I have been living away from the Scranton area for a while but my father had told me a delicious new fried chicken place opened up next to McDonald's and I should try it when I got home. I had the honor of trying CFC last week. It was amazing. The place is for takeout only. It has quite an extensive menu featuring all types of friend chicken and fish as well as desserts, kebab, and gyros. The chicken is greasy but amazingly delicious. It has a little bit of a kick to it. We ordered the 8 piece with fries for a family of 4 and we were all very satisfied. The french fries were very tasty and very crispy. We also noticed they had Jamaican Beef patties like you find in New York. We had to have one to try...they were amazing and exactly like those you find in New York. I went home and did some research and found the chain originates in New York and is also known as Kennedy Fried Chicken. Wow. I see Kennedy chicken places every time I am in New york, and always say how I want to try it. I didn't have to leave Scranton to do so! It is nice to get such things in our little city. I would not recommend eating this chicken often...I would say once a month is enough and it will keep it exciting =) Cash only btw.

I saw someone's review said only chicken is good. Not like that, you can also try others. Otherwise chicken is the best. Crispy and fresh. But I did not like the fries there. Macdonat's fries is my favourite.

Big fan of Crown Fried Chicken. Make no mistake, it is a hole in the wall, and a kind of greasy one at that...but in a good way. You have to take out, because they don't have a seat in there but the one single chair behind the counter. DON'T order anything but the chicken or the fries...well, the cole slaw is ok I guess, but seriously avoid the rest of the sides. The chicken is good, ready pretty quickly, and CHEAP. They offer hot sauce with the chicken, TAKE IT! The combo of the fried chicken and their hot sauce is really good. (Sometimes I use the hot sauce, and then dip it in ranch dressing...so bad for you, but so good.) This place is also open until 3 in the damn morning, they are working their butts off and are ready for people rolling out of the bars looking for some food. Love it. Give their chicken a try...just the chicken. :)

I ordered the fried chicken, thinking it would be as good as KFC or Popeye's. Nope. The chicken had an odd red/orange hue to it, probably food coloring. The crust was way to hard it can no longer be defined as crispy. And worst of all, it has no flavor except SAAAALLLLT. I really wanted to liek this seeing as I live close and have fried chicken cravings often, but right now the only way to satisfy that craving is still KFC.
