I used to go there from time to time until I paid closer attention to the operation and noticed workers collecting money ( and they only take cash) from people then going right back to making sandwiches. The guys that cook on the grill seem to just do that. The workers that make the cold sandwiches also run the cash register. They don't wash their hands after handling money and they don't wear gloves to prepare the food . The food is your general steak sandwich, fry, hoagie, sort of place. The food is usually good. I just stopped going because it's kind of a dirty place. I always just dealt with the poor customer service since it's just a steak sandwich joint but they should clean the place up a bit, and be friendlier to the people spending money there. If I ever here that has happened, I'll give them another shot. I'm giving the poor rating mostly because of the place is in need of a facelift, and the poor customer service.

Nothing overly special, but it is a convenient place to a grab a cheesesteak near Widener University. This was my go-to spot for steak sandwiches back in my college days. It was here that I was introduced to the cheesesteak hoagie. A great sandwich but it gets soggy fast! Cash only but they do have an ATM in the "tavern" portion of the establishment. Beware though as it can be quite smokey in there if you need to use it. The majority of their business is definitely take-out but there is a seating area. A fine selection of chips and beverages as well.

Guess what people...Liberty is cutting back on their sandwiches. It used to be not long ago, you would have to take someone with you to carry the sandwich out, not anymore. Last sandwichs I bought there were definitely short . Their cutting back on the meat on the hoagies.. if I wanted a Vega table sandwich I would have asked for that. I would pay 3 more dollars for that large hoagie to have it done right...I know once you start that stuff it's just a matter of time before it affects your customer base.

Place used to be my favorite steak shop however it has gone way downhill in the last couple years. Steak is lower quality than it used to be, not as much care or skill goes in to mixing the steak and cheese and the staff is downright rude.

It is what it is...which is a dive bar. If that's what your looking for then do it to it.
