We went to Kings for breakfast after having a bad experience with the continental breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express nearby, and couldn't have had a better experience. We had a great waitress (I want to say her name was Cathy but I could be remembering wrong) who was very helpful and quick. We got to sit right down and order. They have a great breakfast menu, and everyone in my party enjoyed what they got thoroughly. If you want a good breakfast place with a lot of options, give it a shot.

Order a salad, they're HUGE! And they have French Fries inside. How come no one else has thought of this? Fantastic find. Yelp delivers yet again!

For a diner its great! Service was great. Typical diner food. If you have kids, its GREAT for them. They have a WONDERFUL kids menu. They even give the kids a brownie called a frownie.

Fast service, really good diner-style food. Get the cheese sauce with the fries, seriously. Portions are not super huge so you should have enough room for desert.

The food was great. The service was fast and friendly. Kids menu was great. All in all a fantastic experience!

If you want a good, early-morning breakfast, it is good. The 5 stars are for a waitress named Dana, a good, old-fashioned gal who has been a waitress for a good, long time, and it shows in her efficiency and memory. She remembers what we like, even if we haven't been there for months. If you go, ask for Dana.

I love this place!!!!! ( but only before noon....) Great service, especially from Dana and Charlene. These 2 ladies are definitely your "go-to" girls when you want fast and efficient service. I have to agree with Cindy P. on this one, Dana does know her stuff, and Charlene is just as awesome as Dana with efficiency and fast service. As for the food, I recommend the triple crown breakfast, it's cheap ( $3.99 m-f) and yummy, you can't go wrong with this choice. I also recommend signing up for the "royal rewards" card if you plan on eating there at least once a month. Every month you get a free item selected by the suits at kings. I just have One gripe about the place, it's a bit dated in the decor department, but who cares???? the food is cheap and the service is great ( before noon, that is) I will not go there in the evening, the service is hit or miss and the wait staff is sometimes rude or maybe too distracted with other things going on in the restaurant to refill your coffee cup. If you're going to hit up this place, do it before noon and ask for either Dana or Charlene.

The staff here make you feel welcome and are very accommodating. We were driving through and found them on Yelp (yay), great find. We got an assortment of breakfast food thinking portions would be typical and were surprised when they came out huge! They also have yummy ice cream selections too!

The food was great. I got a turkey club and my girlfriend got the K boy burger, both were great. The manager found out it was our first time and brought us out some cheesy potatoes for free. The service was plain amazing.

One of the best! A must stop! We said this was our first time here and they gave us a free platter of pretzel rolls. Also the food is much bigger than the picture, worth the money. Finally the service was great our waitress was so nice and humorous. One of the best!!

Kings is one of the better places in town to eat. It is family friendly and the menu reflects that. The food is very close to what you would consider "home cooking" , and the atmosphere is friendly. Kings is really known for their excellent icecream and desserts. No complaints about this place.

The place is no where near a 4.5 restaurant .Ordered the Chesapeake cod was the special of day. It was far from special. The broccoli was from frozen and nothing was very fresh that I ordered.

I love everything about this restaurant. It's nice and friendly. The royal reward club give you awesome coupons. The food is awesome and the staff are nice. I went there once for lunch. I got an appetizer, soup, grilled cheese, and sundae with a drink for less than $3. That was all with coupons. Service is awesome. The staff is very attentive and willing to serve.

We stop here once a year when we're in Somerset. They do breakfast all day. Happened to get in around 9:30 pm and they were still open. Ordered the special Oktoberfest potato pancake eggs Benedict. The potato pancakes were more like hashbrowns in a thick crabcake-like shape but good none the less. Good service too. Last time we were here, they even gave us a to-go cup for coffee.

We stopped here on a whim & ended up being an absolute beauty of a place. The waitress "Dana" was lovely & since we were waiting for our RV to get fixed, were told we were more than welcome to stay around. Back to the actual food. Breakfast was delicious, had the eggs Benedict & the sauce was damn good. Totally recommend them for a huge & delicious meal.

Not good. I am constantly surprised by the mediocrity of established places. I ordered the meatloaf- homemade is what it said- I beg to differ. It came out luke warm- and had this nasty packaged gravy all over it. They had no stir fry veggies left, no baked potatoes, and I was left with broccoli. Okay- but this was more broccoli mush than broccoli. Service was good- I did enjoy my waitress- she did try to help with the veggie situation- but it was out of her control. Over all- very disappointed- and I will not come back nor can I recommend. A 4 star rating on here surprises me- maybe I need to try something different?

This place is awesome...they treated us first timers so well with an on the house app--pretzel rolls---YUM. We were so stuffed and ready to hit the road. Maybe swing by on the way back.

We decided to stop here due to the fine reviews but were very disappointed. We arrived about 8:30 in the evening. The place was not at all crowded and there seemed to be plenty of servers on duty. Despite this we had to wait for a long time before we were seated. No one seemed to care that we were waiting as they scurried around cleaning tables and chatting. We chose breakfast items and again waited about 15 min for our food. I'm not sure why since again, they were not at all busy. The food arrived cold. We didn't bother sending it back as at that point were were tired and just wanted to get out of there. We will not be back.

A few times a year my family from Ohio and I meet in Somerset and this weekend we ate here. The service was terrific, the manager ask if it was our first time and we all replied yes so he gave us soup to try, what an outstanding show of customer service. The food came quickly and was hot, portion size was perfect and the prices were great too! We definitely will be returning on our next trip.

The food was delicious. All five of us enjoyed our lunch - kids too. Only gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the service was a little slow. Thanks yelp.

Excellent place for breakfast, that's about all I ever eat there. Prices aren't bad either.

9/6/2013 I was filling my car with gas when I looked up and saw this restaurant across the street. Being near lunchtime while traveling, we took the chance and stopped in for a meal. This is a large restaurant, family-style, nearly diner-like with its booths and eating counters. Everything looked clean and organized. We ordered a lunch special, the fish sandwich, and a Reuben. Both were good and the fish portion was large - not one of those 4-inch squares of breaded fish. The service was fine, not the most friendliest, but very acceptable, a little slow. We came in at the end of the lunch rush which may have left us some worn out and tired waitresses. The waitress became friendly when she presented the bill. The hostess/cashier was friendly coming and going.

We had a group of twelve (first cousins and their families) meet at Kings today for lunch and time of fellowship. Service was very good. Everyone seemed to think that the food was good and in the proper amounts. My wife had the grilled chicken salad with Vidalia Onion dressing. She thought that it was very good. I had the steak tips with noodles which I thought was excellent. The steak strips were tender and the noodles were very moist in the beef broth. We had two delicious pretzel rolls to accompany our dinners. I think that we found a nice place to hold our annual gathering. They do have a semi private room in the back.

Service was kind of slow and inattentive, but the food was good. My kids both had hamburgers and gave them a solid thumbs up. I had the hot beef sandwich, which was good - tender beef, and the gravy wasn't too salty.

Great food, especially the Breakfast special for $3.99! The hot chocolate is warm and toasty and the blueberry pancake syrup is rich and tasty! Waited on by Char - she is excellent, recommend sitting in her section b/c ur dine in experience will never be better!

Unfortunately, we did not have the same positive impression as others previously reported. My wife and I, along with our two granddaughters (ages 7 & 9), ate there for dinner at about 6pm on 3 July 2012. The facility is dated from the outside, and the inside is very dated. Think 1960's. Service was very slow. Food, when if finally came was warm at best, and it was not very tasty. My pot roast did not come close to comparing with that of Cracker Barrel (too bad one was not located nearby). The mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy, the cole slaw was average at best. The girls wouldn't eat the apple sauce once they tried it. I tried it, and I did not blame them. Hope others have a better experience.
