The food is solid, though some dishes are a lot better than others, and the prices are extremely competitive. My girlfriend and I have been coming here frequently for the past 2+ years, and I can probably count on one hand the number of times we've spent over $20 on the check, and we always leave stuffed and satisfied. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and we've never once had a bad experience or seen someone be rude, and that includes the time period before I would have considered us "regulars." It seems like some people leaving previous reviews were turned off by other patrons, which is a shame, but I've never found anything to really complain about here, least of all the friendliness of the staff. It's a tiny little place with not a lot of bells and whistles, but you get a good meal and a lot of food for better than average prices. The service is quick, genuinely friendly and accommodating. There are plenty of other options for our business, but we keep coming back here, for what it's worth. I'd suggest giving it a shot and forming your own opinion.

Tried to go here on a weekend morning, and it was packed (sign of a good diner? maybe, never got the chance to find out), but due to rude customers in the front foyer, we left. We had a "regular" snapping at us for not realizing their "system" is to not have a hostess take names as people arrive and seat accordingly, but rather let it be a clusterf-ck of disorder, as people huddle cramped into the foyer. It seems like it's a "good ol' boys" club, and if you're not a regular, you'll get sub par treatment. Don't plan on giving them a second chance. It'd be a shame if this business lost a customer based on a rude customer who happened to be standing out front, but I can see I am not the only one who got the impression this place caters mainly to their regulars, to the detriment of newcomers... so, forget it.

The food is only surpassed by the service. That's a talk task too. I've only had great experiences here.

This place is horrible, the service is questionable and the quality of food is horrendous. The waitress stopped in the middle of taking our order to chat with a "regular" and cash them out. They put a slice of Swiss cheese on my grilled chicken salad and insult to injury the lettuce was brown and wilted. YUCK!!!!!

Food was good and prices were reasonable! Hash browns were like McDonald's. Omelette's were just the right size.

This is our stand-by weekend breakfast place. It's so close, I can roll out of bed, roll into the car and into the restaurant, eat and then reverse. Have had no problems with rude service whether the waitress was young, old or in between. The place is always at capacity so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table. Have never been disappointed with the food.

Our family has frequented Coventry Cafe for years, spending several hundred dollars per year here. We never walked away saying, "Wow, that was amazing" but the prices are reasonable, most of the waitresses are quite friendly (and my husband overtips accordingly) and it's close to our house. Well, today was our last visit. We ordered our breakfast, received our drinks (coffee), and then our meal. I immediately noticed and commented that they had put bacon on my plate, which I had not ordered and was not included with my "Country-Style Eggs" order. I am not a bacon-lover, but was pleased with the "bonus" and planned to give it to my husband and son. However, the waitress informed me that I could not keep it, as it was given in error. I asked what they were going to do with it, wondering if they planned to give it to another customer. No, she said, they would throw it away. I was incredulous. They would throw away perfectly good food (okay, slightly overdone, but still) instead of letting a customer enjoy a little bonus? Seriously? The waitress confirmed with the owners/cooks that that was indeed what must happen, unless I agreed to pay for it. She returned to our table, USING HER BARE HANDS removed the bacon from my plate, SEPARATING it from the melted cheese from my eggs with hands. This was wrong on so many levels, I don't know where to begin. How small-minded. Cheap. Tacky. Short-sighted. Unhygienic. Ungrateful to your customers. I went to the breakfast counter, caught the eye of Cindy, one of the owners, and she came out and talked to me. She was nice, and tried to shift the blame to the waitress, saying that she was overly dramatic about it, putting it in the garbage, etc., and saying it was because the ticket was mis-read by the husband (he mistakenly saw "bacon" where it clearly said "Cinn raisin"- I saw it with my own eyes). Still, the husband had given the edict to remove food from a customer's plate and have it thrown out. I told Cindy we have spent so much money there (we have a large family- so our tickets can get high when we're all there!) and that it was an awful policy for a business to have. Never before in my life have I heard of a restaurant doing such a thing! She DID offer to make a replacement order of bacon, to her credit (which is why I gave this review two stars instead of one), but I asked instead that to rectify the situation they would NEVER do that to a customer again. My husband gave the waitress one last good tip, but from now on, we'll just go to the German restaurant down the street (The Schnitzel House) for breakfast, where they make delicious food and the Romanian owners practically kiss our feet. They're a little more expensive, but have much more class. Oh, one more thing- when I was talking to the owner, Cindy, her husband couldn't even look at me. Hopefully that means he was ashamed of his cheapness and will change how he does business.

Great little Diner, fast and clean. It is small inside but the food is worth it. The menu listed on Yelp is only a small part of there menu, they have more then listed. They run Daily Special, they don't take credit cards, but they do have an ATM to use. They close one month a year during the Summer for vacation.

They have decent food for decent prices. I LOVE their cream chipped beef! It is a typical diner like food place but very very small. Their lunch isn't bad, but I prefer to go for breakfast. I have never been dissapointed with their food, but have been dissapointed with their service. The younger waitresses have always been really nice but there is one waitress there who is a bit older and to put it nicely... she is ALWAYS on her broom stick. I avoid her as much as possible and unfortunately even though they have good food sometomes I avoid going here on weekends becasue of the service. They only have a few waitresses on at once and I dont like to take the chance of having the unpleasant ones.

Great breakfast food at reasonable prices. They don't take credit cards, so make sure to grab cash before you have to hit up the "extra surcharge" ATM in the lobby. It's very small, so it's normally loud, but they get you in and out quickly.

Sometimes rude service, depending on the staff that day. Average fare. My wife used to take people from work there for breakfast. They have a decent cheese omlet. A number of times she has been treated rudely and served after "regulars" that came in later than she did. One server is pretty hostile, and since my wife is a very kind, forgiving individual, it took a number of years of this behaviour to get her to decide to not take russian roulette style chances with the staff. Only two of the servers are like this, but there are usually only three on duty at one time! I guess the owners don't notice, since they are usually dealing with the regular crowd at the counter. If you aren't a regular after years of frequenting a business, you might as well go elswhere for average food.

This place is great for a weekend breakfast. They have a good selection of food for just about any palate. I have eaten here for breakfast about a dozen times over the last year and a half. The wait staff is fairly friendly, most seem to have been there for years and rarely miss an opportunity to make sure a patron has a good eating experience. One thing to remember: Always hit the ATM before heading there since they only take cash. There are about 10-12 tables and about 10 stools at the counter. At some points in the morning on the weekend you may have to wait for a few minutes since it does have a good turn-out on those mornings. Other than that this is a place worth checking out if you don't feel like making your own breakfast. They do also serve lunch. Closed on Mondays... That's about all I can remember for now...

This is my favorite breakfast place in the area. Of course, it probably helps that I live right down the street from it. I think the hostile waitress is just part of its charm. We did get pretty mad one day when she took our ketchup to give to someone else before we had a chance to use it. But now we just joke about it every time we go there. Make sure to guard your ketchup! Also, it's very reasonably priced. We always spend about $12 + tip for 2 people!
