Ugh. The meatballs were like cat food, smelled like cat food, mushed like cat food, I am pretty sure they were made out of cat food... it was quite possibly the worst meal I've had in years, we ended up having to eat something else. The pasta was complete mush and smelled off (like it had been boiled to death in oily water) and the sauce was on the edge of rancid. I rarely feel angry at a restaurant but I felt like they stole from me. I have no idea why anyone would eat here. My children (12, 8 & 2) who would eat Ragu or Hamburger Helper if I served it to them were gagging. I wish I was blowing this out of proportion, trust me, I'm not.

Your rating, really, should probably depend on *why* you're at Cutillo's. For example - a catered event in their private room? A+. Here for a dinner with a date? A+. Here for happy hour with some friends? Eh.... Cutillo's used to be "fine dining with a view," but recently changed to "relaxed dining," instead. I think that's fairly misleading - you won't find bar food staples here (nachos!? no way) and what is there (boneless buffalo wings) won't be what you expected (um, little shriveled up pieces of chicken in a weird orangey sauce?). Still, the drink menu is fun (oh man, martini Thursday!) and their specials are great. They do have some less-than-awesome live music at times, but it's not usually that bad; still, it can get loud in the bar area if you're trying to have a conversation.

We had our baby shower here this weekend. Everything was wonderful. Food came out quickly and the space was adequate for the number of people. The staff was very helpful with everything. A lot of people complimented on how nice it was and how good the food was. The only thing I can't speak to was the cost, as my family threw the shower for us.

I went to Cutillo's for dinner a couple of Thursdays ago. The views are great from the dining area and I was impressed when I walked in, but that's where the good experience ended. We ate at the bar and the bartender took my wine glass when it was still a quarter full. I ordered the Steak Diane and it was dry and tasteless. The steamed vegetables it was served with didn't have any spices or seasoning, not even salt. The meal was completely bland and poorly cooked. There was a good band that night that was enjoyable to listen to, but I wouldn't go back to this place for anything more than a drink. Go down the road in the other direction to Stoppers in Birdsboro if you're looking for an excellent meal. You won't be disappointed.

The food is good and the staff helpful. I used to hit this place fairly often as they offer(ed) free pizza and subs on Thursday afternoons. Not a bad deal: free food. Which led to a bar tab, but I'm sure that was the plan. For a real treat hit the bar on a Saturday night when the oldies cover band is playing. You will see the local sideshow spring into life. Twice I've witnessed a man in a suit sitting at the bar, drunk off his ass, play an air guitar for all it was worth. I've watched another inebriated gentleman dance across the stage by himself while a friend video'd it with a smart phone.

First, Tobin below is an Idiot; go back to Hell's Kitchen, NY nitwit. Second, the food and service here are DIVINE. Wife and I have enjoyed it many times now. If you want to spend a little extra for a great, quiet date-nite... THIS IS THE PLACE!

My husband and I just had dinner at Cutillo's last Saturday evening. We recently moved to the Upper Pottsgrove area and are finding it very difficult to find privately owned restaurants (instead of low end chains - Chili's, Appleby's, etc.) that have good food. We sat at a table on the first level outside the bar area. Our service was very good and with the exception of the sauce that accompanied the calamari - we were very pleased with the food. My husband thought the prime rib was a little too fatty, even for the cut, but enjoyed it anyway. I had the Chicken Caprese, which was very tasty, but I ran out of room, having had the stuffed mushrooms and side Caesar salad beforehand. Would definitely go again. Keith, our server, was very warm and professional.

So we have gone by this place a number of times after living in limerick and Collegeville for 7 years and it's almost ALWAYS crowded on the weekends and a respectable crowd during the week... yet when you look at yelp reviews they are awful so I figured that the place had a certain following but otherwise wasn't all that great... well tonight we went for the first time and.... it's officially our new place..... food - outstanding!.... service excellent!.... ambience! maybe it's just the holiday season but they had a harpist! a live harpist! and they had her on speaker so we got to hear her music throughout the entire restaurant! and the place is huge!!! like banquet style huge and it's filled! we went at 5 and it was populated but by 7 it was busy... we are making a reservation for xmas eve... hope that beautiful harpist is there, it was so nice to hear her music... the tree was beautiful too don't listen to yelp! trust the cars in the parking lot! it's good!!! it's very high class too, I felt under dressed when I saw some of the surroundings... I think because it's in pottstown people assume the worst....people who like this place don't take the time to post a review... i'm a newb and just sharing my confusion and positive outcome!

Place looks nice. I was with a party of 6. The order took a while to give. It took over an hour to get food. Unfortunately 4 other parties came and left before the food came out. Not sure that I will return. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

This place does not offer service, quality or an experience worthy of the jacked-up food prices. I've eaten there a few times and it was solidly mediocre, but the last time I went there, I had a reservation but was made to wait at the entrance for 25 minutes to be seated, and when we finally were seated, it was at a two-top in view of where we'd been waiting that had been clean and ready the whole time! After waiting 20 minutes more, we still didn't have our beers and couldn't find our server to let her know we had changed our minds about dining there, so we just walked out and never looked back. Maybe someday this place will be bought by someone who can whip it into shape, but until then I won't go near it.

We went here a while back and the view was beautiful and the service was great! A little in the pricey side but well worth it with the food! I would highly recommend this place!

It's a shame that this place is/was considered the best of the area. Bad food, dated decor, definitely not worth the money...any money.

Took four business associates to lunch. Place was almost empty Waited half hour for ice teas and soda. Another half hour for sandwiches and another round of sodas. I was considering going back for dinner, but I don't have a half a day to kill.

Tragedy! I'm starting to feel evil for the less-than-stellar reviews I've been positing. I sincerely do not go out of my way to be vindictive and will make a real effort in the future to call out the good experiences I've had instead of focusing on the negative. This, however, will not be one such. We've given this place 3 very sincere chances. It's local to where we live so it would make all the sense in the world that we'd want it to work for us. Additionally, it tends to look like it's doing a thriving business so we kept checking ourselves thinking we had an anomaly experience and it really was good. But tonight was strike three and we definitely won't be going back. There was no singular thing that I can pin my gripe on -- just a whole lot of little things that add up to a literal bad taste in one's mouth. But highlights: Warm caesar salad with wilted greens and flacid crutons clearly made at least several hours in advance (even though the restaurant was not so busy that they would need to do this.) A "martini" list that had every friggin' type of flavored VODKA but not a single gin. A general note: a martini is -- by strictest definition in the goddam dictionary -- gin and dry vermouth. If contemporary trend has raped it of this title and wants to classify anything dumped into a martini glass as a martini, then have at. But *PLEASE* respect your elders and include the gin martini on the list. Chicken saltimbocca that somehow managed to be both bland and salty at the same time (served, incidentally, with a veggie medley that looked like it had been imported special from the Bob Evans "oriental stir fry" menu. One of the highlights at Cutillo's might be the dinner rolls they put out but -- even at the height of the dinner hour -- I was advised that they were done with em' for the night because there weren't many people eating. All of this might be understandable or even excusable, except that the night before I was eating at a GOOD Italian joint called Nizza in Hell's Kitchen, NYC, and was able to walk away having had an infinitely better meal and paid less for it (look for the Nizza review next -- it'll prove that I'm capable of being complimentary.) I should mention the bar might be one of the saving graces, with a clearly dedicated and insular group of regulars clinging to the periphery like it was an overturned life raft. I *think* the manager was among them -- or at least it was someone who looked more officious than the rest. But the 15 foot trek to our table to check on us was evidently beyond the call of duty and she contented herself with the occasional indifferent glance. I think that's about all I can say. For the price, one is better off going elsewhere and unfortunately one feels that even Olive Garden might be a better bet. Oh - I don't think it's exactly a coincidence that this will be only the second Yelp review posted; one has the distinct feeling that the restaurant -- its decor, the menu and many of the regulars -- ceased evolving around the time of the Commodore 64. This place CAN boast beautiful tree-lined views of a river, with natural atrium lighting and skylights, but the pine plank woodwork, pleather bar chairs and canopy of spider plants makes it look like a hang out that would make Jack, Janet and Chrissy from Three's Company proud.

The decor is dated but the food is always great and service fabulous! The place is also a cool piece of history and they also have great jazz to be heard on weekends!

Cutillo's used to state on their website "Fine Dining with A View". That has changed to "Relaxed Dining with a View". There is only one similarity in both statements; the words "with a view". This restaurant is neither relaxed or fine. And dining is also quite questionable. And funny enough, what the "f" is the "view" of? Ridge Pike? Dumba**'es. This one will make my "Avoid At All Costs" list. Like other reviewers on this site and others, Cutillo's used to be the toast of the town. In this area, it was really the only choice until of late. Now Paul and John are asleep at the wheel. For starters, the restaurant is drifting into the "old, dated and dirty" category. I won't go too much into the food, simply because there is very little that would be considered appealing. All the food tastes the same. From flat and bland, to downright distasteful. I guarantee that NO ONE IN THE KITCHEN IS TASTING THE FOOD BEFORE IT'S PLATED. And if they are, their taste buds are done. If any of the food is actually fresh, the kitchen is killing it. Otherwise, this smacks of the typical frozen/canned kitchen. But what is worse by far is the service. Especially at the bar. Extremely long wait times and either indifferent or downright rude service staff. Expect long waits for even a beer, let alone a mixed drink. It's no wonder why most of the patrons are on social security. They've probably been there since the 70's waiting for a drink. I no longer frequent this establishment. I gave up. I have made suggestions to the staff every time I was there. Clearly that goes no where. Now I'm done. My girlfriend's sister used their catering service (a delivery only) for a party. This was a last minute and hesitant decision based on previous history. After repeated calls, they showed up over an hour late. On the final call to the manager, she (Maryanne?) agreed, after her sisters complaint, to refund her the full amount she had spent (several hundred dollars). By the way, most of the food was not touched as we had already eaten at that point. Clearly, they had forgotten her order due to lack of organization. About a week later, she emailed the manager who then gave her a hard time about discounting or crediting the food she ordered. The manager claimed they had agreed on a restaurant certificate or a 40% cash/credit card discount on the food she had ordered. After about a month of no refunds or response from management she told the manager,"I just want a refund because I don't think I'll ever do business with you again." Instead of trying to win the customer back from their admitted f-up, the manger proceeded to rescind the refund/credit that was offered stating, "well if you're not going to use us, why should I take care of you?" My girlfriend's sister became so infuriated that she gave up completely with no discount or compensation for their screw-up. I am paraphrasing, but I stand firmly behind this accounting of her story. This demonstrates the immaturity of the staff and management and is beyond belief, but true. It is sad. It was once a great restaurant. It is now, in my opinion, one of the worst in Pottstown or for that matter ANYWHERE. As an alternate, I would suggest the Turkey Hill right down the street. If you need a table and want personal service, go to Fairways or Craft Ale House on Ridge Pike. IF YOU ENJOYED MY REVIEW, PLEASE RATE IT AND SEND ME A COMMENT!

Horrible food and horrible service. Only the "townies" go there. Over-priced and no view- if they call a washed up creek and a busy street a "view".
