My family had been here about a year ago and were quite impressed. The food was great and thing that does it for us is service...it was great. Tonight seemed we went to a different restaurant, the food was NOT great and the service in word was bad...so bad in fact, we won't be back.

I've only been here once, but I really liked it. The inside it really quaint and nice.... They have a nice happy hour that includes drinks and appetizers; which is all the group had. They were pretty good, but the serving size was small. They're a little on the pricey, but I would eat there again. It's right on the Delaware River, (even though there is a road that blocks most of the view).

Have been here twice and had terrible experiences both times. The service was terrible, felt like we were invisible the entire time. Every waiter brushed us off. The food was sub par, maybe it was what we ordered but I wouldn't go there for the food. The martini's were delicious and could knock you on your ass but that would be the only reason to come back here.

Diners who are unhappy with the experience at the Yardley Inn are clearly looking for the establishment to be something other than what it is. The Yardley Inn is a classy, upscale, fine(r) dining restaurant in a sleepy town, and has been consistently pleasing folks in the neighborhood for a decade. Food at the YI is elegant and carefully prepared. My extended family hosted a dinner party for a beloved uncle in the private room here, and the staff was incredibly courteous and patient with us. Despite preparing for around 50 guests, the food was prompt, delicious and fresh; no small feat when serving from a buffet for a large crowd. The servers and hosts were indelibly friendly and attentive. Yardley Inn is a fantastic date night spot. Don't hesitate to ask for a table in a cozy corner where you can have a soft conversation over candle light. Pro-tip: the generally older crowd arrives early, and you'll likely have an easy time finding a table near the end of the dinner service.

The Yardely Inn definitely makes an attempt at being trendier than most places in the area, so points for that! I was here for a birthday dinner the other night and they took note of the birthday when we called to make the reservation and printed "Happy 50th Birthday" on the top of the menus for us (we didn't request this over the phone). Points here as well! As for our experience at the YI... The dining rooms appeared to be over-crowded as we walked to our table. Even though they did put us in kind of a nook because we asked for a quieter room, the tables were all too close together and it was evident that the staff was overwhelmed. They were not attentive to refilling our waters and it took about 25 minutes for out server to return to our table after seating us. She wasn't the friendliest either. When we looked at the wine list you could see every guest at our table do a double-take when they got to the prices. We ordered several bottles for the table but were not happy when we got the check. I'd say their $25 corking fee would be worth it because their bottle prices are crazy! Food-wise, the food was inconsistent- some was good and some was forgettable. For appetizers we ordered the trio of dips (would recommend- all of them were delicious even though the presentation was a bit sloppy), calamari (a bit overdone), and the burrata salad (good concept but peaches were underripe). For my entree I got the scallops, which were average and forgettable and my plate was oily when I received it. Several people in our group got the crab cakes, which were easily the highlight of the menu. They were moist and full of flavor, practically melted in your mouth! For dessert we ordered vanilla bean creme brulee and chocolate cake. Both were yummy and came in huge portions- definitely share! I think maybe for a smaller party, towards the end of the night, this could be a good dining experience. But for our party of 11 at 6 pm, they might have been too busy to give us their all. The plates were sloppy and inconsistent and the staff made minimal effort to be friendly and accommodating. Would give this place another shot, though probably only for a cosmo and appetizers.

The food was mediocre and the service was terrible. It took 40 minutes to make pancakes at 2:30 in the afternoon? It's a cute place but a bad first impression means we won't be back.

Classy, cozy spot for lunch. By just after 12, it was busy - good sign. In addition to the $14.95 deal (appetizer, entree and dessert), there are delicious burgers, salads, soups, sandwiches, and traditional entrees available. Um, short rib grilled cheese with fries? Yes to that. Turkey, avocado, bacon and brie sandwich with apple cucumber slaw? Yes to that, too. Our sandwiches did not disappoint - and were sizable. Lunch and dinner were taken care of in one sitting, thank you very much. Service was very good, and we lucked out with a small table along the windows overlooking the Delaware River. The view's quite pretty on a sunny day. Expect to pay a little more than your average chain restaurant, but it's well worth it. The food is superb.

Very good restaurant which is located in a great spot along the Delaware River. They have a nice menu with a variety of items and huge craft beer list. Lots of locals but if your visiting out of town like us, then you should definitely stop by.

We had out wedding reception here, and the Yardley Inn was just great. The event planning staff was wonderful to work with throughout the process, including accommodating last minute requests. On the day of the wedding, the servers were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. My wife and I loved the pork paprikash. We would definitely recommend them for a nice dinner out or an event. Plus they did the whole reception for less money than most caterers were quoting for just food, with no hidden costs.

Probably just over 3 Yelps for what it's worth. I've been about 5 times, most recently for lunch today. As others pointed out, it can be a noisy and busy place. But this is because it seems to be a go to place for locals, mostly of a certain age group. Lunchtime features a very economical 3 course menu which in my opinion is a bargain. But you can also chose more casual fare, sandwiches etc. Dinner offers various new American type offerings, some interesting but some missing the mark. I imagine that locals have found one or two dishes that they consistently like, and stick with these. The chef is actually very skilled, but I think he is restrained from letting his creativity shine. I've been to both a wine and beer dinner here, and I was very satisfied. The restaurant has it's own farm a few miles away, so there seems to be a move to more local ingredients when available. This is probably not the place to bring your "ultra-foodie" friends and family. But if you have elderly relatives they will be pleased. I have found the service to be very friendly, but when the place is packed they can get overwhelmed.

So I've only been here one other time for an anniversary. My mother is in town and today is her birthday. We wanted to take her out and decided on the Inn. I have 2 children both under 5, and choose not to eat at nice places with them. (Out of respect for other diners.) It was early though and we had the place almost to ourselves. Our server was FANTASTIC with our girls. In fact she convinced my youngest to sit in her own seat allowing me to enjoy a meal out without a small child on my lap. (Probably the first time in about a year) I'm not saying this place is "great" for kids, but our experience tonight was worth every penny. (Oh yeah, the food and drinks are yummy! We had meatloaf, cod, and trout for main course. Wedge and margarita salad along with crab bisque for starters, and desserts!)

A very nice restaurant with a good menu, solid service and beautiful atmosphere. There are a lot of "fill in the blank -ville" inns in Bucks county but this one is very different from some of the others I've been in. For starters, the dress code is a bit more formal. Most women were in skirts or nice slacks, many of the men were in collared shirts or jackets. The menu, too, stands out for more inventive flair than your average inn. There were some creative appetizer choices that we narrowed down to two: pierogies and piave cheese frico (a fried cheese). They were both delicious. Between the four of us, we had the tilapia, salmon, pork paprikash, and flatiron steak. All of us felt our meals were perfectly cooked and well seasoned, though the chef was a BIT heavy on the garlic on ALL of our dishes. This is coming from someone who loves garlic, so I'm not being overly sensitive. Minor negatives: Dessert, sadly, did not live up to the inventiveness of the main menu. It was basically your standard "chocolate cake, fruit pie, ice cream/sorbet" choices. Also, since the inn is rather small with low ceilings it was INCREDIBLY loud. Other major positives: The wine and beer lists were good. The coffee was nice and strong. The service was top notch. Our waiter could not have been more friendly and attentive. Overall, a very nice evening and I look forward to dining here again.

We were excited to come here for a close friend's birthday, and we called ahead to make them aware that this was intended to be a special occasion. I was very disappointed when they paid no mind to our party, and brushed us off. It made for the birthday dinner to be not-so-special and made me lose my appetite. I wish it wasn't so, but I will not be returning.

Confessions first: I only stopped in with a friend for a salad and a draught. Despite the near-smirk on the waitresses face when I only ordered Cobb Salad, the service was good and the place hopping. The atmosphere is casual: don't be afraid to show up in your shorts, Hawaiian, and sandals. Perhaps it is because I had been staying in Trenton, where is there is plenty of food but little cuisine. Perhaps it is because I had been expecting to pay a fortune and instead got one of the best $9.00 salads of my life. Perhaps it is because it was the best "date" night experience I'd had in a long time. Or perhaps it is because the place genuinely rocks--that I will certainly be going back, next time to order the Caesar Salad, just because that smirk was kinda cute.

My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try for Yardley's first Restaurant Week Summer or 2014. I'll give you the play-by-play of our experience. We had made reservations for 7:30pm on a Friday and the parking lot was packed! (We took that as a good sign). We stalked people to their car and finally found a spot around circling a few times. We were seated promptly and I got the chills from the buzz of the cozy atmosphere. For appetizers we got the crab bisque and grilled octopus (later to find out I claimed the last order of octopus for the night). The soup had a slight kick to it; but full of flavor with bits of fresh crabmeat. The grilled octopus was a little charred to my liking- but I've never actually had octopus prepared this way so who am I to judge. It was served with tart pickled vegetables and I loved them all to contrast the meat of the octopus. For our entrees, I ordered the corn risotto with crispy bacon crumbs; and my boyfriend got the grilled pork with watermelon, mint, almonds. His pork was tender and cooked medium rare (a little undercooked for pork in his opinion). The water and melon was such a refreshing surprised and the almonds gave the dish a nice crunch. My corn risotto, on the other hand, left me a lot to desire. The corn was sweet and crunchy, tossed in gloried rice. I don't know how they are able to get away with calling this dish a 'risotto' because it was under cooked and gummy at the same time. I had to push the 'crispy bacon crumbs' aside because they honestly tasted like 'bacon bits' from the bottle at shoprite. I think I could have made this dish better with my eyes closed; and I was so, so, so, disappointed. Anywho; dessert was chocolate buttercream cake and bread pudding.... and both were very dry. Would I return? I plan on it. I just will have lower expectations and stick with the simpler menu items.

The bar has a GREAT atmosphere and fun people! SLOW service if you sit at the tables near the bar - so grab a stool at the bar if you can. The drinks are over priced - so I usually stop here on my way to another venue just to see some of the fun folks who hang here. I would also avoid the food here - the last time I had dinner I ordered the kobe beef. It was NOT kobe - and I am not sure it was beef!

Overall a nice place to eat. Food and services was very good. A few little tweaks would make the Yardley Inn great. Our dinners were served on appetizer plates - aver cost of our meals were $30 and we felt ripped of only because of the presentation. Quality of meals were very good. Its very loud dining room hard to hear each other through the night - Because there are so many other places to try I most likely won't be back -

Came here on a Sunday night with my boyfriend and his family. Overall, the meal was good. We started off with an appetizer of fried calamari, pierogies and le frites disco. The disco fries were one of the best things of that night - don't know why but we coud not stop eating it! I had the pork paprikash which was braised pork shoulder with a bed of spaetzle. I was super happy with the meal and loved the spaetzle but I will say that I was really disappointed with the fact that our waitress messed up 2 of our orders. She mistakenly brought out 2 entrees and I told them that I wanted something different. Thankfully, she swapped out the dish relatively quickly but it was still inconvenient for her to mess up 2 out of 5 dishes. Overall though, it was a nice dinner with good food and good company if the service was a bit better.

Atmosphere was great and service was excellent. Jamie was our server and she was great. We didn't have to look for her if we needed something as she was very attentive and accommodating to our table. Food was good as well.

This place has good days and it has bad days. I went twice recently and ordered the same thing both times, the fillet with potatoes. The first time, it was amazing. Really delicious, cooked perfectly. The second time, it was pretty mediocre. Not enough sauce, the steak was severely undercooked. Then when I sent it back, the waiter reprimanded me for not sending it back sooner. It also came back, still extremely undercooked. Like maybe they just heated it up for a moment before throwing it back on the plate. Consistency is really key. We also didn't get enough butter with our bread. Things were just really lacking on the second visit, which is a shame because it was a Saturday night, when you would think everyone would be on point. I will probably end up going back because there aren't too many other options in this area, but I was disappointed.

Our go-to place. Sometimes, me and my wife. Sometimes with another couple. Sometimes we go and see or make friends at the bar. Tonight , with our kids. Always, perfect! The cocktails are large and the food is great. Michelle and the staff strive to make every visit perfect. Eban the Chef is ready to make what you want just the way you want it. And no, I'm not related to the owners or anyone who works here. Been coming for over fifteen years and just wanted to express my regards for a very special place.

Wow is my first thought. Coming from big city to find a place like this in middle of nowhere. Place is packed but found seat at bar . Staff is so friendly and know what is what. Ordered dates wrapped in bacon as am app came out very fast and so tasty. Got pad Tai style mussels for main meal and it was great. If anyone is in area this place is a must. Tottaly happy and full. Great wine list and cheap prices 7 for a great app 11 for a glass of wine I may come here just for the wine.

Another weekend, another bridal shower. Ahh, life in your mid twenties (I'm gonna go ahead and stretch the mid-twenties designation until at least 28). This was a lovely spot for a shower. We had a private room upstairs which comfortably seated about 20 of us comfortably around 1 large table. (Warning: the stairs are steep and kinda narrow, so if you're expecting huge gifts, maybe rethink this). However, I think there was another larger shower going on downstairs which looked like a good spot too. We had our own waiter who was very attentive (especially with the sangria, yum) and very nice. We were able to order brunch from what looked like the full menu. Really enjoyed my eggs benedict and the crab bisque soup (which comes in a smaller version if you, like me, like eating many things). Also had some asparagus salad which was very good, but a LOT of asparagus. Large table to accommodate gifts, and overall a great spot for this type of event for a smaller, more intimate crew.

Not only do I enjoy going to the Yardley Inn for a nice dinner or brunch, but had my wedding reception there and highly recommend it. The food and service are great, love the location--I've had the pleasure of sitting by the window a few times, lovely scenery, as it is across from the Delaware River and is nestled in the cute town of Yardley. My recommendations: Marguerita Salad, Cheese Plate(love this ! ) and Crab Cakes. Also, if going for dinner, go during the week vs. weekend, as it gets very busy and you'll easily be there a couple hours.

service was bad - they wouldn't accommodate a vegetarian meal other than 1 bland option on the menu. Doesn't seem appropriate for an establishment that says they source local grown ingredients.

    (1)
  • Dom A.

It was a little pricey the portions were a bit light and the noise from the wedding rehearsal next door was a bit loud. I can't judge a place by the noise. It's forgivable unless it happens all the time. The portions were small but the dishes we ordered were very good. It was quality not quantity. The service was excellent and the food came surprisingly fast. We don't live nearby but will return when we are in this area again.

Real nice place to eat at. We came during Happy Hour, so it was a bit packed. We got seated and were taken care of right away. Food is good. They had some specials going on, I believe, and you can't go wrong with any of the items. We shared a few appetizers. I forgot what they were, but they were good. I got crabcakes as my dish and I was pretty amazed. This was actually full of crab meat instead of other filler items. If I'm ever in the area, I'd probably come by when the sun is still up so you can see the scenery.

The Yardley Inn is a special place! We have celebrated numerous occasions here at brunch, lunch and dinner, also stopped in for the wonderful"5@5" at the bar. (A weekly cocktail offering of limited top shelf liquor, several choices of wine, beer and appetizers; a great weekday happy "two"hours 5-7 all above priced at $5.00.) I am surprised to read that others found the food disappointing or inconsistent as I can honestly say that for us, it has stood the test of time dinning here for 25 years. It is pricy but the food is good, cocktails excellent, service & staff attentive, atmosphere warm and view is wonderful. Parking is plentiful so I couldn't be happier having the Yardley Inn just down the road! We enjoyed a great meal with life long friends tonight and lingered at our table for 3 hours - no hint to turn the table, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable and for all of that I give them 4 stars.

Love this place for lunch! Salmon had such a nice crust and pairs well with lentils. Mini muffins come out while you wait. Desserts are just ok. Lunch gets busy so come early. Dinner time the service is slower and entrees are boring. Locals don't mind because its usually full. Did like the roasted cauliflower with balsamic dressing. I could eat that all day.

LOVE!! My husband and I had been sitting on a gift card we received 4 years ago. Mad now it took us so long to use it. The experience was perfect from the phone call I made for reservations. The woman that answered phone was so sweet and nice. The hostesses were just as friendly. We were seated in dining room and greeted by a very nice server named Kyle. I asked if we could move to a window seat (it was a gorgeous day on the river) but wanted to keep Kyle as our waiter. Friendly hostess came over and said no problem. Food was fantastic, appetizers, main dishes, everything. Food runners were just as pleasant. Obviously the staff is treated well by the owners....it's been a long time since I went anywhere with that many friendly, smiling faces. Last happy face was on the way out when I complimented the manager/owner. Everything was perfect!! We'll be back for sure! Good job!

I've been here twice: once for a private party, and once with my parents (because the first visit was so great that I wanted to take them!) Ehh, it was okay. Beautiful space inside and out and great service. However, our food arrived so late and was mediocre at best!!! We had a 6 pm reservation and were seated promptly, but our main meal didn't arrive until after 7:30 pm! Our bread and appetizer came out in drips and drabs. The food was definitely so-so and for the prices I would absolutely expect a lot more. Plus for such a nice restaurant I thought the survey card at the end, pushed onto us by our server, was a little tacky. You probably already know that your food is average and your service is slow, so why do you need me to tell you.

I've eaten here numerous times. Great food and great service. The Chef also has a large garden/small farm just down the road in which he grows some of the food they serve in the restaurant. That's fresh and local!

The hubs and I tried out the Yardley Inn last night for dinner. It was a nice night and we thought it would be fun to eat outside by the river. Unfortunately, the outside patio is quite small and about half the tables are cocktail size, making for a tight dining experience. The patio is also located pretty much right at at an intersection with no buffer between it and the road . Bottom Line: Lots of road noise, cramped space, and not much of a river view. Oh well, I'd come mostly for the food, right? Well, that wasn't too great either. Had we stopped after the cheese plate and the Disco Frites (an interpretation of poutain), this review would probably be three stars. But we pressed on to the main course and were pretty disappointed with what we got, especially considering the price. It's a shame really because you can tell that they're trying to do the whole farm to table, New American, simple dishes done well, but they just aren't pulling it off. Case in point, the cheese plate: they know they should have one, but the servers don't really know what they're presenting and the plate is full of boxed crackers, albeit of varying brands, and accompaniments that don't particularly pair. For the main course I had the short ribs and my husband had the crab cakes. He said the crab cakes just seemed mushy and that he found multiple shell pieces in them. He thought the crab may have been prepackaged. I found the short ribs to be pretty flavorless and wasn't too impressed with the wilted escarole they were served over (just didn't seem to add anything to the dish) or the accompanying potatoes, which were very dried out and kind of struck me as being reused after having set in a brunch chafing dish all day. I notice that there is quite a disparity in the reviews and my best guess is that this place is somewhat of a local tradition and that the high price tag goes unnoticed by a lot of the fairly affluent, many retired people who seem to frequent the place. For the price you will pay if you are looking for a multi-course meal, you would be much better off to head to Doylestown, New Hope, or Philly. This one just misses the mark.

Absolutely horrible service and inconsiderate! I came here for my mother's 75th birthday only to receive sub par service and horrible food. This was the biggest ripoff on the planet!! I brought my own birthday cake to celebrate this very special day and they said on the phone there is a "$1.50 cake cutting charge". Turns out it is a $1.50/person charge-- $18 to cut a $10 grocery store cake!! This is absolutely outrageous! Not only is it overpriced undercooked, low quality garbage food but they refuse to get rid of this ludacris cake fee. They were extremely rude about it and argued with me when I was trying to be polite and enjoy my mother's special day. It was only by accident that I came here and I will make sure I will never make this mistake again. It's no wonder that there was no one else here because this place deserves to go out of business for their poor service.

I've been coming to the Yardley Inn fairly consistently with my husband for about three years. They have a cute little patio with a view of the river, so we come within the three seasons where we can sit outside. We are in our 20s, and it is a bit of an older crowd inside, but we don't care. Everyone is friendly. Our service has always been fantastic, and is often the same, they must not have a high turnover (yay). I am a huge brunch fan, and they have a really great and inventive brunch menu. Things like chicken and waffles, mushroom truffle omelets, good specials like huevos rancheros or different benedicts. We now have our favorites though that we seem to repeat order. We usually share a Caesar salad - above average dressing and freshly shaved parm. My husband always gets the Yardley Inn burger - major points for the awesome boursin cheese and brioche bun. I get the roasted chicken & chorizo chilaquiles, corn tortillas, chipotle tomato sauce, chihuahua cheese, fried egg. Seriously, I think it might be what I'd pick for my last meal. It's a perfect portion - it is LOVE. We've come here for dinner once or twice, it was good but not blow-your-socks off great. Brunch for the win here. Great coffee too by the way!

This is one of the best restaurants in Bucks County. The food is delicious, the service impeccable and the ambience can't be beat.....my favorite appetizer is the figs with bacon, best salad is the Margarita and I love the roasted Brussels sprouts....but you can't get a bad meal here. The bar is always lively and fun and the cocktails are fabulous!

Business dinner. Very successful. Client happy. Food was great. Service was very good. Thursday night after bad weather & the parking lot was literally full. Had the fries, scallops, & pierogies. All were fabulous. I personally had the flat iron steak which was very good. I would absolutely recommend the restaurant.

low rating is a combo of 1 star for ambiance (bar) and 3.5 for food. i generally only eat at the bar and not at a table. unfortunately, every time i've gone, i couldn't get to the damn bar because it's crammed three-people deep with older clientele who are convinced that it's their personal bar. the ceilings are low, so it's really damn loud too. the staff is really sweet, and they've tried to help us out (point out people who are getting their check, etc.) but the atmosphere is flat-out crappy. it's a shame, because i like the food here. crab nachos are amazing. if you go here, definitely sit outside or get a table away from the bar. good luck trying to get in for happy hour, which is actually pretty awesome because of the drink and food specials... now if only i could stand being in the bar room for more than 30 seconds without wanting to throw some bows.

My husband and I usually choose this restaurant for our date night, without the kids. It's a great place for that occasion. We've been coming here for years and it seems like each time we go, the menu has changed. This is disappointing because at one point, they had a lobster Mac and cheese on the menu, which we were interested in, however, we did not order it, thinking that we would get it the next time we went.... Much to our dismay, by our next visit, it was removed from the menu! Similarly this happened with one of the appetizers, the three tiers app, I loved the pita bread and dips. My absolute favorite thing to rat anywhere! During one visit, I noticed it too, was removed from the menu and disappeared for a few years, until recently,it was added back to the menu and I was thrilled! Having said that, this restaurant is severely overpriced and kind of stuffy, and by stuffy, I mean the clientele. Don't get me wrong, I love Yardley and I love the Yardley inn, but You wouldn't go there wearing jeans and a t-shirt for example, because you will get dirty looks from others. Also forget about bringing kids here, you will be shunned and treated like a second class citizen!!! I know I started off by saying that my husband and I go here for a kid-free night, however we made the mistake of bringing our two small kids with us one time for an early dinner, thinking that nobody would be there, and we could be in and out. My kids are generally well behaved and were being exceptionally good that evening, but even still The clientele looked so annoyed with us, and we appalled that we brought young kids to this establishment. Furthermore, the restaurant is not equipped with kid friendly items, such as plastic drink cups with lids and straws, so forget about the crayons and activity papers!! Haha, they only had 1 high chair and 1 booster seat in the whole place and we needed both! I can't even remember if they had a kids menu! Either way, nice place, super expensive, don't bring your kids and dress up.

Went there for lunch. Friendly service. The crab cake, green beans and mashed potatoes were really good! The server never introduced himself to us which was something that annoyed me. The staff at the front desk were very nice and pleasant. I would recommend the Inn it's not snooty.

While staying nearby, we were just Looking for a place to have a nice meal with a decent glass of wine, something a cut above the usual chain restaurant. We found the Yardley Inn on yelp and afte getting a little lost, were very pleasantly surprised! The place is very charming with a nice atmosphere, cozy, although a bit noisy on a Saturday night we were sat right away at a nice table overlooking the Delaware River. The wines by the glass menu offers an extensive list of choices beyond the usual suspects. I opted for a $12 glass of Trefethen Chardonnay, which was delicious and worth every penny. Had the crab cakes, which came with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. Also had a wedge salad that was a nice reasonable portion. All was very tasty. In addition, the service was unobtrusive, professional and swift. This was more than I could have hoped for after spending the day on my feet and in my wellies at a regatta. Thank you, a Yardley Inn!

We came by for some light apps and got to sample a few options through the Tier of Taste (order 3 for $18 and save $3) -Trio of dips had soft toasted pita slices and good feta and hummus -Fried calamari was tender and came with a sweet sauce, which was surprising but good -Hot wings - tender chicken that was definitely a little spicy, but not too strong

I went there today for "Brunch" I was initially disappointed when I sat down and read the menu , it was mostly breakfast type items or Brunch items if you will, With only a burger and a few sandwiches to choose from. You figure it being 1:30 PM they would be serving LUNCH by now and Not Brunch ... So I reluctantly ordered the Yardley Burger wishing they had more lunch type items on the menu instead of just a burger. My wife ordered the crab cakes and she said they were good. But when I bit into my burger I swear i heard it go "MOOOOO" The dang thing was dripping blood down my hands and squirting blood everywhere . It was RAW . I had ordered it Medium Well but this thing was still Alive I tell you . I don't know if the waitress misunderstood me or the cook mixed up my burger with someone else or what . Although I can't imagine anyone ordering a Burger filled with Raw Meat. They were kind enough to take the burger off my bill and offered to make me something else , but I had already waited 20 minutes for them to NOT COOK my burger so I just sat and watched my wife eat crab cakes. I'm not saying that it's a bad place , but unless you want something besides breakfast foods I would wait until Dinner and whatever you do , if you order the burger , Make sure they understand that you want the Meat Cooked and not Raw .

Wonderful old inn next to the river with an attractive dining room and bar. Cosy, comfy dining room that is bustling - even later in the evening. Crab bisque was excellent - loaded with crab. The Margarita salad (a house specialty) was interesting and tasty - mixed greens and melon with walnuts and blue cheese. Grilled trout (also a house specialty) with green beans and fava beans was wonderful. Also, good seasonal beer on tap and wine by the glass. All in all a great meal.

Just had a great experience at the Yardley Inn and wanted to share. First off: this was a corporate lunch for about 40 of us in one of their side private party rooms. We all had a choice of 3 entrees but they graciously made just for me a vegetarian meal. It was outstanding. But it's a given that the food is outstanding -- no one on here disputes that. What really put this over the top for me was the service: the impeccable, outstanding service. i believe I understood that the main server for our party was Rob -- who is also the owner. i believe that was what I understood. i have never seen anyone in the industry work as hard as this young man did. He made the entire experience a 5-star lunch. I will definitely be back for dinner. Great, great place.

Went for brunch. The one star was for the little mini banana muffins they bring out which were yummy. Showed up at 11:05. Flagged a waiter at 11:15 because we needed coffee. Placed our food order at that time as well. At 11:25 we asked a friendly girl that was pouring water to check our drink order. Finally got half of our drink order at 11:30. My mimosa was flat and bad. Received the rest of the drinks at 11:35. Flagged down the waiter again to inquire about the food. Finally at 11:50, we gave up and asked to pay for the drinks so we could leave. They charged us full price, gave a curt apology, and I left hungry. Bummer. Others around us had problems as well. I have no idea how this place remains in business.

I was getting together with one of my Phila-based gal pals and I suggested that we meet up at the Yardley Inn. Our reservation was for 630PM on Friday night and the place was absolutely packed-- glad we made a reservation. I've dined here on several occasions and the food is consistently good. We shared an appetizer-- the trio of dips-- which was super yummy. For dinner I selected the mussels and my friend ordered a pork entree. Both meals were delicious. The cocktails were good. When I made the reservation on-line I requested a table with a river view... which was honored. I love to introduce friends to the Yardley Inn, it's a great place. Fantastic location overlooking the Delaware River. Visiting the Yardley Inn reminds me how much I love this area of PA.

Have been here twice in the past year. Strange service both times, perhaps the same server twice? She was robotic (called me mam') and seemed only interested in taking our order and moving on. On the second visit (lunch during the week) I ordered a salad and the salmon with lentils and told the sever I was gluten intolerant. Her only response was "I will let the kitchen know." Then proceeded to take the next order. After eating the salad, It took 20 minutes or so for our entrees to arrive. Halfway through my entree, I had a gluten reaction to something I had eaten. I mentioned to the hostess that I was Ill and she said they often get requests for gf meals and the kitchen understands what's involved. She said she will check with the kitchen to see what could have made me ill. I never heard from her or saw her again. Too bad. I wouldn't eat here If you're a Celiac, they obviously don't care.

We've eaten at the Yardley Inn several times. The service is always good and they have an interesting menu but... I always seem to order the most bland thing on the menu. This time I had the Griggstown Chicken Breast. It was a little dry and flavorless. The side veggies were good, especially the broccoli rabe. I'm sure we will be back but next time I'm going to have a burger. Hopefully I can't go wrong with that. (famous last words)

As much as I want to give the Yardley Inn 4 or 5 stars I just cannot. This place has a very great atmosphere, and an interesting bar. However, the last three or four times I've been here to eat I've been disappointed with the food. That is not to say the food is bad...but for what it costs I always feel it could have been a little bit better. Do not avoid this place based upon my review. However, do not be surprised if you walk out of here with a lighter wallet and a deluded feeling.

This is a fancy boathouse version of a restaurant, overlooking the Delaware in the summer (otherwise stay inside when it gets cold). Set in a former house, the rooms upstairs, especially, are basically private dining rooms. Food here is a mix of Continental American/European and they try very hard to please, although their results have come out different. There's the decor, which reminds me of eating in someone's house (more like someone's parlor) from the early turn of the 20th Century, and the place is frequented by many of the local families and elderly. Feels almost like an old boathouse atmosphere at times downstairs due to the lack of young people here. They have decent service, but I don't remember any of the food I've tried stand out there more than just a glimpse of fish (the salmon wasn't bad, and was salted properly) and the salad, which was very fresh. Pork chops were big, but not really as tasty all the way through (seasoning was definitely only for the top).

Sunday afternoon, NFL, great beer and the Yardley Inn. Visiting relatives in the area and our first time here. Great bartender. Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu items. Yard ale on tap. Superb mussels (Thai style) served in a mini Le Creuset casserole. Also, superb rolls (def made in house) for dipping. Wife's burger was really good. Honest prices, but really obvious the kitchen puts forth the effort. We'll see you again during the holidays!

I'm a big fan of the Yardley Inn. We have been there a number of times for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. Great menu, fresh ingredients, and terrific dishes. The bar area is hopping too. The crowd is older and more refined for sure, but there is great energy here. Check it out!

My family has been going to the Yardley Inn for decades - the main reason why we chose it for my mother's 70th birthday dinner (older people like what they like!). They were very accommodating setting us up with a small private room for 10 upstairs on one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year. Entering (and leaving) the restaurant, you must walk through the cloud of cigarette smoke as the smokers all stand directly in front of the door. Totally disgusting. They should have a designated smoking area AWAY from the front door. I started at the bar - a total mob scene. I wanted a Calvados Slider (the bartender had no clue what Calvados was so I settled for a nice Pinot Noir). Seriously, stick with beer, wine or easy cocktails or one of the many (and outdated) martinis on their list. Our server was lovely, and kept the wine flowing through our 3 hour dinner. We never, ever felt rushed. We started with a few dozen Cape May Salt oysters. - the lemony aioli sauce with the vinagrette was delicious. They also had the standard cocktail sauce. Salads were very nice. I had the duck breast with chestnut stuffing. The duck was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The stuffing was a little light on the chestnuts and could have used a little bit more flavor. There were no green vegetables on the plate - a small portion of asparagus or something would have been nice as I usually only have a few bites of starches and prefer a portion of vegetables. My mother had the Ricotta Gnudi - perfect little pillows (like gnocchi) of ricotta in a yummy sauce. It was delicious and filling, but if you are not accustomed to richer, buttery, creamy food, you may be up all night! The night we were there, they offered free valet parking. The valet were quick and efficient. However, the valet who brought my car around later in the evening either had horrid BO or he farted in my car. I had to put the windows down in 20 degree weather for the first 3 minutes of my drive home. What a way to end a perfectly nice evening out for my mother! Would I go back to the Yardly Inn? Of course, it is where my family likes to go. Are there better, more innovative restaurants in Bucks County? YES there are.

My favorite place for a casual and chill dinner in Yardley. Nothing gets better than the atmosphere. Food is generally flavorful and above par but sometimes on the streaky side. They are wonderful to the local patrons and it shows. They work really hard to make the menu seasonal, as well as having many wine tastings, scotch dinners, etc. Always well done. They have a wonderful three course menu for lunch and dinner, all day on Tuesdays. Also, half price wine Monday nights can not be beat. See you there!

Great setting. Great wine selection. Service was top notch. All staff were warm and welcoming and paid attention to all the details. Entrees were exactly as described. Crab cakes were exceptional. Restuarant is successful because they have a consistent wining formula.

It's hard to decide on the right score for Yardley Inn...if you're asking about the food it's 2 stars. But the drinks and happy hour also known as "5 4 5" ($5 stoli cocktails and martinis, a chosen beer and chosen red and white wine starting at 5pm) deserve 5 stars. I've never been a huge fan of the food, but the atmosphere at Yardley Inn's bar is cozy and a great mix of traditional and modern and there's always a buzzing crowd. I always get a martini and they make it perfectly and unlike some places don't cheat you by giving you a tiny glass. This is my number one choice for happy hour in Bucks County.

Either they have really, really changed or my husband and I don't agree with the previous reviews. Maybe they deserve a re-visit? I am not sure, because we were not at all impressed with the food, the prices or how when we arrived on time for our reservations, the well known guests that were standing behind us, were greeted before us loudly and given our table? We then had to wait quite awhile even though we did have reservations. Will give them one more chance.

I get emails from Yardley Inn that talk about specials and such. I got one last week that advertised Wild Boar. I was interested to try it. Went Saturday night and it was awful. It was ribs and the meat was so tough and grissly that you couldnt even get it off the bone. Usually the food is good here, but this was horrible. Don't order it.

Be forewarned! HAIR in our food! We went to Yardley Inn for drinks on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks and some appetizers (French fries and Korean-style chicken wings). The French fries were soggy and the chicken wings were like eating leather. When were had almost finished with the chicken wings, we found HAIR in the sauce. The service was terrible and we finally had to go in search of our waitress for our tab. (She was sarcastic, brought our food, and then basically ignored us for the rest of the evening.) What a total disappointment.

For the price, this place ranks a 4/5. But in absolute terms, I've had better at lower price points. My spring garden salad with walnuts, cheese, cranberries was decent. The greens weren't as fresh as I would have liked them to have been. My lobster ravioli was creamy and delicious, but again, didn't quite warrant the hefty price tag. My waitress was friendly and attentive. I reserved a table by the river, which was actually the beautiful Delaware with a roadway in between. Not ideal, but it's nice inside. Semi-pretentious clientele soured the experience a little, but otherwise a decent place to go for dinner if you don't want standard fare.

(Reasonably) fine dining isn't limited to big cities. By the Delaware River in Yardley, PA (which is in northern Bucks County, a suburb of Philadelphia), you'll find the Yardley Inn. Serving (according to its website) 'contemporary American cuisine', the restaurant is large and airy. The building looks like a substantial colonial house, and the window seats have views over the river (admittedly with route 32 in the way). The food is excellent. The crab cakes are deservedly famous, and the seafood (my personal favourite) in general is superb. The service can be a bit fussy (Hi! I'm Chuck, and I'll be your server today! - you can hear the multiple exclamation marks - and they are constantly praising your food selections excellent choice, madam!!) but is efficient and friendly. The 'tiers of taste' (sorry, I just report these names, I don't make them up) is a good value and tasty starter for two - you get to choose three appetizer sized morsels which come on a tiered tray - you get three choices for $16. Main courses at dinner time hover at the $20 - $25 dollar mark - once you've added wine and drinks (though not veg - that typically comes with your entrée), you will have spent a few dollars. The Yardley Inn also has a bar - I've had a drink in there once, and it is pleasant - and certainly more so than many other American bars I've been in. All in all, this is a good restaurant, especially if you live in the area (as my mother does). We try to get there each year when visiting.

For starts, the bar is very inviting and cozy and usually has good entertainment on weekends. I always found the food to be good to very good, recently had the small Creekstone Filet and it was delicious. The menu could use some more diversity; it seems a bit limited and could use some freshening or more selection. Service can be spotty like the other reviews suggest, although I've never had a bad experience. Prices are reasonable,

The food here is good and it's within walking distance from my Apt. I will say that they do have the best Calamari I have ever had. Calamari is an appetizer that I enjoy and I am always ordering it trying to find a new favorite. The Braised Beef Cheek Ravioli was very good. Both dishes i would recommend. Their fish entrees aren't bad either. You get a good return on your money here, it's good quality food for the price you are paying. They are constantly updating their menu and usually a crowd which lets me know they do a good repeat business.

The reviews for this place are in line with my experience, sometimes its a hit and sometimes a miss. They are more progressive then other places in the area with a nice newsletter, wine and beer events, half price bottle nights and a bar menu. But that said, every time I get something here it seems like it should be a bit better. I will say that I think they have stepped up their game in the past two years, and yes, their brunch is nice. I recommend the bloody Mary for sure.

My family and I have been patrons of the Yardley Inn on and off for years. I have been there for a shower, a couple of parties, group dinners, dinners for two, and just appetizers at the bar. Each time, no matter what the circumstance, Yardley Inn delivers. The Yardley Inn is set in an historic, quaint building overlooking the Delaware River. The decor is comfy and current, and the food is outstanding. There is a bar menu if you just want to grab a light bite, or a full dinner menu that features their awesome jumbo lump crab cakes, braised lamb shank, crispy duck, filet mignon, cioppino, and numerous fish and pasta dishes. I really can't do the menu justice, so please visit yardleyinn.com to see it for yourself. They also serve lunch, and brunch on weekends. Last night I met up with a friend of mine for some cocktails and appetizers. We both had the crab bisque which according to my friend is the best she has ever had. I must agree. Then we shared the "Tiers of Taste" appetizer, which includes three appetizers of your selection. We had the crab cakes, hummus and pita, and beef spring rolls - all delicious. The drinks are large and strong. The martinis are the size of my head. They also have an extensive wine list and selection of beers. And according to their website, they have free WiFi! In recent years they were twice hit by the flooding of the Delaware River. And each time they have renovated it back to its glory. And there is not a hint of mold, unlike a lot of other buildings that were victims of the flood.

I really like this charming, cozy and well decorated restaurant. I went here recently and sat at the bar area (which includes tables) and had the special which includes: soup or salad, entree and dessert for $19.95. Great deal considering the quality of food as well as the choices. They recently received "Best of Philly" for the pork with spaetzle so I decided to try it. It was excellent and I would recommend it. My husband had the salmon and that was also fantastic. Great spot for a night out or celebrating a special occasion.

Food is overpriced for the catering like quality. Mashed potatoes were more salt than potato. We sent back the mac and cheese that had a medicinal taste.

My wife and I went here for lunch on a Saturday. Staff were decent but nothing to rave about. I ordered salmon on a bed of black lentils and broccoli rabe in a purple mustard sauce. The salmon was a little on the dry side but the rest helped it recover. My wife had the mussels dish with the french fries. The mussels and the broth it leaves were excellent. The fries were a little soggy but good. There's an okay view of the river from the windows and a patio that looked nice. They should probably knock down the prices a bit, but definitely one of the better restaurants in the area.

I was not impressed with The Yardley Inn. We were seated right away and that was good. Drink orders taken and brought quickly. That would be the last of good service. It took almost an hour from the time we placed our order until we received our meals, and the waitress, did not check on us at all to see if we needed drinks during that hour time. The entrees we had were: Veal Osso Bucco (bland and unseasoned), Crab cakes (Stringy), Lemon Chicken ( very small portion of boneless breast, more like pigeon), and Shrimp Malfati (this was the only satisfactory entree at our table). Not at all worth what they charge, and I have no desire to return. The valet parking was a nightmare. There were at least 18 people in line for their cars when we wanted to leave. We stood in the cold as the valet brought one vehicle at a time. To sum it up, it was far from a pleasant dining experience. Slooooooooow service, waitress did not check on us, food was so-so, and the valet was just as slow as the waitress. If by chance you like overpriced small portions and Waitresses who ignore your drinks, my advice is not to come to The Yardley Inn on a weekend night. Just horrible!

Updated review here based on 3 visits over the past 6 months - first time great service and great food. Second time server got my wife's order wrong over Saturday brunch and mine was about finished by the time they got the order right and recooked her order. Third time went back for dinner this past week - really poor service, no busing of the tables, had to ask for water, bread and water refills. Waited 15 minutes with an empty wine glass (their loss in revenue!!!) and had to re-ask for bread, soup was gone by the time the bread finally emerged. Food is very good - reasonable for the price - but service is very hit-or-miss. Had I got my last service the first time I went there I would never have returned.

We went on a Monday, which is when they don't have live music. Despite this, the atmosphere and service were great. The bread and crackers were really tasty. We had the appetizer with the dates and chorizo which was out of this world. The wine list was extensive. I had the short ribs with noodles abd goat cheese, my husband had the steak and crab cake, my sister had the crab cake and mom had the farm chicken. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. None were over seasoned. The dessert, a warm walnut apple tart a l mode was also a hit. We were very pleased with the price too. We will definitely return.

Living in Yardley, Pa for several years the Yardley Inn has become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The fact that it's located on the Delaware River is a big plus in my book. Over the course of the past 7 years I have eaten there about 40-60 times. The dine in early menu is fantastic and a great value for those who can not afford the standard menu. You get 3 courses for under $20, it's a limited menu but it's a good feel of what the Yardley Inn is all about. It's a good place to bring a date, especially if you want to woo them, it's pretty fancy. I love sitting outside when the weather is nice but the car fumes/loud radios and exhausts can be slightly annoying. The crowd is much older, being in my late 20's it's a bit depressing at times. The food is good, love the salmon and lobster bisque soup, a good bang for your buck.

First, let me say how happy I was that they have Dogfish 60 minute on tap. Great selection. Second, let me say that it is a beautiful restaurant with a great bar. However, I had the single worst appitizer of my lifetime there. I still feel sick thinking about it. The Calamari was served drenched in pure honey. It was so heavy and sweet it was inedible. The short rib sandwich was so greasy that I immediately entered a food coma upon consumption.

I have been going here for years because it is one of the few places in Yardley that offers more than what is considered typical for this area- fried, fatty, starch-laden, and meat-heavy dishes. They support local farmers, and offer a decent variety of dishes. The prices are on the high side, but not unreasonable. If you want to save some money, do lunch here, or go for the "dine early" special. I once got a tummy ache after eating the crab cakes, but that was after having ordered them many times before without issue. The service is generally attentive, and the ambiance is casually fancy. There is a preserved history to the building, but with modern updates to decor- does not feel outdated. There is a full bar with decent selection of beer and wine. Also, check the calendar and newsletter on their website for promotional themed dinners and chef presentations.

Sunday dinner for 22. Have been here a few times before, mainly with private parties or large groups. Will continue with far less prejudice. Have had sub-standard service and standard food quality in my other experiences. This night was a change for the better. Menu is varied and from the silence while dining, and this group is never quiet, I would say quite good. Crab bisque was chock full of crab. Salads were ample and perfectly fork friendly.. No need for room to hack and cut 6 inch leaves. Roasted duck breast with asian pear and pomegrante molasses drizzle was enjoyed, although a little tough. Sushi-grade tuna wrapped with nori, accompanied by edamame and white wasabi was above average and ample. Homemade ricotta gnudi with sage butter and smoked prosciutto was very good as well. Pork tenderloin was sparce as entree. Unless heritage pasture raised, a larger serving is expected. Bump it up. Overall, a top notch establishment. Has improved with age. Salute.

Had dinner there with my wife 2/18 while visiting New Hope, PA. We went there with eyes wide open after reading some of the not--so-great reviews. The place was packed and they seated us in a tiny table where we were literally elbow to elbow with four guys on the other side of a low partition wall. We asked to be moved, which turned out to be a huge mistake. We wound up in the main dining room and the place was packed. No fault of the restaurant but it sounded like a middle school cafeteria, likely because of the low ceiling and heavy wood paneled walls. Two women in particular seated at adjoining tables were trying, for some unknown reason, to out scream each other. Our server, Jamie, was friendly and attentive which mitigated some of the aggravation of our inability to have even a conversation across the table. I ordered the (famous) crab bisque and my wife had a garden salad. The soup was good and my wife said the salad was excellent. I ordered beef short ribs with noodles, peas and carrots; my wife ordered the crab cakes. I tasted her crab, which she said was just "ok". I was less impressed. As for my dish, it was a gelatinous mess that tasted like overcooked stew meat and mushy noodles. I had imagined (three?) ribs with the meat still on the bone but falling off and the noodles and vegetables on the side. I had considered asking for another dish, but the atmosphere in the room was so obnoxious I just wanted to get the heck out of there. On the way back to our hotel, we both wished we had taken the suggestion of the front desk clerk for a couple of nearby taverns, where we could have enjoyed a burger, fries and a couple of drinks for half the tab at the Yardley Inn.

You MUST go to this place for brunch on the weekend. It has really great food and is way cheaper than what you'd pay for dinner. I've also gone for dinner and it's always been really good, too. The menu is small, but you can always find something you like and I think it changes often with the seasons.

Went there recently for a more formal dinner.Food and presentation were excellent. The seats we had had a great view of the water. They do offer and early bird dinner which attracts a lot of people, so it can get noisy at times. I'd probably ask for a later reservation next time. The wine list has a nice selection of mid-range (in terms of quality and price) wines. I would definitely dine there again!

We have been regular customers for years and tonight had a bad experience primarily to management. The happy hour drinks have for the last many years had included top shelf absolute vodka, well tonight stoli was the happy hour vodka and when we ordered our regular absolute martini we were told after the fact the absolute was not longer at happy hour prices. A bait and switch that as regular customers we did not expect. The female manager cited that the policy had recently changed and that absolute was now top shelf above stoli. Now we are not vodka snobs and Smirnoff would have been fine but we should have been informed prior to our ordering drinks. Then we were told by the waiter that we could not split the check and use our club card points. Why have a club card. We will try the Washington crossing inn next weekend, maybe they will be more astute to regular customers. The braised ribs were good, but it is a matter of principle that you treat regular customers the best and we were not treated the best by management. We dine out 2-3 times per week and suggest that the Knight House in doylestown treats it's customers much better.

I visited here for dinner during a business trip. The place is a bit pricey but they back that up with quality food, and my company was paying so I didn't care. I really like the the ambiance in the evening, dimly lit overall, but with just the adequate lighting at the table, creating a sense of privacy in an otherwise public environment. I felt very comfortable eating here. It's also beautifully located along a scenic riverside.

Very nice place and the drinks are poured with a greatly appreciated heavy hand. Shared the Teir app sampler of beef spring rolls, assorted dips and calamari. The beef spring rolls where okay but the calamari and dips were very good and the portion was perfect. We also had the crab bisque and shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were large and very delicious and the bisque was amount the best I've had. After finishing my 2nd espresso martini and my wife finished her 2nd glass of chard we decided to share the jumbo lump crabcake dinner. Portion was perfect but the cakes were lukewarm. Besides that, the food was very flavorful and packed with crab meat! Onto dessert! Shared the creme brûlée and it was excellent. Carmalized top and creamy inside. Wait staff could make more eye contact but friendly and timely. Romantic dinner for two? Be prepared, it's a loud atmosphere.

Food is sometimes good, sometimes ehhhhh...I live in town and have eaten here numerous times...the atmosphere is great, next to the river, old school colonial, General Washington sort of feel.., drinks are good, service pretty good but the price of entrees makes me feel like its gonna be great but always somehow dissappoints a little bit

I've eaten here twice: once a year ago on a job interview dinner, and once today on a business lunch with coworkers from the job I was interviewing for when I ate here the first time. So with those two starting experiences, I'll probably never be able to eat here outside of work. But that's OK, because I'm not sure I'd ever want to. The interior is pretty classy and pretty comfortable, and during the day, some of the seats in one of the dining rooms has an OK but not great view of the Delaware River. The host and wait staff are pretty professional and slightly formal, and along with the white tablecloths, you end up feeling like you're at a pretty nice, old school supper club. You pay well for it at dinner, though. Lunch is a different story which is probably why there were no spaces available in the huge parking lot today. The quality and specialness of the food are the same, but the portions are slightly smaller, and way cheaper. Its a really good deal based on how fancy the setting and the food are, so I am a fan of this place for lunch.

Ohh the Yardley Inn. I've been going to this place since I was a tiny tot. Had my high school graduation brunch (complete with grandma's and aunts!) in its dining room. The bar has been the setting for many an important conversation, and cocktail fueled political argument. The Yardley Inn has been woven into my life like mom's cooking and although I now live in Chicago, the Yardley Inn's bar is always the first place my dad and I go to catch up. We sit at the bar, Frank makes wine suggestions, pours us cocktails and asks how i've been, how the dog is, all the questions an old friend - and a great bartender - remember to ask. When in chicago, there are many nights when I long for the comfort of the the Yardley Inn bar, the flowing cocktails, and the unbeatable food. I almost always order off the bar menu, for lighter, more upscale pub grub, but I absolutely LOVE the ungreedy option of a smaller plate vs. the hungry man's plate you'll find on the dinner menu. In the summertime, the chef makes a MEAN lobster roll, I think you'd have to travel on up to the Mystic to find the next best one. The Yardley Burger is a greasy monster of a gourmet burger, the filets are usually cooked perfectly, and the crispy sesame crakery type things they give you to munch on are hard to quit eating. Oh... also, Y.I. tweets great deals every now and again that only the tech savvy are in the know on, so make sure you follow them on Twitter!

Stopped there for lunch last Saturday and what a nice place. Sits right on the Delaware and if it's a nice day and you want to sit outside there are table available. We had the soft shell crab over romaine and fresh tomatoes, and the chorizo risotto with peas and shrimp. Both were very good. The wait staff is very pleasant and if it was closer to where I lived would go back for dinner.

This place is old school, a perfect place to take my parents for a good meal without going to Philadelphia. It was a bit loud on a Saturday night, but they make great food, great drinks, and good service. Its a nice location, overlooks the river and has a parking area for easy access. The crowd is older, but not dull older, classy older. But its classy mellow, not classy uptight. You can dress up, but a nice sweater and slacks will work for those men who loath jackets.

Had lunch here with my mom on a weekday. We both loved the decor, and the view of the river from the dining room where we ate. Our waitress was friendly and helpful in suggesting meals. We both did the lunch deal - soup, entree, dessert for flat price. Great deal and the food was excellent. I had the bisque becuase I read good things about it on here - and it was excellent. I had the mussels - huge meal, I couldnt finish it. The mussels were quality, fairly big, for mussels, and not gritty. The broth they were served in was excellent. We both got french fries with our meals, where were okay. They tasted like they had some kind of seasoning or where cooked in a sunflower or peanut oil - I forgot to ask. I will certainly go back. The ambience is nice - cloth table cloths and cloth napkins, really comfy chairs. We were in jeans, but nice sweaters, so we didnt feel under dressed, but I wouldnt go in a t-shirt.

I had a business lunch here and it was wonderful. The blueberry muffins as a complimentary starter were so delicious and sweet! The crab bisque was very crabby, but I would have liked chunks instead of stringy crab. I got the crab cakes as my entree and they were great. The green beans were also tasty, but the whipped potatoes lacked flavor. Overall a nice and cute spot!

I'm shocked this place only has 3.5 stars. I've lived here for a few months and we never stopped by. I saw the menu and was surprised by how inventive it was. We went and had an AMAZING dinner. We will definitely be back. It would have been a well-priced meal too if my boyfriend didn't order everything on the menu! We got a special which was wild boar two ways (rib and some other way I forget). It was amazing. The meat was fall of the bone and it came with a size of the most delicious beans. I hope they make that a menu staple, because I could eat that once a week. We also got the gnudi which was heavely soft pillows of ricotta. I loved how it had pumpkin seeds and the butternut squash was cooked well. It was the perfect dish to contrast the boar. For appetizers, we got a cheese plate which was very good and they use local cheese which I love. We also got the truffled potato perogis which were good, but pretty greasy (I know, that's expected). I will definitely be back for the gnudi alone. Yum.

Have been dining at the Yardley Inn for over 4 years now. My personal faves are the crab bisque, marguerita salad, and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. They get very busy for their Sunday brunch so if you want a window view, I recommend making reservations. Overall, excellent service and the food has always been great.
