We love this place! BYOB, and good choices for beef, seafood, chicken, and vegetarian. Family friendly, too. We have never had a bad meal here, and we also love to get it for takeout. So glad you are here in Somerset!

Five stars for being the only sushi in Somerset. Japanese cuisine has long been missing in the area. The sushi is good, miso is good, hibachi is good, appetizers are good. Move over main moon, rey azteca, and gourmet buffet.

I ordered two sushi rolls. One arrived after 30 minutes, and the other after 50 minutes. Not impressed with the service, the wait for the food, or the quality. There were no customers in the restaurant, so no reason for the wait. My husband ordered the filet mignon hibachi, and it was so-so, not great. The meat tasted like it had been processed and frozen. The yum yum sauce tasted bottled, no creaminess to the texture, more like a honey mustard sauce. I thought the prices were too high for the quality of the food. I predict they will be closed within a year.

My daughter and I were so excited checking daily to see when they would open. My daughter ordered the chicken and vegetables with Udon (as they were out of the Soba noodles). I ordered the shrimp and scallop with vegetables and sushi roll. My meal included a salad or soup. Service was okay, not great. my daughters vegetables were terribly over-cooked. My dinner included 4 shrimp and 2 scallops. Not what I expected for the price. I had to ask twice for my salad which finally came, the same time as the bill. Not your typical Japanese place as they don't cook in front of you and you could see half of the kitchen staff just standing around.

I should preface this by saying I lived for three years in Japan, and since then, I just can't get into the American version of the foods I used to love, so take this review with a grain of salt. (Two stars is, "meh, I've had better," and in my case, this is definitely true.) I ordered two entrees to try, the vegetable hibachi and the vegetable yakisoba. The veggies in both are the same except the veg hibachi comes with rice. Hibachi is just not very authentic to start with, but I am vegetarian, and my ordering options were a little limited. You never really see hibachi in Japan except at tourist trap type locations. The soba noodles were really inauthentic... Kind of a lightweight spaghetti noodle and way too much sesame oil taste for legit yakisoba. Also, the veggies weren't terribly Japanese. When I think yakisoba, I think cabbage. Not a bit to be found in this dish. Please don't get me wrong... If you aren't looking for an authentic experience, the food still tastes pretty good! Service was good too, and if anything server bordered on overly attentive, no complaints there. I did have some of the green tea (matcha) ice cream, and that was very good, almost exactly like I remember except just a touch sweeter. I would stop in again just to satisfy my matcha addiction via the ice cream. This definitely beats out Main Moon and the Chinese buffet as far as taste of Asian food in town. It's also a little more pricey, but I don't mind paying more for something I enjoy more.
