I saw 5 reviews and figured friends and family must have given reviews. But, we decided to try them regardless. All I can say is, they really do deserve 5 stars. Great value, food and service. I've lived in the area for 50 years and this is a gem. We will return - many times!

Fantastic Italian eatery and one of the best in Bucks. Service is friendly and everything on the menu from the fresh soups, to the tasty meats to the mouth watering pastas are terrific. I highly recommend the Penne Arriabiata. It's amazing. I'm so happy that I moved back to the area so I can now start coming back to this wonderful, hidden gem.

Best Ceasar salad you will ever eat in your life! The food is always tasty and both hostess and cook are so friendly. I eat there atleast once a week and they spoil me with extra surprises and appetizers. They are the best!

Important things first: It's BYOB and come hungry. Made a reservation and ordered beforehand for a rather large party(about 10 of us). As soon as we arrived there were just plates upon plates of food arriving at the table that were compliments of the house. We got tomato pie, bruschetta, and mussels completely free. And, they were amazing! We actually ordered pasta and sausage in a cream sauce, pasta in a bolognese and something else that I didn't actually try. Was too stuffed after the first 3 plates of appetizers and ample helpings of the 2 pastas. Out of the 3 family size plates we ordered, I'm pretty sure we ate maybe half of it. Denicola's took care of us, and everything was great. The servers were some of the nicest and most professional I've seen. The atmosphere was like a more authentic olive garden. Random oils and kitchen gadgets decorate the low-light walls. In conclusion, next time I'm in Richboro, I'll be making a special effort to return to Denicola's.

This by far was the worst meal I have ever eaten! The soup was salty and the rest of the meal was also terrible. My wife got the veal Marsala it was terrible!!!! I am actually still sitting in the restaurant.

We ...rediscovered... this very hidden gem. I had heard from a friend about Denicola and thought I had to try it not remembering I had been there 16 years ago .It is so hidden that I thought an Italian restaurant that I could see from the road had taken it's place .Lo and behold it wasn't gone but simply tucked in further from the road then I had remembered .Huge portions of REAL Italian food and lots of treats on the house like bruschetta and Tomato pie is what we dined on.The Cesare Salad was delish and the homemade dressing is what really made it. We had great al dente pasta and lovely breaded Chicken cutlets smothered in homemade tomato sauce and cheese .The Veal Parmesan was yummy and it was real Veal not the chopped and formed kind like you find in too many places.. The place does looks like it's stuck in the 90's but the food is timeless and good in taste and value. Worth the search in the Mallard Creek Plaza in Richboro PA.

We've eaten here a few times now. So trust me when I say this is thee most authentic Italian food and one of the best meals of my life. I don't understand why this place isn't packed every time we come. Service is on point. Not only is the food phenomenal but the portions are huge. Plus they serve extras to the table like bruschetta, caprese salad and pizza. Their vodka sauce is amazing. Caesar & spinach salad were fantastic. Can't say enough great things about this place. It's definitely in our restaurant rotation.

We used this place for our rehearsal dinner as it was very close to the Northampton Valley Country Club. We had a buffet for our wedding party. The food was really good and it was all very affordable. The pasta, meatballs, and chicken were all very good. It is a BYOB so we were able to bring our own wine. They actually let us bring home the leftovers which I actually enjoyed more the second time around! They make great food here and you can't beat the deal. They also have a really good lunch special we did try out before we booked the place for our rehearsal. Best deal in town. Definitely would recommend.

I have been to this restaurant twice now and both times the food was delicious and the service was friendly. The first time I had the chicken parmigiana with pasta and the piece of chicken was very generous I was able to bring some home for leftovers. My boyfriend had the four cheese pasta with chicken which has a really good creamy cheese sauce. This restaurant also serves complimentary Italian bread and butter, a small complimentary serving of bruschetta and also a small personal size complimentary pizza. These all all very good and filling so be careful not to fill up before your entree. We also went on Valentine's day and had a great meal. We shared a Caesar salad which was okay. Their Caesar dressing is not like traditional Caesar but still tastes good. For my dinner I had the special of Lobster ravioli in a Vodka sauce and my boyfriend had the pasta abbiata which was penne with a spicy red sauce. Both were very delicious! We shared the cheesecake for dessert which was very good and just the right portion after a large meal. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Ristorante Denicola has been around for more than a decade, but I just found out about it last week. Two Yelp friends introduced me to this fine Italian house when we met for dinner a few nights ago, and but for their detailing its location in the Mallard Creek Shopping Center I would never have seen it. Intentionally or not, it is a well kept (hidden) secret. The front door is inconspicuous, like a secondary entrance near green/white awnings that feel like the porch in the back of a home. Walking in, it is surprisingly large with rough hewn wood horizontal panels, dark tones, carpet, and nicely spaced tables. We sat is the corner in an otherwise empty dining room. Our server was well known to my friends, and she took very good care of us all night. This family business' signature style is to deliver much more than expected in the form of non-ordered extra dishes that are a surprising addition to the meal. For us, they dropped off Grilled Veggie Antipasto, Tomato Bisque, Homemade Sausage Pizza, Chicken Breast Joey (a piccata/marsala feel) and Cannoli, on top of our main courses. All this was a meal unto itself. When they then deliver a large plate of Penne A'glio Olio with Sautéed heavily Garliced Spinach, the result was taking most of it home. I'm not complaining, but it again brought to the forefront my discomfort with intentional excess in a world full of hunger. Here's the ironic part of the experience - my pasta was very good; al dente with well browned Garlic Chips mixed into the Spinach and Red Pepper dusted Penne. It was the best of my samplings, but the one I ate the least of because I was already full from everything that came surrounding it. The gratis accompaniments were also good, but a step down from the main course. The Antipasto had fresh cut tomato, onion and cilantro on top of the Grilled Zucchini and Eggplant. The "bruschetta" was cold while the nicely grill-ribbed large veggies were warm. It was an inconsistency that detracted from the cohesion of the dish. The Homemade Sausage was excellent and plentiful, but the tomato sauce was thin and runny. The Tomato Bisque had a pleasant creamy texture and taste, but was a little lumpy. The Chicken Joey was fine, but I was beginning to feel overwhelmed and mildly compelled to take a share. The Cannoli were perfect. The overall effect was that each additional offering both added and detracted from the meal. I don't think that was the intention in the kitchen, but that was how it felt. The generosity of the house also opened the door to mild disappointment. After this review my friends may regret inviting me, and I am sorry for that. I will definitely return and ask for a more limited approach to my next meal. I would rather be totally impressed with the food I desire, and have fewer filling distractions. Less is More.

I don't usually write reviews, but my husband and I had such a horrible meal here that I felt compelled to let others know. The food had absolutely no seasoning, my lasagna was burned on the bottom and my pastina soup (which was orzo) had to have come from a can. Please don't waste your money here. I can't even fathom where all of the glowing reviews came from.

Wow! A true find. A friend recommended this place which is tucked away in a corner of the Mallard Creek shopping plaza in Richboro. (If you weren't specifically looking for it you'd never see it in this plaza.) Well I'm not usually one for Italian cuisine but I had a hankerin' for veal and was told their veal was delicious, plentiful and very reasonably priced. Correct, correct and correct. The De Nicola family are wonderful hosts and they obviously take great pride in the quality of food which they prepare and serve. My only source of confusion was, "How in the world do they make a profit?" My "fixed price" dinner included a wonderful minestrone soup, a healthy portion of delicious pasta and of course I chose the veal :-)) All for the ridiculous price of $14.95 (No charge for the BYOB service, wonderful warm bread or the complementry bruschetta served with a side of grilled squash n zucchini.) We went on a Saturday nite and I admit that if your looking for "fast food" you should probably choose another place. This is quality, and quality takes a little time. In summary, Ristorante Denicola is well worth a visit. We will be returning on a regular basis. It's vealy, vealy good!

Denicola is some of the most authentic Italian food you can find not only in this area but perhaps for a long while around. Expect to eat big here, and if you order pasta, expect to me taking some home with you unless you have an incredible appetite. The spicy penne is the best item on the menu. Oh and did I mention there are complimentary appetizers provided by chef Angelo himself? It doesn't get much better than this everyone. My grandma and father are from Italy and have been cooking since before they immigrated, so I have had some of the best Italian dishes out there. This place is second only to my family's cooking. You have to give it a try!

Went here based on YELP reviews. Food was just OK. Nothing to make me want to return. I was there with 3 others who all ordered different dishes. We all agreed that our dinners were just "OK".

I don't get the reviews??? I'm convinced their family members posted them. We just moved to the area and did a search on Yelp. We ended up ordering out, since it was a Friday and didn't want to deal with crowds. When I got there I got a warm fuzzy feeling inside, looked homey and had music playing, however only two tables were full., for a Friday night, it was quite odd. I ordered chicken in wine sauce and hubby ordered grilled tuna. I got home and couldn't believe my eyes! A very unappealing piece of fish in a tin with none of the sides., 3 very unappealing small pieces of chicken with again no sides. They managed to remember bread which was okay and soup, however it had no taste to it and there was nothing to it. Now I cut into the chicken and could barely get my knife through it, it was sooooo dry and tasteless. My husbands fish was raw inside, and almost swears it was frozen before. Any real cook should know grilled, means grilled, not seared and raw inside. What a disappointing experience. I sooooo wanted to love this place. Oh well. Our dinner ended up being a chocolate shake from Mcdonalds that night.

This wonderful family-owned and -run Italian restaurant deserves to be discovered by Yelpers and non-Yelpers alike. We were tantalized by Gerald S's review, and we felt compelled to investigate. As others have noted, this restaurant's location is non-obvious, and we wandered around he Mallard Creek Shopping Center for awhile before we finally found the restaurant's front door. The restaurant has about two dozen tables that are split between the main dining room and a much smaller, secondary room. We were greeted by a lovely woman named Sandy, who was functioning as both maitre d' and server. Within moments of our taking our seats, a plate with freshly-made bruschetta appeared. It was delicious. The menu offered two prix fixe alternatives at $14.95 and $17.95, as well a la carte options. We selected the $17.95 option, which included three courses. For our first course, we selected the Caesar salad. Denicola's version was quite good, with a well-balanced, not overly salty dressing. While we were enjoying our salads, a personal size pizza was delivered to the table. It was thin-crusted with a mild but flavorful sauce and a light sprinkling of cheese. Sandy next served a plate of house-made Italian sausage, peppers and onions. Mr. M enjoyed every bit of this unexpected intermezzo. Our dinner plates included both our pasta and protein courses: Spaghetti and meat sauce plus flounder stuffed with crab for Mr. M and farfalle with salmon in a blush sauce plus chicken with asparagus and portobellos in a white wine sauce for me. The blush sauce stood out because the tomato was still vibrant (usually the tomatoey goodness is totally obscured by the other ingredients. Our entrees were delicious, and the portions so large that we left with 75% of the meal in our take-away bag. They made for a delicious Sunday night dinner. My only quibble with the meal was that the toast base of the bruschetta was not as crisp as it could have been.

How is this place 4 stars? All of the food we ordered was terrible across the board. We decided to get the the veal with asparagus and a side of spaghetti and meatballs as well as the penne arrabbiata. The lunch special also came with minestrone soup and a salad. I hated my meal. The veal was sour and had a pasty coating on it, as if it was pre-made and sitting in the fridge all week. Definitely spoiled. The asparagus was clearly from a can. Salad, I kid you not, was a small plate of lettuce with a tiny slice of tomato on top. Even crappy restaurant side salads have an olive or 2 or some carrot shreds. This was just lettuce. Mmmm lettuce. The Minestrone was okay and probably the best aspect of the meal, but it was drastically under-seasoned and a tiny portion, maybe a half cup. The dining room was nice enough and the staff was pleasant, but the sure sign that something was up here was the fact that there were no other patrons in the place. I mean, it's noon on a Friday and it's empty? I realize it's Richboro, PA and not a bustling city; but certainly, if a place is good, people will be eating lunch there...especially they're offering an $9 lunch special. Anyway, I don't see how these guys can stay open serving awful food like this. One star.

First time for my me and my husband. I can say the food and service was very good and we will return. Chefs personal pizza and bruschetta bread on the house was much appreciated and very good at that. Our tomato Mozzarella app was very good. My husband had chicken Parmesan with Arabians pasta . Pasta was cooked al dente the way it should be. I had salad with shrimp and crab meat which was delicious. Pricing is very reasonable. Service was very good ,prompt and pleasant. My only observation would and suggestion would be to update dining area by making it more appealing to dine in. We will definitely go back.

Outstanding friendly service. Made our table of 5 feel like family. The complimentary appetizers were a nice surprise, as I had not read reviews before going. All 5 of us had leftovers for the next day. Will be back soon!!

No air conditioning. A pad answer was given to everyone if they asked if the a/c was on. I do not like dining in a wind tunnel. I hate even more being lied to about whether the a/c is working. No rum in rum cake dessert. Hello, did you have a Friend of Bill W making this cake? Asked for red sauce with our entree. Got vodka sauce instead. Chairs very comfortable. Table was huge in comparison to many other restaurants. Bill was given to us while we were eating dessert, too early. Bread was good quality but too salty. Why add salt to good quality bread?

Delicious, authentic Italian food. Complementary appetizers. Polite, personable waitstaff. The tastefully decor and Italian music along with the staff NOT referring to my girlfriend and I as you guys (she always notices that even though it has become common slang) made for a prefect romantic dinner out.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
