This review is mostly for the service since I haven't had the cheese yet (other than the sample piece I tried). The guy behind the counter was both friendly and knowledgeable. The smell wafting from behind the counter was so good, I almost ordered a grilled cheese sandwich even though I had dinner plans coming up. I can't wait to try a sandwich next time.. and the white cheddar cheese curds waiting for me at home!

If you're a fan of cheese this is one of the best. After the friendly guy behind the counter offered us a buffet of mouth watering samples we couldn't leave without the Melter Skelter and it really was fantastic

Fantastic cheeses, with the health benefits of being made from raw milk. I'm with the other reviewer who raved about the Brielle Sandwich- wow! I don't remember seeing it on the menu, but you can have it made with gluten free bread, and it is really good gluten free bread. Except for the taller man behind the counter wearing a hat, who was rude and condescending on one visit, a great experience on the few times I've been there.

A little pricey but absolutely worth it considering the love and care that goes into their craft. Picked up some spicy salami and fresh mozzarella to make pizza at home tonight. Their mozzarella has an amazing, slightly chewy consistency and a nice bit of saltiness to it. Salami packs the right amount of punch. I might be in love.

Yumm!!!! In town for business and did lunch everyday at the RTM. Had great food - but this was the best lunch ever. There was 4 of us, so we tried 4 grilled cheese sandwiches. All were tasty - but everyone agreed - Melter Skelter was the best!

Having tried their cheeses before I am pumped to have a Philadelphia location to buy them at. In addition to making cheese on site, they sell spreads, yogurt, antipasti and assorted accoutrement's. The staff was very helpful and offered plenty of samples to help with decision making. They offer a variety of cheeses also not made on site. I am looking forward to trying them all.

One of the best shopping experiences I've had! The fromager was very helpful in helping us select cheeses, but did not pressure us at all! He let us try each one we picked and was super polite and friendly, even when we passed on a cheese we had sampled. We ended up with a few great ones, including Melter Skelter and Smokey Shepherd! Will definitely be back next time I'm at RTM!

Their freshmade mozzarella is incredible. It's unlike any cheese I've had before, and I'm quite a cheese lover! I think it gets better every day (we've had it since Thursday). The only reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars is because my fiancé thinks it's WAY too salty and won't eat it. For those of you who don't like salt, it may not be the best bet for you.

Stopped by on opening, large selection of cheese and very friendly service. Lots of samples. Loved the fresh made on site mozzarella. Bought several of the cheeses I sampled, and had a very tasty, but somewhat expensive grilled cheese sandwich. When you consider it was made by the same people who were selling the cheese maybe it's not so expensive. They also have a beautiful selection of quality olives and condiments to go with the cheese. Will go back to try some of the other lunch items such as the mac and cheese.

damn good locally made cheese from people who take pride in their business. Even the people working at the counter are genuinely enthusiastic and proud of their product. Most importantly they are knowledgable and friendly and will help you find the right cheese. My guests raved over the cheeses. While their cheese seem fantastic, I was disappointed with their butter. Fresh local butter usually makes me groan with happiness and theirs was just ok.

Had their classic grill cheese sandwich which everyone raves about. Now I know why! The grilled sandwich is made on a two sided grill like a pannie grill without the slots but smooth on both sides of the grill. Grilled to perfection. The sandwich is prepared with generous portions of delicious cheese on large pieces of white bread. Asked to add bacon on half the sandwich which they kindly did that made the sandwich even better in my opinion. They serve it with chips and package in and box designed for their sandwiches that makes it easy to carry out if needed. The portions or the sandwich is very generous. I can eat but I ended up giving about a quarter of it up to my lucky friend. For $6 and change it's a wonderful bargain and normal folks can split this meal in half. I'm a pig or I pride myself on being a good eater. It's located in the east center side of the market on the last aisle. Don't miss this place well worth it!

As I walk through the Valley of the Shepherd of Creamery.. All jokes aside, this place is great. I've been to the Reading Terminal Market dozens of times, but had yet to try VSC. Honestly, I usually get lost in the market, so I can't remember even seeing this place. And unless you've got olfactory senses of a bloodhound, the smells from here get mixed in with the thousands of others floating around. I was told about VSC by a fellow RT Market goer, and I decided that a grilled cheese would be a great Sunday afternoon trip back to one of my childhood classics. Except is wasn't... We got the Brielle, which is a generous helping of brie and cranberry jam spread between slices of toasted bread. But believe me, this description doesn't do our sensory overloads justice. Sweet and salty, bitey but pleasant, and a ton of other descriptors I'd need a thesaurus for. Assuming I can once again navigate my way through the maze that is Reading Terminal Market, I will be back. And oh yeah, would you like a side (top) serving of homemade dill chips? (rhetorical question; of course you do)

A very yummy grilled cheese! I got the Classic grilled cheese with tomato and roasted garlic. The sandwich was toasted just perfectly and the cheese was so good! However, I only gave them three stars because of the limited menu and I also think $10 is too much money for one grilled cheese sandwich.

Now and then, when my boyfriend and I are down to get some cheese, we always have to stop by this place! They're always incredibly helpful and ready to give some suggestions. I went there today because I wanted to get some cheese to use for mac and cheese, and I tried out some amazing ones. I left with three different cheeses and some proscuitto just because. If you're a cheese lover, this place is a must to check out!

The Brielle was delicious! Imagine creamy Brie,Cranberry jam on toasted bread. This place is located in the Reading Terminal Market & is so good. The employees there are also very nice and friendly especially when asking them about all the different kinds of cheeses they sell. There's not an actual seating area in front of this place but there are tons of tables and chairs in the food area in the middle of Reading Market.I wanted to eat another Brielle but I had to save room for dessert so I didn't but I'm definitely going back and getting another one before I head back to the airport.

Yum! What a gem. We stopped here for a mid-afternoon snack. Hubs and I split the Valley Thunder (cheeses, brisket, mac n cheese) with kettle chips. Amazing. Super creamy and perfectly grilled. All their cheese is homemade. I think I saw a self serve olive bar.

They have some pretty good cheeses, real gourmet. They also have a few specialty items. You can buy the cheese and do what you please with it, and it's pretty darn good on it's own. Or, you can have them whip you up a grilled cheese sandwich that will knock you off your socks. This not your mom and pops watery American cheese on white bread. This is the grilled cheese sandwich if you were to present it to a planet you just discovered. Yup, we're talking the best there is. When I am not buying someone else's bombtastic creation, I sometimes create my own thing. And, for the holidays, it's all about the mac and cheese. I've made a pretty good recipe for a few years, but never can find the truffle butter to take it over the top. Finally, I found it at Valley Shepherd Creamery. I have a feeling, this Christmas is going to be a mac and cheese for the ages, thank's to Valley Shepherd Creamery. I mean, it's not like they could go wrong.

Got some saffronella cheese and two of their prosciuttos, one beef and one pork. They let people taste a bite before making a decision which is always a plus. All of their cheeses are made by them at their farm in NJ and while the selection isn't that grand, quality is where its at here. And while the meats are imported, they're still a hard find. Lovely place indeed.

After seeing the blurb in the Inquirer about the fresh mozarella and reading about how MeltKraft makes their cheese right in the RTM, I knew I had to get some. I am so glad I did. I was in the RTM for a get together, and there it was - MeltKraft. I downed my Mat Hat Beer (probably too fast) and went to the counter so not to miss a sale. I was told the mozarella is made fresh several times a day, and mine that I purchased at the end of the workday was only 2 hours old. It had to be the best I've ever tasted. Got 2 lbs @ 8.99lb and my Superbowl appetizers will kick major ass.
