So after waiting a few months, I decided to try WSP again. They now have pre-made "quarter" pies available to purchase, which solves my problem of having to wait for a pie to be made. I picked the plain cheese and a garden salad. Somehow it still took me longer than it should have to get checked out. Whoever they have running the register also needs to calm down a smidge because her over enthusiasm makes the check out process even slower. I sat down, with 15 minutes to eat, and I was still not that impressed. The crust was almost gritty, and burnt (I suppose from reheating it). The sauce and cheese were ok -- but couldn't save the mediocore crust. Their garden salad was downright miserable, a container full of greens and a few halved cherry tomatoes. I keep my 3 star review because for my pizza and a salad, it came in around 5 dollars and at least they had some pre-made ones ready for walk up customers. Still not great pizza, still a weird ordering process. I'll likely not try again.

Maybe the pizza is good here... but I can really only speak on the soup and salad. It could be the case that I'm the idiot who decides to get italian wedding soup at a pizza joint, but it was rancid :( I tried to get through eating it, but I just couldn't do it. I was too worried I would be sick afterwards. The salad was pretty overwhelming, too. I just wouldn't go back.

Ok, so I came back. I felt bad because I saw them on GrubHub which links to Yelp and it showed as poorly rated because of my review - their only review. I felt like it was unfair that their listing on GrubHub looked like that. Well, my second visit did not go well. Since it took so bloody long to get my pizza last time, I ordered ahead on Grub Hub at 12:15pm. I arrived at 12:35 and they hadn't even STARTED MAKING IT YET! I stood their and waited forever (like last time) for service. When I was acknowledged, the girl said "Oh yea!" and grabbed my order that had printed and handed it to the cook. Awesome. Now, I also ordered something slightly different. I ordered their three cheese pizza on Foccacia (they also offer gluten free.) This was my way of trying to write a well-rounded review AND possibly avoid burnt crust again. Did they remember to make my pizza on Foccacia? Of course not. The pizza wasn't that bad in the end except that they burnt the crust AGAIN. But, the overall experience was bad. I'd like to point out something else. This is located in the very popular Hyatt Bellevue Food Court which was and always is jam-packed. There was only one other customer while I was there. The other food shops had lines 5-7 people deep on average and there were barely any open tables. This says a lot. I definitely won't be back this time.

The pizza is okay. It's not bad. But I wouldn't seek it out unless I were nearby. The service is awful and convoluted. 1. They don't sell slices. Each pizza is ready made and either a half or whole pie. I'm not sure exactly the size difference, but basically a half is about what you'd get in about 2 slices at a normal pizza joint. The made-to-order aspect is nice, but slows things down. While already made slice pies are not as fresh, they are faster to prepare and sell. This is something 99% of pizza shops do and in a food court the current setup makes no sense. 2. The orders are processed as they are rung up. This wouldn't be a big deal if their point-of-sale device worked consistently. I watched today as it crashed 5 times before finally accepting a debit card. If you had one person take the order and then another process payment the whole ordeal would go faster. 3. Have people do one job and do it well. There are about 4-5 working and they all seem to be floaters. One second they are ringing up, the next making pizza. It makes no sense since everything bottlenecks at the register and the oven. Because there's only one of each. Without a dedicated person manning each station, a backlog builds up quickly. 4. The area to order is away from the "entrance." The aforementioned point-of-sale device is away from the main entrances (e.g. the stairway next to the car rental and the escalator in the middle of the food court) and to order you have to walk past the entrance to the pizza shop and past a greeter to the register. I hope that the owner(s) consider making some changes to the business. I doubt they will though as the restaurant has been open a month and not much has changed other than they are now selling things like hot dogs (?).

Walnut Street Pizza serves a very tasty high quality product but they are not gonna make it unless they change their business model. I understand that the business is new and I hope they read my review to fix the issues pronto so they can stay in business. The good: My 'half-pie portion margarita pizza" was tasty, made fresh with fresh ingredients and was a good value for what I spent. The half pie portion was actually a round pie about the size of a standard paper plate. Quite an ample sized portion for lunch. It was probably portioned a bit bigger than I really needed for lunch, but then again, so is everything else that is served in a fast(ish) food restaurant. The bad: 1- It was confusing where to order. After being a customer of Angelo's pizza for many years, the traffic flow was opposite that what I expected. Either reverse the flow or put up a giant arrow saying "order here." 2-Honey, its pizza in a Food Court. This Food Court is basically a cafeteria for people who work nearby or in the Bellevue or are maybe stopping in for a quick bite to eat. I want to order, pay and be served within a minute or two. I ordered my pie, waited around for the cashier to tap a sequence on big screen tv and swipe my debit card. I think I had to sign something? Then, I had to wait for the pie to be built, put in the oven and baked. Boring. 3-As I waited for my pie, I saw another worker standing around and smiling. She was standing in front of a display case with dozens of empty pizza boxes. I believe a better use of that display case (and the worker-bee) would be to display ready to eat portions of the food you are serving so that can be heated up in a minute in the pizza oven a foot away. It may not be a persons first choice, but if they are in a hurry, something looks good, they can grab it in a sec, then its a sale. Volume. You need to move pies quicker. In real estate, its "Location, Location, Location." In a food court, it's "Fast, Cheap, Good." 4-I asked for my pie to go. The "half-pie" was placed in a giant cardboard box. So unnecessary, wasteful and probably very costly to the business. The solution: Walnut Street Pizza needs to make use of that Food Court display case by having a dozen or so standard issue pies and a few specialty pies already baked. If a customer wants toppings, throw the toppings on the pre baked pie, and heat em up and move on. Also, for the "to go" customers, either put the pie in a much smaller box or upgrade the paper plates and put them in a nice bag. I assume this is a for-profit endeavor and you don't want you profits walking out in unnecessary packaging containing your lowest margin product. In closing: I liked the pizza, it tasted good, costs right and the people were nice. I really want them to make it, but the food/restaurant business is competitive. In the time I was there, I didnt see enough volume of customers for this place to pay the rent. They need to heavily focus on volume and the only way thats gonna happen is by having the food ready for the rush. Good Luck Walnut Street Pizza. I hope you make it. I will be back in a few weeks and see how things change and will update my review if I see an improvement.

I was at a conference in Philadelphia and was looking for a quick lunch. I saw the "Bellevue Gourmet Food Court" and Walnut Street Pizza looked like my best option. I was really impressed! for $3 and change you get half of a small pizza cut into 4 pieces. I got the Margherita and it was really good - the crust is thin and crispy but still a little chewy. Very good, I'd definitely go back.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
