I had a wonderful time here this weekend! The house is absolutely amazing, a must see and completely reasonable rates. The breakfast, well I'm still thinking about it and desiring more deliciousness, even though I am now hundreds of miles away. A scrumptious potato and cheese casserole, eggs as you like, a slice of heirloom tomato with fresh basil, muffins, and good coffee served on fine china. The house was built at the end of the 1700's, is enormous, and stunning with dark wood, a grand staircase, jaw dropping crystal chandeliers, a grand piano and an amazing array of period antiques. It is a very comfortable experience and immediately feel as if you are part of the extended family. My favorite part of the home was the "white porch", A large side screened-in summer porch decked-out all in white wicker, pastels, and porch swing big enough for your whole family. If you find yourself in the Shippensburg, Chambersburg or Harrisburg area, I highly recommend the Mc Lean house. If a gorgeous old mansion with a babbling brook and storybook atmosphere is your cup of tea, this place is the soul soothing, get-away you are looking for.
