Impressed that they have been in business 23 years. Extensive menu. Fair prices. Food was good. Service was nice. But hot sauce wasn't very hot!!!

Great service this time, an improvement over the last time we were there. But, unfortunately, the food was seriously lacking. They've changed the "cheese" sauce to something that's obviously just had cheese waved over it at sometime in the past. My wife had the shrimp enchiladas, and the shrimp both shrunk and are no longer properly grilled in the recipe. I was also looking forward to the fried ice cream, but discovered that it is now PRE-fried ice cream; the coating was hard and cold, not like proper fried ice cream. This was once one of our favorite places to eat, and we recommended it to many people. Now we have to go and tell everyone that it's not the experience we hoped it would be. Very sad. So few decent restaurants in Schuylkill County, and one more is in its death throes...

This place has to be the farthest thing from Mexican food. I had the Santa Fe chicken, wife had a chicken wrap, son had popcorn chicken. Mine was advertised as a charbroiled chicken breast topped with salsa, bacon, and cheese. I looked like a bad toupee on a boiled chicken breast. Wife's wrap was blasé. Sons popcorn chicken was processed chicken balls. Lacking the Mexican flavor all around. Maybe they were having a bad night, but I hate paying for someone's bad night !!!!! Head to Shenandoah and try La Casa de Familia if you want Mexican. Way cheaper and you will not leave hungry !!!!! and Mexican people are cooking it

Sisters is a good restaurant for the area. It's decent Mexican food with a good bar. They're best known for their wings, but I love the fajitas and fried ice cream.

Stopped in for drinks on the way through. Large choice of Margaritas, although they need to invest in a high end blender to better blend to avoid ice chunks. The food was American tex me, not surprising for the area. It's good for a drink.

I like this place. The fajitas are amazing and it is a huge plate at a reasonable price. They also have a wide range of choices on the menu which is great for the picky people in my family. The staff is always friendly and we never had a long wait. The only thing I don't like is they don't have free refills on soda, when you have a large group, that can get pretty pricey.

We have now tried Sisters three times. And we will NOT be returning. All 3 times were on Friday nites. First visit place was dead, we waited over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there, only 1 other couple in restaurant at time. Then another 10-15 to take our order, over 30 mins for our food to come, when arrived barely even warm and was less than mediocre. Never came back to check on us, we had to hunt down server for our check. Decided to go back several months later after told it got better. Second trip was actually good. Food was better but still not impressed. Third and final visit was worse than our first. We sat there for 20 mins before acknowledged, only reason we stayed was because the kids were hungry and didn't want to leave. Finally got service, ordered but food was AWFUL!!! All in all by far worst dining experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I can officially say we will NOT be returning. Our guess on how they've been in business this long is there isn't really many food choices in the area that offer texmex food. Strongly advise NOT eating here. Awful food, service and atmosphere!!

This place is what it is, a 6 pack shop with cheapfood located next to a coal breaker and a derelict strip mall alongside a strip mined mountain in the coal region of PA. Hint: You might want to order 'bottled' water. I must say they have a decent beer selection for the area. I just wish the people working there knew more about the selection and didn't blanketly refer to anything other than Yuengling as 'weird beers'. This used to be a great place for wings, make sure you order them hot or they will taste like someone put ketchup on them. Wed. this is the place for cheap wings, but is also very busy.

I've been going to Sisiter's for about 20 years. Good food at a decent price. Watch the drink prices, you can get charged very high if your not looking at your bill. I've been over charged a few times.

Like Michael M says, it is what it is. It tastes like what people who never ate good Tex-Mex THINK it should taste like. The atmosphere is nice though, and they do have a large selection of six packs to pick up. Just don't come here looking for flavorful food.

Yucky, Yuckier, Yuckiest. Sister's always manages to fall somewhere within the spectrum of yuckiness in the pseudo -mexican food category.

I have not been to Sister's in about 10 year's but during high school this was the place for Wings on a Wednesday Night, my order 5 Kitchen Sink wings, and 20 Bad Boys. The perfect wing night.

Crowded on Wednesday wing nights. Food is really good, but not what I'd classify as authentic Mexican. Yummy fresh salsa. If you have kids, go early and avoid Wednesday nights (unless you like hanging out at what has the atmosphere of a frat party).

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
