It's one of the only places in Berks County to get BBQ... But here is my most recent experience: My wife and I started out with the "new" Buffalo Chicken Dip. It's pretty heavy and gross... Think chopped up chicken fingers, topped with Velveeta and hot sauce and then nuked till a glue-like consistency. Served with some tortilla chips. Definitely not worth the close to $10 they are asking for it. For dinner I had the St. Louis ribs and 1/4 BBQ chicken combo with the cinnamon apples and steamed broccoli. Unfortunately, our dinners arrived literally 2 minutes after the appetizer... I understand that the BBQ is already cooked earlier in the day and they are basically serving it, but what's the point of ordering an appetizer if the meal is served immediately? Of course, maybe they know how bad the Buffalo Chicken Dip was and wanted to get us to move on as quickly as possible? Another problem: while my dinner tasted good, it wasn't served hot. More like a decent "warm". But certainly not steaming... As I said, I understand that the BBQ is already cooked, but their holding temperatures certainly need some adjustment. My wife had ordered a salad, so there was no issue of hers being cold. Will we keep going back? Yes, probably. But we won't rush back...

Absolutely horrendous !!!! Last time we had an issue when we ordered to go. Sadly , kids love this place, so we keep going back :(. During our visit today , we were offered 2 separate items on the menu, to find out later that they were out, after we have ordered them. Food came out at the wrong time. manager Steve came by to inquire about our experience. Once I shared how I felt kids food was rushed out. Needless to say, with all these mistakes and consistent horrible experiences Smoke Bones still manages to stick everyone of their customers with an overpriced check. Bottom line , get your s4!% straight smokey bones. Cheers

I am torn between giving this place a 4 1/2 star rating for food flavor, and 2 Stars for service and organization! Up until the night we were here I have had good experiences at Smokey Bones. But tonight was just not their night, and it started when we walked in the door. We were a party of 3, and looking across the dining room there were a lot of empty tables. So I was mystified when they told me it would be a 15 minute wait! Why?? At exactly 15 minutes we walked past at least 8 empty booths or tables to our seat on the other side of the bar. There were only 4 tables with people at them on that side of the bar, and about 10 empty! Now the food: We ordered the deep fried Mac and Cheese, it was very good but the center was cold. But it was too good not to finish. I had the sampler platter and added an Item because I wanted 4 different things to try. For 2 of my selections I had the smoked wings so that my wife and stepdaughter could have some. My 3rd choice was the brisket and I added on a piece of grilled Chicken. When my plate arrived I had the wings and the grilled Chicken but not the brisket, So remind me again how the "add on" makes it on the plate but the the 3rd choice does not? The waiter did go and get it but I waited 8 minutes for it. My wife had the Smokehouse Burger Medium well. My Stepdaughter ordered the BBQ burger Well done. When they got their burgers they had the right toppings but the burgers were switched. And some of my stepdaughters toppings came on the side in a dish and she was missing the bacon. My wife's did not have any sauce on it! Remind me why it took so long to get our meals that were not even correct?? We notified the waiter and he asked if he could make the burgers again. Since we had already waited to be seated and waited over 50 minutes for our meals to arrive. We did not want to wait any longer for them to remake our burgers. The waiter said he would get the manager, 5 minutes later the manager arrives ( with what appeared to be a dip of chew in his lower lip, can we say health code violation!) and offers to personally make us new burgers and said it would only take 5 minutes. We agreed. 12 minutes later our new burgers come out looking like they should have the first time. By this time the ladies are no longer hungry, they take a few bites and ask for to go boxes. 5 minutes later the waiter returns with boxes for the new burgers and the wrong ones and says take them along too if you want them. The waiter then says I will go get your checkk, another 7 minutes goes buy till he returns. Thank God we can pay at the table! We were in a not so busy restaurant for 2 hours and did not even have a good experience or good food. We had been bragging about this place for the last few weeks since our last visit and now we look like a pair of idiots. How can a restaurant run like a well oiled machine when you are at capacity on a Friday night, and 2 weeks later on a Sunday night when your not busy at all, the wheels fall off? Since I am a member of the Smokey Bones club I will return, but on a busy night long after this memory has faded!

We were here around 6 p.m. the night before Thanksgiving. Our daughter wanted to try it and said that she would do call ahead seating. Well...it turns out that Smokey Bones does not do call ahead seating, so we just showed up and took our chances. The place was busy and we wondered if we would have a long wait. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. She checked the dining room and said that we would be seated in a few minutes as they were now cleaning off a table. Smokey Bones was founded by Darden Restaurants. In 2007, they unloaded it as they thought it wasn't very profitable. BBQ Integrated, under the umbrella of Sun Capital Partners now owns it. Sun Capital focuses on leveraged buyouts. They also now own Johnny Rockets. Once we were seated, our server showed up promptly. She was friendly and efficient plus knowledgeable about the menu. We started out with our drink orders. The kids all had milk. I had a passion fruit lemonade, which just tasted like an ordinary lemonade. The rest of the adults all got beers. Smokey Bones does have a large beer selection. We all decided to forego having an appetizer as we figured that dinner would be more than enough. I did a "create your own combo" meal and chose smoked beef brisket (which is only available after 4 p.m. and is "hand rubbed + slow smoked for 14 hrs.") plus smoked wingers (which are also "slow smoked"). For my sides, I chose mashed potatoes and gravy plus coleslaw. The brisket was decent enough with just enough fat to provide some moistness. The smoked wings were just okay. They were meaty but the smoked flavoring was...well...forgettable. The sides were just fine. My husband had the smoked beef brisket meal and his sides were baked beans plus coleslaw. He, too, thought the brisket was decent but he wasn't wowed. When it comes to brisket, my husband is now spoiled having had some awesome brisket in Texas. He did like the baked beans and thought that they had good flavor. We both agreed that the coleslaw was okay. Our son-in-law had baby back ribs. The meat was falling off the bones and to me, looked better, than what some independent bbq joints serve. He really liked his dish. Our daughter had the smokehouse burger which consisted of "1/2 lb. burger + broiled onions + peppered bacon + onion tanglers + toasted bun". She really liked her burger and said that she would have it again if she ever came back here. The kids all ate off the kids menu and had a grilled boneless, skinless chicken breast with a side of mashed potatoes. Two of them liked their meals and ate everything, while the youngest said he didn't like the mashed potatoes. As an aside---while the bathrooms were clean, they were poorly designed. When our daughter and I were in there, the hostess happened to be in there at the same time. She told us that the contractor put the doors in wrong as they were supposed to open out rather than in. The result is very cramped conditions. So, after all these years, why not fix them? So...overall, we weren't wowed. It's not the kind of place where you dream of going back to for another meal. I do give props to the staff as they were all very friendly. When we were leaving, several of them wished us a Happy Thanksgiving.

It was a long wait to get a table on a saturday night. The service was a bit delayed because of the volume. It has plenty of meat choices and the spices are delicious for the house seasoning. There is decent 'smoke' to the meats. They have an interesting collection of cocktails. The sangrias are delicious with the fruits and flavors they play with. They offer mailer coupons which helped with the cost of the meal. It is definitely affordable. The portion sizes were worth the price. They offer meal options for those who prefer a lighter meal as well as full on deep entrees for those with endless pits for stomachs. The restaurant is a bit loud. It does get crowded so service may be limited and likely to mess something up. Other than that, I would go back again.

Food was OK and atmosphere was solid. Came in on Sunday night, it was surprisingly busy. The ambiance was similar to BW3 - in a good way - that made it easy to keep up on the night's NFL games. A few in our group ordered brisket, only for the waiter to come back 5 min later and tell us they're out of brisket. Could be a good sign? But what kind of BBQ place, especially a chain, runs out of brisket on a Sunday? I got a buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. It was OK...not bad, but nothing to ask for again. Typical chain experience--didn't hate it, but it wasn't outstanding.

I waited 1 hour for my food to come out like this... Piled on no display just looked like it was thrown on there. The broccoli must have been cooking for a good 3 1/2 hours because it just fell apart at the touch. Meat tastes fine but just thrown on there. I can't believe I waited this long for something like this... Never will be returning again. If it was 10 and this was the only place open I would rather go to a wawa and get a hoagie or something biggest waste of time.

I was here on Tuesday, February 25th. I was in the area for training for work. After class we were going to go back to the hotel but, it was PACKED!! So we decided to get dinner. All 3 of us are from CA so we drove around and stumbled on this place. We get there and turns out that there are others there waiting for a table. Looks like we now need a table for 15. They sat us in the bar. A few people there had been there before and some were locals and raved about the place. I thought "must be good.." They had 2 servers helping us. Both were good and attentive especially since there were a lot of us and most of whom have huge positions in the corporation. Right away, we ordered some appetizers. Fried pickle - I tried one, it was ok... I have definitely had better! Smoked chicken wings - everyone seem to like it, I thought I've had better at BWW! Garlic and Parmesan chicken wings - good but, nothing special. Pretzel sticks and some sort of cheese dipping sauce - I'm a sauce girl and a cheese girl but, the pretzel was better than the sauce! Everyone ordered drinks... That's what VPs do after hours apparently. Get trashed! Looks like there was a good beer selection but, they ordered budlight. Classy! My first drink was a Bloody Mary. It was good but, I had a better one in Vegas a few weeks prior. Time to order dinner... I got the create a combo. I picked brisket which is only available after 4pm, and 1/8 of BBQ chicken. My sides were coleslaw and upgraded to the Mac and Cheese since one of the locals suggested it. Brisket, I ate it... Lol but, nothing fantastic. The chicken... Wasn't a fan at all. Tore it apart but didn't eat it. Coleslaw was alright. The Mac and cheese was quite tasty! Oh and they had a side of garlic bread. Took a bite but I think it tasted like the frozen Texas toast you get in the freezer aisle. Everyone gets their food. One got totally wrong sides. Like not even close and another person didn't even get his food! The servers were nice and took care of it right away. I might've given it a 3 because I was in good company. The food is mediocre. The service was good. And it's practically the only thing opened late in that city!!

Went in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated and had just missed the rush because the waiting area was packed on our way out. The pork tenderloin was pretty good. Burnt in some spots but overall a nice entree. I'd stay away from the buffalo chicken sandwich though. They have a bunch of tvs for your viewing pleasure. Service was nice from the host to the manager. Definitely coming this way again for some BBQ next time.

We have been here many times but the last time was definitely not impressive. Service was slow, the chicken wings were small and burned. Was not a great experience overall.

Though Smokey Bones is located in close proximity to Texas Roadhouse, it is a great alternative. While much of the menu offerings are similar, it is less-steaky and more BBQ-y. Inside, it also has a different take; it is less of a honky-tonk atmosphere and more lodge-like. Large-screen TV's surround the bar area, and provide ample entertainment (especially last night, during March madness). Service has been good during my three visits; servers are extremely friendly (although sometimes try too hard, imho), knowledgable of the menu, and keep the drinks refilled. Last night's choice, KC Ribs and pulled pork combo, was pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good. Price was $14.99 for the combo and $2.50 for the iced tea. Four different styles of BBQ are available at the table for your preference. This is a good comfort food establishment, and personally, it has won the battle of the local BBQ. Proof is in the wait; expect 30 minutes on a given Friday or Saturday night. On the downside, I can't help but be repulsed by some the offerings, in terms of nutrition. Sure, my ribs and pork and fries won't win any favors with my arteries, but a burger offered consisted of 3-1/3 lb patties, cheese, fried onion rings, bacon? Another offered 1/3 lb patty with pulled pork, cheese and bacon (see another yelper's photo). If this doesn't make the menu of the nearby McDonalds look like a weight-watcher's healthy alternative, I don't know what does. Sure, salads are on the menu also; but the fact that Americans are actually doing this to themselves is a sad commentary. Maybe if it was offered along with a treadmill to eat it on, perhaps! Just sayin'... In the meantime, we'll definately be back. Good eats...with moderation!

So after a nice day at the beach we stopped at Smokey Bones to fill our empty takes. 3:45'ish on a Sunday and the place was less then half full. Ask for a table and was ask to wait just a few minutes as they changed shifts. Quick wait and our table was ready. Nice room with TV's to watch, but not turned up as to bother you while eating. Quick drink service which is important to me as I am always thirsty. Decided against an App so made our choices. Would not mind having a bag of nuts or some rolls to nosh on as we waited, but that is not part of the deal. Wait for food was 10-15 minutes, so no issue with that. I would rather wait then get heat and hold food any day. Wife had the steak with a butter sauce that I never got a bit of, but she said was good. The mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples were horked down in no time flat. Daughter want for the St. Louis Ribs and she gave them a thumbs up. I did the build your own platter w/ St. Louis Ribs, Brisket, smoked wings, baked potatoes and grilled corn. Sides were fine, just needed a bit of salt to the corn to play up the sweetness. Potato was, well and potato. Ribs: nice smoke, but not very heavy. I like a heavy bark and bit deeper smoke line. I tend to go for the St. Louis style over the baby back. I like to fat that gives it a softer tooth and richer taste. Original sauce was ok, but a bit sweet for my taste. Brisket: sliced thin enough, but thick enough to give you some chew. Tender meat with good overall flavor. The sauce we a pretty standard steak sauce with a little extra spice. Smoked Wings: These were very good. Not huge, but still meaty. Not much char to the wing, but still best of the three items on the plate. For sauces on the table. KC BBQ,Chipotle BBQ, Mustard BBQ,Carolina Mopping Sauce. KC: ok, but to sweet. Chipotle BBQ had a better blend of sweet and spice. Would like a bit more heat. Mustard: Pretty good. Carolina: a bit one noted of tomato and sugar. I stick with the Mustard, then the Chipotle. I would tweak the sauces to create a bit more distinction are greater sweet to heat distinction. Erin our server did a good job and made sure my blackberry tea was always full. So, yea I would return. Pic's to follow.

This place is the worst at night. Everytime I've come here at night and ordered wings, they were raw in the qmiddle and the sauces were just dumped on the wings. The staff is friendly, but horrible at getting down our orders accurately. We complained and the manager gave us new wings, but they were the same wings coated nicely but they were COLD. I will never come back here at night... When I've come in the morning the wings were great! The quality of their food was awesome. But at night, it sucks.

  • Char J.

I love Smokey Bones... at least I want to. In the last couple years the quality and taste of their food has declined seriously. I used to love the cornbread; now it's a race to eat it before it cools off and becomes rubbery. I would order large trays of wings for game-day parties, and now everything is barely seasoned or sauced so the chicken just tastes like it was pulled from the freezer and fried. More like Rubbery Bones. :-(

Food was disgusting! The ribs were tough and too salty! The man and cheese TASTELESS!! Will not be returning ever!

The worst service ever! Came in with a party of 8. We were there for over 2 hours. The manager gave us free desserts. Which was nice. Then the bill came and it was wrong. That took literally, 20 minutes, while the waitress & manager were hunched over the computer trying to fix their error. NEVER AGAIN!!

I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich to-go for lunch. It didn't meet expectations. It was a piece a fried, boneless chicken, which was dry and strangely dark in places, splashed with some hot sauce. The bun had a good flavor, but that's about the best thing I can say about the sandwich. There was also some lettuce and blue cheese dressing on it, but the lettuce was wilting. And you'd think for $9 it would come with some kind of side, but there was nothing. Ick!

This was my first time going. I found it to be pretty good for a chain restaurant. Loved the pretzel bones with different sauces. Had a good garden salad for $3.50! And really tasty cornbread. My boyfriend LOVED the smoked turkey breast.

  • Sung L.

It was definitely better years ago on my first visit. On a recent trip, the pulled pork was not very good and the baby back ribs were average at best. The sides are pretty good. Smokey Bones is almost exactly like Famous Dave's BBQ chain.

    (3)
  • Rob P.

I always liked Smokey Bones. This location always seems to be extremely busy. But, in my mind, that's a good thing as my food has always been hot and fresh. I typically get the pulled pork sandwich and it's always good. They have a variety of sauces to choose from on the table that add to the sandwich. Their fresh doughnuts for dessert are also very good.

Ive been here twice and both times they've had the air conditioning on too strong. We asked the waiter to turn it down though, and he did so nicely. The food is pretty good. I got their baby back ribs both times, but tried them in different sauces. Their cornbread appetizer is really good and comes with some kind of sweet butter that makes it even better! They have tons of flat panel TVs all around the restaurant showing a few different channels. I think they're usually showing at least one sports game and one news channel. They have a nice bar area too, but I've only been here for lunch.

I'm giving this one star because I had too. Our family came in for dinner, and I do not recommend coming back here. I have worked in a restaurant so I completely understand the high strung environment. The nachos came out with no cheese, buffalo chicken dip is just cut up frozen chicken tenders, and worst of all my brother had come down with food poisoning from the scorcher burger. We would not return to the overpriced, poor quality food sold here. I feel bad for the staff trying to sell these products they call food.

I believe that Smokey Bones has slipped over the past two years. There has been significant reduction in portion size and I do not think that the food is any way as good as it was four or five years ago. We used to like eating at Smoky Bones, and but now we seldom will go there, and even with a coupon for $10 off and a drive of less than a mile. That's too bad, I really liked their ribs a few years ago.

We got there on a Monday night at 8:30pm, so it was a pretty slow night. Our waitress didn't really have a personality and I could tell she didn't want to be there that night. After we got out drinks ordered she came back with mine incorrect. We began by ordering the baby back ribs with the additional favorites with the extra charge. She definitely let us know that it was an extra charge, but it seemed more out of annoyance, we said we understood that it was extra. Our food was a little dry, but it was decent. I didn't think out drink refill service was adequate. A couple of times at the end she would come back to refill our drink, but she already had her coat on??? Was she smoking and couldn't refill our drinks, or what? I did like the fact that I accidently left my card and she ran out and gave it to me, thank you. I honestly didn't give her that great of a tip because I feel you should earn for your tip. Hey, I know some people make a living off of it, but earn it. Even if you aren't the greatest, try, put on a personality. Make your customers feel like they're welcomed.

This is more like a 2.5 star review. I'm quite torn between experiencing better and having a pretty good time at this place. Food-wise, I'm not too thrilled about it. And if I had a choice of other decent restaurants (and there are plenty better choices in the area), I wouldn't CHOOSE here. But if someone else wanted to come here, I'd tag along. The skinny: I ordered the combo platter with the smoked wings, beef brisket, loaded baked potato and broccoli. The wings were okay, a little over cooked but I liked the flavor. The broccoli was over cooked also. The beef brisket was disgusting. Too fatty and hardly any flavor. However, I ate the loaded mashed potato like it was the last one on earth. I died and went to bacon, sour cream, butter, and chives heaven. And I very much enjoyed it. Then we topped it all off with the Apple Wontons for dessert. Which were surprisingly wonderful and inexpensive ($2.99). The drink prices were good. $3.95 for a shooter?? That's effin great! And I received wonderful service from host to waiter. I'd come here again more so because I had a nice dining experience and less for the food (which is why I finally decided on the 3 stars vs. the two). But it seems like if you know what to order, the food can be okay also. And even if its not good, it's not that expensive so you won't feel like you got robbed.

We stopped by this restaurant, (I can't even say the name) on our way home from a recent Tibetan Sacred Dance at PSU - Berks. A parody, I know. I never would have agreed to it, but Dee was having a real hankering for a salad that we later learned they no longer serve. "Look around!" I bellowed as he suggested we stay. Their signage and decor speaks solely to killing animals and reflects a sarcastic notion toward people who do not eat meat. Am I the only one who sees a sign that reads "Vegetarian means can't catch anything in Indian" in a public place as offensive or controversial? I regret to say that we did stay. We shared a serving of the cornbread and then hightailed it outta there. I felt very sad about being in a place of such nescience; I went home and immediately said a confession prayer: "O dear Buddha, possessed of the ten powers Those terrible wicked acts I have committed in the past Before your eyes, I confess them all."

Being from NJ we don't have these so visited the one south of DC in Woodbridge, VA. last year. Stopped into this one on 05/14/11 for lunch. The thing i love in this chain is the brunswick stew which i've never had anyplace else. The large bowl is ok, could be a little larger for 5 bucks. Pulled pork being my fav i ordered that platter with two sides. It seems like the portions are getting a little smaller because the slaw and beans both arrived in little cups. The meat portion was ok, not tremendous either with a little too much gristle and skin. i would have rather not picked that out. the flavor was ok and the new spicy sauce was fine. With a beer and the stew it came to 20 bucks before tips. So i'd say portion control was at work cutting cost a little. This is the same thing at cracker barrel. The waitresses are cute and very friendly. There are 4 tv's in the bar so it's easy to order another brew and relax. So it's pretty pricy with the beer and app. and it could've been a little larger portion for the money.

My kids who live in the area recommended this place for linner (lunch/dinner). The staff was very friendly, the server was very attentive. The food was very very good. I had the baby back ribs and pulled pork and both were wonderful. The corn side was very tasty. We were able to watch most of the NFC playoff game with all the televisions in the place, but they weren't a distraction. Definitely will go back when I'm back in the area.

Ate here with my husband and kids. The restaurant has all the makings to be fantastic but just isn't there yet. i was surprised that the place had been there for 9 yrs bc their mistakes were very avoidable. I ordered a mojito that tasted more like soda water than anything else. Ordered south west egg rolls that were cold. The kids' chicken fingers were over done. The beer my husband ordered was out of stock. The table next to us had the same problems. That being said, their beer list (if it's all available), their food (when it's hot), and service is very good. Our waitress brought the kids' food and drinks very fast and was attentive the whole time.

How can you overcook a buffalo chicken sandwich? Well they managed to do that on two occasions now. Food overall is just so-so. Waitresses wear muffin top shirts and it's not a good look. Atmosphere is distracting. Service is just OK. I'd skip this chain.

And I think one star is being very nice. This is very bad fast food BBQ. I had the brisket and rib plate and it was the worst brisket I have ever had. It was sliced very thin and was chewy, tough, and had no flavor except the weak ass sauce they use. Save your money, you can eat a McDonald cheaper and it's 1000 times better.

I really have had a lot better ribs than I had here. Even Texas Roadhouse did it a little bit better. I like all the different sauces, but it sucks when I liked the sauces more than I liked the food itself. Also, my drink from the bar was not strong at all, and for what I paid for it, I should have been falling on the floor. I'll pass on this one next time.

i normally don't give bad reviews and i almost feel bad doing it, but i kind of have to in this situation. we went here for my father's birthday and i'm pretty sure i have food poisoning now. i am on a diet, so i did some research online for their nutrition info. i plan ahead so i can pick the healthiest option. i ordered the garlic-glazed 7 oz sirloin, broccoli, and mashed potatoes without gravy. the broccoli and mashed potatoes were fine. however, i ordered the steak medium and it came out almost raw. furthermore, the consistency was not even steak-like. it was very rubbery and chewy. nobody else in my family was impressed by their food either. probably never going back here.

Food eh. But open late (2am) with drink prices that aren't as bad as most chains.

Went here on a Sunday night. We had to wait for a table for a few minutes but were sat quickly. We both got their original rack of ribs which were tasty and falling off the bones. My broccoli was way over cooked and soggy but everything else was good. There are jumbo tvs showing sports but there are annoying signs hanging in the dining room that obstructed our view. According to the person I was dining with they used to have a different floorplan where you could see the tvs from your tables and they used to have speakers at your table so you could hear the tvs. Not sure why this was changed, but it would have been awesome.

Have been here several times with family. Really enjoyed it in the first few years it was open. The past three times I have been there, I had horrible experiences. The first incident, They brought out the completely wrong burger, bringing me out the right one long after my family had finished their meals. The second time, I had ordered a bowl, which they completely forgot the chicken and popcorn on. When I politely told my server, she gave me attitude, argued with me, and then when I showed her on the menu what I ordered, she brought me out cold chicken fingers and popcorn and told me to put it on myself. The most recent visit, I ordered a burger again, and they brought me the wrong burger, again. They now have these computer monitor things where you can call your server, so I did, and after about fifteen minutes of sitting there watching the rest of my table eat, the owner came over and asked why I didn't like the inncorrect burger that I was brought (I had not eaten it) and that I should try it because it was good for me, when it contained an ingredient that I am allergic to. Brought me out the right burger, but was burnt black. Will never be going back.

This was my first time in the place and I must say I was impressed. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately and they have Guinness on draft which he poured perfectly! I liked the big bar, all the screens and the vibe was relaxed. I had the Baby Back Ribs with 2 sides - $20 not bad and it was awesome, best I've had in a while. Like I said, the bartender couldn't of been nicer -its a well run establishment!

Tough call, folks. I'm fighting the sway of nostalgia, after a less than expected experience tonight. Admittedly, nostalgia can unfairly set the bar a rung or two, too high. However, tonight was largely 'm'eh', and after re-acquainting with St Louis and KC BBQ joints, at least this location of Smokey Bones left something to be desired. Wings are tasty, and are generally ample. We didn't try the smoked variety, and probably should, too. Slaw was acceptable - had a unique after taste that kept it light. Mashed potatoes were "dirty" ... and that's how I like 'em. Brisket came out pretty good. Reasonably tender. Slices were thin, but not deli-slice thin like I've had at some places. Not sure which sauce was served on them - I'm guessing the KC variety that they have at the table. Con: only three slices, in the 'combo plate' order. Skimpy. Ribs - baby back with Memphis rub. M'eh. Way too much glaze and probably sat a while, too. Made for a tough coat, which got chewy, on my last rib. For the 16 bucks, this was a weak combo offering. My daughter, who ordered the kids pasta, said it was cold. The pulled pork portion in the combo was also small, and appeared to have been presented by an ice cream scoop ... okay, a baseball-sized ice cream scooper. Service tonight was slow. I heard complaints from the tables around me on the inattentive service and the accuracy of orders. One in our party received her vegetables a good 5 minutes after the entrees arrived. Not sure why so slow. Our waiter appeared to only have several tables. Saw several of the wait staff congregating and pausing for chat sessions, throughout the night. Was it a management thing? Waiter productivity? Or, kitchen not up to snuff. We'll probably be back, but the luster has faded.

This was my first time going. I found it to be pretty good for a chain restaurant. Loved the pretzel bones with different sauces. Had a good garden salad for $3.50! And really tasty cornbread. My boyfriend LOVED the smoked turkey breast.

It was definitely better years ago on my first visit. On a recent trip, the pulled pork was not very good and the baby back ribs were average at best. The sides are pretty good. Smokey Bones is almost exactly like Famous Dave's BBQ chain.

Ick!

Food eh. But open late (2am) with drink prices that aren't as bad as most chains.
