The tuna tower was amazing I cannot wait to have it again! I love how it tasted with the seaweed salad & rice. The bread & oil was extremely tasty as well, with a little kick. My husband had a swordfish served on the bone and he loved it. He said it was the best swordfish he's ever tasted. I had a ravioli special that had mushrooms, projuitto, asparagus and I think mascarpone cheese. It was really good! My dirty martini was good and although they didn't have the wine my husband preferred he still enjoyed 3 glasses of the one he gave himwe went in to see my friend Natalie and are so glad we did! We will definitely be back

Booked a reservation online for 3 people this past Friday - very easy process, even got a text to confirm the reservation. Got there around 6pm, our waitress, Marissa was awesome. Very knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered calamari for an app - we didn't know which one we wanted, so she suggested we get it plain and the 3 different sauces on the side - this way the calamari stays crispy. What a great idea! We got the balsamic reduction, marina and a lemon garlic butter. I dipped into all 3 and they were all good! Great suggestion! I had a half order of risotto with chicken (still good size portion for only a half order at $9!). The others ordered short ribs and the chicken milanese special. My risotto was good but felt it could've used a bit more seasoning. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Everyone else liked their meals. Nice modern setup with good size bar. Clientele was a mix between older couples and families as I guess that's what the community is filled with (Western Cranston). Wouldn't mind trying again but would also like to try the EG location which I hear is just as good if not better.

Party of 4. Went on a Thursday night around 6 , no reservation. Place was empty then filled up quick. They had a couple of big parties going on Service was very slow but it was because they were definitely understaffed. I had lychee martini and my friend got pear, both drinks very good. Hubby got red sangria and loved it. Ordered apps, calamari with balsamic reduction and coconut shrimp, very good- came hot to table A+ hubby got butternut squash tortellini dish, friends got baked pasta with shrimp and prosciutto added (They added $12 to bill for the extras, little high for the amount received) and the Fra Diablo w/sausage and clams, I got the chickpea salad special All the food was great. Only complaint was the service was slow. Place was clean, servers friendly would go back again

My husband and I went to Fresco Too with five of our friends. Our party of seven was seated in a room for large parties. We had the room all to ourselves it was great. Three people in the group ordered a special that was a swordfish chop. Was the BEST Swordfish we ever had, all the food was outstanding! Diane was the Best she told us when we order our appetizers we should put our entrée in because everything is made to order and it will take about a half-hour to cook so we would not have to wait long for our food. Amazing food and service and a memorable evening out with friends!!!

We tried Fresco for Easter Brunch and the food was phenomenal. We had a choice of either the buffet or menu items. We chose the buffet. Superb! The items were, scrambled eggs, western scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon, French toast, pancakes etc... The lunch type items were just as delicious. Prime rib, roasted turkey breast, a stuffed pork tenderloin and delicious baked ham. Very nice sides too. The only bad thing was the price was 17.95, which was for the brunch and either a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary. Which we didn't mind paying. My stepfather and niece each ordered an orange juice and instead of replacing that with the alcoholic drink they charged $2 for their juices. So I had to specifically order a non-alcoholic Mimosa in order to get what was supposed to come with the price. They also charge you per cup of coffee, at $2.50 a cup! We weren't told this beforehand otherwise we wouldn't have ordered them or as many as we had. Most people drink coffee with breakfast so if a person isn't getting a Mimosa or Bloody Mary you can't give them the coffee to replace it?! If it weren't for drink issue I would have given 5 stars.

After passing Fresco every day on my commute, it was high time to check it out, and what a delight it was when I did! Fresco Too is the latest in a number of restaurants that have inhabited this transformed warehouse, and fair to say I think it has staying power. While the exterior is well maintained, it's industrial setting is a bit off-putting. Rest assured, the interior décor is cozy, inviting and rivals the ambiance of any 4-star restaurant. My party of four enjoyed an early Sunday dinner and was one of just a few patrons at the early hour, but the crowd soon followed And anyone entering the door was quickly greeted by the friendly staff. The large, inviting bar seems to be a very popular spot, and one that I'll come back to for my next visit. Everything about my experience was very good or exceptional. Large menu offers something for everyone, including a nice selection of gluten free entrees. I fell in love with the strawberry spinach salad, and could have made a meal of that in itself! The Caesar salad (with meatball!) was a bit overdressed for my liking but the tasty, moist meatball made up for it. And the chicken picata was delish. My dining companions also enjoyed their selections -- scallops and angel hair pasta, seafood linguini and shrimp risotto. As others have reported, portions are very generous, and we all left with leftovers. Perhaps even better than the meal was the graciousness and professionalism of our server, James. Can't recall ever having a better restaurant server -- super friendly, extremely accommodating and very helpful with menu suggestions (right down to a few very honest and candid "don't order" recommendations). James is the kind of guy you could just talk to all night, and we did! He told us he formerly worked at Spain and Marchetti's, where he clearly earned his server "chops," and it shows. If you dine at Fresco Too, I hope James is part of your experience because he made my first trip to Fresco Too definitely not my last. Very good food and excellent service. You'll be glad you dined here!

Love Fresco Too! The strawberry mango spinach salad is incredible! Definitely my new favorite salad ever! The eggplant parm was so delicious and the eggplant was perfect, most restaurants get it too crunchy or too mushy this was that perfect medium! Red sangria is awesome! My friend got a hot and dirty and loved it and she ordered the chicken risotto and the spicy tuna tower and couldn't get enough! Love the location so happy western Cranston now has a go to spot! Be back soon!

Absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Server was knowledgable and checked on us often. The manager Judy checked on us as well. I had a lobster pasta that was delish. My husband had a lamb osso bucco that was tender and yummy. My 9 year old had a baked pasta that he loved. The peach sangria was awesome. We will definitely be back.

Our first experience at the Cranston location was on Halloween but there was nothing scary about it lol. Have been to East Greenwich location many times and have never been disappointed. Looks like we have another place to go closer to home. The service and food were exceptional. Can't wait to go back .

The food is delicious They try, but light on ambience Go WELL before you're hungry It's too quiet on a weekday evening here, so the very-audible 80s soul they're piping in elicited a grimace...but we sat down for a try at a place very local to us, well-rated thus far. My family loved our dinner here. The kids enjoyed pizza and lasagna. My wife had the Lobster Frescatore, and I had the Tossed Lasagna. Each bite was somewhere between good to excellent. Despite big portions, our plates were mostly clean by the time we were done. Also, I enjoyed that they had half portions at a commensurate price, as full portions were very nearly monstrous. The menu is varied and expansive (several pages of appetizers, salads, pasta, meat and fish entrees, and desserts). The wine list is extensive and enjoyable ($7-10/glass, bottles run the popular gamut across styles). The cocktail list is creative and playful (first inside page of the menu). The beer offering is tight yet capable (3 OK drafts and about 8 bottle selections). But the wait? Oh MAN. Dinner for a family of four took two full hours from sit-down to check-paid. Even on my most slow-paced date night, that's stretching it. Judi was a gracious, friendly, and capable server - and she gave us a free dessert for the long wait. Thank you, Judi...but this was tough regardless. If you can wait patiently, you'll be rewarded. If you're in a rush? Call well ahead and get some deliciousness to go.

Everything was phenomenal. Ricotta platter to start was refreshing, chicken risotto was wonderful and the baked pasta exceeded expectations. Service was attentive and friendly. I will most certainly return.

The food too forever to come out and was only mediocre once we did receive it. Also the bar and dining room have no separation which leaves ambience as less than desirable. It feels like you're eating less than adequate food in an old poorly decorated office building. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money here.

Fresco Too is our date night spot. In fact, we have reservations for this Saturday!!! It is located in an industrial looking building but is really nice inside. The food is always amazing, whether it is off the specials list or the regular menu. The scallops, like everything else here, are always perfectly cooked and one of my favorites. The shrimp and scallop appetizer is delicious and served on top of a fried risotto cake with a perfectly seasoned red sauce. Prices are comparable to a place like Siena or anywhere on Federal Hill, and you get to avoid city parking. The bartenders here are great. I love that they have a sweet and savory martini menu. Try the Hot and Dirty but ask for it extra hot and absolutely filthy with blue cheese stuffed olives and the Hot peppers. Their wine list is perfectly rounded and has great pairings regardless of what you order. I also love the drink menu for dessert. The Hot chocolate with Rum Chata is a perfectly sweet end to a delicious dinner. My favorite quality of Fresco Too is the service. I have always had the most amazing, attentive waiters. A truly good restaurant has a knowledgeable staff who can explain and answer questions about the menu. Fresco does a great job of picking their staff because they are wonderful. If you say "This pasta sounds good, but I'm not really into a cream sauce," they are there to offer suggestions on what would really taste best based off the other ingredients in the dish and not just let you blindly pick a substition off a list. I also love that they are willing to substitute! They don't even blink when you ask which is nice because that means food isn't already made and waiting in a microwave, they are actually putting your dish together back in the kitchen. I cannot recommend this place enough. It's the perfect place to have a nice, delicious dinner. The menu is modern with new dishes and different ingredients. I'm so glad Yelp helped me find it in the first place!

Our first time there. The food and service were great. We had Marissa and would request her again. The portions are huge and we definitely will keep that in mind the next time. My one complaint is that the tables are very close together and you can hear other tables conversations etc. Not very romantic but other than that. The bar is great and next time we will go and sit there and order one of the various wood grilled pizzas!

Fresco opened a new restaurant in Cranston! We have been loyal fans of the original Fresco in East Greenwich for years, their newest location is around the corner from our house. We stopped in this past Saturday of their soft opening weekend. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We started with delicous martini's from their list of handcrafted cocktails... I had the oceanspray, fresh basil with squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice & vodka served in a frozen glass (amazing!) My friend had the seniorita, a spicy mango margarita it was delicious! We took our servers recommendation and started with the Fresco bisque, with scallops & clams with potatoes. Next we had our favorite steak carbone (the signature dish from the original fresco) & the lobster frescotore. We couldn't tell that this restaurant had only been open for 1 day. Everything was delicious & served in a timely manner. I can't wait to go back!

We are regulars here and have never had a bad or even mediocre experience. The food is fresh, the menu varied, the staff friendly and the ambience comfortable. Daily specials and 1/2 price appetizers at the bar are a treat. Interesting wine selections. Highly recommended.

I had never heard of Fresco until we were given a gift card here. It's in western Cranston in a small industrial park, just not an area we travel frequently. The staff was incredibly friendly and prompt; the ambiance could have been kicked up a notch. I ordered a cocktail that was grapefruit juice and vodka muddled with basil. It was so good I got two! I ordered their Steak Carbone, which they mentioned they were noted for, as it comes with a spicy steak sauce. I like spicy so I was looking forward to it. My husband got a seafood pasta dish. I have to say, I was disappointed in my steak. The sauce was more sweet than spicy and just not what I would have ordered had they marketed it that way. It was almost like a sweet teriyaki with no hint of heat at all. My husband enjoyed his meal though. The saving grace for me was the crusty bread, delicious drinks, and great service. I might try it again, but would probably go with a more traditional Italian dish.

We went for brunch on a Sunday. Place was empty, they did not have our reservation and we then waited for them to set a table. The food was ok. They did not seem prepared for a 10 am rush of people. There were only 3 parties including my party dining there. Food was running out of the buffet and they were very slow to replace and dessert was not ready. We felt rushed by our server who gave us the check after 30 minutes. No one was waiting so why push us along? The worst was the pastry chef brining out the box of cannoli shells plopping it on the counter and pipping the filling! Maybe they should stick to dinner and scrap brunch if you cannot execute it. I was embarrassed to take my mother there after I told them this was a good place.

I've been here for the third time and I'm feeling a decline in service, menu creativity, and value. I had a 15 dollar appetizer that featured one shrimp and one scallop (both medium in size) on a piece of polenta. It needed better seasoning, the shrimp was overlooked, and the presentation was blah. They used to have a pretty good cheese plate and now they offer an okay antipasto. I may go back, but only if pressed for time, as its close and never has a wait. For the dinner you would expect here done right, I recommend Sienna in north Smithfield.

We had to be in cranston for an appointment so found this place by accident. We got to the restaurant right when it opened and were seated right away. The waiter was vacuuming the window sills but stopped when we walked in. He was telling the manager he wants to be sure he gets to all the windows. It was nice to see the waiter was making sure the place was clean. Now about the food, it was excellent. The person I was with had a 1/2 portion of the lasagna. The pasta was hand made and well More than 1/2 an order. I had the vegetable risotto and it was fresh. Our waiter was great until he gave us our food, then he was no where to be found. He was cleaning and setting up the bar area. While I think it is great the waiter is invested in the restaurant it would have been nice to be checked on a few times. When the waiter did come back we asked for boxes and the tiramisu. It was homemade and great! If it wasn't for the waiter this would have been a 5+ star rating and k place we will try again.

We Love Cafe Freso in EG so the bar was held high for Fresco Too, it did not disappointment us! We sat at the bar to eat, great comfy area. It takes up about 30% of the restaurant. I had the salmon with pesto and it was deeeelish, the broccoli rabi was perfectly seasoned with roasted garlic and scrumptious, too good to be healthy but who cares when your treating yourself to a new restaurant! My husband had the NY strip and it was cooked to perfection, he practically licked the plate clean! OMG I just spotted eggplant-wedges from the couple on the side of us, the cheese is oozing out, I wonder if they would mind sharing? Surly they cant eat all of that!

We like sitting at the bar. Bar tenders are attentive. Place is clean, in an unusual but incognito sleeper of a spot. Perfect possible Rhode Island hideaway. Diverse menu. Lots of wine selections. Tasty cocktails. Parking is plenty. Worth the drive.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
