We are new to the area and gave Dudt's a try for our son's bday cake. The cake was moist and the buttercream icing was delicious. It was fluffy and light, not that over powering sugar taste you get from other places. We have found our go-to bakery for special occasion and bday cakes!

Dudt's Bakery is my most favourite place for donuts (outside of a Timmy's) in the world! The donuts are a nice old-school heavy dough with a slightly sweet icing. Far less sweet than a Krispy Kreme! I only give thes 4 stars out of 5 because I've never had any of their other pastries nor have I seen the inside of the store. Bring a box of these to the office & they will disappear within minutes... guaranteed!

I think I've been hit with the mediocre bug the last few days.... everything's just been meh! I went to this bakery this morning to pick up some pastries for the team. I had never been here before so I wanted to take everything in before actually placing my order. The shop is ran by a hand full of older ladies. One of them helped get some of my choices for me but since I was taking my time, she seem annoyed. I thought, like most bakeries, you go in and just pick out your treats and they just ring you up. If not, they should consider explaining how they do it there. Anyways, feeling like you are annoying someone early in the morning is not a great way to start your morning. Anyway, a few minutes later, a police officer came in ... one of their friends/regulars and she was all super nice and cheerful. I ordered a handful of mini fruit turnover looking things, some cream pastries and cheese danishes. Everyone likes free treats but no one raved about them. I had half of the cream pastry ... the cream tasted a little waxy - synthetic almost. Not sure....but I didn't care for it. I also had a miniature raspberry turnover (I'm making up the name bc that's what it looked like to me) but that was decent. I'd buy that again.

Ermergerd. No words. I came here the other day with my friend to pick up goodies for my family, and I seriously wanted to eat everything. I ended up getting a large assortment of cookies, apple turnovers, cream puffs, and an almond torte! ...Yeah, I'm pretty much the best daughter ever, hardy har har... ANYWHO, everythang here was mad tasty, but the apple turnovers and almond torte were exceptional, like melt-in-your-mouth exceptional. Trust me when I say ya'll have to experience their desserts first hand. I've read some bad reviews about this place, but I'm not sure why? I lived in NY for a while, and I definitely think Dudt's is just as good (at least in the pastry department) *shrugs* I guess you'll just have to see and judge for yourself! Happy eating!

Typical north hills low quality bakery staffed with rude and offensive staff. unpolite and sharp workers who dont know any better How do locals put up with this? Are their expectations that low???????? Its hte only bakery around, thats why.......... Poor tasting items. Mixes used for every item!!! YUK. Wish i was in DC, PHILLY, CLEVELAND or ATLANTA

Best bakery in Pittsburgh, period. Haven't gotten one bad thing from there (and trust me I have tried a lot of things). Everything is fresh and amazing. A little old fashioned but it all just works. They have a delicious assortment of cookies (of which I would recommend pecan sandies and cinnamon nut horns) and cupcakes but have the best eclairs I have ever had hands down. They also have amazing cakes (which we get for almost any special occasion that requires it). I would also recommend their almond torte. My only complaint would be that their not open long enough!

Dudt's have been making wonderful cakes for over 50 years. Their butter cream icing is reason. It's not sickening sweet like supermarket (Giant Eagle, Shop& Save , etc,) or Costco's ,but just sweet enough..I still like the old fashion round birthday cakes with walnut "dust" on the sides. Yum! They also make an excellent toasted almond torte. It's loaded with almonds. It's my son-in-law's favorite.
