Loved this place when I stopped in a couple of months ago!!! The jerk chicken was pretty darn spicy (as it should be) and delicious. The combo came with two sides so I picked the (incredibly delicious!) Island Slaw, and since I wasn't sure which kind of rice I wanted, one of the girls was nice enough to give me half coconut rice and half rice and beans. The meal also came with some nice plantains. Overall it was just wonderful. And the two ladies that run the place were super nice and helpful and had the biggest smiles around! Can't beat that :)

Delicious Jamaican jerk chicken and curry goat! The stir fry vegetables, however, were overdone. This is one of the places in the Farmers' Market next to Mom's in the Rosemont shopping center. It is a nice selection of restaurants, including Margaret Kuo's. After your jerk chicken, checkout Le Bus, Bella Oliva for quality olive oils and vinegars, and the cheese shop with its excellent selections across the aisle. And the sushi place nearby is very nice too. Admittedly, there is little or no ambiance. The market needs to make the eating area less stark. But this is an upscale food court that is worth exploring.

The Jerk Pit is really a big surprise. First off the two girls working there were so nice...the food even better...I would have never expected this here so I am glad the girls so freely kept offering me samples! Very good Jerk chicken. Curried Chicken had a really nice cardamom kick and was excellently spiced. Really good Goat Curry too...but the Oxtail...awesome! This stewed oxtail with beans is really really good. Shocked it came out of a food vendor in Rosemont in a Main Line Food stand. I will positively go there again.

I told myself I'd only eat half the container... 20 minutes later, as I was scraping the last bits of rice and delicious curry sauce from the corners, I had zero regrets. Tonight I swung by the Rosemont Farmer's Market for dinner when I was feeling especially indecisive. After a walk about scoping out the wares, I decided to finally try the Jerk Pit. Went with a regular-size combo of curry goat with rice & beans and plantains as my sides (per the suggestion of the very lovely and friendly woman behind the counter), plus a beef pastry that looked too flaky and tempting to pass up. Hot mama, it was all amazing! The goat was fall off the bone tender, the curry sauce was spicy and complex, and the portion was ample. Rice and beans packed a signature Jamaican allspice punch and the fried plantains were perfectly ripe and sweet. The beef pastry was also fantastic and I can't wait to go back and try more items. Don't skip this place. Also, don't skip the Rosemont Farmer's Market. This place is a serious gem, with ample ready-made foods, meats, seafood, cheese, pastries, and almost anything else your heart could desire.

We have been here a few times now. One taste of this delicious, perfectly spiced jerk chicken, and you'll keep wanting more! My son LOVES the jerk chicken wrap... it is so fresh & delicious. The staff is wonderful & very knowledgeable. Very upbeat in their colorful chef's hats . The food is fresh & delicious. Authentic Jamacan fare. Owner, Grace, is delightful, full of energy & infectious smiles. I took home a side order of the Caribbean slaw... absolutely delish.... Large selection of drinks... many are imported from Jamaica.... This is the REAL deal! Can't wait until tomorrow....so we can go back! Thanks Grace!

The Jerk Pit missed an opportunity here to open The Jerk Store! The ocean called and they are all out of shrimp... Nice little shop in the Rosemont Farmer's Market...I was anxious to try the chicken after reading the rave reviews. As soon as I approached the Jerk Pit I was offered a sample from the lovely and talented Rebecca, who as others have mentioned, is very sweet and personable. I ordered a combo of Jerk Chicken and 2 sides, got the rice and beans and some type of cucumber salad to go with my jerk chicken. Sadly, I really didn't like anything I got! My wife did enjoy the rice and beans, as well as the cucumber salad, but neither one of us really warmed up to the Jerk Chicken...To me, there was one overwhelming spice that seemed a tad to overwhelming...Something was just a bit off. I am no islander and my only other experience with Jerk Chicken is from Gigi and Big R's food truck which serves jerk chicken that makes you sweat...That is what I was looking for and found the chicken at the Jerk Pit to spicey and lacking in heat... I don't even like cucumbers, so can't weigh in there...But I had similar issue with the rice and beans as I did with the chicken, the seasoning just didnt work for me. This shop is a little stall with hot water keeping the food warmers warm., which in turn keep the food warm. Not sure where they do there cooking but it doesn't seem to be here. I'll go again with my wife and try something else, but do stop by and see if Rebecca has any samples for you, I have a feeling you may like it more than I did! 3 stars for the variety and fine customer service!
