I swear places like this actually buy from Restaurant Depot a shellac that they coat everything with. It's not quite a burnt umber....it's a bit lighter and grayer than that. They start with the menus, which also get a spritzing of Imperial Margarine-like goop that has your hands instinctively groping for the hand sanitizer. Then they move to the seats, tables, windows and most overtly, the salad bar sneeze guard. Through the shellac, I think I spotted a dollop of ambrosia floating lazily through a sea of wax beans. I barfed, but nobody really noticed.

Whenever I've eaten here the food wasn't very good and it was too expensive for a diner. I'd recommend the other diner-John Plain & Fancy.

If you're looking for a simple restaurtant for breakfast, this is the one. Although the decor leaves much desired, the breakfast menu is adundant. Anything your tastes buds want there's something on the menu that will match it. On my last visit there, we were sat immediately and our server was very nice. I ordered the Quakertown Special, eggs, toast, homefries, and orange juice for around $4. Not a bad price. I was pleasantly surpised when I ordered iced tea that it wasn't sweetened. My eggs were slighly cold but not enough to complain about them not being hot. Warning: They put butter on the toast for you!

We go to this restaurant almost every Saturday night. The prices are great, the food is great, and the service is impeccable! The hostess that is there on Satufday night is very nice and friendly and accomodating, and every server that we've had so far has gone above and beyond with fantastic service! The salad bar is nice, and especially nice that it's open until around 10:00pm! Can't say enough good about this diner. Very cozy-nice decor, and extremely comfortable.

I had not been to this diner in over three years and I quickly was reminded why I hadn't been there in a long time. The service was OK as was the setting, but our food was cold and not all that appealing. I concluded that I would not return again.

Service was friendly and efficient. That was the highlight of the meal. The salad bar was lacking simple things like tomatoes. Now it gets really bad. I took a chance and ordered the chicken Marsala over fettuccine The chicken was in large strips and should have been stir fried as the menu suggested. They were grey in color and appeared to be cooked in a microwave. Now take the chicken and put it on a bed of overcooked fettuccine noodles. Add a few canned mushrooms and cover with some grey tasteless gravy and call it Marsala sauce. I usually do not add salt to anything since most diner food has more than enough. However I broke with tradition and had to lsalt everything to get any flavor. Next time I will stick with a sandwich or breakfast just not at this place.

Agree salad bar is better than most other dinners, got the 1/2 roasted chicken (Someone contact PBS and tell them big bird is gone) that was massive. Only downside was slow on drink refill. Overall strong 3 stars.

Service was terrible and food was disgusting. Order was messed up more than one time. Never going back and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Based on the comments of previous Yelp reviewers, this venue has been recently renovated. Our waitress was excellent, and gave me a complimentary veggie plateto accompany my food, since I'm lactose intolerant and all the soups were milk based. Good salad bar with all the accoutrements. The chicken dish was very, very good and tender. I would give it another star but for a busy diner like this, not to have WiFi in the second decade of the XXI Century is unacceptable....

I was warned there are no good diners in our area, so we went out of our area. Apparently our area is larger than I imagined. The place was doing a brisk business, plenty of regulars in attendance judging from the waitress chatter. Don't get me wrong-the wait staff was the best part of the experience. The three of us ordered favorites from the "Friday specials" menu. Prime rib (medium please), crab cakes, and fried flounder. Reasonably priced with choice of veg and salad bar included. The salad bar was the highlight of the meal. The prime rib was more like crime rib-overcooked, under spiced, and far fattier than even prime rib has any right to be. One if the two flounder fillets was tough and chewy the other was ok, but a but fishy tasting (that's when I stopped eating...). And my son's crab cakes were mostly bread filled. Very little crab or anything else redeeming to speak of. Folks, if my teenage son won't eat your food, you done goofed. When we complained, our server was very apologetic, but no, we didn't want anything else, just the check. She came back with an offer to just charge us for the salad bar and drinks, which seemed ok. Until the bill came and they charged us $7 each for that limp, scrawny salad bar. We ran for the hills... At the cash register the nice lady in the Christmas sweater asked how everything was. I asked if she was the manager, and i proceeded to detail the low points of the meal. She seemed genuinely surprised. Poor thing, people must lie to her all day long. Oh well, one more added to the Avoid list.

Due to work, I've been driving up and down 309 from Allentown to Philadelphia for the past 5 months, hence I've tried most of the chain fare on the strip. I stopped into this place and the food was repulsive. My chicken tasted frozen and overcooked. The place was greasy and needed to be remodeled and the patrons looked just as unsavory as my meal.

Food was really good, like always. But service was TERRIBLE. We had a table for 7 and our waitress had an attitude from the moment we sat down, dropped off our food, didn't come back to the table to check how we were doing or how our food was. Didn't see her again until she dropped our check off, didn't bother to ask if anyone wanted dessert. Wish I would have gotten her name so I know who to request NOT to have as a waitress next time. As a waitress I was really disappointed in the service. At least pretend to like your job and care about your customers!

Breakfast here was A-OK. There was nothing that stood out or made it bad. I had a Greek omelet and it was just fine. The home fries were fine as well. The service was pretty friendly. Our party also had pancakes and creamed chipped beef. The pancakes were large and seemed average. The chipped beef lacked flavor.

Not bad. My fiance and I had the philly cheese steak wrap with the salad bar and I gotta say the wrap was pretty filling and quite tasty, the salad bar was just as good. My 8 yr old nephew had fries & chicken fingers, the fries weren't the greatest and I kinda think he agreed but he devoured the chicken fingers. My nephew and I also tried the fried pickles, which were ok with a ranch dipping sauce, but the first one he ate slipped right out of panko bread crumbs and singed his mouth, same for me. Tasty but too hot and probably could've been better if the pickles were circular as opposed to spears. The Price wasn't horrible, I thought the decor was on the mark for a diner type eatery. My only beef was the host, by far the most downtrodden dude I have ever met like if he wasn't working he'd rather be dead. Thankfully the waitress had a bit of upbeat spunk to her.

We stopped in after a long night of trying to buy a new car. For a diner, their staff is really quite good. The food was pretty good and they were very accommodating of my special needs (I just had surgery). It was nice to go there for a quick meal which was pretty decent. I am glad we stopped.

I went to this restaurant on a spur-of-the-moment kind of day on a Sunday Morning, after church had let out. Think about that...a diner after church lets out on a Sunday morning. Yes, I thought I'd never get in. To my amazement, this diner was huge, and we got right in! I had Tommy's Special (2 eggs scrambled with ham & cheese on a croissant w/home fries) and my friend had French Toast. Tommy's Special was excellent...my friend said the French Toast was nothing worth raving about. Great service, though, and tons of friendly people to help you out. I would recommend this restaurant to families, or just people looking for good eats. And, the have the BIGGEST menu I've ever seen, so they can sure accommodate what you eat...whether you're on a diet, only eat a bit, or you eat 5 courses, you'll find something for you on the menu. Great place!

The Quakertown Family Restaurant is very reminiscent of a Diner actually. Breakfast can be had any time and the waitress on my most recent visit ensured me the eggs for my Spanish omelet would be beaten fresh. The menu is quite adequate and the specials seemed appropriately priced as well. There are claw machines for the kids in the lobby and the parking is sufficient. Sorry, no sweet tea here, you'll have to get by with raspberry variety. Over all I am happy to recommend this place.
