I love Capri. The owner is so kind and personable and the employees are so patient with the customers (as the adults and kids alike can try as many flavors as they want to before choosing). Their prices are ridiculously cheap and their serving sizes are always ginormous. The best flavors by far as the fruit based ones like mango, cherry Bordeaux and black raspberry. (although my coffee addicted friends and family love the mocha chip). The gelatis are always stellar with their phenomenal custardand any of the cream ices satisfy any sweet tooth without all the calories. This place is the best.

This was my first experience with water ice. In fact, I'd never even heard of water ice. First off, the service was excellent. I had no idea what I wanted, and the staff was very helpful and encouraged me to try multiple flavors. We had just come from Teresa's Next Door, so I wasn't super hungry. The kids size is like $2, and you get a lot. That's a really good value, IMO. I had the mango and the orange pineapple, both good. There's tons of flavors, so you can go here again and again. Also, there's a little area to sit outside and enjoy a spring or summer evening.

I have a bias... I work here and have worked here for over 7 years... But I LOVE this place. The customers of Capri are wonderful and they always come back because our water ice is made with care and consideration.. you can taste the difference. You'll never eat Rita's again!

The first time I was ever at Capri was maybe 5 years ago at the end of the summer and one of the flavors up on the board was PB&J. I was used to Rita's and Rosatti's where the flavor selections are fairly simple. I was so intrigued that I bought a regular size cup. It was like one of Mom's PB&J sandwiches from when you were a kid with no crust and cut into triangles (not squares, triangles taste better!), all crushed into an icy frozen treat on a hot summer day. It was glorious. It was all I could think about. I went back a few more times before they closed down for the season and never thought to try anything else. The winter was brutal; no PB&J water ice. When I would tell people of my lost love they would look at me like I was crazy. PB&J water ice? That sounds gross. "Shut your mouth!" I'd shout in my head. Just because mango is the wildest flavor you've been offered in a while, don't speak ill of my PB&J when it's something you couldn't possibly understand. Finally spring came, and with it a sense of anticipation and hope. I arrived at the terrible parking lot at Capri, because Joe's won't let people park in their lot even though they're closed at night, such as one would show up at the airport to pick up a spouse that had been teaching English to school children in the Amazon for the last 8 months. I pushed through the door like a Walmart shopper on Black Friday, looked at the board and... no PB&J on the board. A wave of distress swept through me, starting at my eyes and down to my toes like pins and needles as I scoured the board again. This had to be a mistake, an omission, a clerical error. Yeah, that's it, they must've just run out of room. I asked one of the friendly staff if they happened to leave out my beloved from the board. They did not, I would have to...choose. another. flavor. Begrudgingly, I chose the Cherry Bordeaux. Huge chunks of cherries in the water ice. I remember the first time I had Rita's and they had lemon shavings or little bits of cherries in the ice, and I thought it was amazing. I don't even know if they do that anymore and we are talking WHOLE cherries. It was so good. While these were outstanding ways to get my water ice fix, the high was only temporary. For the entire summer I went back and checked the board for PB&J, and was let down. I was forced to taste other great flavors like their passion fruit, 7 Seas Punch, Cherry Cheesecake, or chocolate chocolate chip (That's not a typo, chocolate water ice with chocolate chips.) Finally I saw the owner and I wanted to know what gives. I asked, "Hey, what gives?" He said it's because the Main Line moms complain that their little special snowflake child is allergic to peanuts and can't come back after he makes it once, even though he completely sanitizes the machine every night, but they don't care, they are determined to ruin the summer for everyone else. Ok, so maybe he didn't say that exactly, but that's all that I heard. I let him know that whatever money he lost on kids that didn't come back, I'd make up for it in the amount of PB&J water ice I would consume. Finally at end of the summer, it appeared on the board. I did a double take as I couldn't believe my eyes. It was like seeing the Ark of the Covenant, except your face doesn't melt. Quite the opposite, as it only means a glorious frozen treat. Needless to say, I purchased 2 of the quart containers. It didn't nearly get me through the winter. I haven't seen it in the summers since. I still go in just to check, like searching for a lost summer love that went out with the tide in the fall. You still go back every July and scan the beach for a familiar face, much like I scan the white board that shows the flavors for the day. There are still many pretty faces, just never the one you're looking for. Cash only.

Although the water ice here is very good, the owner definitely makes the place even better! My husband and I pulled into the lot at 930, not sure if they would be open or not but willing to give it a shot. The store owner was mopping the floors in the dimly lit water ice shop, and we knew immediately they were closed. Just as we were about to head home, the owner spotted us and waved us in. He couldn't have been friendlier! He was more than happy to oblige our water ice craving! As we were leaving two more cars pulled up (one with over 5 people) and he welcomed them in too! I tried the mango and my hubs got the birthday cake. Both were good with a creamy rather than icy texture. Almost reminded me of a polish water ice on the boardwalk. We've been back several times and always enjoy our selections. Great water ice and even greater owner. Support a local business and get your next dessert here!

good stuff! The soft serve was delicious and the water ice was good, creamier and less runny than some of the other places. I can't really figure out if that's a good or a bad thing, because honestly it was hot- and because it wasn't as "watery" as some of the others it didn't taste quite as refreshing- BUT, that could've been because I had a gelati with ice cream, too? Not quite sure, but I know it had great flavor. Even the husband enjoyed it and he's not a regular fan of Rita's or any other water ice places. You know, now that I think of it, this is more of an Italian Ice. Not a Water Ice- an Italian Ice. Like the kind I grew up in Florida with. So, if you take the word Water out of it's title and call it what it is- then it was perfect. If you're going to compare it to a water ice, you may just be disappointed. I had birthday cake flavor on the bottom, layered with vanilla in between and watermelon ice on top. it was super good. But I was actually afraid, that the watermelon would leak into the birthday cake. Now that I know it's not a runny kind of ice, I probably wouldn't stress about choosing flavors that meshed. The soft serve in the middle protects them from mingling. I'll go back, for sure. Even though parking was a little annoying, it was worth it. Cash only and they have a punch card- 10 punches, 1 free.

Best water ice on the main line. All smooth, no chunks, which is how I like it. They rotate certain flavored so you have to be on top of your game if you dig those fancy flaves!

We had water ice from this place brought to our workplace last week. I have to say that the Bourdeaux Cherry was so good, that it prompted me to write this even though I haven't set foot in here yet. I mean, that water ice has whole cherries in it. It's definitely a special treat. Close to addicting! The mango was also intense. Really good flavor to it. I'm still a Pops and Rosati's guy at heart, and I never thought I'd praise a Main Line water ice place (call it a South Philly and Delco territorial thing), but I have to say... well played, Capri. Well played!

Best water ice ever! Favorite flavors include red raspberry, passion fruit, lemon peel, cookies and cream, and birthday cake. Lot is small and hard to get out of, I typically park at the shopping center across the street.

Really good ice cream and water ice. Very friendly staff. A wide variety of selections.

Base damn water ice period. Don't bother with Rita's. Better flavors and better prices.

Wonderful water ice, closer to a nice shaved ice, but made with real sugar instead if corn syrup. The key lime is sublime.

The cherry water ice is quite good. Coconut, somewhat of a different story. Regardless of flavor, selections are very affordable. Nice, cute place. Very limited parking. I would recommend walking or parking somewhere nearby, if this is a possibility.

Capri is an unassuming little place tucked between two auto tag shops on a busy stretch of Lancaster Avenue, where $1.75 buys you a heaping cup of the most delicious water ice on the Main Line! Their board of flavors includes a respectable range of typical flavors (from lemon and cherry to chocolate and mango) as well as a menagerie of strange beasts like "kung pao lemon" and "south seas punch." Don't be scared, they're all delicious! Capri's water ice has a smooth mouthfeel, but stays cold and unmelted for a long time, unlike the Rita's chain's tepid offerings. This mom-and-pop water ice and soft-serve place is a serious contender. It's only open in the summer, so don't let your opportunity to eat at Capri's melt away!

Rating solely on taste, their water ice is the best that I've tried. Definitely better than Rita's. It has a "creamy" quality to it. They take cash only and their small little lot only fits about 4 cars that is shared with a shop next to them. 5 stars for the water ice, 2 stars for the parking

My friend was explaining to me what water ice was, not a snow cone, not italian ice... just amazing. My friends took me to Capri and they had a decent selection of flavors. The regular size is way too big, i think the kids size is just right to hit the craving. Chocolate was surprisingly tasty for an water ice flavor. Passion fruit was interesting, especially if you're into fruity flavors. The one thing I didn't like was the dirty looks my friends and I got from the server girls. umm.. is it because I don't look like "Main Line"? Minus a star for service

Capri is wonderful. The only problem I have is that they are open seasonally, closed from September to March. Please note that they do NOT serve frozen yogurt. You should be happy to note that they do serve the best frozen custard this side of the beach (shore to those from PA). I highly recommend a Gelati, it will spoil you for all other places claiming to serve Italian Ice or Frozen Custard. Capri rocks.
