Well, my prior review got tossed for no good reason, anyways, they HAVE updated the restrooms, and this is now -- for what it is--- a pizza sports bar-- a 5* place in Berks Co. If you want to read more, you have to ask Yelp why they buried the prior review. PS , Ditch the photo of the chick. It is useless to depict the restaurant. older review, pasted below ------------------------------- Highlights 1) Pizza by the slice with whatever toppings you want made quick, though some toppings not baked under the cheese. Who cares, it's still tasty and a steal for $4 or so. 2) Crazy selection of crafts in bottle and on draft. When we moved here recently, had no intention of finding Stone, Green Flash, Dogfish Head, and more so available. Sure Troegs and Victory are more local (and excellent too), having many choices of really good breweries is always a good thing. 3) Promotions such as tap takeovers are occasional. 4) Enough TV's to show all NFL games on Sunday (and have a mixture of Comcast and DirecTV subscriptions too...) although they are spread through different rooms. 5) Puts draft selection on taplister and updates daily. Drawbacks 1) The building is a bit old and the restrooms are in serious need of a good reno-- supposedly this is in process. 2) Sometimes understaffed when busy (Eagles games, karaoke, etc) -- similarly, on such times, parking lot may get full and you need to find street parking nearby 3) Can close pretty early on nights when there is little business; a bummer if you're in the mood for a Midnight or later visit on some weekdays. All in all, a must-hit if you're in the area looking for a slice and a beer. I would* give this a 4.5 now, with a potential for the full 5.0 assuming the bathrooms get redone as mentioned. Read less

I came here for lunch to have lunch with my man and his family since the place is local and we hadn't been there before. The place was exceptionally casual, which is fine, I guess, but I don't think anyone should be wearing jeans and sneakers to work. That's not part of why I'm only giving one star, though. The reason for this rating is the pizza;the namesake of the establishment. We ordered a large pesto margarita pizza for the table, and it was very very greasy. Dripping off the front, off the back, pooling in the middle of the pie. Second, it was tasteless. You couldn't taste any basil in that pesto sauce, nor any other flavor. The fresh mozzarella was bland and tasteless, and the tomatoes were bland and tasteless. The crust was okay, but the middle of the pie had no integrity. I was very unimpressed. The appetizers here were good, though, for frozen fried foods (chicken tenders, corn nuggets, wings etc)

Don't let the name of Paradise by the Slice fool you, this place's highlight is not their pizza. It is definitely the beer! From the outside it looks like every other new restaurant in Berks County, and old converted home that is completely redone inside to look like a restaurant. The place was clean and new, but it was very basic in terms of style and decorating. I know this isn't a negative in this area, so no one really seemed to mind. There were plenty of tables inside, and they needed them, as this place was packed. Upon sitting down, I realized how giant the menu was! This place had close to 100 items on their one page menu. It was almost overwhelming to find something to eat. I was told that the pizza isn't the best so don't even bother with it, and after I saw it in person, I was happy I followed that advice. I had the chicken cheese steak sandwich with fries. The sandwich was decent. Exactly what I expected from a bar-type place like this. The fries that came with it were very good though. They were hand cut, hot, and perfectly seasoned. They were definitely the food highlight. The main event of this restaurant though has got to be the beer. They had so many great beers on tap that they need an app to show you what they all are! It is a very ingenious idea, but I would never expect people to download an app just to see the beer selection. Back to the highlights. The selection was so great with all kinds of unusual winter seasonal brews as well as a lot of standards. If you like beer, chances are you will find lots of choices to keep you satisfied here. Overall, Paradise by the Slice was a very good choice for bar food and beer. It is fairly inexpensive and the selection of food and drink is enormous. If you have not tried this newer restaurant yet, you should stop by and have a drink.

Best craft beer bar around. Very reasonable prices. They don't overcharge the beer prices like other bars.

I am a local I live on the same block. While the online ordering process is simple the food is amazing. Food comes out very quick and The beer selection is amazing and the staff are very knowledgable about the beer selections and will help you pick the best for your taste.

It's a pretty solid place, in a town with three different pizza joints within a half mile of each other. This is certainly the crown jewel of those three. I always suggest the two large pizzas and 3 dozen wings...its right around $40 to feed an army. The wings are lacking on size and sauce, which is really one of the only knocks. Beer selection is one of the largest in the area for all beer junkies.

I don't think it's THE BEST pizza and sandwiches, but they are pretty good. I like the ease of ordering online and then having it delivered. Because of that I patronize them frequently! They have a great beer selection!

This place is very good! Their pizza is pretty good. I also like how big their menu is so you can order just about anything. Their stromboli and wings are very good!! Also my husband loves going here because of their great craft beer selection. Great casual atmosphere. Also, we have had delivery 2 times (once in a lot of snow) and both times food came hot and fast. I recommend this place to anyone in the area.

This place has fantastic food, huge craft brew selection, fun atmosphere, and I've always gotten good service. The prices are a little steep for some things but it's always been worth it to me.

The food is very good and the beer selection is excellent. Service is friendly and efficient. We just moved to the area but have been here before visiting relatives in the past. I like their wings and steamed shrimp especially. Beer wise there are so many good choices....especially like the Troegs and the Victory brewing offerings...28 drafts on tap and over 175 different bottles is impressive. This place has made our move to the area a little better, even came here on New Year's eve and had a blast....

Have not had the pizza but the wings were the best we have had in the area, great sauce and great meaty wings. The beer selection is outstanding as well. But we like to sample before purchase craft beer (not to the point of exploitation, but one or two is normal, right?), one bartender was a bit hesitant to indulge, but the second shift was extremely accommodating.

Awful. Just. Plain. Awful. I should've known better when you they don't have the slices on display. Hands down worst pizza I've had in the 10,000+ slices I've probably had in my lifetime.

Delicious and consistent. You can always count on this local favorite. Also a GREAT selection of micro brews that you would not expect from this hole in the wall.

We frequently order takeout pizza on Friday nights and have never been disappointed, either with cheese, sausage or mixed toppings. Also, the pizza is ready when they say it will be, it is still hot as heck and the sauce has flavor/tastes awesome, even when we order at primetime- 6pm and beyond when we see the lot is full with sit-down diners. Also, they really know their beer. When you ask for a pale summer ale, they don't offer you Miller Light. We have eaten in the dining room once as well and appreciated the friendly and efficient service for our party of six. They have a full menu and the flavors and textures in their American fare (sandwiches, chicken fingers, fries, burger) that we ordered were well above average.
