having traveled extensively, I can say this is some of the best Thai food 'Ive had outside of Thailand. The owner always greets us with a smile, the place is small, so can fill up, but the wait has never been long. Normally one waitress handles the whole restaurant, so if it's busy, you may wait a little bit for service, but considering every dish is prepared from scratch, I feel the food come out pretty quickly. It'd definitely worth any wait you may have. I've tried quite a lot of the menu and can vouch for it all so far, but I keep coming back to the chicken satay, and drunken noodles with chicken, extra spicy. That's right, they will cook almost any dish to your preferred spiciness level. All in all, we always look forward to dining at Rim Nahm, nice welcome, friendly service, great food at a reasonable price and BYOB, what more do you need.

Let me some things up for the reader. When you order a curry dish don't you expect it do come with rice? When you order Pad Kee Mow don't you expect it to come with noodles? After all, a curry dish without the rice is just soup and veggies. Pad means noodle in Thai, so one would expect Pad Kee Mow to automatically come with the noodles. Except....not here! Rice and noodles are considered "side dishes" and there is an extra charge for this. How bizarre. I've eaten in a lot of Thai restaurants and have never experienced the "ala carte" menu. Soo....when I found out there was an extra charge for my rice to accompany my mango curry I promptly ordered the Pad Thai. Can't really leave out the "Pad" in this, since there really isn't much else to this dish. Unfortunately, my companion ordered the Pad Kee Mow and ended up with a plate of sauteed veggies and tofu. The noodles came after (once we were enlightened), but they weren't cooked with the dish, so it was just a side dish of steamed noodles. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. I wish they had offered to remake her entree. Anyways, I regress to my Pad Thai...bland, bland, bland (and a small portion of bland at that). They piled on the bean sprouts, but the sprouts were cold, so it chilled my dish down rather quickly. Overall, a disappointing experience. On the positive, the restaurant itself is very charming and nicely decorated. You can dine by the water and its BYOB (without a corking fee...big plus!)

I finally visited Rim Nahm after hearing my friend rave about it for the past year or so. I knew it was a BYOB Thai restaurant and I didn't have high hopes for the ambiance factor. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked to the back of the restaurant to a cute little room overlooking the Pawtuxet River. I got the Won ton soup to start...it had a little too much cilantro for my taste, but it was hot and dumplings were tasty. The mango fried rice was heavenly. It was nice and light with a good combination of raisins, shrimp and cashews. The drunken noodles with chicken had a nice spice to them. Being a huge fan of sweet potatoes, my favorite entree dish was the Massaman Curry. To summarize, all of the food was hot and extremely fresh. It all tasted fairly light and everything was nicely spiced and flavorful. Our waitress was a sweetheart and kept our waters refilled. I'm definitely planning a trip back with my hubby.

1.) BYOB. 2.) Yellow curry is by far the best thing I've had on the menu. Other things I've ordered were all good: tofu dishes, drunken noodle, basil chicken, fresh and crispy spring rolls. 3.) Confession: my husband and I eat here quite frequently and we have come to love the staff, so I may be a bit partial. Like any restaurant, especially Thai with such a large menu, there are certain things they do a little bit better. However, they are so friendly and personable, that even if the food is so, so (which has never been my experience), it's still a great experience. 4.) outdoor dining is GORGEOUS in the summer.

I've been here twice. The first time was a definite five - the waitress was really friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. We shared drunken noodles, spring rolls and pad thai, all delicious. Tonight, the (different) waitress was friendly but very soft spoken and a little slow. We sat outside for the view, which was nice but a little smelly due to the river. There was only one other couple finishing up inside. We had chicken satay for a starter, the texture of the chicken was almost too soft, like processed meat. Then my pad thai was borderline repulsive - I'm not sure if the river smell was messing me up but I also think they used old oil. I kind of forced myself to eat it. My husband got the pork racha and that was just okay, the pork was pretty dry. So this experience brings it to a 3. I'm not sure I would go back.

I went there with three other friends and the place was not very crowded...only two tables....we got seated and I ordered the Mango Fried rice, I asked for light oli and light sauce...The dish came light and not greasy at all. The other dish I tried was very oily and very dark (too much sauce)...I am glad I asked for a ligher version. The food is OK, the service is a bit slow, but the food is passable. I would still choose Apsara or Pakarang in the area, but a good choice in Pawtuxet Village.

What a great little hole in the wall! Party of four ate there recently, wanted to try it for some time. I was somewhat concerned as the reviews were sort of love it-hate it type. The food was really good. Tom Yam Seafood soup was exceptional. Excellent Fresh Spring Rolls and Crab Shumai. Entrees were very tasty. Service was attentive. We were given appropriate time to explore the menu and the food arrived quickly and hot. The place is small, but it wasn't crowded, so noise level was not at issue. And since it's BYOB, the tab was quite reasonable. We'll put Rim Nahm in our restaurant rotation.

I really want to love this place. I love to support local businesses. I'm rating based on one take out order. I was a bit disappointed with the basil fried rice, it was not spicy at all, but the masiman curry was to die for. I am rating 4 based on the service and the food. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes and will update my rating.

I like Thai food and seek it out wherever I visit. I live in RI now and have been to most all the Thai restaurants that show up on a Google search. Rim Nahm is not close to the highway system, which is a disadvantage - but I did chase it down now a couple of times and consider it one of the better Thai choices in the area. My favorite thus far is mango fried rice, but what I do when I come is eat one entree there and take one to go. Rim Nahm is small and like so many Thai places a small staff - sometimes very friendly, sometimes more reserved. Whatever, the food IMHO is excellent. The backroom water view is a bonus also. Now that I know it I try to find errands to do such that I can do a side trip to eat. The hours are funky so check as I'm not sure they are doing lunch anymore - maybe only summer time, but you might call to check.

This place is terrible. I am Thai and this is not authentic. I could barely finish my Tom Yam soup and larb. I will not go back.

BYOB, cheap and so tasty! I have been a few times and each time I like to try something new, haven't been disappointed yet. Tried the noddles, curries, a variety of their starters and a few of their rice dishes - all so good and large enough that you will have leftovers to bring home.

This is our go-to place for take out in the village. Fresh, good portions, nice flavors. They were totally overwhelmed the first year or so, but seemed to have figured that out by now. The satay is excellent, as is the nime chow. The ground chicken salad is great ... it has lime juice, red pepper flakes, red onions, lettuce and is that wonderful Thai combination of spicy, sweet, sour, etc. Curries are good, though I always feel the green curry is too watery, but tastes great.

  • Andrew S.

Best Thai we have found in area. Most dishes including the laab and curries are authentic. Place is very small and food is made fresh so be prepared for a wait if they are busy. It is byob so don't forget to stop on the way.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Rhode Island, or anywhere for that matter. The food is amazing. The Pad Garlic happens to be my favorite, but I have never come here and gotten something that I didn't love. The staff there are also wonderful. You can't go wrong here.

Great setting, fresh, healthy, tasty food, friendly service, and you can order brown rice on the side! I've been to almost every thai and cambodian-pretending-to-be-thai restaurant in the area, and this is one of my favorites. Definitely worth the short drive from Providence.
