I just want to say that on behalf of the valet staff for Pineville tavern, the reason there is valet parking at this restaurant is because the lot could not fit the capacity of the restaurant. It isn't to "spruce" up the place or try to come off as a high-end joint. The employees are forced to park on lot taking up about 20 or so spots. We (the valet team) park 5 cars to every 4 spots and even with that we end up double parking about 10-15 cars before the lot re-clears and spaces become available. We enable the restaurant to do more business. It pains me to read the negative comments about the valet staff by individuals that don't understand our purpose there. Don't let these yelp comments fool you we are appreciated and understood by the overwhelming majority of folks who visit.

I've been here many times through the years and remember when it was much better years ago...That being said, it's not bad today, i just recall the steak being better in the past. As for Burgers, this place rocks!!! Really everything on the menu is good, and i don;t think anything will let you down. The staff are really nice and many have worked here for years which is a good sign. I prefer the middle room, or the original dining room, it's quiant country and really pleasent, has european flare to it:)) The beer selection here is great and the bar is friendly, and so glad it's non smoking...Thank you for that.!!!! I don't care for the valet parking.... and feel like it's overkill, this place is what it is and it's all the better for that. The Pineville is totally worth a stop !!

Was better at a time...it's still a stand by and I like cretin things, but as they've grown they've gotten lazy. The Guy thing is a crack up...I hate turtle soup and...ravioli? Good grief! Burgers and steaks and bar food are great, but ravioli?

After all the hype I've read from the Bucks County Food Blog and praise from Guy on DD&D we figured that we had to try this gem in our back yard. Wow, what a total disappointment. The imposed valet parking should have been my clue to go away. Pineville has a large, private parking lot, do they really need to valet? Sure it's "free" but forces a tip & I know I can park my own car; the 16y/o taking it from me? I'd rather not find out. We did get seated immediately on a Friday night in their intimately sized dining room. The hardwood floors and plaster walls do cause quite a din, making it difficult to have a conversation with my wife who sat across the table from me. My wife ordered the "famous" snapper soup and special handmade crab raviolis. I had just the handmade cheese raviolis (the ones featured on DD&D). The soup was just boring. No body, no amazing flavor, just initial hints of all spice and chewy turtle meat. Raviolis come out quickly. Too quickly since we had not finished the soup or salads (simple side salads that are included with the meal and are served on too small of a plate). I am not a fan of crab, so I didn't taste her food, but she loves crab....most of the raviolis are now in a take home box and will find their way into our garbage later today. My cheese raviolis looked promising, with a bright red, fresh tomato sauce and a sprinkling of fresh parsley. But once I tasted them? They were really just not impressive at all. The cheese filling had a distinct brininess to them and a very grainy texture. The pasta was too thin and also flavorless. We definitely will not be going back if their two signature dishes (raviolis and snapper soup) are that sub-par.

Allow me to recap my history with the Pineville Tavern... At one time my family and I would come here somewhat regularly. The food was altogether pleasant and I would generally recommend it to anyone who asked. I'm sad to say the Pineville Tavern is on the decline. I can't quite put my finger on the underlying problem. I can't help but wonder if its the increasing popularity received from their appearance on the Food Network. I generally get the feeling the staff is inexperienced and overwhelmed therefore not able to keep up with what is demanded of them. On my last visit: - The wait staff seemed inexperienced, mixing up all of our orders and drinks. When asked to fix the mistakes we were given a slightly snobby vibe as if we were inconveniencing them and being difficult. - My caesar salad had gritty lettuce that hadn't been washed and was slightly brown on the tips. Whoever made the salad tried to cover it up by drizzling dressing on top of it. - The food portions were inadequate and the raviolis I ordered were subpar. Also please note: - Pineville does not take reservations. - Pineville has a password protected wifi that is not intended to be used by its customers - I asked my server for the password and she declined. -Pineville Best Nights: Wed, Thu, Sat are not true. Waited an hour on non crowded Wednesday night. So with that said, would I recommend the Pineville to a friend or family member? Most likely not. Will I go back? No.

After seeing the Pineville Tavern on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself has a comfortable decor (as long as you're not bothered by the deer and other dead animal heads mounted to the walls). We stopped in for lunch and ordered a PVT Turkey club and a pizza. The service was good and the staff were very friendly. The pizza was made with what seemed like a pre-made crust. It was soggy and had too much cheese. We've had frozen heat at home pizzas that were better. The old saying that even bad pizza is still pizza did not hold true here. The club was very disappointing. The bacon was severely undercooked, to the point where I was concerned about health risks. The rest of the sandwich was just ok. There was lots of turkey on it but the lettuce was not crisp and the tomatoes were not great - could have been riper. Prices were a bit on the high side too. Sadly, this is not a place I'd recommend. We chose 2 pretty simple dishes and they were both bad.

Overpriced & AWFUL! New & naive customers paying for Divers Drive Ins & Dives Renovation. What a disappointment! Everything was awful; the snapper soup had too many cloves (ugh, imagine Christmas spices on steroids, barely edible!), the salads were meager and boring, even with the barely lukewarm tasteless grilled chicken, the homemade raviolis should have been a highlight except for the tasteless bland generic commercial tomato sauce (this was in early August - wtf, what happened to summer PA or Jersey local tomatoes????). And just to add insult to injury, the waitress was WT and horrible, barely apologizing for "forgetting" to place an appetizer order (we weren't charged for it) but so non-chalant about it, as if it were our fault for asking for it. Maybe it was; wish we had known better than to come here in the first place!

Friendly neighborhood place known for its pasta, meatballs, and snapper soup. Cheers like atmosphere where you can chat with your neighbors at the bar. During the summer, enjoy Freddies Tomatoes, locally grown tomatoes with onion and blue cheese and a light wine vinegar. Place loses points for the teens that require you to valet park on the weekends. Enjoy their new patio in back while the weather is still nice.

Our group of 4 ate here on a Saturday in October 2013. The place was quite crowded at 5:00pm, but we called ahead for seating and had zero wait, which was awesome. The place is very large inside and could use a little remodeling (especially the very dimly lit smaller-than-a-breadbox ladies bathroom at the front of the place) but it did have a certain rustic charm that I enjoyed. They also have ample outdoor patio seating - which I'm sure would be quite lovely in warmer weather. Started off with the French onion soup, which was probably the best I've ever eaten ANYWHERE, and the buffalo chicken eggrolls were homemade and to-die-for. For dinner I had the homemade cheese ravioli - the ravioli were very tasty, but I think their sauce could use a little work. Hubby had the veal parm, which was average. We sampled our friends' plates - baby back ribs and chicken cordon bleu - both were exceptional. While there we took notice of some of the plates being served at other tables nearby - and when we go back I'll definitely be trying their prime rib (it was nearly bigger than the dinner plate) and the burgers also look incredible.

If you appreciate food preparation... this is your place. Between the snapper soup and raviolis, you can taste that it's all made from scratch. The main star reduction has to do with the prices not proportionate to portion sizes. Not a deal breaker but this won't be cheap to eat at either. Pineville Tavern is easy to find: It's on the main drag along PA 413/Durham Road about 10 minutes north of the Newtown Bypass... not too far from I-95. I wish i could give them 3.5 stars but since I can't, they are staying at 3 stars.

I have been yearning to try this place for months now. I used to pass it all the time on my way to work but never stopped in as it was under construction for some time. After hearing about it on DDD, I started following them a little closer and couldn't wait to try their food. Finally, the day arrived that my husband and I could try out Pineville Tavern. We started off with the an order of the cheesesteak egg rolls and an order of the Buffalo chicken egg rolls. Both of them were AMAZING and kept me craving more. I wanted to get another round of them, but convinced myself that I should try some of the other staples, so then I moved onto the Snapper Soup since that was what was featured on DDD. It kind of reminded me of a pumpkin soup. It's certainly different, but I wasn't able to finish it...just not up my alley. Next, we moved onto the Handmade ravioli with an order of garlic bread. I liked the garlic bread but was not crazy about the ravioli. Overall, the ravioli just didn't have much flavor and the tomato sauce was on the watery side. I would probably return to Pinevile for drinks (they have a great selection), egg rolls, and possibly to try out their brunch because I really wanted to love this place.

Not as good as expected. I had to try the Turtle soup because of the Food Network show on the Tavern. The soup was too salty to taste any other ingredients. We ordered the Ravioli, they were OK but not great. My husband ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and that was good, but my Eggplant Parmesan sandwich was very plain. Dessert was apple pie, again, not so great. Not worth the trip.

Actually, we would give this place 4 1/2 stars. While they weren't dog friendly, which was disappointing, they were friendly and as accommodating as they could be with our pet situation (being from out of town and having our dog with us). Food was delicious and the staff was great!

On a recent Satutday night I went to Pineville tavern for dinner with some friends. I am a local and go there often. On my last visit I came accross the most unfrienly and least helpful hostess I have ever run accross. I was told her name is Bria. If she is the hostess when you go, run as quickly as you can to the other host stand (at the opposite end of the restaurant) and look for Sharon. She is everything Bria is not and should be.

My sister and her family live in the area and have been going here for years. Finally had a chance to hit this yesterday for lunch. tomato crab bisque - delicious, and perfect for a windy, rainy day. crab cake sandwich - lot of crab, not much breading, classic presentation. cheese steak - succulent. price - very reasonable. This is what you wish your "local" was like. Warm atmosphere, classic setting. Quite a find.

Use to be very good but they lost their way with all of the silly remodeling. They now over charge for everything. Btw, bring back the "big buck hunter" game. Who cares what the Newtown crowd says!

See our review - and the people behind the Pineville - on our blog (see profile for address). Here's an excerpt: When you walk into the Pineville Tavern , a couple of things hit you right off the bat. It's warm. Everyone - staff and customers - seem to be in a good mood. There's a buzz of people enjoying themselves. And it feels like it's been this way forever. In fact, the Pineville Tavern has been around since 1742 (see its Web site for more history). It sits at the intersection of Route 413, and Pineville and Township Line Roads, straddling two townships, Buckingham and Wrightstown, in central Bucks County. Like a lot of good things, what seems natural and effortless has a lot of intention and hard work behind it. As regulars at the Pineville, or PVT, we were curious as to how the staff was doing it and what got them there. To find that out, you have to go to Andrew Abruzzese, owner of the PVT for the last twenty years. It was our pleasure - Andrew is a wonderful storyteller - to sit down with him and his son, Drew Abruzzese to talk about their history and their future...

Drove a long detour to get to this place during our return trip from our food crawl to NYC. Don't waste the time and drive. It's not bad but nothing special and certainly not worth the trip. The turtle soup was OK and the we've had better ravioli. The rest of the dishes we had were typical tavern food. Nothing special.

I've been to this place 75-100 times.. The good: a tavern with above avg bar food, a good beer selection, and an interior with some character. The money they recently put into the place has spruced up the joint and the patio out back is a great place to have lunch when it's nice outside The bad: due to the tv exposure this place got on "diners, drive ins and dives", there's 45 min waits for tables on fri nites and valet parking on weekends. It's a tavern folks. I shouldn't have to valet my car and wait 45 min for a table at a spot where I'm gonna order a buffalo chicken sandwich and pitcher of beer. Valet parking and buffalo chicken should not mix! In summary, the bar food is good, the crab cakes are solid, and they do a good job with the ravioli.. That being said, I long for the days you could roll up in this place at 7pm, park your own damn car, and have a beer and a couple apps in front of you by 7:15. Save the valet parking, and the waiting for a table at the bar, for the forays into the city at one of dem fancy joints.

I used to love PVT prior to its expansion with the take-out addition. It was a place where my partner and I stopped while on motorcycle rides in the area, and due to its biker-friendly feel and overall coziness, it was "our place" during late-spring and summer months. The last time we visited (post-expansion) was our last. We went on a Friday night and were met with valet parking. Valet at PVT? Fortunately we were on a motorcycle so we were able to bypass the valet parking, but if you came via a four-wheeled vehicle, it didn't appear as though you could do that. We were seated at an extremely tiny table in a corner at the threshold between the bar area and the dining area. On our way to the table we both noticed the beer selections on the board and were excited about a particular one that was listed. We ordered said beer and were told they didn't have any and they just "forgot to change the board." Ok, so we ordered different beers and the PVT crisis was seemingly averted. I ordered a pasta dish that was made with a cream sauce, prosciutto, and peas. The prosciutto was more like boiled deli ham than a dry cured Italian meat. My partner ordered the linguine and red clam sauce, which is a shockingly small portion for a whopping $16.95. Our waitress was one of the absolute worst I'd ever experienced. When she actually remembered we were one of her tables, she was just half-assing all her work, like bringing bread with butter and failing to realize or even care that there were no knives on the table for a good ten minutes after we received the bread. After our food seemed to take a lot longer than everyone else's to come out, we realized she had just never put in the order, which was pretty obvious when the "oh sh*t" look spread across her face the one time she decided to actually check on us. The table was consistently cluttered throughout the night because of her inattentive serving style, and the entire experience was just annoying. It's sad. Gone was the biker-friendly PVT and here was the new overpriced PVT that seemed to be going for an upscale vibe complete with extremely overpriced pasta dishes and valet parking. So now we travel a couple of miles down the road and attempt to recapture that cozy "our place" feeling at the Candlewyck Beef & Ale since PVT is no longer worthy of it.

We live about 10 minutes away and have been wanting to go here for years. We finally got a babysitter and headed up 413. We were very excited to experience PVT, my wife had been looking at the menu online all week. We got there at 7:30 on a Saturday night and it was packed, which is to be expected. However, the free valet parking made our arrival super easy. We waited about 30 mins in the bar area for our table. Once we got our seat, our waitress, who was new, but awesome, took our order and delivered our food quickly. I had the pasta bolognese with broccoli and cheddar soup. Also had the wings, which were pretty big. Service was quick and friendly, atmosphere was casual. Food was superb, we'll be coming back over and over.

Arrived early on a Saturday evening and chose to eat at the bar, mainly because I didn't want to use the mandatory valet parking which is enforced for the dining room on the weekend. Service at the bar was pleasant but slow until I placed my order. Once my order was placed food came in short order. Had an appetizer, house made cheesesteak egg rolls, which were very tasty and seemed fresh. The bartender also did a very good of refilling my coke without asking. My entree was a half portion of prosciutto, peas and cream over penne pasta. This was tasty though I could easily prepare the same dish at home with minimal effort. I am certainly glad I got the half portion as it was alot of food. Overall this was a good dining experience. I recommend the egg rolls to anyone that would like to try something a little different.

Completely lives up to the hype. Raviolis are good and the meatballs are better. Pasta with cream and prosciutto was just that...cream, prosciutto and delicious. Old tavern with a new addition in the back . Looks like they are adding additional outdoor seating for the summer.

Why eat at a tourist trap and pay to park in New Hope when you can drive the extra few miles to Pineville Tavern. Saw this on Food Channel's, Diners Drive Ins & Dives. Great place to eat. Quick & polite service and the food is excellent. The cheesesteak egg rolls app are a must.

Food was good. Ordered take out. I got the ravs since that is what guy from Diners Drive Ins and Dives ordered. I also got the snapper soup. Not enough meat and had way too much nutmeg in it for me but it was ok. Ravs didn't have enough sauce and the bread was missing. I don't think I will be going back. Not to mention it was very pricey and small portions.

All good. The fact that you may have to wait on a friday or saturday night tells you something. The specials are very good, and I feel better than the regular menu, not that the regular menu is lacking. I remember once getting a ravioli dish-some kinda chi-chi filling, and not getting very many of 'em, but, hey, that was a long time ago. Whatever I order I am always happy with here. I have not had any problems with the staff. Great casual tavern atmosphere, I feel at home in casual or more dressed up. I prefer sitting in back when I am just dining, it gets kinda noisy up front where the bar is located.

My boyfriend and I decided to try the restaurant after seeing it on the show Dives, Drives, and Diners, and the Tortuga soup and homemade ravioli was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere was calm and made me feel like I was back in the Midwest. I would definitely go back to this restaurant just for these two dishes alone.

We had a group of friends for a special birthday-table for 10. They don't take reservations, so my husband and I got there early (and brought a cake for the celebration). We handed the cake, in the bakery box, to the host as we arrived. We were there early enough to speak to our waitress and describe the birthday person. The waitress agreed that she would bring out the cake out once the table was cleared. Our friends arrived and we had a nice meal--food was quite good. As the dining room began to fill up, our service slowed considerably. The table was cleared and we waited, and waited. Eventually, the waitress came out with the cake, still in the closed bakery box! She stood there while we all stared at her. The surprise was a complete flop. We wound up taking the box from her, sang Happy Birthday to our less-than-surprised friend....opend the box, asked for a knife and began to serve ourselves. I know we will all laugh about this eventually, but I'm confused that the waitress thought this was a good idea. I think this is a place that can serve good food to small groups of people, with NO added finesse. I wouldn't plan a special occasion here again that's for sure. If you want classy, fine-dining--you'd better keep looking.

the huge outdoor dining area was lovely on a sunday evening. i love it when romaine is grilled in a caesar salad. i got an order of steamers as well. the flavor was wonderful but there were a handful of clams that were a bit gritty. the service was great. all in all it was a nice experience, except... i HAD to try the snapper soup, if only because guy fieri was here highlighting the house specialty. i was underwhelmed at best. maybe it's because i was trying a hearty stew in summer. maybe it just wasn't a good batch. snapper has the consistency of a leather boot. also, it tasted like beef stew thrown in a blender with pumpkin pie. the spices overwhelmed the entire dish. maybe that's the point though? i can't imagine snapper turtle having a nice flavor on its own. in conclusion, guy fieri is a liar and the snapper soup is not THE dish to get here. not quite sure what THE dish is but everybody else at the table was pleased with their meals - probably because they skipped the leather boot soup.

We went back to have the homemade ravioli and I'm so glad we did. It was wonderful and will go again. We tried their rice pudding... very good but a bit dry. Having said that, I will order it again. We won't go Friday or Saturday because of the valet parking. The wait staff are friendly and we love the homey atmosphere.

OK, I am not a picky person, nor do I often complain about anything, but my last experience at the PVT was absolutely ridiculous. Got there at about 7:45 last Friday, absolutely packed. No worries, that's expected from a place with good food. Went to the bar to wait for our table....waited and waited to be served and finally politely asked if we could put our drink order in...."Yep" as she walked away. She returned later with a "Hurry it the hell up guy" attitude. We got our drinks and were promptly seated in a neat little back room. Our server was great; she was very nice and attentive. Our meals were great, and the service during dinner was excellent. After dinner we decided to have a drink before we left, especially since the bar had slowed down (this was around 945). After being ignored again by the terrible bartenders, I again asked politely if we can put a drink order in when you get a moment. Her response was as follows "You look a little red in the face, are you sure you haven't had enough already?" First off, I had 2 beers at this point, secondly, I have rosecea. I mean, come ON, REALLY? We are just trying to spend money here and have a nice time. After confronting her and explaining that I was fine, and that her comment was pretty rude, we got our drinks. With our backs turned to the bar, I turned around to place my beer on the bar, and noticed there was a half drank beer placed right where we had been putting our drinks down. In the beer, appeared to be 3 nice mounds of mucus right on the surface. I look up and 2 bartenders and someone from the kitchen are looking right at me. Yep, pretty sure they hocked a "loogie" in a beer hoping one of us would drink it. People kept popping out of the kitchen and looking in our direction........I literally could not believe what was going on. Mind you, I was really polite to these young ladies the entire time. After inspecting the glass I placed it back on the bar and it was promptly retrieved and thrown away, which is a weird thing to do to a half-drank beer.......right? hmmmmmmm....admission of guilt? Let me say that we have been coming to the PVT occasionally during the week since we moved to the area and it has been nothing but a really great time. The food is always good, and the service has been awesome, especially from Sue the bartender, she's the best! Thus the reason we keep going back. However, the bar staff on the weekends is rude, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. We brought 3 of our friends for the first time on this visit; they are surely never coming back. I am a believer in being polite and make sure to say "Please" and "Thank you" whenever possible. This evening was no exception, yet there was still no reciprocity. Dear weekend bartenders at the PVT, you are in the service industry, act like it. You are letting your customers down at every turn of the bend. If you are nice to people, you will be amazed how that will be returned in form of kindness and tips (go figure). I think this is the first review I've posted on Yelp, not because I haven't had bad service or food before, but I've never been treated this badly. I read a lot of reviews on here, and I have to admit, some are way "over critical". However, I hope the owners read this review and it serves as a wakeup call. You need better bar staff.

I visited Pineville Tavern for the first time today, after sightseeing at Washington Crossing Park and shopping at Peddlers Village. The valet parking service was convenient. The hostess was not very welcoming, but the waitresses were friendly. We ordered the french onion soup, ravioli with marinara sause, and pasta bolognese. The french onion soup was very good. It had a nice spicy flavor. The main entrees were annoyingly delivered before we had a chance to finish our soup. My ravioli was okay. I like my meals delivered off the stove hot, but my entree was just warm. The pasta was fresh and the marinara sauce was just okay. My wife's pasta bolognese was also okay. However, our entire dinner experience was ruined when my wife found two small, hard, and sharp pieces of clear plastic in her pasta bolognese. The pasta bolognese was removed from our check and the waitress offered to provide my wife with a complimentary dessert. We passed on the dessert and quickly left this restaurant. We will not be returning.

My girlfriend and I were driving around (semi-lost) after leaving New Hope and happened on this very nice road house. If you move past the smoke-filled bar area, the seating and atmosphere in the non-smoking back rooms is very nice, laid back and comfortable. My crab cakes were excellent and the service was efficient and friendly. The prices were a good value for this really nice find.

Food is good but have to say entered the new entrance and was hit with a not so plenty smell. It reminded me of the nursing home I hope I'm never in. Maybe bathrooms are not put in the best location. Go in the old way and ask to be seated by this bar, you'll have a better dining experience.

After seeing this restaurant on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, my wife and I decided to make a road trip. I tried the snapper soup and ravioli. The snapper soup was outstanding and the ravioli was out of this world. This was the best ravioli, including the marinara sauce, that I have ever had. I tried a bite of my wife's onion soup which was pretty amazing, as well. For an appetizer, we ordered the buffalo chicken egg rolls...yummy! We will definitely be stopping back again when I'm in the New Hope area.

we have driven by this place numerous times (established 1743...I think) and always wanted to check it out. After a hike, 3 pm Sunday, we had a buffalo chicken sandwich and 1/2 portion of penne with peas, prosciutto and cream. Service was quick, chicken was tasty and spicy, pasta was good. Need to go back when boygriend can try a brew and we can check out the creme brulle.

The best "tavern" in Bucks County. The recent expansion of the parking lot is indicative of the popularity amongst the locals. Menu is sizable and blackboard specials always fresh and servers are family friendly and efficient. Ask for seating in the back in the original rustic room with the enormous fireplace. One word of advice, this is truly a historic place as might be the wiring. Never dine at the Pineville in a rainstorm. Odds are the place loses power, kitchen closes and candles are lit. Our family is 3 for 4, so we no longer go when raining. Local lore blames it on the Ghost of the Pineville Tavern, as written in " bucks county ghost stories" by Charles J. Adams III.

I wanted to visit PVT for lunch because of the DD&D's praises. I was very disappointed right from the beginning. There is no handicap rant that leads to the front door so, I had to physically help my Mom up the slanted steps then go back and, carry up her walker. The hostess was like the walking dead. She didn't even welcome us , just asked "2" ? Then lead us to a two top table against the wall of a tiny dingy dinning room. I know it's Bucks County and, home of the Revolution but, you don't have the leave the walls & doors in the original paint. Spruce up a bit !!! The floors were also dirty. There was no music and, you could hear everybody's conversations, it was very awkward and, not a festive atmosphere. The hostess did give up menus but, we never, never saw a server for 20 minutes. They would come into the room with their eyes fixed on one table ....zoom to that table and, leave. When one server came in and, attended a couple that came in after us, we finally got up and, left. At that time we discovered the ramp was attached to the bar entrance. Who wants to schlep through a busy bar with someone who is handicapped? The prices where outrageous !!! Looks like being on TV went to their heads and, they have forgotten how to be a neighborhood jewel.

Food was very good. The wait staff is very young and they have to hustle with little to no direction from the managers, so service can be spotty. It's mostly Italian fare but high quality.

The snapper soup had to be the best I've ever had. Huge chunks of meat and a lot of them, that you actually have to chew, rather than slivers of meat here and there. Also bought a quart to bring home! Excellent. The ravioli are like little clouds containing cheese in the center. The sauce they come with has a nice acidity and just a hint of sweetness. I do think the sauce is missing something but overall it's a wonderful dish. Rice pudding for dessert. I could eat that over and over. It wasn't a homogenous rice pudding like a prepackaged one. Which I really enjoyed. It was homemade, and made with love. There were big chunks of rice stuck together in places, there were little pieces of rice and some areas that were creamy and very nicely sweet! It's an hour from where we live, but we'll be back!

My mom loves this place for their raviolis, NY Strips, and crab cakes. I have always thought this place was so-so. Very limited menu for vegetarians. The new renovations look great and really opened the place up, however the menu lacks in my opinion. Also, the mandatory valet parking is extremely annoying for such a small lot. It doesn't make any sense? It's an old restaurant in the middle of farms with a small parking lot right behind it? There is absolutely no reason for valet. Not to mention, MANDATORY valet. My boyfriend requested to park himself and was told "the owner won't let anyone park themselves". We went tonight and my meal was inedible. I ordered the Spaghetti and clams in a white sauce. There was absolutely no flavor at all. No salt, butter, lemon or white wine. It tasted as it was just sitting in hot water. I added salt and lemon from the table (I asked for extra lemon slices), but the pasta wasn't cooked properly. I am a huge carb lover, and have never everrrrrrr left a plate of pasta behind for any reason. I can eat it undercooked, overlooked, hot, cold and plain. But I literally couldn't eat this spaghetti. It was a weird combination between gummy and pasty, like it just sat on warm water for awhile rather than boil. I left behind 90 percent of the plate. I want to like the Pineville Tavern. I really do. I just can't get myself to. For a restaurant that's less than 2 minutes away from where we live, I doubt I'll return and definitely don't recommend. I give 3 stars for the ambiance.

I've been here many times over the past 6 or so years and more often than not, left satisfied. While I think the new additions add additional seating and modernized the restaurant a bit, I don't know that it really made a huge positive change. It was quite obvious it all happened after Diner's, Drive-in's and Dives stopped by for an episode. I've had quite a few things on the menu, I always go for one of the specialty egg rolls like the cheesesteak or buffalo chicken. Wasn't really wowed by the ravioli (watery) or the pizza (thick, bread like dough, almost no sauce) but any of the sandwiches are good. I don't like the valet parking situation. The last time I stopped in there was literally no parking left for those who didn't want to pay to park in an already small parking lot. I don't get it...what made this place so great was the vintage bar up front, the small quaintness to it, like you were part of a hometown gem. Now it feels too business. Sometimes I just wish places would remain how they were, that's really what got this place it's name, not a television show.

Advisory- BRING CASH... Because there is a chance your credit card will be compromised!!! I went to the Pineville on May 3rd and paid with my credit card which did go through as a transaction and then 2 days later May 5th, I was notified by my credit card company that another separate charge was attempted and declined because they did not have the (CID) security code. Because of this action my credit card company advised me to cancel the card and re-issue (and of course, all of my other accounts tied to this card would need to be re-established). Keep in mind that despite numerous attempts (3 phone calls) to have someone (the owner/managers) to explain why this happened, they replied "they were too busy, took my phone number and simply did not return my calls or inquiries" SO my personal take away here is ......I cant trust the operation and they pbviously dont care about these types of (compromising) events.

Came here last night for the Luger Steak for two people. The first time I had it, it was delicious and memorable and actually the reason I returned last night. However, they must have had someone new in the kitchen because the steak, which we requested at medium temp, arrived to the table well done and chewy. It was actually difficult to cut through with the steak knife and swallowing the dry meat was a challenge. Making matters worse were the side dishes to accompany the meat. Choices included three varieties of frozen french fries and onion rings, the vegetable of the day (4 spears of asparagus), and other forms of potato. Ate three bites, no box needed. When the server came to collect the plates, she didn't gather that there was a problem, instead she said "my dog will be very happy tonight!" Hope her dog has some sharp canines to get through that "meal."

Not sure why this place only has 3 stars. We live in the area and go here regularly. It was reccommnded by another local. Last time my girlfriend and I split the fried chicken and it was awesome. We were sitting at the bar and the owner (1 of 2 brothers) and he was really nice.

I can only give this two stars, not because of the food. But simply because of everything that it's not anymore when I would have easily given it a five.

I'm uncertain if I will ever be in Pineville again. But if I am, I will most certainly stop at the Tavern. Three stars for food and another star for the friendly service. My son and I were in the area having visited a friend who had a rare bird on his property. Having seen the bird, we felt treats were in order. Chicken and fries for the boy. A bacon burger and a cold beer for me. Only downside was my rare burger came out medium. However, it was still good, the boy loved his meal, the tavern felt and looked historic and all was right with the world. Quick odd story. While leaving the restroom, a patron fell flat on his face behind me. His buddy and I helped him up and they left. Whoever you are, I hope you're ok. You looked really out of it, man. Hope to visit again one of these years.

We have been going to the Pineville Tavern for years - my husband, many years. The special was Fried chicken on our last visit. My husband asked, "May I choose which pieces I would like?" in a nice, mannerly way. Our waitress stared indignantly and declared "You may NOT!" "Could I at least say that I want dark meat?" asked my husband politely. "You may NOT!" and away she sped with our order. We had our meal. The special Fried Chicken consisted of one white breast and a side dish. I cannot remember what I ordered. The point is, at most places like Popeyes, or Kentucky Fried, or any other place where you are getting fried chicken, they will let you say what kind you want. Especially if you want dark meat. Cause most people want white meat. So - that was our bad day at the Pineville.

Headed here with my mother after a long morning of shopping! Surprised by the size of the parking lot! We were in on a Tuesday around lunch time. The outdoor seating area was very beautiful- we loved the pig statue. The fountain was a nice touch, and there was some really beautiful benches and a low table carved out of old wood. Clearly marked waiting areas let you know that a host would be out to seat you if headed outside. We headed up the steps to sit inside (it was a hot one!). Inside, the host allowed us to take a look at the menu before deciding whether to stay or not (we were on a budget). We were very surprised that the prices were very reasonable, especially since the atmosphere was that of a more expensive meal. We were seated way in the back, which is actually the front of the building. There was a very nice bar, and neat decorations. We did notice that the floor was very uneven at one point headed in, which was a problem for a large group of senior citizens who were seated in the same room as us. Our waitress (who was also the bartender, and food runner?) was polite, but everything seemed like it was taking forever. I was hoping for a quick lunch, but it was a long time between each order. We received our waters quick, but then ordering the food took a long time, then getting the food took a long time, then having out plates taken away took a long time, then catching the waitress to ask for a dessert menu took a long time, etc. I realize she was the only one there, but it really did take away from our experience. We had the Tomato Crab Bisque, which was AMAZING. The half sandwich that came with it was just average. The whole meal was $6 per person, a great deal. That soup, though. I'd order that again in a heartbeat. We split a piece of chocolate cake, which was very good! Cocktails ranged from 8 - 10.

Our bad experience started when we tried to make reservations and they wouldn't take any. So we went anyway and did not have to wait! The host was a young man of little manners and experience in hosting. Our waitress was rude as well as the manager when we tried to complain about the fact that two of the items on the menu we wanted were not available. Also there is wifi there that says pineville inn, but is not available to customers! Completely unacceptable!

The outdoor patio seating is really quite nice since the renovations in the past decade. The service is excellent, I have never felt rushed. We eat here often, at least once per month. The food is creative with the spin on the egg rolls and the sandwiches are the same over the years very consistent in how they are made. The raviolis are excellent and the beer selection never fails. My two children and my wife all love going here. We recently took my father and while he was resistant to sit outside he called me after and said how nice that was as the sun set around us and we enjoyed each other's company as a family and had good food and drink.

We ate here for an early Sunday dinner. I was just okay. My mom and I shared two of the specials. The first filet with goat cheese. First one came out well we ordered med they brought another. My mom said it was fine. I didn't love it. We also got a chicken special. That's was good. Sides were average. Won't return.

I generally enjoy our meals at the PVT...pastas, soups, burgers, daily specials, etc. are usually pretty good. Service is also very friendly and prompt. Everything you could ask for in this type of restaurant. But, not wanting to deal with the restaurant after a long drive back into town, I ordered spaghetti and meatballs to go. This was a second attempt at takeout, and concluded 'never again'. How can a simple meal be so different between in restaurant dining and take out. The food was cold, the pasta dry and flavorless. Where was the marinara sauce? (And I usually like the sauce, but there was only enough to color the pasta). You can't exactly ask for more sauce once you get home...the majority of our meal ended up in the trash. Unfortunately, we have scratched this off our to-go list. Fortunately, we are looking forward to our next in-restaurant visit.

Surprised and then amused to be met at the door by a blond hostess who was ice cold and barely civil, exuding an absurd amount of attitude. Although I'd heard Tavern has been given an attractive makeover, we were seated in a brightly lit and charmless dining area. However, the waitress provided friendly service, and the quality of the tavern fare was quite good. There is an expanded dinner menu which we thought of trying another time, but the overall experience left us in no rush to return.

I get take out from PVT any time I'm in the area and also get a tub or two of the meatballs to take home. I highly recommend the lasagna, cheesesteak or buffalo chicken egg rolls. Don't forget the meatballs and ravioli for the freezer! We had the PVT cater a birthday party for 2 of our kids birthdays in September and everyone loved the food. We picked the food trays at the restaurant and warmed them at home prior to the party. The staff is always courteous and helpful when you enter the restaurant or takeout area.

The cheesesteak eggrolls are delicious! I think a lot of this place depends on where you are seated. The service has always been top notch; sometimes the wait can be a bit much. They also have a nice patio open for lunch and dinner.

The Pineville Tavern is worth a try just for the historic structure and ambiance in the older rooms. Someone once said you can't eat the atmosphere, but here it is possible to almost taste it. The institution is worthy of respect. The latest changes have been both good and bad. Read the other reviews to understand the complaints and disappointments. For me, this place has always been about beer, wings, burgers, and rice puddling. The other stuff designed to attract a wider audience may not float everyone's boat. Stick with what they do best, and you will leave happy and full.

They will not a take reservation for more than 20 minutes ahead. So we called showed up and waited for 45 minutes. Not enough space to right how disappointing this experience was. Forgotten drinks forgotten food. Waitress ignored us. I had to get up and ask for refills and the proper food that was ordered. Burgers and filet mignon were burnt. Will not come back. A very sub par dinning experience. Rushed out by staff.

went there on 1/3/15, Ate at table #108. I had their famous Snapper soup. It was the consistency of wet concrete, the vegetables were uncooked and the soup was cold. The crab cake risotto was cold, the crab cake? was mixed into the risotto and it was not possible to tell the difference between the risotto and the crab cake due to the lack of taste and lack of texture. There were 3 peas and had no sundried tomatoes. My husband had the Citrus Scallops, they were cold and grossly overcooked. The coleslaw was served in a miniature plastic cup and the zucchini fries were cold and the coating was tough. I was highly disappointed with the entire meal. The service was spotty. The waitress was pleasant but the service was spotty. We had to ask for the check twice and had to wait to pay the check as well. Bad experience.

I really enjoy the food at Pineville. They have generous portions and it's delicious. Their sweet potato fries are delicious. My boyfriend loves the buffalo chicken egg rolls. I do wish they had more salads. They had one salad as a special last year with pecans and blue cheese or feta cheese, and it was delicious! I wish that was offered all the time. Overall, the food and service are great! Wait time is pretty long on Friday & Saturday nights. I'm only giving PVT 4 stars because I think the valet parking is a waste or time. I could walk to my car quicker than they can run to drive it up to us. Especially when it's cold outside. I understand WHY they do it, but I don't like it. Also, the last time we were there, the front hostess area was in disarray. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. The young girl who was there told me it was a 30 minute wait and I said ok, and she took our name, and then when I went back to double check that she took our name ... it wasn't on there. thanks! BUT, it won't deter me.

Always a good stop......service is always good.....the help has been around for several years......the food is good and not expensive considering the area.....nice place for a night out. I always enjoy the snapper soup and rice pudding to go. The specials ate on the blackboard and they are always a good choice.

Very nice rustic atmosphere. I ordered the beef ravioli and my friend ordered the spinach ravioli. They were both delicious. Our server told us that on some occasions, they have crab ravioli. I can't wait to try the crab ravioli during my next visit to the Pineville Tavern.

I've lived 5 minuets from this restaurant most of my life so I've been going here for awhile. Personally , years ago I would have given this place 4 stars but ever since the renovations and it being on diners, drive-ins and dives ( which it didn't deserve to be on) I think quality has gone down , which you would think would be the opposite. They spent way to much time on their renovations and not on the food quality and service. The food is standard bar food and I wouldn't say it goes past that, it's not bad, but for the outrageous prices you pay here you would expect 5 star food. Mostly when I've gone I have sat at the bar so I can't speak for the wait staff but there are a few bartenders who have clearly worked there way too long and just don't care anymore. With the publick house now open only 3 minuets down the street I think Pineville is, and will be, losing a lot of service To them. Their pricing is way more reasonable and the atmosphere is incredibly better. Tho Pineville offers a fine dinning area along with a bar atmosphere , as I've said, the prices aren't worth it and the food just isn't good. The only reason I ever return is because I love their homemade Italian dressing and for where I live it's convenient takeout.

Just left - we did not even order. Hostess barely acknowledged us. She couldn't seem to summon the kindness to reply to our friendly "Hello!" Tables and menus were greasy and sticky. We became nauseated and left. On the way out we decided to hit a BYOB instead and went in to the Pineville Tavern's take out section where we were greeted with a great friendly welcome and smile. THAT was a great experience. Wonder if the management is the same?

Pretty empty during lunch during the week. But, that just meant better service I guess. We started with beers and the wait staff was great about making sure we had refills when the time was appropriate. Philly cheesesteak eggroll...so good!!! a definite must have. You get three eggrolls cut in half. A great appetizer to share. I had a burger and had nothing to complain about, very well cooked. Others had the pasta, sloppy joe, sandwich. Everyone loved the food. They renovated and from what people were saying, for the better. The outside seating looks great to return to when the weather gets warmer.

Food here is excellent. Snapper soup is a must have, and the prime rib is out of this world. My experience with service has been hit or miss. On one visit our waitress literally disappeared after taking our order. Food and drinks were delivered by 2 or 3 other folks for the remainder of the meal. Some of the tables in the dining room can be VERY tight on space. Sitting and eating at the bar has been a great experience if you can find a seat. Also I do wish they would not make the valet parking mandatory on Fri and Sat nights.

  • Allison S.

I don't understand how a hostess can give a 30min wait when there are open tables that are "being held" but aren't filled within 20min. One thing to blame the kitchen, but this was a quiet night. Food doesn't make up for this, and nothing will dull the sound of the hostess' shrill voice. When outdoor eating is available it's better, but not worth it in the winter. Homemade ravioli is the only thing worth getting here, everything else is normal bar fare. Don't waste your time.

Just had a very mediocre experience at Pineville Tavern. While the snapper soup was good, everything else was very mediocre. I was there with 3 other people, and no one was satisfied. We got a range of things: pizza, steak, chicken parm and a melt. Pretty disappointing, and to top it off our waiter was incredibly inattentive.

I'm a local and I've been going here for a long time. Things have changed since the old days. Quality home cooked food has pretty much turned into yuppy fare. Ok food. They do carry craft beer which is a positive, but they limit strong beers to two a patron. Are you kidding me? I can order multiple cocktails over an evening of dining and hanging out but can't get another stout? LOL, that's ridiculous. Ownership needs to get a grip.

Just had drinks with my wife. Service was ok. Bar and dining are isn't the cleanest....smelled a little but not overbearing. The price of drinks is ridiculous! Had one and then drove to the Pineville for the rest of the evening.

The Pineville Tavern has changed hands several time over the past 35 years. In its current incarnation (apparently since 1989 - dayamn I am shoing my age), the food is much improved and it is more of a "real" restaurant - or perhaps a "Gastropub" than a bar. You can still get sandwiches and burgers and brews, but now you get get real meals as well. Sit in the back and it feels less like a bar (the bar's out front.) Update: Oh - and no, I had no idea when I wrote this review that Pineville tavern was gonna be on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives tomorrow night! ACK! I bet they'll get real busy!

Cute place, good service. Our burgers were good, but could have been awesome if they weren't well done, but cooked medium rare like we asked. This was my first time there, and being in this business for a long time, I understand there are off days. We will give it another shot sometime.

Immediately I was struck by the back up of cars trying to get into the Pineville Tavern...the reason?! Valet. Is this a five-star, jacket only restaurant? Alas, no. The restaurant-imposed valet was a bit over the top and obnoxious. To add to this first impression was the headset-clad hostess calling another to check that there was room for us at the bar in the back. Next time I'll take the back bar entrance gladly. I believe most of this hoity toitiness comes from PT's cameo on Diners Driver-ins and Dives. Despite the addition, mural and the bells and whistles, take me to the original please. The bar was darker with an oval two-sided bar, the Phillies game on every TV in the room, maroon plastic tableclothed tables dotting the room, with specials on the chalkboard. Now this is my idea of a tavern. We ordered cheeseburgers, they were fresh perfectly cooked and had a great grill taste. I was very satiated. The salad with homemade ranch dressing hit the spot as well. If you choose to bear the valet, go straight to the bar entrance, that's the place to be.

I reserved writing a review until our second visit because I wanted to be fair and I'm glad I waited. Our first time at the Pineville Tavern was less than stellar. And, considering it was our first time and also my birthday, we were really disappointed. The manager was extremely apologetic, removed most of the items off our bill and gave us a gift certificate for a future visit. All I will say is that I was given BAD fish...TWICE! Our second visit was a success and we will be going back in the future. I had a great meal...an awesome cheeseburger and their equally awesome zucchini fries. My husband had the NY steak special with baked potato which he loved. The service is excellent and the staff is friendly. It's a lively (but not too loud) atmosphere.

We returned again early on a Monday evening for dinner. We were seated in the older dining room which has the most charm. As previously stated, the tables are extremely close together, and we noticed that the patrons were all seated at tables close to other occupied tables. Why? There were a number of empty tables that would have allowed a bit more privacy. We could hear every word at the next table. The man got the onion soup again, and said it was okay. Had better; had worse. Nothing spectacular. I had the house salad with the best blue cheese dressing ever! We both got one of the blackboard specials...the lasagna with one meatball at $ 16.95.It arrived before we were even half way through the soup/salad. The waiter apologized for that. It was good, but again not spectacular. The meatball was barely warm, but very large. No bread was served. A Captain Morgan and sprite was $6.50 for a highball glass. Domestic beer was $3.95 . Overall, we think the food was good, but nothing extraordinary. We felt crowded and rushed, and there were many open tables. This won't be one of our favorite destinations, although for drinks and a sandwich it may be okay!

Drove by this place for years, and never peeked inside. Until I noticed a big sign that they were remodeling and adding a patio. Finally, stopped in for a summer eve "catch up" with a girlfriend: they do have a very pleasant pebbled outdoor eating area: mission-style wood furniture and some umbrellas, along with a charming corner seating made of polished and lacquered wood trunks. The eating area is separated from the rear parking lot with a row of We came in for drinks and nibbles, but there was no seating outdoors. Thus, we elected to stick to beverages only, on the "log" furniture [quite comfy, actually], and had to fetch the drinks from the inside bar ourselves. I scanned the menu: it's primarily standard American fare, with options for vegetarians, pescetarians and carnivores. The prices appear on the high end of mid-range. The major down side is insufficient parking on pleasant days.

Went there last night. Very disappointing. I was instructed by the staff to call 20 minutes before arrival to get on the list. Called 20 minutes before for a party of 6 and they put me on the list, and said there were only 2 parties before me. So when we get there they said it was at least a 40 minute wait and there were now 7 parties before us. So what was the point of phoning ahead?Food mediocre at best! Won't go back!

I saw many mixed reviews but went last night w my son. Had a great time. I loved the atmosphere, the staff was very friendly, beer was cold and the food was pretty good. It is not gourmet but it was great bar food. I will definitely come back to try their entrees.

I love the vibe. This is an old farmhouse that has been a pub for the longest time. Over the recent years the back of the house has been turned into a pretty hip dining area - complete with a second bar. The menu is complete, with steaks, chicken, pasta, soups, salads and apps. The food is decent to good. They do not take reservations so on a Friday or Saturday you should come ready to wait a few minutes...You can however eat at the front bar. With good food and a neat vibe, I'll make my way back to the Pineville again soon.

We've been coming here on and off for over 30 years, experiencing its many ups and downs. In the past, the ups were when the owner concentrated on the place; the downs were when he'd obtained another food establishment and ignored the Pineville while he focused on that new business. Not long back, there was a long stretch when it was quite good and co-owned by Roger, who was also their main chef and damned good. It got plenty of buzz, and was highly publicized just as it was set to go downhill after Roger sold out his share and a new generation took the helm. Nature abhors a vacuum, so this summer a competitor, the Publick House, opened 1.2 miles away off Township Line Road in the village of Wycombe. It got off to a rocky start, but quickly shifted gears and now appears to be doing what the Pineville Tavern used to do in its heyday. No silly valet parking, either. Given its visible location and past publicity, the Pineville can probably continue to thrive off passers-by and the like pretty much no matter what. Still, hopefully it will eventually return to doing what it long did best: offering honest good food, properly served, in a convivial environment. Until then, there's a better option two klicks away.

This place is definitely one of my favorites to go after a day of walking around in New Hope or Peddlers Village. My family always had a tradition of going to get our Christmas tree near Peddler Village and then stopping at Pineville Tavern for dinner. Like everyone said here, the atmosphere is warm and casual. I usually go with the "steak and cake" which is a filet mignon and a crab cake. Highly recommend their crab cakes!

We got here at about 2:30. So a late Saturday lunch. We got the ravioli and the pasta with cream sauce and prosciutto and peas. Service was excellent, I got the snapper soup which I enjoyed. Portions were large, clean and friendly atmosphere. Very nice.

Like most people, my girlfriend and I decided to give PVT a try after seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. We were fairly disappointed and certainly not impressed by any means. First and foremost, the valet parking is silly and completely unnecessary. I was a little annoyed that I had to let a valet park my car in a spot that was literally right next to the valet stand. When we asked the hostess for a table outside, we were told that there was a 20-minute wait. There were 3 or 4 open tables, and since PVT doesn't take reservations, I'm not entirely sure why they made us wait for a table. The service was simply average. Not fantastic, not bad... just okay. The food was a big disappointment. I tried the snapper soup and the raviolis; the soup was pretty good, but the raviolis were mediocre at best, and the "full" size portion was anything but large. Had I not had the soup and some wings I would have left hungry. My girlfriend got the "cheese" steak - I say "cheese" because there was so little of it that you had to pick through the meat to find even a hint of it. When she sent it back to get more, the same sandwich came back with two small piece of half-melted sliced cheese. We got wings for an appetizer that were, however, very good. Overall, PVT was a pretty disappointing experience. From what I can tell, the only thing keeping PVT afloat in the land of mediocre restaurants is an old client base that isn't aware of any other places in Bucks County to eat.

So anyone who knows Guy Fieri, knows that he goes over the top, when he really likes something. If he thinks that something is lousy, he talks makes comments like, "you can really taste the cumin". His PVT spot was laced with ho-hum jibber jabber. Bottom line: it is just not that good. I agree with reviewers that mention the recent decline. Maybe the hype has elevated the expectations beyond what it is. A decent spot for some bar food and a beer. And I agree about the service. It a mix of unprofessional twenty year olds, and rude crusty townies.
