Of all the chain steakhouses, Texas Roadhouse is my favorite. This particular restaurant is hit or miss on the food prep. One time I ate here, I think the food sat out a little too long and the next day, both my friend and I were sick. Most people would think that this would stop a person from going back. Instead we called the restaurant to speak to a manager. He was very nice and understanding, and gave us a certificate for some amount (it's been a while I forget how much now!). I've been back several times, because the staff here is so nice and friendly, and generally the food is good. The drinks are good too (they just can't make a pina coloda to save their lives though). Cheese fries, 12 oz strip w/ blue cheese are sure fire bets! This place is also great with groups if you call ahead and let them know, they even can accommodate those extra one or two stragglers that show up late.

With all the steak places in the area, this ones a gem. The prices are great and the service is friendly and attentive. We recommend the ribs. And If you get a steak ask for crumble blue chesse on top ! I had the NY strip; delicious. Medium well is less pink; anything less is pretty pink to bloody. Be sure to tell them it's your first visit and they'll give you a free steak sauce bottle and the royal treatment. Servers are young and energetic. So go treat yourself !

They have very tasty warm rolls with cinnamon butter. My favorite dish is the grilled chicken salad. Excellent salad dressings, especially the ranch. I also love the honey mustard, which is great with a salad or to dip steak fries or chicken critters in. They have great sides. Love the mashed potatoes. Good pulled pork and BBQ sauce. It is a sweet BBQ sauce, which I like. I do not care for their steaks generally. The quality cut of beef is just not good enough for the price. They tend to overcook the burgers. I order medium and it is well done. Service is a hit or a miss, depending on the server you get. It is pretty much run by teenagers. Noise level is very loud on the weekend. I would get take out more, but it can be a pain to pick it up if it is crowded. You have to squeeze through the people waiting for a table and find someone to help you. There usually is 4-5 girls just standing there doing nothing but chatting with each other and taking people's names, and they tell you that the take out girl will be right back. Then this poor girl comes out looking frazzled and tired. She then attempts to help several people that are trying to pick up food and answer the phone for more take out orders. The other 4-5 girls still doing nothing but occasionally taking a name, looking at a seating chart and mostly just casually chatting. I'm not sure why only 1 person is assigned to do all the take out orders while 4-5 are assigned to look at the seating chart, but it happens every time!

Great place for a family dinner. Very fun atmosphere and the ribs are amazing. "Yummy food" according to my daughter.

Once again, a good meal at a Texas Roadhouse. Ate at one in Knoxville TN last month and it was good. Royersford PA was really good too- great prices, food is more than plentiful, the service is efficient and the beef is cooked perfectly.

Good steaks, sides, salads, rolls.... and peanuts. Could live without their signature "Yee-Haaaah" moments: hootin' and clappin' and singin' randomly. Guys, they dont do this nonsense down in Houston or Dallas, trust me. Still, all & all, a lightyear better than their cross-street rival idiots at Outback!!

  • Steven B.

Way better than outback! * Hostess brings warm rolls and cinnamon butter when she seats you. * Peanuts to shell waiting on your table * Pick your steak out of a chilled deli case * Steaks so good you don't need to hide the flavor with Outback seasoning. * Better tasting sides. A great place to go for a mid-priced steak!

Went here for the first time on a Sunday night a few weeks ago based on a friend's recommendation. This place was great! Good food for a great price, and the service was great too! I don't know if I would consider this place a steakhouse in the traditional sense, but if you're looking for good comfort food (and some to take home), this is the place to go. Save room for the rolls, you will eat at least two!

Awesome! Food was great. The rolls they give you are amazing, along with the cinnamon butter. I ordered a steak, it was cooked perfectly. I went with a group, and everyone else was pleased with their food as well. As we ate, the manager walked around and checked on everybody. Our server was very friendly and attentive until the later half of our dinner. After, she went MIA and we had to ask a different server to go grab our check because we were ready to leave. Booths are a little tight if you go with a group. Overall, pretty good place.

Love the rolls here. I got a filet and it was delicious. Good kids menu as well! The whole peanut is kinda of cool too. Get there in the earlier side because after we got there it got crowded. We were told 20-30 minutes and were seated in 25. Solid restaurant experience!

My supper was good. My waiter was EXCELLENT! My napkin was dirty. Did someone forget to wash it before using it again? My corn contained way too much pepper. And know that this restaurant tends to have a higher level of noise than other restaurants.

I ran a half marathon and about an hour later I was famished. We decided on Texas Roadhouse. They have the best rolls. The cinnamon butter is so good. They also have peanuts at the table so you can nibble on them as your waiting. Good thing because I was starving. The Eagles game was on and we sat at a table in the bar area. My daughter was with us and I'm usually not a big fan of that, but there were a lot of families sitting there and no rowdy fans sitting at bar. I ordered the ribs with veggies and a salad. I know i just ran 13 miles, but I ate a couple rolls, so I went a little healthier. My daughter ordered steak bites and my husband ordered a burger. The service was great even though the bar area was crowded. She was super friendly and checked on us, refilled my beer as soon as it was empty. Great place to stop in for ribs, burgers, etc. Family friendly and prices are reasonable.

Had dinner there last night. Ordered the onion blossom which was delicious, however that was the only part of the meal that was decent. My steak was tough & overcooked and the fried catfish was all breading! The chili was lukewarm...easy to say not a meal we enjoyed and we won't be going back

I certainly prefer a locally owned establishment when it comes to dining but I must say this place has always done right by me. A perfect place to take my family of four which includes two young boys. The prices are reasonable, the food good and the mention of ice cold beer sometimes reels me in. But I also like the service here. Always friendly, attentive and fast which is a plus when you are with young children. I usually go a Ft Worth Ribeye (medium) with a loaded baked potato and house salad. Do You know what else I have to mention? Their very own Roadhouse Gold Steak Sauce is also very good! Keep up the good work TRH!

I have always preferred Texas Roadhouse over outback! The cinnamon rolls are always hot and fresh and it's always exciting to pick your own steak.

Came here on a Thursday evening with a party of 5. It was a 5 minute wait. Staff was very polite. They kept on emphasising everything was legendary on the menu; legenday steak, legendary magarita, legendary water...jk about the water. Man i order the country fried steak. It was humungous! Everything you expect in a trxas roadhouse, it was delicious! Serving times werent too bad but they did get busier. They do have specials before 6p.

Food was awesome had the 24 oz sirloin was perfect Love the bread and butter and the peanuts Our server was great kept up with refills and was a joy to have him serve us will definitely go back

Always a great meal and fresh, cold beer. Steak salad is my favorite. Service is great. Been to a lot of other Roadhouses, and this one's by far the best. When I lived in Rofo I came here at least once a month.

The atmosphere is quite energetic and noisy, but the service was not bad. Appetizers were about $5 each, and although the fried pickles were a little too salty, the fried onions were well-seasoned and flavorful. After eating those and my side salad, I actually had to bring home my sweet potato and half my 6 oz. sirloin. I always order steaks medium-rare, and Texas Roadhouse is one of the few places that didn't overcook the steak. Next time, I'll try to save room for dessert. Be sure not to spoil your appetite with the unlimited rolls with cinnamon butter and peanuts!

Our families favorite place to eat in the area. They know how to cook steak without smothering it with seasoning like most chain restaurants. Every side is good. Very friendly staff. Everything is priced very reasonable. Free peanuts at the table and while you wait for a table. Use the call ahead seating to knock off a bit of wait time.

  • Charles W.

I went for my first visit to a Texas Roadhouse. Call ahead seating is a must on the weekends. The rolls and cinnamon butter is better than the bread at Outbacks. The prices are very good and there is a large selection of sides. Both of our steaks were cooked to the right degree and the hostess was very good at keeping the glasses filled.

Texas Roadhouse is the type of place where you get decent food, good service and your money's worth. However, it's not the type of place where you rave about your meal and dream about going back ASAP. Every one I've been to looks exactly the same---very cookie cutter. Plus every one I've been to is always crowded and very noisy. The dining experience starts like this --- you open the door and then worm your way to the host/hostess station. Once there (more often than not) you are told that there is a wait for a table. You are given a piece of paper with a number on it, sent to the waiting area where you watch an electronic display to see when your number comes up. Most of the time, the waiting area is jam packed and overflowing. Your number appears and once again, you have to worm your way up to the host/hostess station. While s/he gathers up menus, you have to deal with people saying "excuse me" as they, too, have to worm their way someplace---either to the waiting area, the host/hostess station or outside. Usually service is fairly prompt. I'll give them this---they have a great soft drink selection---sweetened iced tea (one of my favorites) and recently, a cherry limeade (very tasty!). The rest of the menu items are good---no complaints at all there. Once again, predictable no matter where the location. So...in conclusion...it's not the place to go for gourmet steaks nor is it the place to go for a quiet meal. As long as you know what to expect---and don't mind it all---you'll do just fine.

While I'm not a red meat fan, Hubs loves the stuff, so we occasionally end up at a steakhouse. Texas Roadhouse is supposed to be a country western restaurant experience with Texas sized portions and flavor. The waiters and waitress perform country line dances when certain songs play, which leaves me wondering- "is my food is getting cold while you're all knocking boots?" The food isn't bad, but it's inconsistent. The servers are inattentive and I can basically guarantee that you'll have to send something back (overcooked, undercooked, wrong salad dressing...) Their cheese fries are delicious, though, and worth the extra work out time you'll need to burn off the calories. I did see a roach crawling across the blinds once and when I screamed bloody murder, the manager came over pretty quickly. SInce that happened, I have aptly named the place the Texas Roachhouse.

Best steak for your cake! Texas Roadhouse is the premier chain steakhouse in the area...at least when you exclude chains like Smith and Wollensky, Morton's, etc etc. The High End places have better food\service, but you will pay at least 40$ for your steak...At Texas Roadhouse you can get a good steak for under 20 bucks. I consider it a notch above Outback and Longhorn for food quality. The service was good, altho some reviewers mentioned the servers didn't pickup the appetizer dishes when they served the main meal and that was indeed the case...rather than taking our salad bowls from our crowded table, they just crammed the steaks onto the table...not a real big deal to me, but we found it curious. I also enjoyed the dinner rolls (little club rolls, slightly steamed) with very sweet and delicious cinnamon butter...dessert didn't look like anything special, but I loved my sirloin (even picked it out of the fridge) and the chili was quite tasty as well. It can get crowded during peak hours, but they do have a full bar with a couple TVs and plenty of peanuts to keep you busy! Also plenty of parking...All in all, the place i pick when i want a decent and affordable steak. Note: Lunch is only served Saturday and Sunday

Generally, good food, good service, friendly staff. The only down fall is that most of the tables are booths, with very few tables with regular chairs. So, in order for me to get a table with regular chairs, I have to go at slightly off times, like around 4:30-4:45 pm to get there before dinner rush.

Whenever I'm hard up for calories and a chain restaurant experience, I travel many distances to TX Roadhouse! I have an undying fondness for their margaritas, rolls, and steaks! Yum. You can't really go wrong in this place. I've never had poor service or a bad plate here.

A lot of people seem to like this place, but it really reminds me of a lonestar with better steaks. The service is okay, and they have tvs for sports which is always a plus to me. Also the rolls are friggin great!

I almost gave this place 4 stars. However my only minor complaint is the service. It tends to be a little slow on some evenings. When I sit at the bar the service is great. It's fast and friendly. When I'm sitting at the table it sometimes feels like I am bothering the servers for coming in. I'll stick to sitting at the bar. The bartender during the week is awesome. She makes sure you never have an empty glass and makes sure all of your needs are met. Other than that she is pretty cute and friendly. For the food I have had a few of their steaks and they have been average at best. They are always cooked to your liking but sometimes they taste a little bland. My favorite items have to be the onion blossom and their loaded mashed potatoes.

I've eaten at Texas Roadhouses before (in Lancaster, PA) and fell in love with the chain for a decently priced, filling and delicious meal. First off the food quality is great. I love their bread and cinnamon butter, that stuff is addicting and also diabetes in a basket. I am a lover of ribs and for a mass produced chain you can't go wrong with their full rack. Their chili is also decent and available as a side to your ribs! PERFECT! But all the goodness stops there. The reason why this place garnered a 2 star barely mediocre rating is due to its sub par 1 star service. The front end of the house and especially the host/hostesses positions are staffed by high school kids. So service wise come to expect the enthusiasm that a high school kid can offer. None. We called ahead for a seating at 7:45 and on the phone and the estimation skills of these high school kids said we'd have a table at 8:30. Yeah that didn't happen, while 8:30 rolled by I began to ponder how a business can function and make a profit with 6, yes six, (a job that requires a max of 2-3 people requires double that here) front end host/hostesses poking, pinching, giggling and flirting at each other and then give patrons attitude when they inquired about the wait. We were seated at 8:55 and only because they offered to try and squeeze us into a 6 seater table for our party of seven. It was a tight squeeze to say the least. At 6'3", I'm not built for sqeezing. But what got me heated was that there were only six seats at the table so the rest of my party sat down, and I was left standing. I was waiting thinking the hostess was smart enough to realize that there was a job to be done, but after 5 minutes go the picture that that was probably not going to happen. Unfortunately there were no stacks of chairs around so I just stood as other waiters and waitresses darted by me just to see when I'd get my chair. AND OF ALL PEOPLE ANOTHER PATRON OFFERED UP A CHAIR TO ME! And why? they were a party of 2 seated at a table for 4. And after taking the time to scan you could see many parties of 2 seated at much bigger tables, which goes to show the epic fail of a job the front end was doing. Our actual waitress was only a teeny bit better. The staff at large does a really good job LOOKING busy, but I have to wonder what they're actually busy doing. Refills here are pretty good, but they give you a new cup every time, and clearing plates is another aversion of the staff alongside working because it's very easy for the dishes to pile up and you pray your server eventually realizes so he or she can clear a few. Perhaps they can pull some of those way to excessive host/hostesses away from the front end and turn them into bus boys/girls so that plates get cleared? Overall, the food here is pretty good but the poor management would encourage you to get your texas roadhouse fix elsewhere to avoid frustration and souring a decent meal. I would try the one in Lancaster? Where I've had better customer service experiences.

Never again will I go here. When I first started to eat here, it wasn't bad. Actually it was pretty good. Enjoyed everything from the rolls and cinnamon butter to the dessert, and the service was fast and friendly to boot. Then something happened. It wasn't the food, but the service. I noticed that the attention to customer needs weren't what they used to be a while back, but I always wrote that off as the staff being young and kids being kids. This particular night I had asked the female server for a special request (a particular request that isn't a pain to do, and has been done numerous times), and was told it couldn't be done. I asked if someone in the kitchen could, and explained that it had always been done with no issue, and she went to the back to check (for the record, my request involves just mixing two condiments together that aren't available on the menu, but are found in every kitchen in America, so it's not like I was asking for the moon here). I should also mention that it took about 20 minutes for someone to return to the table. When someone DID come, it was the manager, also explaining that it couldn't be done. She didn't want to hear about how this request was always done before, nor offered an apology. We thought, okay, no big deal, we'll get over it, and continued eating. Our waitress went into hiding at this point, and took another 20 minutes to see if we needed anything (we needed refills bad, among other things). She brought the refills, never picked up our empty plates or glasses, and took a drink order from me. Another 20 minutes passes. She's avoiding our table like the plague, as is the manager who also sees the dishes and glasses piling up. I finally stop her as she is running by us (we're seated at a table in the bar area) and ask where my drink is. "Oh yeah, I forgot, MISS" in this arrogant voice, and makes the drink. I should also mention I asked for a particular alcohol to be omitted from this drink since it makes me very sick. She didn't have the decency to bring the drink to our table, but instead had the bartender bring it out. I asked if it was made as I requested, without the one alcohol, and when he turned around and asked her, she replied, "sure". Sadly, it wasn't the case (as I should've known) as I got sick later that evening. After another 25 minutes of trying to get the manager's or anyone's attention, the bartender finally comes to us asking if we needed anything. I said "just the check", and when we got it we left the exact amount on the table and walked out. Maybe this was an off night. Maybe everyone was having a bad night. It doesn't excuse what the waitress did, nor how the manager handled this and blatantly ignored us. I passed the info to my other friends who have now been going to their Montgomeryville location, as none of us will be going here again.

I went here on Sunday 1/25 with my wife prior to heading back to new york. It was a great stop and a place I've heard mixed reviews about. One friend said it was great, better then outback and another said it was terrible. I found it somewhere in between and on par with outback. We walked in and on the left is a barrel of peanuts. Feel free to eat some and throw them on the floor! Next they seat you but on the way to be seated they show you steaks in the case and you can pick yours for dinner! I was happy i love steak. Next we sit down and order a sirloin and a rib eye, both with salads and sweet potatoes loaded. We received our steaks and they were both done to our liking! It was perfect. The potatoes had marshmallows and caramel sauce on it and they were also amazing. Another plus to add on the meal where the freshly backed bread with the cinnamon sugar. Amazing rolls :) Overall the service was outstanding, I didn't have to ask for or wait for anything. It was fast as soon as we were finished our salads dinner was here. Steaks were very good, mine (the rib eye) was particularly flavorful and well done. On the way out the manager asked us how everything was and I said I had a great time and it was our first time here. They gave us a present! They gave me a bottle of their sauce to take home! It was a great treat. I'll definitely go back here.

how long will the wait be? ... 20 min ... no 30 min ... in the final it was actually almost 50 min and they caught us just as we were about to walk away.... you have to wonder about a restaurant that has a drop box for beepers outside so that people who just give up don't have to go back in. When I inquired why it was taking so long I was blamed because we requested a table instead of a booth. WHY wasn't this taken into account when we were handed the buzzer?? How can a restaurant with approximately six young women hostessing be so incompetent? ... FINALLY SEATED... the noise is deafening. I have been to this restaurant before and I understand their desire to create a fun atmosphere, but this was ridiculous. We were having to ask everyone to repeat themselves, and lip read just to get our order in. Perhaps ONE surface that soaks up sound? conversation was impossible and we had to start texting one another when we wanted to be understood. For several years I worked in a German restaurant where it was not entirely uncommon for people to throw up into empty beer pitchers... compared to Texas Roadhouse that was a zen garden!!!! ... our waiter, Jake, was good, and the steaks were OK.

my fiance and i go there twice a month for dinner. I order rare sirloin and they seem to have difficulty with rare. the last time i sent it back the manager told me that when i order tell them to sear it one minute on each side. went back last time and it was perfect. my fiance usually got the catfish (they took it off the menu) so now he is not a happy camper. he got the ribs the last time and they were burn to a crisp on the top. i love this place and we have pretty good luck with the wait staff. the strawberry marg's are PERFECT!! the fried pickles are pretty awesome too. we will be back

I had seen a Food Network piece on Texas Roadhouse, and decided I wanted to check it out. The closest one was the Royersford restaurant 20 some miles away, but I told the wife that's where I wanted my birthday lunch. 1st off, the Roadhouse is not open for lunch during the week, but the weekends it opens at 12, and we got there a little after noon. While there was no wait, that early, they have an ample waiting area, complete with TV, and a barrel of salted-in-the-shell peanuts. On the way to our seat, the hostess showed us a refrigerated case where you can pick your own steak, if you desired. At the tables, there are buckets of the salted peanuts, and they immediately brought hot rolls with a cinnamon butter. While waiting for the entrees the manager came over and explained some of the restaurant's workings: steaks are hand cut, all side dishes are made from scratch daily... etc. I had the Sirloin Tips with rice, which was very good. My other side dish was a cup of their chili which was excellent. (Not real spicy, but thick, and meaty.) We ended up with enough leftovers for, at least 1 additional meal. Nothing on the menu was over $20, with the exception of the 22oz Rib-eye, so it's not an expensive restaurant. The waitress waited to make sure the steaks were done to our liking, and came back to check on us for soda refills, pretty often. If you like steaks, and a kind of country atmosphere, I'd recommend the Roadhouse.

bomb. the rolls they serve with the cinnamon butter are like crack for fat people. the servers were super attentive and friendly, food was quick out of the kitchen. sweet potato was so enjoyable, I talked about it for the entire weekend. pretty cool they serve peanuts while you wait, just toss the shells where ever, probably not too cool if you have a peanut allergy. totally loved this place, no doubt I will be back, there is a location in the Bay Area.

Much better steak than Outback across the street. No wonder why this place has lines out the door on the weekends!

A chain restaurant has to be beyond fantastic to garner more than three stars. And really, this is just a typical chain restaurant. I've actually never eaten inside the restaurant, just gotten takeout, because living in a smallish suburban town, it's always crowded, and I don't really feel like waiting an hour for food that is mediocre at best. Now, with that said, I will say that they do have pretty fantastic ribs. I ate A LOT of ribs during my first pregnancy, and I don't remember any of them coming close to the ones at Roadhouse. This place is good for families, if you go early enough. You can bring your loud toddler and not have to worry about getting dirty looks.
