Had a recent visit here for the wife's birthday dinner. We were seated immediately and taken care of thoroughly throughout our dinner. We ordered a bunch of apps and entrees to share. The Asian Cafe roll is awesome, always my fav. We also had Kung pao chicken (a+), chicken and broccoli (b), spicy crunchy tuna roll (b), steamed veg dumplings (a+), seaweed salad (a+). I love this place, my wife loves this place, most importantly my kids love this place!!!

I live super close so this place has a great convenient factor, and I can say that I've never had a bad experience here. I've only ever order take out so I can't comment on their dine in. I love their sushi and the food is good quality (no fatty, oddly colored, or super greasy meals). The only reason I wouldn't rate them higher is they are definitely overpriced and for some reason they give you smallest portion of rice ever! Like you order a full quart of food and they give you maybe a half of cup of rice?! Come on now it's RICE - it's not going to break the bank to be a little more generous...but seriously good sushi so give them a try.

This food has the potential to be great but it lacks seasoning. I've eaten here three times now and every item I've ordered consistently lacks seasoning. If it weren't for fish sauce, the meal would've been as bland as a bowl of steamed rice. I can tell the flavors are nice but they're muted as well. And despite asking for my thai dishes to be spicy, they're always so mild that I don't get any heat at all.

Having recently moved to Phoenixville from Mass, one of the first things my husband and I sought to achieve, was finding the best Chinese restaurant around. This quest seemed to be futile, after trying 4 different local restaurants and only finding disappointment. It seemed the only way to get decent Chinese food was to travel back to Mass and mass consume (hehe). But after being away from home for an extended period, the Chinese cravings started...and we had to try one last place. We ordered online (awesome service) and tried a little bit of everything. Chicken noodle soup, house salad, crab rangoons, egg rolls, Hunan Beef, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Veg Lo Mein, and Plain Fried Rice. The soup was bland, kinda like diluted chicken bouillon but other wise okay. The salad was delightful, crisp, fresh, innovative, a great buy. Crab Rangoons were more in the vein of Thai style than Chinese, which is fine, they were little and amazingly fresh and a must have. My husband had the Pork Egg Roll and thoroughly enjoyed, I had the Shrimp and thought it was okay, I might try the Pork next time. The Hunan Beef, while indicating spicy, was kind of bland. The meet was tender and tasty and the vegetables crisp and yummy but that sauce was missing something...I reheated the left overs with extra soy sauce and crushed red pepper and found it amazing. Hubby loved the sweet and sour chicken, no complaints. The veg lo main to me was lacking some umami as well. It was good reheated with the Hunan Beef and my adjustments. Plain Fried rice is not what we thought it would be, back home the default fried rice is pork fried so we assumed since there was no option for pork fried that plain must be the same thing...so not the same thing. It was basically just white rice fried with soy sauce. Will not buy again, our own fault. Over all we are excited for future purchases and being sushi fans are intrigued about $1 sushi Wednesdays. I definitely think we have found our substitute Chinese Restaurant.

Stick to the sushi and you'll be fine. I didn't, and a lot of my meal went straight to the garbage: Thai calamari - a great concept, crispy fried calamari with sweet Thai chili sauce. When I opened the take-out container, I thought I had onion rings - never have I seen such huge rings of calamari. The Thai chili sauce container had leaked, but there wasn't much to begin with, or so I thought. The calamari was tough and super-greasy. One ring and threw out the rest. When I pulled out the General Tso's chicken, I realized why there wasn't much chili sauce - everything in the bag was coated with it. I kept the bag upright all the way home, so this must have happened when they packed the take-out order ... and they didn't notice? The chicken was an odd consistency - not pieces of chicken but maybe ground up and reformed. Sauce was OK, broccoli was tough and old. Over half joined the calamari in the garbage. The spring roll, although tiny, was good. The miso soup was odd, and most went down the drain. I was really surprised at the poor quality of the hot food here, as I've had the sushi here on several occasions and it was fine - not great, but fine, hence the 3 stars.

I highly recommend the vegetarian sushi platter. Apply wasabi & soy sauce to taste. One of my favorites.

Food is just okay. Slightly better than takeout and the sushi rolls are decent. The seafood s pretty fresh and the rice isn't hard. Try the Sakura and sweetie rolls. But the duck? Um, I'd rather drive to Chinatown in my SUV and pay the outrageous gas price.

Some of the finest beef negamaki that I've ever had, anywhere! Everything on the menu, from the bistro duck, to the Thai entrees and appetizers has been great so far except that the green tea ice cream was suffering from freezer burn. Check out the online-ordering option; it is one of the better ones I have seen on a restaurant website. Do eat in their dining room, since the staff is friendly and helpful, and you'll see those "punky punkin" walls for yourself! (I wish they were closer to home.)

I've eaten here a few times, for lunch and for dinner and the food here is just simply delicious. I've had their rolls, which are always fresh and tasty. They have an avocado and peanut roll that I have started to crave. Once I start thinking about it, I have to go there and get it. It's a texture thing. I've had their Thai noodles and rice dishes and everything is equally fresh, flavorful, not greasy, and just right heat-wise. This is a BYOB but there is a wine store next door. The restaurant is located in a strip mall (you're in the suburbs, get over it), but it doesn't feel like a strip mall. The pumpkin walls and dark furniture give it a hip, more urban feel. There is a sushi bar if you feel the urge. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. It's the best Asian in the area, I think. The only drawback is, like many suburban places, they close early, so if you have California friends who are used to going out at 9pm for dinner, you have to eat and run. We have closed the place down more than once and the staff were more than gracious about it.

I went back -- if you call getting sushi takeout going back. I hate to say that my original review stands. Second time around my sushi was kinda smushy, kinda flavorless and not entirely unlike grocery-store sushi. Perhaps the rest of menu rocks? I don't know. My kid's beef & broccoli was good before, so maybe it's just the sushi that's soul-crushingly disappointing? To me, this place is like a Katherine Heigl movie -- everyone else seems to think it's awesome but I just walk away thinking, "I paid money for that?"

I've only had the sushi here. The sushi is not bad. Pretty fresh, the nigri is on the small side. The special rolls are pretty typical of all the super americanized rolls that you see everywhere now. However what brings me back is the dollar sushi night which is on Weds. Almost all of the nigri is a dollar each so we load up on that and have a gut busting meal. For sushi on the non dollar night, it is just "ok" for the price and quality of the food. But for dollar sushi? It is awesome! The sushi is still decent and then the price more than makes up for it any deficiencies in quality.

I've been to Asia café about 15 times, for lunch, and tried out quite a few things on the menu. On average, the food is good. The duck noodle is good but rather expensive compared to what you would get downtown Philly. The sushi spider roll is good. The beef teriyaki is also good. The calamari is something I wouldn't try again. On average, the food is on the sweet side so take that into consideration if you are diabetic. I will continue to have my lunch there occasionally. I'll definitely get the spider roll and the teriyaki again.

I love it, the food is always fresh, and the staff is super nice and attentive.

Good sushi and chinese food. However, way too expensive. There is no combination platters like other chinese restaurants. For instance, you cannot get a fried rice and entree combination. You must order both for over 10 dollars. That's way too much for one person.

My wife and I eat at the Asian Cafe monthly and we're always impressed. Keep up the good work!

FINALLY!!! We've lived in Phoenixville for 4 years now and had yet to find a place with good Chinese food. We were looking to order tonight, but were fed up with the places that we've tried in the past and looked online for somewhere new. I came across Asian Cafe and so we decided to try it. I can finally say that we have awesome Asian style food in the area!! The online ordering service made it very simple to place our order and every dish that we got was the best I've had in a long time. The Sesame Chicken had a great flavor and wasn't the overly-breaded chewy dark chicken that we've become accustomed to. Also, I tried Shrimp Mei Fun for the first time and was so glad I did!! We will happily be ordering from Asian Cafe going forward. Thank you for bringing quality Chinese food to the area!!

We've eaten here many many times and I'm finally gotten around to writing this. This place is the best Asian restaurant in the Phoenixville area. First let me explain I DO NOT eat Sushi, I would sooner lick a ddoor knob than eat raw fish. I stick to the Chinese side of the menu. I have had Hot & Sour, Wonton, Chicken & rice soups; Teriyaki chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Beef w/broccoli, Beef w/garlic, Mango Shrimp (my favorite) and many more. Their lunch specials (11-3) are a REAL bargain. Make sure you order hot tea, it is made with real loose tea in a cast iron tea pot. The staff (the owners?) are VERY friendly and gracious. I'll go back again and again.

I really dig this restaurant! Most of what I have had there is really good, only exception was their calamari. I usually get the chicken satay! It is REALLY good - yum! They are always very friendly, they deliver, and food always seems fresh.

My most favorite sushi restaurant in the area!! Everyone is So nice and the food is amazing!!

I ordered Chicken Pad Thai for pick-up = $10.50. There was a lot of food, but not a lot of flavor to be honest. I expect more for those prices. That being said, the service was friendly and like I said the portions were enough for dinner and lunch the next day. I probably still wouldn't order from this restaurant again though.

Do a lot of take out from this place. Food is always fresh and the sauces are very good. Freid rice, thai calamari are two favorites.

This has to be the blandest Asian food I have ever eaten! Like eating spicy cardboard!

We got delivery, so there's only so much to be expected from the food. Some friends and I ordered sesame chicken, crab rangoon coconut soup, Thai pineapple fried rice, and peanut chicken. The crab rangoon was delicious-- crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside and the sesame chicken was pretty solid as well. My friends were less impressed with the fried rice, soup and peanut chicken and ended up adding soy sauce and sriracha that we had in the house. Might be best to stick to staples when ordering? On the upshot though, the food was plentiful; ordering was easy and delivery was relatively quick.

Recently my wife and I got assorted veggie roll sampler and sweet potato roll! Absolutely delicious! Downside, cheap on the Wasabi and ginger. Like Arnold said, I'll be back.

This is by far the best Chinese place I've been to in my life! Quality food, good service, and great atmosphere! We keep coming back again and again :-) the price is a bit higher then other places in my opinion but you definitely get what you pay for!

My first time here for dinner. Had the Thai calimari and a Baja roll for appetizers, split with my wife. Calimari was chewy, as expected. Served with a slightly spicy sauce on the side. The Baja roll has a raw jalepeno, so there is no need for wasabi, unless you want extra spicy. My wife had the Bistro Duck, while I had the double delight scallops and shrimp with mango sauce. The latter is spicy, but not as hot as the Baja roll. Other than a flat diet coke (problem solved with new fountain CO2 canister), dinner was very nice. $60 plus $10 tip for dinner for two. I would dine here again.

The good: excellent, attentive service. The bad: sushi was just ok, and very limited selection. It gets good reviews, but seemingly more for the Chinese food, which we didn't try.

The owner and staff are incredibly friendly. The Tom Yum soup is completely wonderful. Decent price for decent sushi. Great laid back atmosphere and B.Y.O.B!

SO happy to finally find a good Chinese restaurant/delivery in the area. My husbands sushi was good, not excellent. Spicy tuna roll could have more crunchy. My Kung Pao chicken was excellent! The veggies were fresh and the sauce wonderfully seasoned. We will defiantly go back.

The Chinese food from this place just isn't very good. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and Hot & Sour soup. I dig spicy food so I requested that the Kung Pao be made extra spicy....and as far as I can tell, there is no chili pepper anywhere in this dish. It's not just a bland Kung Pao dish....it's bland food. There's no seasoning. This is the second time I've had a forgettable meal from this place, so I wont be ordering from here again.

Strike two. My last visits to Asian Cafe have been sub-par. First a flavorless roast duck noodle soup ("chicken" broth that tastes like water? And tough duck?), and now limp, uninspired, tasteless Lo Mein. I don't know what's changed in the kitchen, but there's no excuse for flavorless food.

I tried this place for the first time after reading all of the positive reviews. I ordered a chinese dish for delivery online (great feature!). They delivered within the hour and had decent portions. However, something that I ate must've been bad because I've spent the last few hours in my bathroom getting sick. With that being said, I will not be ordering from Asian Cafe again.

Delicious fresh Asian food. BYOB! Will return. This isn't your corner store Chinese place.
