Yum yum yum. Had the no huevos rancheros and previouslty the coconut french toast, both of which really hit the spot. Friends had the oreo pancakes, giant plates of eggs with all the fixin's and, of course, the complimentary mimosas. Clean, funky spot with great food, a nice vibe and oh yeah, great food.

There is a solid argument here to go 5 stars, but I'll put 4 with an asterisk. I only really had the burger...not anything on the breakfast end....and it looks like that is a main thing that drives people here. I was expecting Griddle 145 to be a diner....but it really wasn't. It's more like a little bistro / cafe like place mixed in with a diner. It was much nicer inside than I was expecting (not fancy or fine dining...just a clean, cozy look to the place). Went here with a friend for lunch. Both of us had a burger, which we both enjoyed. I have to say from my perspective, might be one of the top 10 burgers I've had in my life believe it or not. GREAT ROLL...and anyone who likes burgers knows that can make or break the whole thing. I recommend the Griddle 145 burger....stuffed with mushrooms and onions inside. Excellent. Opted for the side of Mac and Cheese with bacon........nothing from a box at all......homemade (a burger comes with chips.....you can get friends or regular mac cheese...or even slaw...for a buck more......they'll do the bacon in the Mac and Cheese for a little more than that). I AM NOT A MAC CHEESE PERSON.....frankly...I'm not into it...but I have to tell you....it was really good and I'd get it again as well. The menu is two sides....Griddle 145 isn't trying to wow you with a million different items...I'm thinking they have fewer items, but are doing them all well from the looks of what they offer and the people at the other tables. In the end....go here...and I think you will be pleased.....server was attentive and friendly, place was very clean. If you had a gun to my head on a complaint......it would be hard to say. If I was to be insanely nit-picky, the place was a bit too quiet. A little music or something playing might liven it up.

This place place has great food and plenty of it Went in Father's Day and the touch with the complimentary mimosa was a nice touch The only thing that prevented me from give this place 5 stars was my waitress. She was nice but sort of forgot about our large party and I had to look for her I. The restaurant for my bill. (She was sitting in a booth chit chatting

Love this place for breakfast/brunch. They have some fun menu items from multiple ways to have eggs benedict to a fabulous Monte Cristo. The atmosphere is more upscale restaurant than diner, it's clean, great decor. The staff is always pleasant. If you haven't tried this place already...what are you waiting for?? The only suggestion I have for Griddle 145--Will you get an espresso machine already! I'd love a latte with breakfast :)

Excellent. Awesome food and service in an area most would not think to stop. Had a group of six and everyone was happy with their breakfast choices. Full stomachs and food so good that despite being full, you just keep on eating! A true gem in the Lehigh Valley!

On my first visit, I was welcomed by the staff upon entering and quickly seated with no wait. The waitress was very accomodating and attentive throughout my entire sitting, something that is much to be desired at other restaurants in the area. The menu is simply put together and it does not bombard you with many choices---which is a plus. I ordered the stuffed strawberry brioche french toast which was delightful and well presented. If you are in the mood for french toast, definitely worth trying. There are many other items in the menu, particularly in the 'specialties' that I will certainly try on my next visits. I would also like to add that I arrived just around lunch hour on a Saturday and it was quite busy.

Situated along the Delaware River in bucolic Bucks County Pennsylvania the Black Bass is in the ultimate setting. Five of us visiting here for a Sunday Brunch were promptly seated on the deck with a spectacular view of the river. Our server promptly arrived to greet us and explain the four course prixe fixe menu that included unlimited champagne. Throughout our visit we found her to be professional, friendly, and efficient. We were so busy chatting among ourselves on a beautiful sunny day that we were not bothered that the service was a bit slow. We were thoroughly pleased by the variety of the menu offerings. The crab cake was perfect, with an abundance of lump crab properly seasoned and accompanied by freshly prepared vegetables. The shrimp with grits was a delicious combination of grilled shrimp in a tomato sauce over creamy grits. The petite filet did not appear to be as described on the menu, rather it was likely a lesser cut of beef. Our consensus was that our experience here was most positive and of excellent value. We would not hesitate to recommend the Black Bass for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience.

After 30+ minutes of deciding which brunch restaurants to eat at, we finally chose Griddle 145. I was happy we chose this place. On the outside it just looks like a regular diner joint. But once you walk inside, it was really pretty. Green walls and orange seats. It sounds tacky but it's nice when you're actually there. We sat down, we ordered our food. Let me tell you the serving size is basically good for 2/3 meals of your day. My older sister ordered her Oreo waffle (she does not like pancakes.) her boyfriend ordered some ranchero plate lol. It's freaking huge. Possible the size of two plates together. He also ordered the red velvet pancake. Which I was not too crazy about. If you asked me it's a bit bland. My little sister ordered her kids menu and it's basically an adult size. I ordered the Strawberry Brioche French Toast. It was delicious! And a lot. Let's just say I could only finish 2/4 parts of the waffle. After a while it does get too sweet. Let's just say their COMPLEMENTARY MIMOSA washed the sweetness down lol If it's free, it's for me! The wait was long but we did not mind. Free wifi. Ask receptionist for PW. Would I return? Yes ma'am.

The food was awesome, and service very courteous. Good coffee. I ordered the huevos rancheros as it comes on the menu. I'd recommend it, and I'm probably getting the same the next time I'm there. When the dish comes out, it looks like a huge mess of veggies, beans, shredded pork, and salsa with sunny side up eggs on top. But it's actually beautiful chaos on a plate, and all of the flavors meld together so nicely. It's a great combination and one of my favorite breakfast dishes.

Overall pretty good! Came around 11:30 on a rainy Saturday and had to wait for someone to pull out so that we could park. Normally a good sign. Wait was only a few minutes and we had a nice table right in the middle of the restaurant. Water & coffee showed up quickly while we perused the very, very long menu! Order went in and while I expected food to take a bit considering that they were packed, we all had food on our table in under 15 minutes. Crab benedict, breakfast tostadas, fried chicken hash & banana bourbon french toast were all very good! I though the fried chicken hash would be all chopped up like a has, but was a fried chicken chunk on one side with gravy, potatoes in the middle and eggs on the other side (served with toast). It was good but not served as I had expected. The only one who was still hungry was my husband who had the french toast, but he filled up eating some of mine (and I still had leftovers to take home). Fair prices for the very large size of most entrees. Not super close for us so not an everyday choice, but a place we'll surely make it back to before too long.

Such a nice breakfast! It was a rainy Saturday morning and we enjoyed the food, the staff and the environment. The omelets were really good! The cheesy jalapeño grits were creamy, rich and yummy (not really spicy at all though.) The coffee was good and plentiful. The potatoes that came with the omelet were crisp, salted and had a touch of Rosemary that was delicious. Try it, you will like it!

2nd time here. Very friendly staff, complimentary mimosa. Had the short rib hash. It was excellent. Coffe is fantastic. Another 5 star breakfast.

The breakfasts are definitely a step above the local diners. Great presentation with their dishes. I usually share the monte cristo and it's sinfully delicious! My rating today is based on my late lunch yesterday... Fish tacos were not so great. Nice presentation with the dish, but the block of fried fish inside the taco was tough to chew, very greasy and lacked any flavor. I was very disappointed as I was so excited to take my parents to try something new. They were not impressed and my dad is typically not very picky.

In a multi-ethnic nabe on the border between Allentown and Whitehall/Fullerton, Griddle 145 doesn't really jump out. I had driven past it probably a half-dozen times and never noticed it. But lo and behold...we get another top performer in the breakfast/lunch/brunch department, a niche in the restaurant world that seems to be really trendy these days. And, amazingly, most of them are good! (But then they have to be, to compete with all the others.) From what I've tried, Griddle 145 still takes my top spot in the Lehigh Valley. Beginning with the slap-ya-mammy flavor of some dang strong coffee, I continued with the scallion pancake and the jalapeno grits. While it looked more like a quesadilla than a pancake (or a latke or a crepe), it still had a great little sweet undertone to the mostly savory onion/soy sauce/egg combination. Superlative! The grits weren't the consistency I was expecting, nor were they that spicy, but they were flavorful. The avocado pepper interior has enough of a mid-century mod feel to keep the yuppies coming back, and yuppies often have high standards for their chow. Service was perfectly attentive, and they were apologetic when my meal came out a bit later than everyone else's...which I didn't mind one bit. My group of runners--admitted pretty yuppie as well--all seemed to think it was a success, so now we're just trying to find reason to convince an Easton-based club to come out and run the trails of Allentown again so we can all be justly rewarded with another great meal at Griddle 145!

Yelp helped my friends and I find Griddle 145, and I had to return the favor. You probably wouldn't notice the place driving by it on the highway, but this is my absolute favorite brunch spot in the area. The service is great and fast. We once came the morning after a particularly long night and Pete took our complicated orders like a champ. They're very friendly and attentive here. On to food. The red velvet pancake. Oh my god. Topped with chocolate chips and.... MAPLE CREAM CHEESE. Unreal. Perfect to split with a friend so you can each try something else on the menu..... The backyard burger is phenomenal. I ordered it without bbq and instead got some of their chipotle mayo. Yum. My friends usually go for the crispy chicken sandwich (this chipotle mayo is no joke). And I love that you can mix breakfast and lunch. A bacon egg and cheese on a brioche bun with a side of mac and cheese? Yes please. Great coffee too!

  • John A.

Way overrated. When I said my waffle was cold they brought back same one. Which tells me they put in microwave. Uggg Kitchens should throw out all microwaves. I would have stayed at the hotel if I wanted microwave. I travel and use high calories. So when I saw four stars I expected to have a good breakfast. People need to eat out more often if they rate this place a four star. But even with out the bad breakfast I would not rate this place at most 3 stars and that's mainly because place was clean.

  • Ace K.

Good food, friendly service, clean restaurant, parking available. I came for brunch So I don't know whether there's many people during other hours. Although the restaurant decor is nice, the place is smaller than those typical typical chain diner like IHOP. I ordered my breakfast: 2 eggs, toast, potatoes and bacon for $6.95, which was large size portion and tasted good. I also tried the coconut banana French toast. It was delicious and I'll recommend a must try! They have coconut shreds in the French toast with banana slices and powdered white sugar on top and whipped butter on the side and syrup for those sweet tooth lovers. Omg, just writing this review makes me want to go back and order more! I'll blame the fat girl in me, lol. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area.

You are in luck if you're nearby. Looking for a good brunch place in Allentown? This is it. I'll like to start off by sending my deepest gratitude to the servers who were all very attentive and nice The hostess welcomes everyone and is really sweet. The inside of the restaurant is cozy, warm and inviting. Thankfully, we came in on a Sunday---complimentary mimosa I craved everything in the menu but tried out their brunch staples (chicken and waffles). Which were by far the best I've tried so far. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and I would have to say, I started off my Sunday with a bang!

I have nothing bad to say about Griddle 145! This place has the best pancakes I've ever ate! I never had red velvet pancakes before and theirs were amazing! I'll be back for more for sure!

By far the best spot for breakfast in the Lehigh Valley. I (f word) hate diners. They're the worst. This place is definitely NOT a diner. It's a (f word) griddle and it's amazing. Coffee:perfect. Service:perfect. Food:perfect. Get the Buster! PS....complimentary Mimosa included.

Went around 10:30-11am on a Saturday, it wasn't crowded we were waited on quickly and literally 5 minutes later our food came out! I mean I was starved so I was happy however my boyfriend and I didn't have much time to talk and enjoy being out. I had the french toast it was awesome, a very large portion. He had an omelette with pulled pork that he said was delicious. We both cleaned our plates. I would come back if I'm in the area and recommend it.

  • Jennifer C.

Wow! This is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had! The food is incredible! I had the stuffed brioche French toast and my husband had the huevos rancheros. It was obvious everything was fresh house made. Topped off with complimentary mimosa. Not your typical diner food. Very cool decor, super clean, friendly attentive wait staff. It is also great to find a place with upscale brunch food that is kid friendly. If you want the best breakfast in the valley this is the place go.

Came in here for a quick brunch after seeing All the reviews. Never been to Lehigh Valley so yelp was a must. It lived up to all the reviews!!! Service was friendly and quick, no wait for two around 2. Always had our water, coffee and tea filled. Tea came in a cute white pot which I always like. My bf and I split the Huevos Racheros (which is a favorite here and we saw at another table and our mouths watered) along with the steak omelet - a special today . They were both excellent and glad we split the Huevos. The steak omelet was simple with peppers and onions. Served with toast and breakfast potatoes. Huevos was amazing, even if we mushed ours all around so we couldn't tell what was what. The pulled pork was a tasty addition and really liked the sunny side eggs on top. Tip: add hot sauce!! This place definitely isn't a diner in terms of decor and vibe... Which is comfortable and quirky. But diner sized portions with a creative menu! Loved it!

  • Geoffrey K.

One of the better brunch spots in the Lehigh Valley, they don't serve alcohol but it's BYOB and they give you complimentary mimosa's, which in turn should lead to a five-star review, but I've had a dish or two that could have used more seasoning although most of the time everything is very good. The staff are always polite and knowledgeable, get there early though because their parking lot gets PACKED in the afternoon.

A must if you are in Allentown or Bethlehem. Discovered Grille 145 on Yelp when looking for some place to eat while visiting family. Came on a Sunday and again the following Friday. Today I shared the crab omelette and stuffed french toast with my wife. Both were outstanding. The crab was excellent - both taste and quantity. The french toast is very large, make sure you are hungry. You won't be afterwards.

Probably the best breakfast in the valley. If your a breakfast aficionado you must try it! Trust me when I say there is nothing else in the valley that compares to it. Ever since Billy's downtown diner turned into a slop house I have been searching for another upscale breakfast restaurant. Honestly this is it! You won't be disappointed.

Quite possibly one of the best French toast meals I've ever had! My wife had the omelet (Momma's) and I tried a bite of that as well...perfect! Do yourself a favor and try this place out.

I've been to this place plenty of times and it's always great food, atmosphere, and people. It's breakfast done right. Even down to the hand selected teas that you can choose from. For being in the heart of the Lehigh Valley and surrounded by diner country, this place brings in a fresh selection of creative dishes that you can't find anywhere else. The owners Sherry and Taylor are very friendly and service is impeccable. Hands down this is the best breakfast/brunch place. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

My husband and I are always up for trying "Mom & Pop" kinds of places. We were visiting Allentown and wanted to see what places were the "Go To." Griddle 145 seemed to be a good choice. When we got there there was about three tables sat. We were immediately seated and greeted with a friendly demeanor. Our food arrived fairly quickly, I ordered the Strawberry Cream Cheese Brioche French Toast. Pretty sure my eyes couldn't get any wider at the size of French Toast. The portions are generous and the french toast was great. I enjoyed it and would gladly order it again if were in area again. My husband had breakfast potatoes that were forgettable and unevenly cooked. Service was fairly good in the beginning, however, as our dining experience continued we were attended to less and less. Granted the restaurant had started to fill with the late morning crowd. Eventually we had to go to the front desk in order to get our check to leave. Understandably so given the fact the waiter was also the cashier and the waiter for the entire restaurant. With another waiter or someone to man the cashier/seating, the restaurant would have no fault in my eye, but certainly would give it a second chance as the food was good. Still, give it a shot!

Awesome breakfast! Had the Huevos Rancheros and highly recommend this to anyone. Love the atmosphere, service and unique menu options.

  • Nicole H.

Horrible service. I was made to wait for a table because 2 of my party members were not there yet. Even when I stated I, and the other individual I was with, personally wanted to sit so I could have a drink and review the menu, and potentially order prior to the last arrival, I was told no. I was on a different timeframe then the two people coming, I should not have had to beg to be seated. I repeat, horrible service.

The food is absolutely amazing! Whenever I want a delicious breakfast this is my go to spot. Byob so you can make mimosas also. the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

We stopped in here for lunch, were fairly satisfied. I had a BLT which isn't on the menu but they made it for me anyway, which is nice. The rye bread is legit. The tea comes with a whole pot of water, and it's organic. If that makes a difference to you. My boyfriend had Daddy's omelet. He said it was better than average, but wished he could have green peppers or some choice of vegetable in. It was a generous portion, not too much that he was overstuffed. It came with potatoes which he said were outstanding. The decor is very nice and modern, and the bathroom door opens outward from inside, so hands free! If you care about that. I know I do. We also ordered the Reese's torte to go and I'm expecting that to be amazing. Would love to come back and try the banana coconut French toast! Also, for the vegan or lactose intolerant crowd out there, they have almond milk on the menu!

So fresh and delicious! First time eating here and also eating huevos rancheros soooo addicting. Lemon ricotta pancakes w blueberry compote... out of this world. I'll be back on Sundays for mimosas!

  • Solange G.

First, I'd like to say that the food wasn't bad by any means. Was it something to rave home about? No. As complete dishes (breakfast menu is where we ordered from) there were components that shined while the others were mediocre and, at times, completely mislabeled on their menus. But let's start from the beginning of our experience... My husband and I drive in and find that parking is limited on a Sunday morning. Not completely surprising as Sundays are prime breakfast outings for families and individuals alike. We circled around (as in drove around a few blocks due to the one way main road) twice in an effort to score parking. Clearly, this place is a commodity and very popular. We scored parking after being a bit aggressive in the tight parking lot. There is a wait and we decide because we are new to the area and wanted to try a new breakfast place (my favorite meal of the day) we would stay. We are seated and immediately greeted by our server. She's nice enough. Doesn't exactly exude warmth, but fine I'll take it. They offer complementary mimosas but we were not offered any (I didn't know this coming in). We don't know her name or really anything and just order coffee and water. My husband decides on the Breakfast Tostada (two corn tortillas filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, pico de gallo, green onions with a side of home fries) and a side of cheesy jalapeño grits. I get the special called Breakfast Mashup ( two crispy mashed potato cakes filled with breakfast meats and cheese topped in cheese sauce with eggs and toast) and one buttermilk pancake (I was very hungry). His tostadas were mediocre. First on flour tortillas (not the biggest deal) and not well seasoned. He said it was good after he added all his seasonings. The grits were pretty great. My food was also okay. The potato cakes were good but the rest was blah. The single pancake was HUGE. So food was alright. I definitely have had a lot better elsewhere and the service elsewhere was top notch. The manager or owner was extremely friendly and came around refilling coffees. She was a saving grace in terms of experience and customer service. Like I said, it wasn't awful. It was alright. We would go again if in a pinch and in the area but we would definitely pick elsewhere over here. In terms of price, it wasn't outrageously expensive especially for the amount of food we ordered. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would. It just doesn't get the full 4 from me.

Okay food and good service combine for an alright brunch. The "Taylors Hot Mess" showcased instant grits with some tough slices of steak in a mildly spicy enchilada sauce. My girlfriend had the orchard French toast which was overly sweet but enjoyable to the eyes and good in a smaller portion. Overall the experience was okay but not very memorable.

Ate brunch with friends on Sunday. This place was a pleasant surprise. The wait was about 20 mins since they were packed, which seemed like a good sign. The hostess wasn't very friendly, but it didn't bother me much. Finally we were sat. The waitress we got was nice, but not as speedy as you'd expect. We all ordered drinks including a complimentary mimosa! Yum! Two of us got eggs Benedict Florentine which was yummy but needed more sauce. One got chicken and waffles and the other an omelet...all good! Prices were reasonable too!

Really love the breakfast here at Griddle145. They have creative and delicious options to choose from. Simple menu but everything on it is mouth-watering. Personally I really enjoy all their French toasts and their breakfast burrito is on a different level in terms of quality and deliciousness. They boast a great, friendly staff and are located near the Lehigh valley mall.

After a long morning of the "where to eat" game with my sisters and boyfriend we decided to hit up this little gem for brunch on a Sunday. Let me start by saying that the pictures on here do not do this place justice at all! I was unsure of this place from just looking at the pictures. Anyway, when we walked in I was blown away by the look and feel of the place. I was expecting you typical mom and pop diner. It's nothing like that. It's very classy and elegant and very well furnished. The portion size of the food here is crazy. Be prepared for huge portions, come hungry! The food here is very delicious. I got the Waffle version of the Oreo pancake, because I'm not a pancake fan, and the waffle was too big for me to finish. My little sister got the kids meal with bacon eggs and toast, it was def. adult sized. My boyfriend got the Huevos Rancheros (sp?) I didn't have any but it smelled great and portion was, again, huge. I couldn't believe he ordered a red velvet pancake as well. The pancake, was the size of the plate. I def couldn't have finished 2 by myself. My other sister and I each also got a complementary mimosas. Any place that gives free mimosas is good in my book! Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and accommodating (allowing me to sub. a waffle instead of pancakes). Overall this place gives you more than your money's worth, great service, and a very happy tummy.

Excellent! We went for breakfast and everything was delicious. The Monte Cristo is huge and very good. Banana foster french toast was out if this world. There was no wait to be seated and the restaurant is nice, clean and spacious. Only complaint is the parking lot. The lot is small and difficult to maneuver. Glad to have found another great breakfast place in the valley that's not over packed.

My mom and I were staying with my brother in Allentown for 3 days and I found Griddle 145 on Yelp. After reading some good reviews we decided to check it out for ourselves. And ended up eating there the next 3 days in a row! This place is small and doesn't look like much from the outside, but it had a great variety of food, decent prices, and very friendly staff. My only slight question is that while I see a lot of reviews mention free mimosas on Sundays, I do have to note that we didn't receive any. It could be that it was Mothers Day when I was there though and the restaurant was pretty busy, but I did see other people with mimosas on their table. We waited about 30 mins to eat and when we sat down we weren't offered them. I didn't ask because it wasn't super important, but just an observation.

Came here for the first time and We will be back! Prices are just right and food is delicious my wife had the 145 sandwich and I had the daddy's omelette both were amazing. Place is nice and clean and doesn't feel like a regular diner more cozy and warm. Fresh ground coffee was good and for breakfast desert we had a nutter butter pancake. Definitely recommend for breakfast.

This isn't our first visit and will most certainly not be our last! Friendly waitstaff, unique menu and great prices.

Might be a little hard to find if you're not from the area especially if heading South on 145. Clean, quiet with a pleasant atmosphere. They claim farm fresh local ingredients and I can confirm that with at least one local farmer. Inspired by Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives according to a news article. Husband / wife team = chef / baker and responsible for the interior design. Complimentary mimosa on this Sunday morning. My wife ordered Red Velvet Pancakes and I ordered Huevos Rancheros and the pork was delicious as was the entire plate. The cream cheese icing on the pancake was equally delicious, not too sweet and just right. The pancakes were moist and flavorful. The Lehigh Valley needs more choices like Griddle145. We WILL be back.

Very nice place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! This was out first time and we loved it! Can't wait to try something else on the menu! The Belgian waffles are awesome!

Really enjoyed getting to start out the day w/ breakfast at this place...cool and creative dishes along with your traditional breakfast choices. I had the chicken and waffles and it was incredible...definitely would go back next time in Allentown!

This is a small shop with friendly service. I believe the service can make or break a restaurant. The breakfast was good rather than a IHOP. They make speciality pancakes and French Toast as well. We tried the coconut banana pancakes and it was tasty. I also ordered the two eggs with toast and home fries, it was decent. Would recommend this place for breakfast in this area.

Great breakfast - pleasant servers and really nice modem decor. All in all, a lovely breakfast experience to end our skiing weekend at Blue Mtn.

Love their breakfast food! All varieties of fench toast on the menu is delicious. The Monte Cristo is a great tasting sandwich - very large and filling too. Haven't tried their lunch items, so can't review on those. Service there is average - nothing great and nothing awful. And if you are a potato fan, you have to definitely try the home fries.

You can feel the positivity and awesome energy pulsing through atmosphere and they make a hell of a breakfast there as well. Keep it up Griddle 145

Horrible service and management. Skipped over for seating many times for parties with reservations that weren't even there and even for parties that would be there 20 mins after the moment we got up and walked out. Should learn how to run a resturant.

We went here with a party of 6 one Sunday morning. It is a great brunch place in the LV! Our group has a variety of eating preferences- from vegan to the complete opposite and gluten-free, and 145 was able to handle all of them easily! They do get quite busy on the weekends but when I called to see if they take reservations they said that they could put my name on the waiting list a few minutes before I planned to arrive and it worked out perfectly. I can't promise they'll do that for everyone though.

I've eaten here at least once a week since they've opened, don't know why it took so long to write this review. Amazing isn't a good enough word for this place. It's a true gem in an otherwise forgotten strip of Whitehall, where a few blocks up the street you'll find nothing but underwhelming chain food with terrible service and often lines (why would anyone wait in line to eat at Olive Garden is beyond me?). Walking in you're greeted with bright colors on the walls and a friendly smile from the hostess. One thing that's immediately apparent is that you aren't crammed into space, the owners took the time and thought about what would really make a solid impression, I appreciate that I'm not bumping elbows with the person at the next table. The booths are over-sized, the tables on the other half of the restaurant put far enough apart and there's still plenty of room that you won't get hip-checked by any of the wait staff. They could have easily fit several more 4-tops in there, but they chose not to. The wait staff are all great, attentive, quick and actually knowledgeable about the food. Too many places here in the valley don't let the staff actually try the food, or teach them how it's made, what's in it or how it's prepared, leaving them to guess based on what the menu says and how it looks. Shame on them. Props to Griddle 145. Menu wise, everyone, and I mean everyone will find something here to enjoy. It's not uncommon to go there with one other person and order 3 things off the menu, usually sharing one of the amazing pancake specials they have. I often see this at other tables. Vegan friendly food is on the menu and weekly specials based on seasonal produce are put on the big chalk board. A bevvy of cupcakes and other nomz round out the desserts. I've never left hungry. Let me repeat that, I've never left hungry! With the addition of dinner hours on Thursday - Sunday, I've had the chance to sample many of the entrees, all equally as good as the breakfast fare. Free Wi-Fi is available and they have a private room that will seat something like 24, perfect for lunch meetings, small conferences or birthday celebrations. Rediscover Whitehall and let someone else make you breakfast, you'll thank me for it.

Wow. Wow wow wow. I was not expecting how good and cool this place was! I was on a recent road trip and didn't know a darn thing about Allentown, but I love good food. Did a search, and found Griddle 145. They are only open for breakfast and dinner, but the menu was upscale and creative. I got the Mama's omelette which was fresh, delicious, AND a minor work of art! You can tell they really take pride in their food. You can go to an average diner and get average food for the same price that you would pay getting an OUTSTANDING meal at Griddle 145. The atmosphere is artistic and creative, bathrooms were immaculate. Service was friendly and quick. Overall, a terrific experience, and I will make it a point to come back next time I'm in the area.

I have been to '145' twice in the last month and will go again, but... be careful what you order. So far the score is: BRUNCH: 4.75 Stars LUNCH: Food 1 star, Service 4 stars BRUNCH: A REASON TO SMILE! :-) First visit we went for an early brunch right at 9 a.m. on a Sunday (waiting for the Mall to open). It was FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC! The place is clean and cool and surprisingly hip for the Lehigh Valley. The hostess and waitresses were great! We got sat and had coffee on the table in under 2 minutes. GREAT. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles (OMG good!) and the Special Crabby Bennie (also great, but very slim on the hollandise sauce...and the sauce was lacking lemon) See my pics #22 & 23 in the photo gallery. The comp Mimosa was fun. I think made with asti(?)....off-dry. it was fun. By the time we left around 10:30 the place was getting crowded. We were thrilled we found such a great place. LUNCH: MUSHY Lunch :-( Second visit was for late lunch on a Wednesday. Again, we were sat and served beverages within 2 minutes--great! I tried to ordered the "Havanna"-cuban-like sandwich, but it was 86ed. So I ordered the "145 Club". Chicken breast, bacon, fried egg, avocado, mayo and Lett&tom on white bread. I was expecting a traditional three-tiered club on toasted bread. Instead I got a HEAP of food on two pieces of untoased white bread. It was also covered in mayo and there was wet iceburg lettuce between each layer of food making the 'club' super wet and slippery. The "club sandwich" turned to mush in about 2 minutes. It was a pile of good tasting ingredients, but the effect was off-putting. My hubby ate half with knife and fork. It was just a "bad sandwich"--good ingredients, bad execution. We did clean our plate, again, the flavors were good and we were starved. Such a shame they called this sandwich the "145 Club" ..does that make it their signature? Shame. The reason that my hubby had to eat most of my 'club' was because he ordered, what might be, the most boring, flavorless "taco" on the planet. The "chicken tacos" with "house made salsa" was, in fact two COLD flour tortillas stuffed with too-wet shredded lettuce, dried-out pre-shreded cheese also cold, pre-grilled, luke-warm dried-out chicken breast pieces, and a topping of diced tomatoes with some herbs. No acid, no flavor, so spice--at all! My hubby asked the very nice server if they had any salsa in the place and she happily brought him an additional cup of the diced tomatoes. Seriously, not even bell peppers in there. It was horrible....and then the wet lettuce turned his tacos to mush just like my sandwich. It was a MUSHY LUNCH. At least the service was super nice. picture 24.

Stopped by with the family driving through PA based on a yelp review. Breakfast food was amazing with huge portions and service was great. Choc chip pancake was cooked perfectly and even managed to achieve fluffiness with pancake the size of platter. Scallion pancake was great and an interesting twist on breakfast with a light pastry (crepe like) with an egg inside and soy dipping sauce. Finally, heouves rancheros with eggs cooked perfect and good flavor, only recommendation as someone else noted is the potatoes could be cooked more evenly. Would absolutely recommend!!!

Go. There. Now. It is the best diner in the area. I found myself agonizing over my breakfast selection, wishing I could have maybe two breakfasts simultaneously. The staff are young energetic, and have customer service values. There are all your favorites, as well as hipster delicacies. Lots of healthy options too, which is unheard of in any restaurant around here, much less a diner. Did I mention that the wait staff are young and cute?

The menu for breakfast is so unique, offering fun specials and a wide variety of daily menu choices. It's not jus the same old boring breakfast options that everyone offers. (They still have those eggs, hash browns, meat, and standard breakfast choices for those of you who don't like to shake things up). Have had two AMAZING experiences recently, with 4 outa the 4 dishes being exceptionally good! Huevos Rancheros, the Monte Cristo, the Florentine Eggs Benedict, and some blueberry, lemon, waffle dish with really great strawberry sauce and homemade wip cream were all really good. The Huevos Rancheros is the best breakfast meal I've ever had and should become a new breakfast staple at any place. The only negative was that the hash browns were cut a little too big. They were fresh, but prefer them chopped a little thinner. Fun hot tea choices, really good coffee, clean and comfortable atmosphere. Nothing to really complain about hear. You'll be more than pleased that you visited Griddle 145 and will definitely end up returning. Oh...the lunch menu looks unique as well but haven't tried anything yet. Griddle 145, the best Breakfast choice in the Allentown area I know of for sure!!

This is a great breakfast spot, and though we didn't eat lunch it looked amazing as well. After contemplating the many options I decided to go with the "Nutella Fella Pancakes". They did not disappoint, huge portions, and they tasted fantastic. If you are looking for something a bit more hearty the huevos rancheros came highly recommended. If great food isn't enough for your dining experience this place also has a great wait staff and a very pleasant atmosphere. The decor is very bright and cheery and the waiters match. We will definitely be coming back here again!

Based on the recommendations from Yelp we tried Griddle 145 yesterday, very good selections, portions were more than enough. I had the special wild mushrooms and goat cheese, with caramelized onions! The coffee was nice and rich also. I will definitely be back for breakfast and lunch. My only pet peeve is the presupposition by the wait staff "Everythings perfect!?!?!" Just me but I find it a bit presumptuous, and annoying.

There's no reason to go to a diner for breakfast when this place is in town. The atmosphere was unexpected: clean and modern. The staff were very friendly. As the morning went on, it got busier but never even close to loud. We all shared our food with the table, because picking one dish was pretty tough. Each plate's presentation was carefully thought out, and everything tasted absolutely delicious. They even offered us complimentary mimosas while we wanted. I wish we could replace our Perkins back home with Griddle 145.

Not your ordinary breakfast place. Modern and clean setting. Vegan and ovo lacto vegetarian options. I had one of the off-menu specials... A fried chicken hash... More like a deconstructed one... A chicken fried chicken breast with country gravy, skin on red potatoes with onions, eggs your way, and toast. My wife had a vegetarian huevos rancheros. Portions were large and all of the food was awesome. Only one menu item missing which prevented a five star review... SCRAPPLE Your in PA! Need the scrapple!

This is a welcome addition to the very limited world of cool breakfast spots in the Lehigh Valley. (It's no surprise that this hip spot comes from the same family that runs Hunan Springs, an equally unique Chinese restaurant in a totally uncharacteristic setting - an old stone horse stable). Set off busy MacArthur Rd (route 145) the tasteful exterior and ample parking lead to a vibrant open concept dining room with fresh colors (mango, lime, espresso), comfortable tables with enough room between them (your not on top of your neighbors). If its busy, you might opt to sit at the bar. While they don't have a liquor license, the complimentary mimosa at Sunday brunch was a really nice touch. I hate boring environments, and the "house music" tempo and volume level definitely kick it up a notch so you don't feel like like your in it he sedentary, after church crowd as you'd be at the countless local diners. Hey, their food is solid, but the blue-hair quotient at the diners is downright: depressing. I'll confirm the last reviewers opinion on services - young, energetic and on their game. Super friendly and efficient. My waiter Matt ... A 12 on a scale on 1-10. These guys bust their ass to be good, but also genuinely friendly. Kudos for the staff screening, their people help make it what it is. Menu eclectic with creative options for the hipsters (tofu scramble, red velvet pancakes, s 'mores pancakes. I had stuffed brioche strawberry French toast, a huge portion as the bread slices were super thick. Portions are large, so if you're more than 1 - consider sharing. Diverse lunch menu: the usual, and some good salads, fish tacos, etc. A little pricey, but the portions and quality justify it. I will be back. Son of owners, Jay Ho and wife, great job guys, and thank you.

Gotta start with this: THE BEST BACON I'VE EVER HAD! Waitress & owner told me they get it from a local place that smokes it with applewood. Went on a Sunday, didn't realize that they change to a brunch menu, however most breakfast items were still available. Everything tasted good, however my three eggs I got (supposed to be over-easy) turned out as one perfect, one half-cooked through and one solid. I was surprised that they have real maple syrup available (for an extra charge). The pancake that I had was a bit on the flat side, could be more fluffy. Breakfast potatoes were good as well. Staff is very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely gotta go back to try the Huevos Rancheros and the Nutella Fella Pancakes.

I visited Griddle 145 on a Friday morning. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and attentive without hovering. Food was a little more pricey than the average diner but was also better quality and atmosphere than most diners. The huevos rancheros was superior to any other that I have had - all of the individual components were separate so I could mix as I desired. My wife had pancake with banana and Nutella which was light and fluffy and flavored very well. Definitely worth trying out!

Griddle 145 is great I've been here like 5 times and will continue to come back! The food has always been great every time as well as the service. The stuffed French toast is my favorite and a must try! Great place for breakfast or brunch!

A ricotta lemon waffle, pulled pork omelet, juevo ranchero were great. Compared to other options in the valley this is a much more diverse offering. Staff is also very pleasant.

Amazing!! This place is small yet the staff are wonderful and the food is amazing! I just had breakfast there and the portions are enough i packed the rest to go. Everything about the place: the ppl, food, atmosphere etc. are perfect. I will definitely be back =)

  • Hunter C.

The place is very cozy and the service was great. We ordered the huevos ranchero and the stuffed brioche French toast. Let me tell you, the portion size was pretty decent. The French toasts are nice and thick but need a lot more soaking time in the custard. Once you get into the center of the toast it tastes dry and just like eating straight up brioche bread. The ranchero needs more flavor on the sauce and definitely could use more guacamole. On the other hand the meat was nice and tender.

This is 2nd time here for breakfast. The selections are good and the items were freshly prepared, innovative, and excellent. There is a fairly broad menu from standard items to Tex Mex, to gourmet. We had pumpkin pancakes that were fluffy, tasty, and huge! All this with excellent service. The restaurant was spotless. The people were a mix of age ranges. Several children were there but did not disturb anyone. Part of this was service kept them occupied with eating. Looking forward to being in that area for lunch.

So happy to have a newer place like this pop up in the area. The lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry preserves and enormous stuffed French toast were to die for. Get the upgrade to real maple syrup for sure. Free mimosas for brunch on Sundays, and despite being a vegetarian, the Chicken and Waffles looked so well prepared and amazing.

Really slow service and place was dead on a Friday afternoon should have known. I got the turkey club and bacon which was mediocre at best..iceberg lettuce giant brand bread for $8???? No boars head turkey... I think subway would be embarrassed. Save your self the money and go to Blue Sky cafe if you like high quality food if not just go to Top Diner on union blvd. I will never go again.

Good, not great. Host stand seemed a little disorganized and operates very slowly. It took forever to get seated. Food and service was good, nothing outstanding. A little pricy for what was essentially glorified diner food.

  • J P.

Service was good. Food...not so much. Ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict.....as the plate was set down I was immediately disappointed since not only did the dish look "dry", but there was barely any hollandaise sauce used. When I cut into the eggs, they were overcooked and dry. The best part of any eggs benedict is the rich and abundant hollandaise mixed with egg yolk. This dish provided neither. It lacked any flavor whatsoever & I mentioned to my husband that if I was blindfolded and being fed, I would have no idea what I was eating. Breakfast potatoes were a mixed bag. The smaller cubes were good, the larger cubes were undercooked and hard. To boot, the place had a musty/wet smell to it this morning. Was so looking forward to trying the place but was very disappointed. Will not be returning any time soon !

We had breakfast -- a brunch, really -- at Griddle and both dishes were outstanding. We had brioche french toast -- huge slices -- smeared with a fruity warm cream cheese -- delicious! We also had a "scramble" which was potato, mushrooms, onions and some veggies fried together. I don't know how they did it, but everything was perfectly cooked, and the potato chunks were not mushy and flavored with a hint of something nice.

    (4)
  • Robert L.

Really 3.5 Stars--We had the chicken and waffles and bananas foster French toast. Both were very good, especially for the price. The coffee was mediocre, however, and the lighting was oddly bright and uncomfortable. This is a very decent breakfast place if you're nearby but nothing extraordinary

While in town I opted against Perkins and my hotel's "free" breakfast. After searching online and yelp, I decided on driving a few extra miles to visit Griddle 145. After entering the place first impression was the decor. Colors were vibrant. The booths and tables looked new. The place was half full. The hostess greeted us at the door. We were prompted seated and greeted by our waitress. We ordered a few different things and decided to share them. We ordered Nutella pancakes, buttermilk pancakes, daddy's omelette, and bananas foster waffles. We ordered a side of bacon and the maple syrup. I also got the black tea which looked like loose tea packed lightly in a tea bag. Pancakes were thick and huge. Sometimes bigger doesn't mean better, but in this case, the pancakes were like no other. Topped w butter and that natural maple syrup, those pancakes were the best I've ever had. The omelette was good. It was stuffed w ham and sausage w cheddar jack cheese. They also served potatoes w the eggs. Those were seasoned with natural herbs that kicked it up a few notches. For me the best tasting item on our table was the applewood bacon. It was so crispy yet melted in my mouth. I asked the waitress abt it and she said it was cut and cooked to order. That's a far stretch from any other breakfast place that precooks and leaves it sitting around. I didn't have much desire to taste the waffles, but I was told they were great. Even my black tea was good! So in summary, I don't think I can ever eat at Ihop or Perkins again. If you're in the area, this is a must visit for brunch. Their food is fresh and you can tell. From beginning to leaving Griddle 145, 5 stars. 'Nuff said.

I will start by mentioning that during Sunday brunch they have complimentary mimosas. So if you are thinking about checking this place out for breakfast, why not go when they are giving you a free drink at the same time? I have been looking forward to trying Griddle 145 for months. I drive by it on a daily basis and have read the reviews. I went in already knowing that I would order the huevos rancheros. They were a solid choice for breakfast with good flavors. Other reviews have noted an inconsistency with the doneness of the eggs, which I would agree with. I had one poached perfectly and another that had the yolk half cooked. However, I don't feel this ruined the dish in any way. I did feel as if it could have used a little more salt though. More salt was a feeling shared by my wife as well. She got a daily special involving hot italian sausage hash. My parents both had a wild mushroom omlet. Their review was "it was good." Outside of the salt issue, the other concern was the speed of the coffee. We waited for at least 10 minutes for coffee. It's a diner. It's breakfast time. They should be pouring your coffee as you walk towards the table. I felt our waiter was friendly; offering his input on the dishes we ordered. Overall, the experience was a positive one. I applaud their motivation to do something a little different with their menu items. Their creative approach to "diner fare" is evident. My local diner, well, sucks. So a place like Griddle 145 is a great alternative (albiet not at all close to my home). I do plan to return for another meal and look forward to trying the Smore's Pancakes. I'm hoping that visit will allow me to add another star.

This restaurant deserves zero stars. It should be called Braindead Café. We stood waiting at least 20 minutes for a table in a room with at least 6 empty tables. The staff walked around in slow motion studiously inefficient. There were 4 tables that needed to be cleared while all staff sauntered around with empty hands. We left before being seated as it was just too stupid to watch any longer. Avoid this restaurant.

Heard about this place from a friend & finally went there yesterday. Atmosphere is great and decor is a pleasant suprise. Our server Matt was very accomodating and served my kids from the lunch menu even though we were there @ 10:30am. Chicken and waffles were very good with a great black pepper white gravy sauce over chicken & a light and airy Belgian waffle on the side. My wife's asparagus, cheese & crabmeat omelette was also very good. Lots of scratch cooking with attention to detail in all our dishes. My son's fresh cut french fries were delicous, seasoned with salt, pepper and a touch of scallions. My only complaint was someone salted the tomato on my daughter's burger too much and we had to remove it to make the sandwich edible. We will definitely be back for another meal....
