Awesome takeout place, with a few booths if you'd like to eat in. Nothing unusual, just an amply rounded menu of classics, like platters and pitas (gyros, schwarmas, souvlaki, etc.), filled out with killer appetizers. The tabouli was excellent. So was the baba ghanouj. The owner gave me a "tour" while he was grilling up the chicken and lamb in our pitas ... and the moussaka and patsitsio looked great as well. He gave me a sample of one of the desserts (some sort of phyllo-based nut roll with a chocolate drizzle on top) - yep, real good. Reasonably priced. Excellent food. In the 15 minutes I talked to him and watched him cook, it was apparent the owner /chef (didn't get his name) has a passion for what he's doing. He even handled the impatiently obnoxious woman in line behind me with a deft grace. What's not to love here?? I wish I lived a few hours closer, I'd be here at least once a week.

The falafel is ok, it's really ALL about the fattoush. Best best salad I've had at any mediterranean place EVER.. Last time I was there they had a good sample platter choice, too. I'd go for that if you've never had this kind of cuisine..

Food was fantastic. Owner is from Brooklyn and maintains the only middle eastern grocery store for an hour in any direction. The person claiming that the sandwiches are served on a tortilla is not familiar with Lebanese bread cloth, common to authentic middle eastern restaurants from here to Quebec. It is encouraging to find a middle eastern restaurant in the Poconos that holds to ingedient quality and works hard to maintain authenticity, even to the point of driving to New York to pick up products not as readily available as the "Greek" pocketless pita. I will be back, a lot. Really impressed and found it as good as Amir's in Montreal or the Atlantic Avenue restaurants in Brooklyn.

Great authentic Lebanese food and friendly owner. Uses quality ingredients and everything we've ordered here has been great--and my Lebanese husband is a tough critic. We love this place.

My wife and I stopped here twice while we were in town. The fattoush was really great and the owner is the nicest guy in town. Well I didn't meet everyone in town, but I bet it is close to the truth. The gyro was ok, not great, but ok. I will keep coming back if I am in town here!

Think of what one $ means to you on Yelp. A great deal? A quick bite? Fast and easy? How about great service and small town charm with big world taste? Well, that's what this 4.5 star 1-$ listing on Yelp got us today. That and more. We got there just in time before the big rush, which in this 10 seat cafe means a lot. We ordered a falafel platter (with grape leave wraps and eggplant salad), a gyro with spanakopita on the side and a veggie wrap. Each one - for three very different palates - was fantastic. Powerful flavors, expertly cooked meat and falafel, warm, soft pita. Salivating about it, and I actually ate it 7 hours ago. The owner/manager/grand pooba at the counter was genuine, kind and helpful. (He even - after I raved about it - told me the recipe for his eggplant salad!) We got a full meal for 3 (with drinks) for $27. This is a gem, and on our new route from Philly to upstate NY, so we'll be stopping here again. Thanks Cedars!

There are only three tables which can seat 4, 4 and 2. The food is real good and the prices are very reasonable. Not a fancy looking place; however, great bang for the buck! Everything we had tasted great: chicken shish kabob, humus and falafels.

One of the best places in Stroudsbug to eat. Simon and his wife are wonderful people and they put love into their food. My go to's are the shawarma pita, greek salad, and the spanakopita. When they have it the Moussaka is fantastic, best I have had. It is a great place for takeout, but they do have a few tables for dining in.

Oh so good!! Authentic. Fresh. Homemade. Combo platter portions are big so you may want to share. Then again, it's so delicious that you just might want to eat it all yourself.

Everything is delicious. From the gyro to the shawarma. Love the spinach roll, salad and mixed grill. Kids enjoy the kebobs. Great service. Seating is limited.

Finally made it to this place after trying on a Sunday only to find out they weren't open. Glad I listened to some other yelp reviews, it's a great place to get some food. Folks that own the shop are very friendly. Had the chicken gyro which had a great taste to it. The falafel appetizer was ok, didn't have a real strong taste to it though like most do. Absolutely loved their baklava wasn't too sweet, prepared just right. Like others have said, there isn't much sitting room inside, but we were able to grab one of their tables. 2 tables to seat 4 and I think 3 bar stool like seats.

I only write reviews when I'm very satisfied with a certain place. This place deserves 6 out of 5 stars. The food is very delicious and very authentic. The owner and his staff are very kind and welcoming. The prices are great! This place will definitely make you come back. (Try the falafel )

I really like Cedars because it's something different than all the other corporate chain restaurants that are in the area (that I am so sick of) and it is real homemade cooked food. Everything looked and smelled amazing. I got the combo plate chk shish kabobs with rice and my sides were grape leaves and baba Gannouj and My boyfriend had the lamb gyro. So So Good! And the portion sizes we're just right! There wasn't a huge amount of food, just enough to make you full and satisfied. I loved the baba Gannouj and the pita bread, it tasted amazing. You could just tell they take pride in what they serve to their customers. Great place and I highly suggest everyone try!

Gyros served on tortillas? Do they know what pita bread is. I'm from New York and have had practically every style if gyro. First of all gyro is not served with lettuce. OK many places do it. But when I'm handed a gyro with red onions and lettuce and a tzatziki sauce that is sub par and over salted gyro meat, I have to call it out. On top of being served on a thin tortilla like flat bread instead of a slightly thick non pocket pita. If the gyros are not good I'm not likely to try anything else. I know there is more to Mediterranean food than a gyro but it seems like it I'd catering to the Poconos rather than being authentic or New York

I'm Lebanese and this place was the closest to my mom's cooking as it gets. We were in Pocono Pines and took a trip to Stroudsburg to see what was going on - to our surprise we saw Cedars and couldn't believe there was a Lebanese restaurant tucked in this small town. I ordered the veggie combo - hummus, beet salad, and grape leaves. All delicious. My mom and sister got the falafel which they loved. The tabbouli was so flavorful and delicious. They also give you tons of pita bread. Only two tables to eat in, but definitely worth-while to either sit or take-out. Definitely authentic - the owner and his wife make everything! Give it a try, you won't regret it!

The falafel pita was exactly what I expected. Great find as I passed through Stroudsburg on a business trip. Reasonably priced and authentic. I recommend it.

If I could eat here everyday I would. I love this place. It has the best all around value while being as healthy as possible. When ever I eat here I am completely satisfied. Simon and his wife are a great team and I am always pleased with their joyfulness and cuisine.

Their gyros are good, but not great. It's really not workable for eat-in... this is a takeout place with a couple of tables. That's it. We weren't prepared for this and spent our wait time looking for a park to eat at. Given the quality and ambiance, their food was definitely overpriced.

Not only is the food amazing but the service is top notch!! Highly recommend the kofta and lamb platter!

Quick take out Gyros and salads, with authentic taste. Very reasonable prices. Perfect for a quick lunch. There are a few tables and chairs inside, but can get crowded at lunchtime.

Amazing food with rich flavors. I love coming here just to speak with the workers just because they are so nice and enjoyable. Simon never seems to fall short of perfection on those gyros either. If I had an option, Cedars or any other place in the Poconos, he wins.

This is one of the best eateries in the Pocono mountains. Everything is fresh and delicious, service is excellent, prices are fair. The place is small, so if you are in a large group, you might want to take the food to go.

This is such a little known, yet excellent place. It's mostly for take-out but the food is laways fresh and spiced just right. Everything is cooked made to order right in front of you. There is also a large collection of sides and salads that are also just as tasty. The owner is also just the nicest guy, he is the one who is always behind the counter, I'm guessing a one man operation, but if you're unsure of what things are he's always more than happy to give you samples until you decide what you'd like.

What a find! That is, is you can find this little storefront on 8th Street. Only two tables, but all the food is great, from gyros to salads to hummus to falafel. Husband and wife prepare, cook, serve. Everything fresh. Closed SUnday and Monday.

Bad service. We asked the women at the counter for some ideas and she said she wouldn't eat anything on the menu. Turns out she was right, ordered a gyro (lamb) and it must have been on of the worst gyro's I've ever had.

Another little hole in the wall I was unaware of until someone told me about it. This is really a take out place with just two little table and a "standing" type counter. The food is reasonably priced and you can tell the owner loves what he is doing. I've only had the Gyro sandwich but it was very tasty, it also had a little spin on it compared to those I have had in the past at other places. It wasn't a thick pita but more like a "wrap" that tasted like a pita... interesting... He also seems to add more vegetable to the sandwich which gives it a new flavor as well. I will say that the thin pita, which took a few bites to get used to, made the sandwich much easier and "less messy" to eat. I also bought a couple of the desserts to bring home to the family and they enjoyed those. Overall a great experience and I will be back to try other items.

I love Mediterranean food, particularly Lebanese cuisine. This place has a really good variety and they make everything fresh. Definitely try they Gyros, Kibee, and Greek Salad. Only two tables to eat in, but the food is great for take out anytime.

With one of the friendliest restaurant owners in town and a decent menu, the cramped confines of Cedars makes up for it's lack of ambience with quality. Good quality and filling gyros, delicious falafels, and great platters. If you're going at lunch time, I'd recommend take out because of how crowded it is, but if you are there before or after the lunch rush, you'll be fine.

Best gyro i have ever had. I dont know if it was just a good day, but everything about it was perfect - caramelized crispy meat with some soft bits, well spiced, fresh onions, warm tasty pita.... just, perfect. Be sure to ask for the white garlic sauce side - the aioli? The owner himself is very friendly, which is always a plus in my book. The lady at the counter does have a strange affect however.... almost like she kinda really doesn't want to be there... I wouldn't want my gyro/sandwich to be made by her.... sorry lady... I took one star away for ambience, because it really is a small takeout with some (interesting, Mediterranean) cans/drinks neatly arranged near the seating area. But really, I dont give a damn about the ambience when the food is so good.

Souvlaki with lamb was excellent & a great price. Pita is more of a thin slightly crisp flat bread the way it's served but it taste good. Falafel wasn't the best but I recently ate a lot of falafel in Israel so I'm spoiled a bit. It was ok. However the lamb was incredible so sometimes it's about buying what they are good at.

Since I can't give this place zero stars, I guess it gets a one. It hasn't been long enough for me to know if I'm going to get the shits or not, but since I didn't eat much, it shouldn't be too bad. After reading previous reviews, we decides to give it a chance which was a big mistake. We feel sorry for everyone who has given this place more stars than they deserve. The falafel sandwich that was supposed to be on "pita" bread was one of the worst things to have ever been in my mouth. Not only was it not on pita bread as they advertised, it was on some kind of tortilla or wrap. That, my friends, is not considered pita. And the falafel tasted like burnt cinnamon. A real falafel sandwich should have cucumbers and hummus, but this place replaced it with lettuce and some white tasteless sauce that resembled a low-calorie caesar dressing. GROSS! My boyfriend said that he should have took a shit on their chair and tell them that we brought our own. If you must absolutely try this place because it is one of the rare falafel places in the Poconos, be warned and bring a sandwich or a bag of your own shit. P.S. It took literally 25 minutes for two falafel pitas. When they were finally done, the owner behind the counter asked if we were "ready for our pitas."
