This is a cute barkery. It screams Panera . Because it's so new the staff was a wee bit disheveled. I ordered a cup of tomato basil soup. It's good. The croutons are delicious. We ordered hot chocolate made with whole milk, very good. Great for a cold night. It is a welcomed addition to the bad selection of eateries in garden city.

Had the cinnamon cream crumb cake. It was moist and pretty good but nothing to rave about. Hubby had a slice of the pumpkin roll. That was really good. Better than the cinnamon. Also had the vanilla whoopee cookie. The filling was waaaay too sweet, but the cookie part was good. I had the Chai Latte, initially it tasted week but after three sips it got a little stronger which I expect and love in a chai latte...well chai anything. Overall it was just good. Not great. Probably wouldn't return because of all the similar options in the area. Nothing is calling me back.

The sandwich bread had the size and shape of a hotdog bun. The food was tasty though. I got a combo meal with the 3 lentil soup and mozzarella cheese sandwich. Quality of food = 4/5 Quantity = meh! I could have ordered an extra cookie may be! Management: Pls make your sandwich little bigger - and wider may be! ;) Expensive = $$-$$$ Value for money = meh! Overall experience was good. I might come back and just order the soup.

I've been frequenting CBC a lot lately. I just left CBC actually. I really, really enjoy it. I've never had a bad experience here. In fact every time I go the staff seems to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. All of my 10 million questions have been answered and I've never had to worry about side-eye or sighs coming from the staff. I usually opt for the breakfast panini with sourdough bread, eggs, bacon and cheese. I am obsessed. Real bacon people. Not microwaved sogginess you find in some other sandwiches. I also get the cinnamon roll which is just perfection. If you time it right you can get one that was just recently iced and dear lord I'm here for it. Today I stopped in for an early dinner and got the chicken pesto cavatappi and it was delicious. I'm also a fan of their hibiscus lemonade which is super refreshing. The restaurant is spacious and on my first visit I was a bit confused about where to order or who to order from so just know that you walk straight to the back and make your order there. You can opt to stand in the front and wait for your food or have a seat and a server will bring your meal to you. There are lots of seating options, booths, small tables, hi tops and stool seating near the front for a quick bite. The place is super clean and I notice there is always someone walking around wiping down surfaces and tidying up the coffee and drink stations. They also offer catering and online ordering. I honestly could eat here every day. They have tons of options and you can basically get breakfast any time of day. They have good hours and if you're shopping in Garden City I highly recommend stopping in and giving it a try.

While I want to like Corner Bakery Cafe, there are just too many things amiss to make it so. Sure, it's a good option for grabbing and going when you shopping GC, they have free WiFi if you need a place to sit and work, and it's absolutely enormous inside (deceptively so -- I was shocked upon entering), but that's kind of all it has going for it, unfortunately. I ran in to grab something quick to satiate my out-of-nowhere hunger, and was confused when I saw so many places to sit but nary a person to help me out. It was only after craning my neck that I saw the counter in way, way back of the ginormous space. I made my way there only to be ignored by the 20-something people working there, one of which was coughing all over the food preparation counter and some poor guys Philly Cheesesteak and soup. The lone person working the cash register and taking orders was having a pleasant conversation with the woman in front of me, and taking forever to do it, as if I was invisible. Finally, it was my turn to order, and I asked for a bagel toasted with cream cheese and a water. She repeated my order back to me, but missed half of it. Once that was settled, I paid and asked if I had time to run to the restroom while they got my bagel together. She said I did, so off I went. Upon my return, there were another fifteen people working behind the counter, no one in line or waiting for an order, and my bagel hadn't even been toasted yet. I guess you could say I was a tad annoyed. The bagel itself was good -- I actually enjoyed it -- but the customer service, the level of service and the people they've hired to perform said service need some serious work. I was grossed out and annoyed, so I probably won't ever come back here for anything, especially when I can walk a few doors down and ave a fabulous lunch at B.Good or go a little further for a sit-down lunch at Bistro 22. Do better, Corner Bakery. You have so much going for you!

This place stinks! We normally like this place but the last few times have been filled with disappointment. My fiance reminded me that this is the third time they forgot the tomatoes and bacon on his mac and cheese, which he paid extra for. Currently we are waiting 20 minutes for the newly made mac and cheese since the previously made one was served hard and hardly edible. To think we paid 20 bucks for this? My food was edible but nothing to write home about. Perhaps we should have thought back to last summer when an attendant dropped my fiances father's food in his lap. Or today when we were greeted by fruit flies by the lemons at the drink station. Needless to say we didnt drink the hibiscus lemonade we looked forward to. What a disgrace. Update: when we finally got the mac n cheese a half hour later it was freezing cold and missing tomatoes. If i could give no stars I would. Very upsetting.

after visiting both corner bakeries in RI and having a few problems here and there, i came in on a Sunday at dinner time. the place had more employees than customers. We then found out they have changed the salads. They are a little more out of the norm now and upset my fiance. I ordered a steak and cheese and they did not have the bread for it. This place is a bakery right? Then i got no side for my sandwhich or my fiances salad. To make matters worse my mac and cheese was warm, dry, and missing bacon and tomatoes i paid extra for. Sadly, we won't be returning. This place went from Good to terrible in less than a year.

Panera like but much worse. I have been here several times and each time I am unimpressed. Poor ordering system, cold or empty coffee carafes, cold and hard seating. Breakfast and lunch items have been poor. Location is the only thing CBC Cranston has going for it. Its in a very central spot in Garden City.

It's ok, but I don't understand why you have to walk all the way to the back of the restaurant to order, and then you have to squint at the menu board while the cashier gives you eyes that are saying "Just order already." I like that you sit down after you order and they bring the food to you, and the place is nice enough inside, but they should have made the ordering area larger with bigger menus. I find that places like this (inc. Panera Bread) have ever creeping upward prices which means you won't leave here without spending $10 on a sandwich and drink.

I was doing last minute shopping with my dad at garden city and we were hungry. He said he knew of a Panera close by but I suggested something different. Well there was the Corner Bakery and Cafe right infront of us. With a lot of reservation I agreed. Upon walking in I thought we were in a sit down restaurant. But there was no host. We walked to the back and found an ordering station. It was all very awkward. No hand held menus so I had to stand there squinting at the menu board. I got the club panini and it sucked. Two stars for lemonade and good pickles.

Great place! Loved the food and ambiance. I drop by this place every Friday and tried all their deserts and none disappointed me. My 8 year old daughter says she gets best chicken noodle soup here.

Hubby and I had lunch there today and we really enjoyed it. I had the combo with cheddar broccoli soup and the roast beef goat cheese sandwich. The soup was comparable to Panera's but the sandwich was delicious. It had roast beef, goat cheese, balsamic onions arugula. My husband had the same sandwich with caesar salad. We both left full and happy and we also enjoyed the various drinks available besides soda and plain lemonade. The decor was very nice and although people complained about having to walk to the back to order we liked that there were no lines of people near us where we eat. We also both felt that the tables were not right on top of each other and we could enjoy conversation easily. At the end of our visit a manager had stopped by our table and given us coupons for free soup with a sandwich purchase. We will definitely return.

This place is cozy first time I went to this place with my friend who invited me and the food was really good and the fact that it's one stop for shopping and dining that makes more awesome.

I stood in line for 20 minutes and spent $22 for a sandwich, salad, and a blueberry tart. The guy taking my order was very new and had to ask his coworker where every single item I ordered was on his computer screen(poor guy), and then they forgot to give me my blueberry tart! It has a very nice atmosphere and maybe my expectations were a little higher than they should've been. In my opinion this place is just an overpriced and under serviced panera bread

Very nice inside, a lot fancier than I expected, dark wood and tile. Pretty big too. I do find it a little strange you have to walk about 100ft from the front door through the dining room all the way to the back of the building to order. I'm NOT a coffee drinker, but I drank the whole cup of Hazelnut Cream, it was very very good. We had to order small coffees because they ran out of large cups by 1pm on a Sunday, thats was kinda strange. Small coffee was $2 a pop, seems a bit steep. The dishes looked pretty good from what we saw, we will go back to give the food a try.

Just ok. Had the power egg white panini with a side of oatmeal and a med coffee. Server was friendly. Food delivered to me was hot but the sandwich was regular egg not white. No big deal, she took it back and made it right. Nothing spectacular about the place but it was clean, friendly. Good value came to under $8 for breakfast. Would go again.

I went to Corner Bakery Cafe with my mom and brother today. I agree with the previous reviewers that the place is spotless and the help is friendly. I liked the way the dining room is broken into smaller areas. Although it is a fast food type of ordering system, the restaurant has a more upscale feel to it. The menu is a little bit limited in variety but adequate for breakfast and lunch. I had an Asian Wonton Salad, mom had their Cafe Chopped Salad and my brother had the Asian Pork Sandwich. My brother loved the sandwich while mom and I thought the salads were good but not exceptional. They are a little skimpy on the chicken. This is one of those restaurants that should have 3.5 stars but I'll round it up because people here are so friendly. So in short, good food, friendly service, food comes out quickly and a nice atmosphere. Update: Made a second visit today (the day after my first visit). Food and service were just as good but still a bit short on the chicken in the salads.

My first trip here, so unsure of what I wanted to order and was greeted with a sarcastic attitude from the guy behind the counter. Meager, overpriced portions. Coffee and cream were empty, leaving customers waiting in an awkward line. The two pieces of French toast I got for $6 wasn't bad but I wouldn't return here or recommend it to others.

just drive 2 minutes away and go to panera... food is not great... something about the place that makes it feel like an airport food stand. I hate giving negative reviews but for a location such as garden city, which has been doing well with adding businesses with higher standards than most malls... I'd be a lot happier if panera moved in.

  • Scott K.

Nice presentation, but very pricey for what you get. Basically Panera 2. 7 or 8 items doesn't warrant being called a bakery.

Corner Bakery Cafe resides in the same location as the former circuit city. The place is similar to Panera bread but it feels bigger and more spacious. I had a tasty breakfast that consisted of French toast with eggs and bacon. You make your own coffee. The coffee wasn't bad. The prices were a little high but worth it. The service was excellent. I enjoyed my experience at this establishment and I hope to visit again.

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and decided to have the roast beed and goat cheese sandwich. I would defiantly recommend it was really good and a decent portion size. I like how they bring the food to your table even though ordering is done at the counter. Great iced tea too.

I ate here on opening day and a few times since in order to really give this place a fair chance. I was excited to have a new option in town, and one directly next to my new gym no less! Unfortunately, there are just so many things that can be improved upon that I can't give it this place more than 2 stars. PROS: * The staff is awesome (managers excluded; will explain in CONS below). Every staff member I've encountered there has been cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable. * Clean! The place is new, so this should go without saying, but it's very clean. Dirty dishes don't stay on empty tables for more than a minute or two, the coffee and drink stations are always spotless, and the floor are shiny even during the worst this winter has thrown at us. * The coffee is delicious; nuff said. I'm quite partial to the Europa blend myself. * The Chilled Swiss Oatmeal is also delicious, and is a real treat for breakfast. Unfortunately, after a half-dozen meals here, it's the ONLY food I would recommend. CONS: * The management is cold and acts like they couldn't care less that you are there. On opening night, the staff was fantastic! They were walking around, checking on guests, and offering free treats from the bakery to celebrate the opening. The managers however were cold, stood in the corner where the kitchen opens into the dining area, stared into space and completely ignored every single guest. Not even a single "hello" or even a basic "welcome" was offered. Come on guys, it was OPENING DAY, and it was crappy weather out. The people who came in braved the cold and the snow in order to try a new offering in Garden City. If there was a single night when you should have been greeting guests and checking on orders, that was it. You made a very poor first impression, and it hasn't improved since. Every time I've been there, the staff has been great, but the manger is ignoring guests, standing around, and looking wholly uninterested in existing, let alone their work, so it wasn't just an "opening night jitters" thing. * The food is bland, uninspired, and poorly executed. So far I've tried the following: - Chicken Apple Sausage Power Thin Panini: Arrived cold, the "sausage" was little more than two pepperoni-thin slices, and it's entirely overpriced for what you get, which is little more than an egg, a sliver of meat and the end of a baguette. - Roasted Veggies on Potato Tyme Bread: Somewhat tasty, but the balsamic onions were overdone, and the entire thing arrived soggy. - Chilled Swiss Oatmeal: This was delicious, and is the only exception I can make to my general bashing of the food here. - "Chicken Pot Pie": Notice how I put that in quotes? Yeah, that's because I wish someone had told me that it isn't chicken pot pie....at all. What arrived was a big bowl of runny, watery, vaguely chicken-ish soup with a few over-boiled and mashed veggies mixed in. On top were a few broken pieces of "crust" and a mountain of greasy crumbs. It was clear to me that this "pot pie" had been sitting on a burner all day (perhaps dayS), had cooked itself down and been thinned out repeatedly, and when it was finally ordered, they upended a nearly empty bag of "crust topping" on top and called it a day. The whole thing was oddly bitter too, and I couldn't enjoy it at all... Major dissapointment. - Steak and cheese: Thinking that I had perhaps been shooting myself in the foot by intentionally picking the lower-calorie items on the menu, I decided to go for broke and ordered a steak and cheese sandwich my last time in. It arrived cold, which is a trend with this place. The steak was clearly pre-packaged, frozen junk that they reheat and toss on some bread. Many of the machine-sliced pieces were even still stacked and stuck together like they were in the freezer. The "cheese" was more like "cheeze"; the only thing separating it from true nacho cheeze was that it was completely flavorless, whereas the nacho topping at the very least tastes as you would expect it to...like fake cheese. The entire thing arrived soggy (again, trend?) and needed to be eaten with a fork. I had a few bites and then gave up. Again. * Why on Earth do I have to run a gauntlet that is the entire depth of the building in order to order my food? * Iced coffee... Rather than give you a cup and point you to a spigot jug like everyone else, here they deliver iced coffee to your table, which means you then have to get back up, walk back over to the drink (AND COFFEE!) area right near the checkout, prepare it the way you want it, and then walk back over to your table. Why? In short, I'm disappointed. What I had hoped would be a tasty addition to Garden City with a nice assortment of healthy options, is instead a poorly rehashed Panera with greasy, soggy, bland, caloric food. Until something improves, there is an actual Panera right across the street, and I'd rather go there instead.

Decided to try them as soon as they opened, been holding our weekly meetings there ever since! Great selection of food @ good prices, friendly staff and plenty of seating for large parties (6, 8, 10 people-no prob-place is huge) Plenty of parking too. A nice addition to the "New-Improved Garden City"

I wanted to raise the star rating for a number of reasons. Since my first few times I have visited this location of CB and have tried a number of lunch items which were better tasting than the breakfast items. The soup and sandwich have been tasty each time. I did have an minor issue twice (forgetting part of my order) which was not a big deal as I was dining there rather than take out. Still, after completing an online receipt survey I heard from both the district manager and shop manager who were both apologetic. This location has a great outdoor seating on a nice patio surrounded by plants. If you order carefully you can have one of the most economic meals in nice surroundings.

I wish I read the reviews an walked down to cafe luna or went across the street to panera. One, I couldn't figure out how it all worked so I just went to the back f the store and figured I would place a to go order. The kid seemed confused as to why I was standing there. Once I placed my order I asked where to stand, I had to awkwardly mill about the drink station. They also had to make m iced coffee in the back, they don't keep it out. I suppose no free refills here... I got the tomato mozzarella sandwich. The Long skinny baguette was not really able to hold in the ingredients. Really, for the price I was not impressed. Yore paying for atmosphere folks.... And based on the photos hanging up their idea of atmosphere is collages made out of stock photos and the google image search results for Cranston.

Jeesh. I really like Corner Bakery Cafe a LOT! Don't know what these naysayers are talking about. The salads and their dressings are generous and simply wonderful, as is their accompanying bread. Their pastry and cookie confections rock, as well. Coffee is also A-OK. So. Yes, it IS self serve or actually "self order". They bring everything to you at your table where you can happily and comfortably wait for your food which comes VERY quickly, and chat with your friend or check your emails or even Yelp!! while you're waiting This place is immaculate with a warm and inviting vibe. I've been to CBC both in Garden City and to the one on Bald Hill Rd in Warwick. Both are equally as good and equally as immaculate. I highly recommend CBC for lunch (which is all I've had there, but I've been there for a lot of lunches. ). There is nothing I could complain about -- except for a confused order taker on ONE occasion. Convenient, good food consistently, and not expensive. Works for me!

I love this place and it has become a popular hot spot for my family and I on some Friday afternoons. The pesto cavatappi is my favorite dish and with a side bowl of broccoli cheddar soup it goes down so well. I long to visit this place for breakfast as they seem to have an impressive list of options for breakfast as well. It will definitely be on my hopefuls. I actually am writing this as I'm about to eat there! Haha. That's how much I enjoy the place.

One disgusting meal later and I have to update my review. Our movers come today and we picked up take out from corner bakery. I cook often with Kale and red cabbage. It takes forever to spoil. Which makes me wonder how old the kale and Cabbage in my salad was as I picked out piece after piece of rotten vegetables. No time to take it back, no time to pick up some thing else. No lunch for me today. Back to panera I go.

I'll admit my first time here was a bit confusing since when u walk inside, you have no idea where to go and then finally see wayyyy in the back is where the registers and menu are. It's very spacious inside and clean and cozy looking. Sort of like a brighter/sunnier version of panera. The menu just basically has cold and hot sandwiches, salads, soups, a bakery display in the front, coffee and beverages and smoothies. Definitely overpriced, but not bad food. It's definitely a decent lunch/cafe place. I feel like panera is overpriced too anyway. I like the chicken pesto sandwich and chicken Caesar salad. Their four berry smoothie is soo delicious. I liked their lemonade and also their eggs and breakfast menu. I could do without the onion slices in the hash browns though. Service isn't bad either. They give u a pager and u sit down wherever while your food is brought to u. I've been here 3 times in total and have never had a problem, so I'll definitely be back, I just wish the prices were cheaper. The other reviews comparing cbc to panera are pretty accurate, only difference is I've gotten hair in my food at Panera WAY too many times and still stupidly give it more chances, so at least at cbc, I have yet to find a hair !

Sadly - I used to like this Corner Cafe. I found their sandwiches better than Panera (across the street) and since I work nearby, my co-workers and I would go here for lunch when we needed to get out of the office. We've been going here for over a year. Our second-to-last visit (in May) was poor - the service was extremely slow even though there were not many people in the restaurant (we went early and beat the lunchtime rush). Our last visit (June) however was disastrous. We had ordered ahead using the mobile app. 3 people. One order was lost entirely and two were not ready yet - after placing the order 45 minutes in advance. After waiting for 15 minutes, the two orders were still not ready!! What the heck. The lost order was re-entered, prepared and given to my co-worker BEFORE our two orders! I complained and our orders were magically found and were "still warm". As if that makes it okay. The restaurant was quite full (lunchtime rush - Hence the Early Order) and many people were sitting and waiting for their food. From our lovely vantage point of waiting - I could see why. All the orders were sitting under heat lamps waiting for people to serve them to the poor hungry customers. I am not sure if there has been a management change in this location within the past 6 months, if they are having staff problems, or what. But my co-workers and I will NOT be returning. We've been visiting B.Good (also in the Garden City complex) and other restaurants in the Cranston area. It's a sad day when a restaurant turns sour... Corner Cafe has been removed from our lunchtime rotation.

Many many years ago when I lived in Los Angeles, I remember visiting Corner Bakery Cafe and finding it to be very mediocre. Fast forward to Corner Bakery Cafe opening up in Cranston, and I made plans to meet up with someone here for breakfast, mainly out of convenience. It looked shiny and new, and I had hoped the years had been good to the company and perhaps the food had improved. Honestly, it was just as I remembered. I ordered an iced latte and one of the breakfast panini sandwiches, the Anaheim one, which sounded really appetizing. I found it to be barely seasoned and greasy on the outside. Honestly, it reminded me of those Lean Cuisine Panini sandwiches because it seems like it was super toasted on the outside and then just put together, not pressed, just sort of assembled. It sounded so promising, and I was really let down by the quality and flavor. The latte was fine, but in conjunction with a hot meal, I would have been better off elsewhere. I suppose if you're looking for a quick pick-me-up, then Corner Bakery Cafe fits the bill. I wouldn't want to compare it too closely to Panera (which is also very hit or miss for me), and since I haven't had non-breakfast items at Corner Bakery Cafe (and never really had breakfast at Panera), I can't really compare the two directly. From what I hear and see, I'd say they are in the same camp as far as quality, so if you're looking for an okay sandwich or soup, you can probably hit up either one. Personally, I'd pass.

Ok so after going to Jos A Banks we got hungry and so this place coming from there!! Place looks great and founded in 2014 it says on the entrance window! We walked in and waited for 30seconds and realized we had to go to the back of the cafe to place our order...def a different set up, but it's ok. Loved the friendly staff!! We ordered our food and drinks and no lie within 10 minutes of seating ourselves we had hot delicious food!! I like the fact you seat yourself!! Food was amazing and so was the staff!! We will def be back for more!! Oh yeah forgot to mention free wifi baby!!

I came in with my boyfriend two weeks ago after an awful morning with my father. We left my dad and I made my boyfriend take a trip to Garden City. I saw this and I asked if he wanted to eat here, we didn't have much time or we would have went to Paparazzi next door. We go inside and the decor is nice and modern, the bathrooms are kept up, and the staff are friendly. They bring your meals out to you when they are done, which I think is pretty cool! It was an awesome lunch!

This place is a direct knock off of panera bread! The heat inside is must be set at about 55 degrees. The coffee is some of the worst, for a small coffee to cost $2.15 and you have to prepare it yourself. Might as well go to cumberland farms or McDonald's. Also for a place that looks like they pride them self on service. It is terrible. While waiting inline you are always second fiddle to the phone ringing. I have waited through two phone calls before getting just a cup of coffee. So many better options for this style food in this same area.
