Great Saturday at Victor's! Thanks, for helping us impress the "out of town" family :) Our nephew and his girlfriend were visiting for the weekend from the Philadelphia/New Jersey area. She and I enjoyed some girl time on Victor's sunny patio on Saturday afternoon. We had a wonderful cheese plate followed by fresh and inspired salads. We spent a perfect afternoon sipping wine, sampling amazing food and enjoying the day. Our server, Brittany, was extremely attentive. All four of the owners stopped by our table to ensure we were enjoying our visit. Later that evening, the four of us ventured downtown to have dinner. The restaurant we originally choose for dinner, informed us that there were 28 parties ahead of us and could not give us an estimated seating time. As my husband and I were listing alternative dining options downtown, our nephew's girlfriend suggested that we go back to Victors! So I dialed to the phone and was greeted by a very polite and professional host who told me that he would not be able to seat us inside right away but he could seat us on the newly opened patio as soon as we arrived! We arrived at Victor's a few minutes later and were greeted by Kai who had reserved us a lovely table on the patio. Again we received top notch service, enjoying warm fresh baked bread, wine, artisan cheese and meats. After a bit, we started to get chilly on the patio so I went back inside to ask Kai if there was any way we could move inside. Shortly after, Kai came through! He moved us inside where we received the same top notch service while enjoying incredible dishes like heavenly crab stuffed ravioli, homemade lasagna and rum cake! The food at Victors' never disappoints. The service is always above and beyond!! As native Philadelphians, we are born and bred "foodies" with very high expectations! Victor's is one of very few spots in York that meet and exceed those expectations, every time!

Pros: -the only restaurant that offers online reservations via Open Table in the area -nice place located inside an old church -food was ok. -generous portions Cons: -the waiter was rushing things -the menu wasn't typical Italian as the name of the place states -the chicken Marsala felt a little undercooked Summary: Doesn't compare much to Philly/Baltimore restaurants but it stands out among the top 10 in York.

My favorite Italian restaurant in York. Try the Green Fairy (absinthe fountain.) I was impressed to see anchovies on my Caesar salad. The veal was quite good as well; I'll be back again.

While we were extremely impressed by the service, we were not quite as impressed by the food. My friend got the chicken parm and said it was good, but the sauce was a bit bland. I had the veal marsala and I felt the veal was a bit overcooked as it was kind of tough. The sauce was a little more buttery than marsala. The absinthe fountain was entertaining, but you better like the taste of high-octane Good & Plenty's if you get the Green Fairy.

Victors is a perfect place for business dinners. When I host out of town clients, Victors is their request. There are only a few gems in York Pa, and Victors is a hidden treasure. Food is outstanding and the bar is roomy and fun.

This restaurant is set inside an old church, though it's not preserved church-like on the inside as I had hoped. I came for lunch and there were only a few people in the restaurant, which made the atmosphere quite nice. I haven't been there for dinner. The food was fabulous and the best Italian that I've had in York yet. The wine selection was great. They also have the best draft beer selection that I've found in York yet. Cappuccino was delicious, too. Server/bartender was quite nice. Highly recommended if you're looking for Italian in the area.

I recently dined at Victor's last Saturday nite with my parents, brother and sister. We were seated near the front door and started out our dinner with a bottle of wine. While we waited for our watress to return we tried talking but could not due to a female singer in the bar area. Her singing was so loud and terrible that it ruined the whole dining experience. We ordered our food that started out with a house salad. The salad was just plain nothing exceptional. Our main courses arrived which were acceptable. I sense the food here can be inviting but the entertainment was extremely terrible.

I've always liked Victors, however, my last experience wasn't good. They want to be fine dining. They're failing. The menu seems fairly impressive, but the quality of my meal was mediocre at best. A pasta dish with lobster should have actual lobster in it, not only claw meat. And then there was the horrible service! The very young and untrained servers were laughable. She had trouble pronouncing the specials and their descriptions. She had no knowledge regarding their wine selection. And the wait time in between her visits to the table was terrible. We sat with closed menus waiting to order for 15 minutes while the servers stood in the back chatting. I won't be returning.

Found ourselves in York. Yelp directed us to Victors. We had to sit in the bar area due to a private party in the main dining room. My wife had chicken fettuccine Alfredo. I had a cheesesteak. Everything was delicious. Great attention to detail that you don't often see in restaurants. The bartender was great. He waited on us and helped me find a beer I liked. I am not a fan of the super hoppy trend in craft beers. It was a wonderful experience. If I find myself in York again I will definitely be back!

This is absolute favorite restaurant in York. The bar is the finest, with a supurb beer and wine list. The beet and peach salad I've now had twice has been amazing, and the entres are perfectly prepared.

I LOVE the atmosphere and service at Victor's, which is the only reason I go back. However, the food is at times flat out awful, underwhelming, and sometimes strange. First, there are hardly any vegetarian options. The cheese platter is an overreach by the chef, who clearly wants to offer European excellence, but misses the mark with non-complementary and inedible items. Why not offer local artisan cheeses? The bruschetta had a balsamic reduction dribbled all over which left the food cold and soggy. Why? It would have been a fresh lovely dish otherwise. A friend of mine ordered the pasta, and paid WAY TOO MUCH for a cup's worth of spaghetti with minimal marinara sauce. The beer cocktail and wine selections and inventive and fun, which is why this place gets two stars. If the chef learns to edit, and pay attention to details like food temperatures, it could be a great place.

Good food in York? Suprising but true! Very attentive servers. Interesting clientelle. Old folks dressed for church. 20somethings in board shorts TapOut shirts and sundresses... And multicultural (for York meaning both White and Black folk-good job York!) Why not 5 stars? NOISE. Churches are allowed to have tapestries, this one does not. Either loud people or loud establishment. It's hard to have a nice relaxing/romantic meal here when you can hear the conversations from all 5 tables around you. -I do not care about your choice for blinds in the kitchen table 1 -I do not care about your friend who didn't want to go tubing today table 2 -Sorry college isn't working out table 3 -You may act like a food snob but you're just a jerk table 4 -Yes, you're in York table 5, go back to Maryland already.

Went there for the first time last Friday for their Jazz night. Sat at the bar and had a great meal! There were 2 bartenders...Matt and a female. Both were great!!! My boyfriend had the eggplant parm and I had a seafood medley over pasta. We will def go back!

My husband and I went to dinner tonight (Saturday) to check out Victors for the first time. What a disappointment! I asked the waiter if the chef was. Italian and he and the water boy hemmed and hawed and said "I don't know..." And then no follow up! I swear they had absolutely no idea how to answer that question, and they never came back to follow up! I got the fish and the cous cous (which I was told on delivery would be at "room temperature") was dead cold, like someone just pulled it out of the fridge. The house red win had the nose of "old foot", drinkable but smelled really terrible. The lamb was dry, the salsa skimpy and the salad was a bag of romaine from Walmart. Way too expensive for food served. Will not be returning.

I've always had great experiences at Victor's. The staff is attentive and not stuffy. If you check out the menu ahead of your visit, don't decide on anything because it will be hard to choose when you hear the daily specials from your server. If you enjoy steaks, the filet will not disappoint. It is always cooked to perfection and with great sides. Their fish (usually a special) is always fresh and delicious. All meals include a salad and warm bread. Save room for dessert as the creme brûlée with berries is fabulous. They are known for their rum cake but I like the chocolate cake better. They even box up anything you can't finish with the dish name and date so you can be sure to eat it in a timely manner.

I really wanted to like this place. Such a cool setting. Enjoyed a drink with friends at the bar before being seated. The good: The drinks were great. Our waitress was fun and attentive. The not so good: I went with two specials. My appetizer was an octopus salad. I immediately noticed it was over-sauced which pretty much dimmed my hopes before I even tasted it. The sauce was ok but the octopus was beyond chewy. My main course appetizer was roasted boar. While the flavor was ok I once again got a total dental workout because the meat was extremely tough. While I realize both of these dishes can be tricky for the five star prices I was expecting five star quality. My wife's veal parmesan (this should be a no-brainer home run in any Italian joint) was meh at best.

We came to Victor's before the Alton Brown show at the Pullo Center, after reading the reviews on Yelp. This was our first time and we were pleased that we were seated immediately. Looking over the menu further raised our expectations. But the food disappointed.. My wife and I both ordered the veal parmesan, which is, for me, the gold standard for a restaurant that has Italian in its name. Unfortunately, the veal was dry and tasteless, plus they made the fatal error of serving it on top of steaming spaghetti. The salad that came with the dinner was uninspired, mainly just chopped romaine. The service was OK, but water glasses went unfilled too often and bread wasn't refilled until we asked. Not worth the drive from Hershey to York for sure. I don't think we will be returning.

The potential this restaurant has is amazing but unfortunately tonight was I hope not it's best foot forward. We started with a drink in the bar with some of the friendliest staff. Then we moved over to the restaurant where we were seated early for our reservation (score!) We were greeted by our waitress and placed an order for the calamari and bruschetta. After waiting for over thirty minutes (waitress claiming bruschetta takes a long time to prepare) the bread was incredibly soggy and the calamari was cooked great but the breading was soggy as well. When my shrimp and cheese ravioli came everything but the sauteed spinach was cold. I sent it back and received a small refire where my shrimp was not de-shelled 100% clean. My husband had the scotch steak which was cooked well but was fatty and everything else that came with was less than impressive. None of what we ate was worth the $100 bill. Next time we'll probably just eat in at the bar in hopes it'll be better

Victors is so cute, super little restaurant with just a few tables in the dining area and a bar on the other side of the building. It is a perfect date night restaurant, they even offer a date night Wednesday special which is really nice. They participate in Opentable, which is great and unique to the area. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and beer selection. They have a TON of really neat micro brews, and not the normal ones most places carry...really unique beers ranging from 4$ to about 50$ a glass. Awesome place to go and try a few really interesting beers.

I cannot express how satisfied I am with the customer service and food. I went there with my fiancée (been engaged 4 days) and they gave us a nice, private table in the corner. The food was amazing and the beer selection is fantastic (great for craft beer fans)! At the end of the night, the shift manager bought us dessert as a congratulations on our engagement. I highly recommend that everyone gives Victor's a try!!! You won't regret it!

I enjoyed dinner at Victor's a few weeks ago. I regularly meet friends from Harrisburg halfway, and Victors is much better than the other options in the York area (Olive Garden, etc...). Food was very good. I enjoyed my salad Menu had a nice mix of traditional Italian dishes and contemporary versions with local ingredients. It's convenient to the highway and parking was easy. Service was good - we didn't feel rushed to order or to leave our table after the meal. Overall the best I've had in the York area.

(2-19-13) Well this year's training was a little less of a beer fest than prior years (notice I said a little). The Company has been putting us up at Heritage Hills Golf Resort with the idea that everyone would be together, no one would have to drive after enjoying the festivities at the pub and we could all get together for a fancy dinner one night on site. Things were a bit more fractured this year. My boss wanted to take us to the Eagle's Nest down the street (heard good things) but I had a former co-worker coming up from the DC area so we had other plans. After meeting up in the pub we ran into another group that was going to Victor's, so we tagged along. Nice place, not too casual, not too elegant.. Noise level was minimal so we could all converse without shouting. The service was a bit slow, but I'm sure it was deliberate so we didn't feel rushed (and had time to order another beer or bottle of wine). I had the shrimp raviolis with a salad. Very good, just the right amount of sauce, tender pasta and flavorful shrimp. The Italian beer I had was very good as well. Someone else picked up the check, but the prices didn't seem too outrageous for the quality. The fact that it's in an old church makes it kinda cool as well. I enjoyed it.

We only go here for carry out on the way home from northerly located business trips, but we're always excited to get back to this location. It's both neat and a little odd that it is located inside of an old church - adds to the charm and the 'is this really OK?' factor. We travel about 45 minutes with the food in the car and it is still amazing when we get home so I can only imagine it's yummy quotient if we were to eat in (which we gotta do one day). We've had the following - and all have been good portions and amazing flavors. As expected, the veal does not travel as well, but is still good: ~Eggplant Parmesan: well cooked, not overdone, nor is the skin really tart/ overpowering. Not the best I've ever had, but still really good. $17 ~Eggplant Roletine: Thinly sliced eggplant lightly breaded & fried. rolled with Prosciutto di Parma, roasted peppers & basil pesto ricotta cheese, topped with melted Provolone cheese. This is AMAZING, will probably get this over the eggplant parm from now on. $18 ~Traditional Caprese: Sliced Roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese & basil leaves, served over fresh field greens paired with a balsamic reduction & extra virgin olive oil. This was good, but smaller than I expected for the $8 price tag. Also note to the restaurant - please do not package with warm pasta for carryout - the salad gets all warm and wilted. ~Mediterranean Salad: Proscuitto, provolone cheese & Genoa salami on a bed of Romaine lettuce, Roma tomatoes, black olives, onions, pepperocini peppers, artichokes, served with a house vinaigrette dressing. Good salad but the Romaine seemed more like iceberg to me- maybe they left out the greener leaves? $13. ~Veal Saltimbocca: Tender veal, sautéed and baked with prosciutto & fresh mozzarella in a light Madeira wine sauce. Served with a polenta cake. A little pricey and I would say that the veal is not all that tender. The dish itself is very flavorful and I enjoyed it, but it's not that great a cut of veal. Also keep in mind that we had to travel 45minutes before eating it so the lag in time could have also added to the taste/texture. $24.

H had the hanger steak, I had chicken with portobello mushrooms in a wine sauce over sauteed spinach. Yum for both of us, and they were really easy about my request to sub gluten-free spinach for the pasta. The food was served really quickly when we told them we were in a hurry and the server was really nice. Good dinner, we'll be back soon.

Really disappointed with my meal here. I've been to many many italian restaurants and i have to say that the cool ambiance of an old church aside, this restaurant is overpriced, flavorless, reheated food. My lobster ravioli was basically cheese ravioli with lobster pieces on top covered in a thick ragu alfredo sauce. My husband's carbonara was essentially a watered down version of the SAME SAUCE with burnt pancetta. My father orderd the veal parmesean that was almost inedible due to being covered in oregano and the spaghetti was cooked to mush. The only reason to come here is to lighten your wallet for the hot bread and the coffee to cover the taste of a terrible meal. NEVER going back.

Victor's is a hidden gem. It is located in an old church, which was transformed into an italian restaurant. My husband and I went with another couple for New Year's Eve. The place is not very big, so it is a good idea to make reservations. All the food is made to order and tasted very fresh. I had the Victor's Special, which consisted of large shrimp, scallops, lobster meat with red peppers and lobster ravioli in a sauce. It was Amazing! My Husband had the Lamp, cooked medium, and it was perfect. It melt in your mouth. They start the meal with bread and olive oil. I always ask for vinegar and parmesan cheese to go with the olive oil. Yum! Then, you are offered the house salad or an upgrade to caesar. We were all full and content that we did not order dessert, but it looked delicious at other table. The food was spaced well and the server was very nice. The other side of the restaurant was a bar area, but we were not seated in that section. So, I can't review that. They do have a good selection of beer and wine. It is a bit pricey, but worth it for a nice night out.

Victor's is a nice quite place to eat. It's hidden in a residential area in an old church, which provides an interesting setting to enjoy drinks or food with friends. It does have a bar on one side and the restaurant on the other side. Nice atmosphere. Service is ok. Good Italian food. Ok bar area. There is a wide mix of people that go here, and you get a lot of people that have lived in York forever - Victor's is kind of a staple in that area. They have live music/open mic on some nights.

Absolutely fantastic meal and experience. I had the pesto crusted salmon which was delicious and flavorful, with risotto and julienne squash. Average price, my dinner was under $35 with wine. The bar area is separate from the dining area which keeps the noise level down. Thursday night they have live jazz music. I definitely plan to go back and try the lamb.

Here is a recent beerfly review I did for beeradvocate, I felt it is relevant to the dining experience. I had the chance to visit Victor's for lunch and was glad to be able to take my wife here. I had been here a few years ago, but didn't remember the selection being great then, but better than average. I am pleased to see more in the way of craft beer showing up in the draft and bottle selection. We were the only ones in the restaurant because we were there close to the opening time and we were seated quickly. Victor's is a renovated church with arched windows and high ceiling. It is cozy, not a huge church but comfortable sized for the restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice with black linen tablecloths, deep red walls and green leather chairs to follow the italian color scheme, the walls are painted with columns and there are tapestries hanging from the walls. the bar area is to the left as you walk in and the dining room is located to the right which has approximately 12-15 tables and the bar is long with a standing area off to the right. The dining and bar areas are separated by a wall with windows. The service we received was prompt, friendly, efficient and helpful. My wife started to feel 'off' and was not able to finish her plate which was a large eggplant salad and the waitress asked if everything was 'ok'. The descriptions in the menu were complete but we were given the specials and had no problem asking for anything without receiving it as the place had only two tables of customers while we were there. I was pleased with the beer selection for the most part as the carried Terrrapin, Stone, Spring House, as well as the usual suspects - Yuengling Lager, Blue Moon, and Stella Artois. They have a chalkboard at the bar that lists Mikkeller, Dieu du Ciel, Kyuichi and La Rulles, as well as Founders Backwoods bastard and De Dolle Stille Nacht for specials. They also carry other bottles like Westmalle, Duve, La Fin Du Monde, Franzikaner, Weihenstephaner and many regional and macro selections. We both ordered the potato soup which was served very hot and was not chunky potato pieces as expected, but finely chopped potato with skins on. - the base was creamy and flavorful. I ordered a Cheesesteak which was tasty like a chopped peppersteak on a fresh roll w/ provolone and fried onions. I was glad they brought the marinara sauce on the side as it wasn't really needed, but I used it on half the sub. My wife had the fried eggplant salad which was well presented and was similar to caprese salad complete with mozzarella, balsamic and tomato. I was pleased with the freshness and the food was adequately portioned too. The draft I ordered was 4.5 which is slightly pricey and some of the entrees can be higher than 20 so it depends on what you order but for the area they really haven't priced themselves out of the usual range for non-casual dining I really liked the experience at Victor's and plan to return in the future for food and drinks with friends.

I love Victor's. I would say it is one of the best restaurants around. They have a great menu. They always have new things to try which keeps it interesting. My only regret about the experience is the noise from the bar. I think they should play some beautiful Mediterranean melodies to amp the gastronomical experience....But sadly, all we hear is lots of sound testing and people talking from the bar. I am still giving it a 4 star because it is a place to have good, fresh Italian food.

As a former Yorkie (for a time), I experienced Victor's quite a few times, finding that the place was a hit-or-miss more than a dependable restaurant. First off, for York standards, this is actually a good Italian restaurant. Portion sizes a decent, selection is good, the wine menu is good. As to the good experiences, we went twice, once as part of a Young Professionals function here, which was very nice, with a good selection of appetizers and drinks. A dinner later than same month was the same story. It was a quiet night, so that may have helped, but the food and service were excellent. As to the bad, it was bad. We went one night in winter, somewhere between Christmas and New Years. Settling into a corner of the restaurant, oddly next to the antipasti bar even though we had made a reservation, we ordered our aperatif, a sherry. 10 minutes later the waiter returns with two half-filled white wine glasses of sherry, saying they did not have the proper glasses. Sherry being a general aperatif with quite a bit more alcohol than regular red wine, let's just say it was an interesting evening. But wait, that was not all. We also ordered an antipasti plate, which for some reason did not come. 15 minutes after ordering, and five minutes into a contended sherry haze, I asked about it, and the waiter, after another minute of hesitation and confusion, began assembling our plate from the bar right next to the table. He had, apparently forgotten it. Now, I can understand this but generally would expect a discount. No, no such thing. Dinner itself was actually ok, if a bit dry (even through a mist of sherry and red wine). I have not been back since.

I was not going to leave a review BUT I am from NJ and my boyfriend from Italy for my bday dinner a friend recommended this place, the menu looked great and so did the reviews but I was horribly disappointed!! I ordered Chicken Parm w/ linguine as my main dish, being Italian chicken parm SHOULD BE a thin piece of chicken breaded with sauce and cheese! They gave me 2 small frozen thick pieces of chicken it was unbreaded and my whole plate was watery from the horrible sauce on my Spaghetti which I ordered linguine. The best way to compare this food was DINER FOOD!! My boyfriend got the salmon which i only tried the risotto which was crunchy. I am shocked by the reviews of the place I wouldn't be surprised if employees were leaving the reviews. Now I sent my food back an the manager was very kind and handled the situation spectacularly! He did not charge us for our meal and gave us free cappuccino and dessert which was good! He also mentioned that the executive chef that they brag about on their website was away on vacation but that still does not explain frozen chicken and not in house made sauce!! This is suppose to be an Italian restaurant but it seems like they are shifting towards seafood and maybe steak bc there was not many Italian items of the menu, Again prices here are at least $20 a plate for that price the food should be fresh!! I'd hate to say it but the food was DISGUSTING!! The manager gave us a $25 gift certificate to come back and try but my experience with the food was so bad I doubt I would go back.

I really wanted to like Victors, but the food was just not acceptable. The meatballs were hard and tasteless, as was the sausages. The prices are very high for York. The service was fine and the bar great, but at these prices you should really get better food.

Slow service, average food and noisy atmosphere. We made an early afternoon reservation on Christmas eve and were seated promptly. After that, things went down hill. Though the waiter was pleasant and made an effort, everything was slow. We ordered 2 salads and an appetizer, which the waiter confirmed would all be brought out before the meals. However, we got the appetizer, which when finished was followed by one salad, and then when that was done, the other salad arrived. About an hour after we arrived, our food came out in 2 installments. For most of the afternoon, Billy King was playing the piano and singing Christmas carols at the bar, which at times was very loud and we had to shout to hear each other. The food was mostly average, but a disappointing for what I thought was a good restaurant. The chicken salad and the Victor's Sautee were fine. The hot sausage sandwhich was average. The french fries weren't fresh and weren't worth the extra $2. The waiter admitted that the coffee was about 3 hours old before offering to brew a new pot. At least he was honest. I will say that during our stay we did get quick refills on sodas/iced tea.

Went here for my first visit on a weeknight, chose this place because of Yelp reviews. Victor's is situated in an old church; the interior dark, well decorated, classy. Perfect place for a nice evening. They have live music Thursday thru Saturday, later in the evening. Go early if you want peace and quiet. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and dinner. Service was prompt, the bartender friendly without being overly so. They have a fairly extensive craft beer selection and an excellent wine list. I had the veal saltimbocca, it was wonderful. Looking forward to a return!

I'm giving Victors 3 stars ONLY because of the bar. The atmosphere is great, the bartenders are awesome, as well as the entertainement. The food however gets 2 stars. I've been coming to Victors for years and they use to serve real Italian food. What is being served now is just one disappointment after another. I ordered the lamb chop app. and it was served to me well done, it was like eating rubber, Yuck!! Another time we got a rock bass entree with risotto. The bass was ok but the risotto needed about 10 more minutes of love before being served to the public. I like al dente but this was crunchy! We have also tried a few of their small plates, all of which were bland at best. I will continue to go there for the social setting only, and if I have to eat I will stick to the caesar salad. If I want a good Italian meal I will go elsewhere.

Victor's is my favorite restaurant in York. My wife and I eat here about twice per year and come in for drinks on occasion too. This is where we had our first date, so maybe I am a bit biased. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is great. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and their service is on point. The old bay cream sauce over ravioli was perfect. It can be noisy when the tables fill up, but it still remains a cozy place and feels as though you have stepped outside of York for an hour or two. This place also supports local breweries and local original music. The menu is fairly priced and if we had more disposable income we would be here more often. I hope they stay in business for years to come.

You'll be surprised at the level of service and exquisite food offered by a restaurant that is outfitted in a former church. My manager, who lives in York, had nothing negative to say about Victor's so I decided to give it a try. No regrets. We were a little early for our reservation, so my girlfriend and I sat at the bar and enjoyed free samples of Long Trail Brewing Co. beers (side note, great brewer!). After heading to the table and ordering our meals, we just sat and enjoyed some good conversation while admiring the decor. Our meals were both exceptional, I cannot stress that enough. Service to match, as well. There isn't much I can elaborate on, and not anything negative to say unless you're looking for a bargain. This place isn't cheap, though you get more than your fair share in atmosphere and fine dining. If you dine out for food, go to Victor's. If you dine out for atmosphere, go to Victor's.

We liked the relaxed but upscale feeling of Victor's. We went for an early dinner so it was pretty empty when we first got there but the place was getting packed when we left. They have a great cocktail menu - i loved the Basil Lime Gimlet - perfect refreshing summer drink. My husband tried their Dark & Stormy and really enjoyed it. Appetizer was the calamari which was excellent. Lightly fried w/a delicious spicy sauce. I had Victor's Saute for my entree - it was amazing - the artichokes and olives really made the dish. Husband had clams, shrimp, & scallops over linguini - it was also very good in a white wine sauce. I can't wait to return to try more dishes and will try to save room for dessert next time too!

We first visited Victor's with a local who frequents the restaurant. Each time we have returned has been as pleasant as the first. You must try the peppers (brewed in lovely garlic broth) as your starter. Ask for extra bread because the broth is fantastic too! On one occasion, I requested sauteed spinach (with my meal) instead of a salad. After checking with the chef, my request was handled perfectly. Entrees (both from the menu and specials) are generous and tasty! The dining room can be noisy due to acoustics and/or live music in the bar. But if you are in the mood for a lively evening, it's not a big deal. We'll continue to travel the 40 minutes it takes us to get to Victor's. It's worth every mile!

I'm giving Victor's 5 stars because, back in York PA Vicotor's is as good as it gets! I have been a patron of Victors for years. Many years ago there was a fire, and I thought it was going to stay closed, but yay, they reopened! The great character wasn't lost in all of the renovation, the charm remains, it was just improved. The restaurant is split in half, half dining room, half bar. The bar tenders and wait staff is some of the best around. The food is fabulous, and not to expensive for the quality you get. The pasta and chicken dishes are my favorites, and the bruchetta is some of the best I've ever had. At the end of a meal enjoy a cup of coffee, you can pick up a hint of cinnamon. The crowd is so varied here as well from doctors and lawyers to nurses and carpenters. It's a great place to meet new people, and since it is small, you can't help but making new friends. Thursday nights is open mic nite and shouldn't be missed. Many local musicians come out to jam and enjoy drinks together. It's a great little place!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
