This is our new favorite family restaurant! The service is fast and very friendly-they made us feel very welcome, my son kept saying we need to eat here more often! My children shared a pizza, which is all homemade and fresh, my husband got the chicken Parmesan sandwich which he said was one of the best he's had in a long time. I had the turkey Panini which also was amazing. For dessert we shared a pineapple pie and a chocolate cake with almond icing and ice cream, all very tasty. You should definitely try this place out!

Short review Great food, Great prices, Great service. This place is a land mark we ate dinner in the dining room. They have a bar side also. The service was awesome from the start with drinks served promptly. The prices are what you would normal expect when going out. Dinners were around 15 - 20 . they include pick three soup, salad, vegetable of the day, fries, or baked potato. This place opened in 1736 there's history here. I drove by here so many times wanting to eat here. Well I did tonight and i was impressed. Doesn't seen like there to busy during the week. Please give this historic restaurant a shot. *****All the other reviews are for the bar side which is totally separate and has a different menu and feel.*****

Enjoy anything from wings, sandwiches, steamed edamame to wonderful weekly and weekend specials. Generous pours of wine, whiskey, and beer for a good price. Wonderful wait staff, friendly and attentive, ask for (Michelle, Rysa or Melissa)

Great food. Awesome wings. This place could use an update on the decor and a good cleaning though.

We had to find a place on the way home at 7 O'clock on a Friday. I'd heard this was a good place to hang out. Not a bad choice. The menu was no surprise, but the dining room was as empty as the bar was packed. My wife and I enjoyed very well prepared food from comparatively inexpensive ingredients -- it is no gourmet destination. But the pasta was perfectly done, the accommodations to my diet honored with no loss of flavor and the service was small-town-friendly, if a tad over-familiar. Not a wine list place, they served a very generous pour of a nice house wine for half the price we pay in the city. We will go there again. Four stars for a great local hang out. You just can't give five stars to a place that has canned olives and artichokes in the recipe no matter how well it turns out.

Had to add a review because sometimes the older reviews are not reflective of the current state of a place. Not so here. Found this place from yelp and would've passed right by the small, local hangout without it. I was looking for a casual bite and a beer after hike in Green Lane park. This was PERFECT. Local bar. Extensive pub menu with great variety. The Dining room was empty at 2 pm, to be expected, but I wanted the pub atmosphere anyway. Very friendly lady tending bar and tables. I had soup of day - stuffed pepper soup- yummy! and a grilled ham and Swiss on rye with slaw. Again, perfect for a casual late lunch. Low key. Don't let exterior sway you away.

Like going home for supper. Great food in a friendly atmosphere. Several of us go to dinner each Friday and always look forward to a visit to the Sumneytown Hotel. Great wait staff.

why have i forgotten about this place for so long. ok. lemme get this straight for yall. this place is AMAZING. there is both a bar side and a more formal dining room side to this place. I prefer the bar side, but thats just me. this is a family owned and operated business and you can immediately tel. jack, sybelle, and johnny are pleasant and honest people. the food is amazing, never had a single thing from here be bad. my favorites have to include old bay wings, crab cakes, and their homemade soups [french onion, pizza, and many other amazing ones] now, this is a bar, and i must say, its fully stocked with almost anything you can imagine from beer to wines to shots of god knows what. oh and p.s. this is awesome. look at the marble doorstep into the bar. its all worn down and warped from people stepping in and out over the years. if THAT many people have gone in and out here you MUST know its amazing.
