Horrifying experience. Got the black Forrest role which tasted old and rotten, when I sent it back, the waitress as well as the rest of the staff ate the roll with their fingers in front of me and said we still had to pay for half of the role and could not exchange it for something different. I'm appalled and will never return.

I am probably one of the most picky eaters when it comes to asian cuisine. this is the only place in the area I will eat at, and i mean only. Food is average priced, you get a hefty portion for the price. The fried rice is delicious, dark flavorful and moist, unlike many other places around. Everything from the rice, chicken fingers, crab rangoon, duck sauce and scorpion bowls are superb. We have been here quite a few times and have yet to be disappointed. I was really bummed when Flare closed, but am quite happy with its replacement. A great addition to the area and I will be going nowhere else!

Good food and service. Those chip things and dark duck sauce they put on your table are delicious! We had crab Rangoon, so creamy and yummy! I always get D7, the beef teriyaki, fried rice and egg roll combo. Highly recommended! My only suggestion is the chef be a little more lenient if a customer asks for a slight change of an item. I asked for pea pods to replace my rice and they graciously accommodated me, but would not add water chestnuts in with the pea pods. Still, it won't keep me from returning!

Same bad service. Ordered take out. Half the order was wrong and the other half was missing. They suck.

We go to Dragon Palace in Coventry all the time. The staff is super nice and helpful. They give you honest opinions about the various dishes, and always know what's in them. The food is way above average. Each dish actually tastes different, and the sauces all taste different (ie black bean, garlic, hunan, etc). I would totally recommend it. This place is way above competition in the area. On a side note we haven't eaten sushi here, only the chinese food. The only place I will eat sushi is Kon in East Greenwich.

I was so mad when I came here Monday night. When we came through the door we stood there for a while without realizing the hostess was in the middle of the area. One of the waitresses just stared at us while talking to the bartender before we figured it out. We were seated in the back corner of the dining room and unfortunately had the same waitress with the brown hair pulled into a bun that originally stared at us without help when we came in. She left us with waters and we flagged another waitress to take our order. After what felt like forever we received our appetizer. Our original waitress came over and said "wow that came out so fast" --- ummmm no it didn't! We never saw her again until we needed the bill, the person I came with wanted extra duck sauce and we both needed water refills! Thanks for nothing! The food was OK. The service killed it for me and we dropped 60$ to be unsatisfied. I've came here in the past but this waitress was just too rude for me to return.

The stuff that is good here is VERY good. The stuff that isn't is disappointing. We get take out from Dragon Palace about twice a month and have eaten there a half dozen times: The good... Beef Chow Fun. Philly beef egg rolls. Wonton soup. Beef teriyaki. Chicken chow mein. Happy family (I order it without carrots or celery). All of these are nicely prepared. From our eat in experience I would add the fact that they have interesting sauces to offer with the munchies they serve while your order is being prepared. The not so good... The restaurant fails in the two dishes I use to initially judge Chinese restaurants...dumplings, which are doughy and really hard to choke down...and General Tso's chicken, which is mediocre and overly breaded. As for the wait staff, bartenders, and front desk people, I have always had a good experience. Some were great. Others were merely fine. On sushi...I haven't tried it here. Must do that some time. On the whole, I give this restaurant high marks and am very pleased that it opened and also that it seems to do a good business so it won't go the way of so many other restaurants in Coventry...three months and out of business.

Dragon Palace is a welcome addition to the Coventry restaurant "scene." And by scene I mean "we welcome all restaurateurs willing to open their doors in the outposts of Rhode Island." While the area has several Asian restaurants, most lack atmosphere and ambiance, which means they're best for take-out only. Not so for Dragon Palace -- fresh, clean and well appointed for the casual diner. According to the very friendly wait staff, Dragon Palace is new to Coventry (just a month old on my first visit) but has a loyal following from its other South County locations. And, based on my first visit, I know why. Selections are fresh and flavorful, and portions are PLENTIFUL, so plan on bringing leftovers home. Or, better yet, share an entree with your dining companion. And don't forget to enjoy some spirits from the bar -- the generous Scorpion Bowl for Two at $11 was a tasty bargain!

I have been here twice since they opened. They keep the place a little on the cold side so come dressed appropriately. The bar staff have been VERY friendly and engaging. Both times the manager has taken time to stop by and talk to everyone at the bar about their drinks & meals. The decor is nice and not gaudy like some asian/chinese restaurants of a certain age tend to be. I have had two standard 'chinese' dishes. Sesame Chicken and Schezuan beef. The Sesame was good chunks of white meat battered and fried. The meat was good....there was a bit too much batter for my taste. The Beef dish was very tasty and had a TON of veggies which i enjoyed. The crab rangoon are also one of my favorites in the state. It seems to have drawn an early following and has been keeping a steady business so far of both Take Out and dine-in eaters. Worth giving a new place a try in Coventry!

Weakest scorpion bowl ever. Took an inordinate amount of time to receive the thinnest, stringy, dry, worst sushi I've ever had. I don't even want to mention the trash talking waitress, afraid she might kick my ass. Would have been very easy to walk out, the staff was completely oblivious to anything that was going on. This was the first time I tried this place- my mistake.

Prompt service! Excellent food! Great prices! The place was busy for thursday night. Much better then the other establishment in town!

This place was great! I went two days in a row! I had their sushi and a combination plate. The servings were plentiful, prices were very reasonable. You could tell the sushi was very fresh. Their boneless spareribs, beef teriyaki, and egg rolls were great! Only thing I didn't really like was the brown gravy, but I've had worse. The interior is modern and inviting. Bathroom needed some TLC but it was a Saturday and they probably didn't know some people without manners messed up the place. Upper management came around to ask everyone how their meals and service was. You can tell they have pride in their business. I'd definitely go back!

I ordered here one night because I was hungry and had limited options. I assure you it will be my last time I eat there. I was throwing up for almost two days. I wonder if because it was a slow night in there that the food was old. OMG. I dread leaving negative reviews, but I cannot allow this to fall by the wayside. Beware!

I've been to this place a couple of times now and I must say I'm not a huge fan. I thought maybe after the 4th time or 5th time it would get better. I was wrong about all of that. So we end up ordering the thai chicken, beef chow mein, and crab rangoon. The chicken was very dry and did not taste like chicken. It was not spicy at all and we ask. The crab rangon is very sweet and chow mein was oily with too much onion. I really want to give this place another try but I think after the last time this might be the last. Also there is many chinese restaurant around the area.

Friendly staff! Great atmosphere! Fresh sushi! Yummy crab rangoons! Perfect scorpion bowls! I love everything about this place! The staff, food and drinks are always great! My favorite place to go for a fun night out! The Alex roll is my favorite if you are in the mood for sushi!

At many other Chinese restaurants I've been to, it's pretty obvious the dining room was an afterthought for the few patrons who aren't getting food to go or delivered. That is not the case at Dragon Palace, where the dining room was clearly intentional. Lighting was dim enough for privacy, but not so dim that flashlights were required to read the menu. The servers were also very friendly. But the most important thing about Dragon Palace: the speed! Our food was lightning quick! It's almost as if they had some sort of Minority Report device going on in the kitchen to predict what we were going to order before we did so. Although this was my first time dining here, my wife has gotten take out numerous times and said it is always just as fast. We want for dinner and both got dinner combination plates. I ordered the General Tso's chicken and it was very good. Large portion, served quick, hot, and delicious; there really isn't much more you need to know!

I am highly dissatisfied with the ownership of this establishment. My food came out lousy and then the waitstaff didn't listen to my needs. I then continued to speak to the owner who was very rude. The wait for the food was long and it was poor service. I don't recommend this place at all. If you're looking for a great Chinese place- this is NOT the place for it.

The food here is delicious and the service is average. Went out with about 15 buddies to lunch, food came out fast and was very tasty, but the waitress screwed up our bills, I ended up getting the banana getting my check last. When I told the waitress she said,"well somebody has to pay, what do you expect with such a big party." Really?!?!?

Cannot even go in the place. Under the Americans with disabilities act I asked them to remove the air freshener in the bathrooms as it is a barrier for my disability. The manager said he would not do me any favors.

Really? Been there twice and the 2nd time was more painful then the 1st. They've been open for a while now and from what I can see they still don't have it figured out yet. Waitress has no idea of what their selection of beers or wines are available her excuse is they constantly run out of different stock. Get a new waitress or shit can the bartender/bar manager. Waitress expected to take orders standing at 1 end of a table of 10. I guess I'm suppose to shout my order to her from the other end of the table. My appetizers came out after the entrees. My "Large" shrimp fried rice looked like it was bearly a portion of a scoop out of the ladle used to cook it. No frigging way that was a large that I ordered. Not to mention it looked nothing liked the picture in the menu. The menu clearly shows shrimps that was close to a 30/45 size shrimp with tails on and what they send out is a 65/90 size. Can I say bait and switched! Other members of my party was very disappointed as well with their whole experience. And just in case you want to try their sangia, DON'T Looks like they just poured out of a bottle unless that was a screw up of the evening as well because it tasted awful.

We came here for first time to be adventurous and try a new place. Our table got salad with ginger dressing. Every salad was returned due to the dressing having a terrible taste of onions and garlic.

Dragon Palace (or "Dragon Place" as my husband calls it) is such a welcomed addition to the Coventry restaurant scene (or lack thereof). Inside, this place is hoppin' - never a dull night in the several times I've been there. The restaurant is decorated very nicely as well. The food is solid for sure. And, what I particularly like is the option for either sushi or chinese food under one roof. My husband can get his sweet and sour chicken, and I can get my tan californian, and we can do it all in one trip/without the argument of who gets to pick what for dinner. Win-win!

I went here recently for my mothers birthday. I was excited because I LOVE Chinese food. The first thing I noticed was that the prices were a little high. Second, I noticed they have hot pots. I love hot pots. I ordered seaweed salad. The portion was half of what would be expected at other restaurants. Literally like 3 or 4 bites. The party I was with ordered Edamame and Calamari. Edamame is pretty much fool proof. The Calamari was served whole tubes breaded in a sweet batter and fried. I think it was over cooked a bit. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken. Not bad. Not the best. Chicken was very tender. The party I was with had pepper beef, general chicken, moo goo gai pan, and curry mai fun. My sister had the mai fun, she is vegan. She asked to have it made vegan and they put eggs in it. She ate around the eggs. If you want to have an excellent experience go to Taste of China in NK or EG. If you really want to have an exceptional experience go to 7 moons in NK.

Great Asian food and a really well designed interior. It's nice walking into a place that prides themselves on cleanliness, especially when most Chinese food places have questionable hygiene. Not here, I always feel very comfortable and the owner or manager, not sure which he is, is a very very nice guy. Stands out against all restaurants in the area. Can't recommend it enough.

The women Bartender was terrible had an attitude and was too busy with hitting on all the other wait staff the entire dinner to do her job ,The drink was disgustingly sweet and the food that I asked for spicy came out very bland , there are many places to get Asian food in Coventry area this one I strongly suggest staying away from

I have been here four times and I am a big fan. One time I had a server at the bar who was overwhelmed and not attentive. I am glad I didn't let this keep me away. The sushi is well prepared and delicious. The atmosphere is very well put together and offers a fine dinning experience.

Food was good and was prepared very quick. You get a big portion of food for the amount of money you spend. The dining area and restrooms were very clean. I'd go back again.

Avoid the fried rice and the temptation of general tsaos. Both are rather bland. On the other hand the thai shrimp is out of this world!!! Coming in a close second was the Singapore Mei Fun. I measure Asian restaurants by their eggrolls. These were very good as well. Didn't see a single Asian the whole time I was there. .. But hey. .. The food was great so who cares!

AWFUL ! Ate lunch today and was served cold soup, tasteless lomein, horrible shrimp w/lobster sauce. Ask to have a manager come to the table but the waitress made no attempt to do so. Also, only one waitress for the entire dining room, need I say more!

I am hard to please when it comes to Asian food, but this place was surprisingly good and fast. We ordered dinner combo plates which come with an egg roll and fried rice. I had the chicken and green beans, which was a little smokey from the hot wok, and the sauce was just the right consistency. My wife had the mixed vegetables, which were great! Most Asian places would serve you sliced carrots, celery, and bamboo shoots, but not this place. They had asparagus, baby bok choy, and mushrooms as well. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The interior wasn't cheesy, and the prices were good. Our dinner bill was 24 bucks, which included a beer and a coke along with the food. We also went home with a lot of leftovers! Great new spot.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
