Went back and this time had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. Simply amazing - rich and tasty. Finished off with the chocolate bag!! One of my co-diners referred to it as the best dessert she'd ever had. Couldn't agree more. Yum ...

Excellent! We were there the first week that they opened. I had a small problem with my order and they took care of it immediately and with a lot of class. We had dinner there again last week and the food was WONDERFUL!!! The ahi tuna was done to perfection, potatoes gratin was nicely seasoned and the steamed green beans were surprisingly delicious ( most places just steam and throw the veggies on the plate as an afterthought but these were fantastic. We were having a minor celebration, and had the "chocolate bag filled with berries and whipped cream" which was to die for good. The dark chocolate bag was of very high quality. The berries had been macerated and were sweet and juicy and the whipped cream was real heavy cream, freshly whipped with just a tad of sweetness. It was decedent and the stuff of dreams. We eat dinner out 2-3 times a week, and are thrilled to be able to add Coastal Grille to the very small list of "regulars."

Went with my hubby, in laws and 5 yo. We ordered the calamari and shrimp appetizers which were both tasty although the calamari pieces were rather tiny. I can't speak for the in laws but I ordered the crab cakes with a scallop skewer and the crab was good with real lump pieces. The scallops however was cooked well but had no seasoning whatsoever. My rice was also dry and flavorless. My hubby got the filet mignon and although tender and cooked to order was unseasoned requiring added salt and pepper or steak sauce. I know this is a seafood restaurant but since it is affiliated with a steak restaurant that has good steak, we were surprised at the unseasoned steak he received. My 5 yo liked his sliders and Mac n cheese. I feel that although some things were good, the restaurant needs to be better to justify the prices or be qualified as a mid level to upscale date restaurant.

This place is going to be great if they can keep the service at the same level they have now. I was very impressed and that's not easy. I tested the waitress on some of the menu items to see if they just hired people or if they really trained the staff. She was able to answer all of my questions with no hesitations. The food was delicious but most importantly the manager made his presence known. That is HUGE for me. Not only did he refill our beverages but he was a team player and made sure to ask us how our service was at the end. Showing customers that you appreciate their business goes a long way I will definitely go back!

Went today for lunch. We kind of tested the limits of the menu given that my wife and I frequently visit Maine and just came back from a two week stint in California. Certainly Maine is the master of lobster rolls and California owns fish tacos. My wifes lobster roll was presented on a traditional buttered and grilled roll (more substantial and tasty than a hot dog bun), with the lobster served cold and tasty. The lobster meat was combined with a very light mayo and just the right amount of celery and celery seasoning. The lobster itself was less chunked and more shredded, which I think is the perfect use of the excess lobster meat during processing. The flavor of the meat and the light seasoning blend was just absolutely perfect. And for $12? Great presentation, execution and taste! This has to be the best not overpriced lobster roll I have had outside of Maine (hey, those guys in Maine are getting lobster cheaper than ground chuck so they can knock it out of the park). She had a side of Carolina style coleslaw and being from the Carolinas I can say it was true to style. While other regions have influenced my slaw style preference over the years, this is a very good representation of "southern slaw". Would be tremendous piled on a cheeseburger. Having came back from a couple weeks in CA and being a huge fan of fish tacos, I was curious to see what they could put together in Wyomissing, PA. I was neither excited nor discouraged by the grilled tilapia offering upon ordering. The lunch plate was delivered with two fish tacos and a side of shoe string fries. My wife and I loved the fries, though you are best served eating the tiny things with a fork versus a traditional hands on approach. The fish was standard tilapia, however the cilantro lime sauce popped of lime and was very pleasing. The tilapia had the exact perfect amount of heat, as my wife enjoyed her one bite without complaining of heat, while I enjoyed the mild glow of heat through the meal. Very well done. I have this really weird thing about sweet combinations and ordered the mango salsa on the side. For me mango salsa is hit or miss on certain fish tacos. Had one of the tacos with the salsa and one without. While I preferred the one without, the person who enjoys a hearty with sweet food (think pineapple and ham pizza) would love this. The only recommendation I could make here is get some wahoo in these tacos and I would eat them daily! At around $10 for the lunch portion this was crazy good. Our service was fine, which is a substantial upgrade from the prior Seafood Shanty. No issues were really noted. My only complaint here, and I am certain that Pete DiCarlo who is doing a great job of monitoring Yelp and replying to Yelp reviews for his new business will address, is the beer. While we waited for a few minutes for our table I did a cursory review of the taps in the bar and noted that there was at least 30 beers on tap. Seafood Shanty did a nice job of keeping good craft beer on tap but never let anyone in the dining room know what they had. I noted on the front 15 or so taps they had Stone Go To IPA and a few select Troegs and Victory products. I did not check out the 15 or so taps back toward the service area, however I have to assume they are decent. Upon sitting at the table I asked the waitress if she had a tap list. She pointed to the printed list on the back of the menu. My wife gets insane when I point out that "Lancaster Brewing", "Troegs Brewing", etc is not a beer but a brewery. There is zero mention of any Stone products. There is no description of the Sam Adams Seasonal, Lancaster Seasonal, etc. It would benefit Coastal Grill tremendously to take a few minutes and print a current tap list of what is actually on tap. If you want to get crazy, go to one of the real time tap hunter style sites and update what you have on tap. It's free and will drive a lot of craft beer guys (and their families) to your venue. Oh, AND DON'T SERVE CRAFT BEER IN FROZEN GLASSES! I really thought we were past chunks of ice in my Victory Hop Devil!
