Great Mexican burrito place that offers your regular seasoned ground beef, carnitas, and chicken from a Mexican grill. They do offer specials such as "Fresh catch of the day" for fish. (This is unlike some other Mexican grill place...that starts with a C...) My fiance got the grilled Tilapia in the Belly Bowl which was very good and did last two meals. I got the burrito with the spicy mexican beef. We both fully load it with mild and corn salsa. I had an extra kick of jalapenos while she had a dollop of sour cream. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. We even got the the chips with Guacamole which was delicious as well. I would recommend it if you want a change of scenery from that other mexican grill place.

Quick and tasty. We had two soft taco orders. Each order came with 3 big stuffed tacos. Pulled pork and buffalo chicken plus beans, salsa and more. We were traveling I95 and this place is just 4 minutes off exit 7.

Awesome!! Looks like hole in the wall...just go in. The staff is helpful and courteous and the food is fresh and delicious!! Chipotle meets Moe's and makes everything fresh!!

For a reasonably priced, relatively healthy fast-food restaurant this place can't be beat! My husband had eaten at the Providence location before saying it was good, so we figured we'd try our closer Coventry spot. We ordered online for pickup, which right off the bat sold me on this place as I love being able to place to-go orders online. The food was ready right when we requested it to be, it was extremely fresh and pretty tasty to boot! Price wise, I got a HUGE salad for just under $7 - taking into account what $7 typically will get you in terms of lunch options, I was very impressed. I did happen to notice that Coronas were available onsite, along with several other "adult" beverages. I didn't partake so I can't speak to the price, but it's nice knowing they are available!

Cilantro makes great burritos and quesadillas. They have several choices of meats available and you choose your toppings 'subway' style. The food isn't overly fancy but, hey, its a build your own burrito shop...what do you want? They prep and cook their meat on site which I really like. The staff has been fairly consistent and always friendly. Prices can be a little high (and they have been climbing over the past few years) but I can (usually) get two meals out of one burrito so if you break it down like that it isn't so bad. In the past year or so they have added a bar. They have always had bottled beer available but now you can get Tequila and some other liquors too. It is a small buisness owned (or at least managed) by local people. I like to support these places.

Ok so i love this place but sometimes i want to cry because you never know if they have guacamole. it is sooooooooooo upsetting when they don't have it. They have a frequent flyer burrito card too... buy 9 get the 10th free or something close tot hat. i love their food. portions are HUGE. services is nice. they have a bar. parking lot in front. you can't go wrong. If you want a giant burrito belly... this is your kinda place.

3 stars at best really. The hot food want very hot, the flavors were weak, a bit pricey and pretty ugly inside. Good quick service was appreciated. Just a note; they do offer a 10% discount to veterans! This brought a smile to my face as the kid behind the counter asked the guy in front of me in line without any prompting. Very cool. +1 star

I used to love cilanto's, but the Coventry outlet has unfortunately experienced a substantial decline in quality. No matter what meat I get, whether it's the pulled pork, the chicken, or even ground beef, it is always very dry. A lot of the vegetables also seem to have wilted. And no matter what burrito I get, even though I watch them warm the tortilla, it seems cold, and becomes unappetizing. The rice also seems bland and undercooked. I used to frequent the location a lot, but recently I find myself not wanting to go there. The only thing I can say I like from there now is the chips and salsa, although the last time I went the salsa was basically tomato water with some spice. Besides the low quality in food, the staff is definitely eager and happy to serve you, which is a plus, but not enough to keep me coming.

I know Bullritos and you sir are no Bullritos! Cilantros has copied everything about an excellent restaurant named Bullritos with the exception of the most important aspect...food freshness. While both Bullritos and Cilantros assemble your food to order, it is obvious that the ingredients Cilantros use were cooked and prepared many, many, many hours ago if not days ago.

I really wish this place was as good as it used to be back when it first opened. I'm not sure if it was just an off day but my fiancé and I stopped in yesterday for lunch and it really fell short. My fiancé got a chicken quesadilla and I got a pork burrito, the burrito meat wasn't seasoned at all and to top it all off many stray items were floating around inside too...I guess that's the drawback to having the cafeteria style items behind the counter. Nevertheless we both became very sick afterwards, the only thing that made up for it was the Pats wining the Super Bowl! My only suggestion is that if you're going to give Cilantro a try, stick to the Downtown Providence location which is always very constant!

I live in South Florida where we have our choice of some pretty great Mexican restaurants. When I visit my sister, who lives in Richmond RI, the nearest Mexican restaurant is Cilantros in Coventry. Every visit (around 5 in the past few years) has been an extremely pleasant experience. You order what you want on your taco, burrito, or salads. I have always found the ingredients to be extremely fresh, not to much sodium, nor greasy. Just right. I'm always amazed at how "plumb" the tacos become after you've added all the yummy offerings! I'm always impressed that if you ask for a side of jalapeños, you'll receive freshly sliced jalapeños! Every time I leave Cilantros, I look forward to my next visit when I'm back visiting! I just wish they'd open one in Hope Valley :) I believe it would do stupendously :)

Great food. Seems more fresh than Chipotle and also with more options. Did kind of feel like I was getting shouted at from behind the glass by the employees for toppings, rather odd as the store was nearly empty and nobody in line behind us.

The food is fresh, tasty, and big. I love the big burritos made to order. The home made chips with a hint of lime and salt are a great addition to any meal. The dinning are could use some routine cleaning as the table tops, on more than one occasion have been less than acceptable. I always find the staff pleasant. Could easily be 4 stars if it was tidier.

A small burrito café - which also offers Patron? I'm in! Our party of 6 stopped by on Saturday for a well-deserved lunch, o how we were satisfied! The location is small and configured to appeal to "commuter dining". The ordering counter is front-and-center, a few tables and chairs of to the side, and then three high-seaters at the "bar"/high counter top. Burritos AND you have Patron behind the bar?! - talk about one-stop-shop! The only veggie option is the Veg burrito (what you'd expect: all the toppings for the meat burritos at an inflated price). I ordered a Veggie Burrito Bowl (ooooh, with *free guac*): $6.99 I ordered mine light on the rice and piled high with everything else! Was happy to "splurge" for an EXTRA: Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. I loved that the take away container was biodegradable (definitely had that "I'm made from recycled content" look and feel), the "dollop" of "free guac" was at least 3/4cup (overcompensating for the lack of protein?), so the whole thing turned into a sort of green paste. Nevertheless, perfect amount of spice, the rice was cooked properly, and a little lime juice *smooch* perfecto! The beau ordered a BBQ pulled pork burrito in a smoked pepper tortilla (smelled like sweet meaty HEAVEN). It's a decent lunch option if you're in the area, but I wouldn't plan a pilgrimage to this plaza. Average pricing, good flavor, and the possibility of a tequila sidecar....it worked for me.

Delicious! ...there isn't much more to say! Lol I really do like it here, I get grilled chicken on a spinach wrap. I do think their guacamole price is a little ridiculous, but everything else is pretty reasonable.

Best burritos I ever had. Staff is awesome...so friendly and helpful. They genuinely seem to appreciate your business.

I had the veggie burrito and loved that I could pick brown rice instead of white. I wish they had tofu, but overall it was a good burrito. I agree with the other yelpers on the price. I paid almost $13 and seriously only had a burrito. I live in CT and can get a better burrito for 1/2 of the cost. Coventry does not have a lot to choose from. The local produce used will keep me coming back.

In a shopping plaza with Walmart and home depot. Part of the chain of burrito placed in RI. This one is cool because they have a small bar with drinks. The one I go to in North Providence doesn't have alcohol. Always nice to get a drink with your burrito. Service is fast and just like Subway, you can put whatever you want in your burrito, taco, or quesadilla. Plenty of seating.

decent burrito, would have been a better value at the price paid if it came with a few chips or something. two burritos and sodas for $15 .. kinda harsh. i dont go to taco bell ever, but a comparable meal there would probably be $7 all together (and be made of much lower quality ingredients too) .. if you dont want to go to the nearby cracker barrel and want some real food with mexican flavor, this is a good place to checkout and they have a bar.

While Cilantro is a small Rhode Island chain, the staff of this location makes the food and dining experience shine. The staff is very friendly and helpful and and the ingredients are very fresh. The black beans, guacamole, hard taco shells, wheat wraps, and seasoned steak are all my favorites. They even have beer here too. A great place to stop by on the way up or down I-95!

Love it! We will drive 40 minutes to come here. Staff are super friendly and if you come often enough they remember your order. Try the spicy chicken. Great lunch or dinner stop, no frills Mexican.

My husband and I could have totally split one of these burritos. They are HUGE! I ordered the chicken burrito and picked out a bunch of the toppings. I was there at 4:30 on a Friday night so I was able to buy one burrito for 4.99 and get the second burrito for free when I purchased two drinks. This is the Bogo deal that's in effect Friday's after 4pm. Great deal! Good food!

Best burritos in Rhode Island. Fresh and friendly. Also have beer. We've also brought our dog and eaten on the patio.

fantastic! when i walked in, it looked like a less quality chipotle. but dont let the appearance fool you, the food was delicious. i got a veggie burrito and it tasted as good, if not better than, chipitole's. cilantro also has more filling choices. if you are looking for quick, tasty mexican food, i highly recommend cilantro.

Uh, YUMMMM! If you like totally completely casual Mex and you happen to be in the area, you will not be disappointed. You don't come here for the atmosphere, but the food is delicious, cheap and huge portions. A fave for me when I am in this area serving my clients.

This location needs a major update to their menu sign and pricing, and their staff should be better trained to properly handle customers. On their menu sign, they have new prices printed on white paper, taped to the board to cover up the old prices and it looks tacky. Additionally, the posted price for pulled pork was $6.99. At the register, it rang up to $8 something. After inquiring about the price and notifying them of the $6.99 advertised price, I was told that the price was raised to $7.25. I understand economics and the need to raise prices, but when I requested to be charged the advertised price, I was rudely told, "It is only a 25 cent difference". This is not how you interact with a customer. I have a college minor in math, and can add and subtract faster than probably any of the workers at this restaurant. While $0.25 doesn't make a dent in my wallet, I expect to be charged the advertised price - no more, no less. On the positive side, it was good food - comparable to Chipotle. I did especially like their Chile tortilla on the side, with my burrito bowl.

I had the best vegetarian burrito bowl here! First of all, this place is the only place around for fresh, healthy food. If you are in the "Centre of New England" area your choices are fast food, chains or Cilantro. The choice is obvious, right? The portions are huge, the restaurant is clean and the staff is really cool. The menu is kid-friendly and they have free wi-fi. I love the fact that they are a local company and they partner with RI farms to supply many of their ingredients.

I would have given it 3 stars if it would have not cost $10 for sub par burrito. You are better off at Moe's or Chipotle. The spiced pulled pork was flavorless and I had both the mild and hot sauce added, but never tasted either. I had to keep using the generic got sauce at the table to get a kick. On the bright side, the ingredients were fresh and the staff was very friendly, does not make up for bland food at high prices though.

The chopped salad was disappointing. Not enough chicken...and beans. I didn't want the rice. I know I'm whiny. I'm still hungry. For the price...9.00? They should have put more beans on. There was nothing really to it.

I just can't get excited about this place. Let me say outright that the food quality is excellent and it's obvious they use fresh ingredients. The guacamole is absolutely delicious and reason enough to go here. But...if you get the tacos or burritos, the ingredients have a lot of water in them and end up making a big soupy mess. The first two tacos are ok but the last two will just fall apart and you end up with taco salad. I'm not going to stop going, but my trips are going to more sparse now.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
