Definitely my favorite spot for a dip of ice cream after dinner on the main line. Fantastic choice of flavors. In fact last evening we ate out with friends in Bryn Mawr and drove to Wayne afterwards to get a sugar cone. The Wayne Bar is also the best spot in the area for a donut and a coffee. Love this spot. Don't miss it. It's in the Suburban building next to the Great American Pub on north Wayne ave- lower level.

Coffee was great - they carry green street coffee and some really fun locally made ice creams. It's a good alternative to gryphon - which I find to be reallllly strong coffee sometimes. Staff was super friendly! I hope they can get a more visible sign so people can find it. They are tucked underneath little nest.

This a nice little space is the basement of a building. The donuts and ice cream are not made in house but they are very high quality stuff. The coffee beans were Green Street when I was there, which is really high quality stuff too. The problem with the coffee is nobody there seems to know how to operate the espresso machine. I've been here twice and both lattes I had were way off. One had virtually no coffee at all and another was full of coffee grounds. If you want coffee in Wayne go to Gryphon, but if you're looking for a good donut or ice cream cone this is a nice option.

The Black Raspberry is hands down the best icecream..... And I have had ice-cream and gelati all over the world including Italy and this ice-cream was better. What a great find.... and I love the decor and the feel of the place.... it is like a vintage ice-cream shop. You will not be disappointed!

I love this little place. Green Street Coffee Roasters I've not found in any other shop besides my own french press, and and they served me my first affogado (life altering) with Graeters Ice Cream for which I am so grateful. I like the vibe... local, friendly, neighborhood-y kind of place with stellar goodies. Good coffee and treats is in the same category for me as good wine. I have a feeling I'll upgrade to 5 stars as they put miles behind them. I've been back a several times with my standout order as an Affogado with coffee chip ice cream. Wow. Good work, people.

Cute little coffee shop with wonderful freshly roasted coffees. Their ice cream is truly delicious. There are even vegan and gluten free ice creams. Try the Peppermint during the winter season-- it's like eating crushed candy canes swirled in rich creamy vanilla ice cream. The mint chip is awesome too. This place is fairly well hidden on North Wayne Avenue-- you have to go down some steep stairs to get to it but it is definitely worth the effort. Wayne really needed an independent coffee shop and needed a nice cream shop even more. We finally have both in the Wayne Bar. Go early and often!

Great place to grab a coffee and a donut, this local hub is extremely well run, clean, and just the ticket when you need a place to meet a friend in Wayne. The manager, Gabby, will bring you up to speed with the different donuts, coffee, cookies, and muffins, all sourced from the best producers in the area. My new go-to spot in the area.

Here's my updated review. Every time I'm swinging through this part of town, it just so happens WB is closed. If I can get in there when they're open - yay! - but majority of the time, it's dark. The hours thing is BIZARRE. But now, here's my real issue. Maybe I'm a tad biased being a successful business owner and operator myself. I know I'm probably thinking wayyy too much into this but, here goes: We as yelpers, write reviews to support, promote and help (key word here) other businesses. In my first review, I never said I did not like this place. Just simply and honestly put, gave my opinions of an outsider. As in, "Hey peeps, this is what we're experiencing from the consumer side of things." When you're a business owner it is imperative to LISTEN to what the feedback is and get on the offensive side - NOT the defense. When our business gets less than positive feedback, we work within to correct the problem and always ALWAYS keep the customer involved so they know they've been heard. NOW, by no means was I looking for a response here. That's not what yelp is for. The last thing I want to do or have time for is a conversation about the origins of your donuts. However, let this be a learning experience for yourselves, Wayne Bar. Most of your "real" reviews on here state the same things: weird hours, too much staff etc. So take it as it is. Learn from it. Making fake yelp accounts and defending the observations in fake reviews isn't going to solve your problems. And PS - Yelp's fancy algorithm is spot on with removing your back-to-back, consecutive day, 5-star reviews out of the ranking average and out of sight. And PPS, us yelpers see it as a desperate and unattractive attempt of making yourselves look good. It's fairly obvious that after the my review was posted, all of the sudden FIVE brand new yelp accounts, without any friends, photos or other reviews (still to this day) all had perfect reviews, one even attacking my observations. Adios, Wayne Bar.

Super cute ice cream place in a a great location! Great coffee and love that they serve vegan flavors from Little Baby's. Super friendly staff who actually remember us (ok, we haven't been here THAT many times). Did I mention VEGAN ice cream?!?! 'Nough said.

Super cute and clean space. A little tucked out of that way, though. The only way I spotted it was by the chalk board ad on the sidewalk. Very friendly and informative counter staff, who seem genuinely excited about their products and know how to pull an espresso. They handed over a perfect latte! Nice selection of boutique products including Little Baby'sice cream, Reanimator beans for espresso and coffee drinks and Dia Dolce cupcakes. I'll be back!

I really like this place. The donuts and ice cream are top notch and they are committed to offering local products. It is also a plus that they offer whole bean coffee for us coffee geeks who are in to that kind of thing. The interior is nicely designed, as is their website. It is also a plus that one of their donut providers is from Chester, so they are doing their part help a struggling neighborhood. For this place to be 5 stars they would be open Sundays (at least in the morning - this is a no brainer, it is a donut and coffeeshop, right?), they would offer a chocolate frosted donut, and the staff would be a little less overpowering Update: now open sundays. Staff is much more subtle. 5 stars

Great flavors. Friendly staff. Clean and bright atmosphere. Fair prices. Only shortcomings are that it's a little small (although not uncommonly small for the area) and difficult to find if you don't know what you're looking for. There is little more than a small sign with the name and an arrow to tell you where the place is. It is easy to miss. However, it is worth looking for. They have a small-but-satisfactory variety of items, including (but not limited to) ice cream, bakery items, and granolas. The ice cream flavors include standard favorites (e.g., chocolate, vanilla, cookie dough) and more exotic flavors (e.g., cinnamon chai, balsamic banana, birch beer vanilla), which can be enjoyed as scoops or milkshakes. (I HIGHLY recommend getting a milkshake blending cinnamon chai and balsamic banana.) The prices are not dirt cheap, but they are fair. I highly recommend this place.

Heard a lot about WB and it really is the best ice-cream. Very cool place on N. Wayne Ave. Looking forward to trying their coffee.

first off, this place does local business with the best of them; that fact alone necessitates your presence and ridicules your absence. second, it's down a short set of stairs from street level which immediately provides a patron with the feeling that they're quite fortunate to be familiar with its existence. third, their local ice cream selection including vegan coconut-based options is filled with flavours of such intrigue and fulfillment that they beg the question "how?" with no answer in sight. with all of this, you're still left absolutely ignorant of the fact that stepping into the establishment is a relative transportation to a much younger america. it's more than a bit comfortable. however, this is absolutely more a dairy bar than a café, as the flavour of the espresso is more bitter and childish than a pure café's might be. yet don't, by any means, avoid the place. do the community a favor, and order a donut and a milkshake.

Initially walked past this place. It is located on the bottom level of 134 N. Wayne. Yummy donuts. Good coffee. Need to come back and try the ice cream. Nice staff. Cool vintage environment!

Kudos for opening a local coffee shop in the area- we need more of these! The place was really hard to find when I went looking for it after reading about the place on foobooz, but once you figure out it's downstairs you're good. The place is super clean and well thought out with regards to simple, clean interior decorating. When I came in the first time last week I had a wonderful cappuccino that didn't need sugar and tasted almost like it had chocolate in it (giving Joe coffee in the city a run for its money), but this week it was really bitter and the milk wasn't very foamy, more flat. The hubs really liked his coffee and his old fashioned donut, so I guess our second venture was a win for him. I'll be back each weekend if the cappuccinos become more consistent- I want to give my money to a place like this rather than an ordinary Starbucks or DD, and I thought the coffee didn't taste humid or musty like another local coffee shop nearby.

Although they just opened, the Wayne Bar is ADORABLE! The decor is all pastel and the coffee bags as well as cups look very old-timey. I tried a milkshake and it was fantastic. I will definitely be returning!

Had a very nice cup of coffee today that I felt compelled to write this review. I would give it five stars if the location was in a place that was easy to find. It took a while for me to find my way here, hence the loss of a star. But that shouldn't deter anyone from giving this place a try. They have the best green street coffee I have ever tried, and believe me I've had plenty a try. I also liked the atmosphere here. They are very friendly and love to strike up a conversation. A jump in and out kind of person might feel at odds but I guess that's just me. They cater well and that receives high points in my book.

Such a fun spot! Ice cream is excellent - so is the peach bourbon oatmeal ice cream sandwich. Wasn't a huge fan of the iced latte but I will give it another try soon. I will be back! :)

Curious little parlor definitely worth checking out. They are in the "basement" of Vecchia pizza building, next door to Great American Pub, and directly across the street from Arde Osteria. They serve obscure ice cream brands with unique flavors, donuts from Lancaster, PA, and coffee beverages. The ice cream flavors change. Hidden/off the beaten path type of place that isn't easy to spot off the street. The parlor is a little narrow so it's tough to walk through when busy. It seems like the type of place one could escape to do work at except since they have 3-4 tables it may be inconsiderate to stay at one for too long. Service is friendly. It's a small biz and the owner and her teenage son were at the bar when I was there.

This place needs to open back up... I guess they have not been able to get the electricity up and running since the mishap that happened on the block. I need my Graeter's raspberry chip!!! It's getting hot outside and the other places in the neighborhood just don't have it. Besides serving amazing high quality ice cream, the service is always friendly and the place has a nice vibe for hanging out. We miss you wayne bar!

Great ice cream! Never noticed the place before Stopped in after eating in down town Wayne. We walked in 7 minutes before they closed not realizing it. It looked like then just finished cleaning everything up. We apologized the the two young kids working there were very pleasant and happy to serve us. The place is neat we went for ice cream and apparently they buy ice cream from multiple local ice cream shops that make their own ice cream. So the Wayne bar does not make it but it is all home made as fairly local. (One was from Ohio) Tried three different flavors and they were all great. This will be a regular stop for us to end the night in Wayne. Apparently they have coffee and other stuff. Will have to stop in during the day!
