Amazing beer selection. Need a six pack? They got'em. Forty? Got'em. Whatever your night needs, Omega has. The craft beer selection would embarrass most bars. They have stuff from East Coast, West Coast, Belgium, Germany, etc etc... Very exciting. Beer is a bit pricey, but you can definitely afford the food. The pizza slices are enormous, some of the biggest in Philly, not quite NYC big, but up there. They do lots of specials too. Last one I had was a large pizza with chicken nuggets. Not bad for a pre-gaming meal. Recommend if you are in the area, but for food, not worth seeking out.

Listen, lets change the name of Omega to: Unemployed Hangover Pizza. I like the ring of it and I loove the way it feels in my belly.

Like what Jake said, Omega is a beer distributor disguised as a pizza joint. If Pa would get rid of some of its stupid liquor laws we wouldn't have to dance around the fact and could all just run into 7-11 to buy a six pack. But until it does, we will have to settle for these small pizza (beer) places. Come for the beer, stay for the pizza...or at least try it...its not too bad.

NO THANK YOU! The Pizza sucks. The rest of the food is Bla... The only reason to even step in this joint is the Beer selection.

This place is HILARIOUS. I have never seen such a yipster beer selection in a hole in the wall place--they've got all your beer snob beers in 6 packs. The pizza at 1.80 a slice is cheaper than most places in center city, but I'm not a fan of the thick spongy crust. It's 2 blocks from where I live though, so I am sure I'll roll there pretty often.

Good pizza and huge beer selection. You don't expect them to have Adventinus from the looks of the outside! Slices are huge and the orders are complete quickly. Their sausage are slices not grounds/crumbles which is a plus. Not very oily. Neighborhood go to spot

I was walking around Center City, and I came up on this place. People I know in this neighborhood say the pizza here is to die for, so I think "what the hell" and come in here and get 3 slices of pepperoni. I take a bite, and my first thought is: "Needs some garlic powder and oregano". So then I put that on, and take a bite, and then I think: "This is NOT as good as people are saying it is, but, it is still on-par with what most pizzerias in Philly are." So, that's my review. It's your average run-of-the-mill pizzeria that is really convenient for people living in the area. Not worth a walk over from Walnut, but great as a little community place. A huge selection of beer.

OK this comment may put me more into the alcoholism category, but there needs to be a place to get beer closer to my house! I mean, this is the closest and let's be honest it's still too far. It's football Sunday and I'm in need of beer for me and friends, on a stat basis. Right? Maybe even delivery? (attention entrepreneurs of Philadelphia). Anyways, Omega Pizza. It's a pizza place, but how many people actually come here for the pizza? Well I never have. The beer selection is really really good, you've got your domestic crafts, imports, and then you have your domestic crap (I'm sorry PBR, I really do enjoy you). There's something for everyone. The craft and imports are pretty damn expensive for mix-n-match or 6 pack. There is no discount for buying a 6 pack. But honestly, it's just as expensive at Food & Friends, The Foodery, or Beer Heaven. The cheap stuff is still pretty affordable but not beer distributor cheap. Note to beer drinkers of the city: stop in Jersey for beer/wine when you have the chance.

Great beer selection. Bangin food. Friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more within walking distance of my boyfriend's house.

Omega Pizza is the clearinghouse for all the grease in Rittenhouse and Fitler Square. From the Omega Fries- a carby cheesey delight - to the pizza slices, you can expect the greasiest feast in town. And I, for one, love it. Sometimes you dont want a salad and a cup of tea. You to unbuckle your belt, have two slices and a beer. Oh, and the beer selections is fair. Beyond your domestics and common imports you have a wider selectiuon of beer that appeals to many tastes. They even have my favorite cider (JK's Scrumpy) which warms my cold angry heart. Please make your own six pack. But the place is kind of a cess pit in the middle of the bougie ideal that is Fitler square. As I am a rat among the city's rich and powerful, I gladly frequent it and so should you.

Great beer selection. Food isn't great, but it's the cheapest meal you could possibly buy in the city.

Not bad for mixed six The go-to spot in G-Ho Food if you're hungry If you live in G-Ho, you know Omega. You may not like Omega, but you know it. It's the go-to beer spot in the 'hood, and for good reason. It's pretty much the only spot in the 'hood for beer. The main draw is the mixed six pack availability. While they don't have quite the same selection as the Foodery or Food and Friends, they definitely have enough of a variety to get you and a few friends through an evening while still catering to everyone's tastes. Don't want to break the bank on some lambic's and off the wall ales? Hit up their 12 High Life cans for $10. It's kind of ridiculous (the case is literally cut apart with a box cutter,) but try to find a better take home deal on beer. Go ahead, seriously. As far as the food, there's better spots in the area. I always go with the meatball sub, but they sell pizza by the slice as well. Sometimes I'll grab one and show while picking out a sixer.

Omega pizza is the perfect hangover, drunk, or just hungry food. The pizza isn't amazing by any standards - and I definitely don't like their plain pizza all that much. HOWEVER, their vegetable pie is FANTASTIC. I love it. The cheese is pretty fresh. The vegetables they choose are a great combo - and they are ALWAYS fresh. The sauce is also good. Additionally, they sell beer. AND they were open during the huge blizzard this past winter! Definitely go here and try the vegi pizza.

Waste of time. Ordered two pizzas and a drink. It took an hour and a half to deliver it four blocks and it arrived lukewarm. They forgot the drink, we called them twice and I had to pick it up myself two and a half hours later. Fail!

Ordered from here with co-workers for a goobye lunch as two of our own are leaving us forever. Pizza is the staple lunch of our little department and it was at the suggestion of one of our soon-to-be departed that we order from here. I wasn't overly impressed when it arrived, but will say that the vegetable pizza was much more decorated than I would have thought. With piled high mushrooms, spinach, onions, tomatoes, and broccoli this was my days worth of vegetables on one slice of hot gooey pizza. The crust was meh, on the dry side, and not beckoning me to finish it, but overall the order was ready on time and accurate which is more than I can say for a lot of other pizza joints around the city.

I've only eaten food from here once, about 5 years ago. so...i don't really remember it. BUT they have a fabulous take out beer selection and you can mix & match 6 packs. maybe not as extensive as the foodery, but you can find that kind of stuff here, too.

  • Sylvia M.

This was definitely my favorite pizza place when I lived 4 blocks away... The service is... different. They're nice, not personable but not mean. They're just doing they're job. The food is great! I tried most of their menu: pizza (all sorts), wings, sandwiches (cheesesteaks are pretty good), and everything else... taste is great. My only beef with them is that when you say my food will take 30-40 minutes don't make me wait 1.5 hours... not just once but it happened a lot. They have beer, make your own 6-packs and such & they also have some tables so you can eat in there! * Don't go to the bathroom... either hold it or go on the sidewalk. * (I don't want to talk about it...)

    (4)
  • Kelly G.

I actually like their veggie pizza... when my family comes up and we order pizza they always talk about how good the pizza from this place is, as in "are we getting it from that one place that takes forever to deliver but has really good veggie pizza?" The toppings always look good, and the crust is thick which I personally prefer to thin crust you get most places in Philly. It is always better hot though, something about this pizza doesnt lend itsself to eating cold. It isnt someplace to traverse the city for, and they arent by any means QUICK but if you need to get pizza delivered in GHo in say, about an hour, call this place.

  • Rachel W.

I am not reviewing Omega Pizza for their pizza or food, because it sucks. I am reviewing them for their amazing selection of take out beer. Great microbrews from various places across the US, as well as imports. You can create your own six pack as well, and buy by the bottle. Hooray beer.

  • Lauren D.

Aw, c'mon GHo. Omega isn't THAT bad. I initially started going here because of the beer. At the time, I had yet to become a beer snob so I didn't fully appreciate their expansive list but it was close to my house and that was all that mattered. Then I tried the pizza. Apparently everyone else hates cheese because they have REALLY cheesy pizza. Which, yes, in turn, makes it greasy. Let's be honest, when you're eating pizza are you REALLY trying to be healthy? Most pizza = greasy and really cheesy pizza = really greasy. It's a simple equation. Also, you can fix the grease problem by blotting it with a paper towel. Anyway, the long story short is I love their pizza and I think it's really good and I'm happy that I can get hangover-curing pizza and the hair-of-the-dog in the same place. Also, their beer is AWESOME and the owner really knows his stuff. I'm a beer snob due to my current restaurant of employment and it's really good to hear him comment on some of the lesser known stouts and Belgian brews that I buy. He clearly puts a lot of thought into what he stocks, unlike other places in the area.

  • Coco D.

I love this place. I love their veggie grinders, though if you're like me you have to get them without green peppers and lettuce, and with onions. Also, get mustard/mayo and have all the veggies cooked before AND after they are put on the grinder. Delicioso! This is the only food I get here, as I am trying not to eat animals that led terrible lives, and Philadelphia eateries don't seem too concerned with the living conditions of their beef. Also, the owner here is kind of awesome. Any proprietor that enjoys talking shit about the Cowboys is ok with me! And they have like a million beers, though they must be obscenely overpriced. Seriously, some bitch got 2 six packs and a supersized bottle of Lambic and it cost $36.95. And one of the six packs was of Yuengling! I was kind of amazed that she didn't even bat an eyelash at that. Clearly I should have mugged her after she left. Anyway, veggie faces and rich beer fans should love this place. I guess I fall into one of these categories.

For pizza - a big fat NO Apparently has a great beer selection so that would be a big YES

  • Jesse M.

Omega Pizza is a 3 minute walk from my house and it's the perfect place for carry-out beer. The selection is very impressive and you can build your own six pack. I have been in this establishment about four times and the staff has been friendly every time. The food is nothing to write home about. If you are in dire need of something to eat and you are suffering from a terrible hangover, Omega Pizza will suffice. If I could sum this place up with one quote from a movie, it would be this line from Babe: "That'll do pig, that'll do"

  • Jack H.

Out of desperation, I stopped in for a couple of six packs to keep my party fueled. Way too expensive, I could have bought a case in NJ for what they charged. In all fairness, I do not know about the food but my one experience was enough to convince me not to return.

Buy your beer here. Avoid the food.

The rating is given to the beer selection as I had no chance to eat there yet. Per recommendation of my friends I went there to pick up a mixed six pack of beers and wasn't disappointed! I thought that I was ready for the price knowing how much Duvel and Kriek are going in pubs but $36 for six beers was a bit higher than I expected.

When I first walked in I thought this Omega Pizza was going to be disgusting. Aesthetically, it certainly suggests that. But in reality, the pizza isn't terrible, and I had a meatball grinder which was actually quite good. (They put a fair amount of cheese on it). The slices of pizza are greasy, but they are also come in at under 2 bucks a slice. Which ain't bad for the city. Their beer selection deserves special commendation. It is quite good, not only for Macro/Micro brews, but also harder to get stuff, like the Brooklyn/Schneider Hopfenweisse or Dogfishhead 120 minute. The lack of prices makes beer buying a bit tedious however, as you have to go up and ask the cashier how much each is. A bit of a pain, especially if it is busy.

Beer selection is amazing - build your own 6 pack is a big plus. Pizza is only edible when i am extremely hungover - it is super greasy - cheesesteaks..ehh...

A beer distributor posing as a Pizza place........every lager gulping guy knows, parking in this area is hard to come by so instead of driving for a dozen bottles and lose your spot after , walk to Omegas instead. The name could be Omega Red Pizza that would have made it way yuppie / student friendly.

okay- i actually like this place. the wings are delish, they have great burgers and fries. cant go wrong with an expansive beer selection.

Have been ordering from Omega for years but for the last 25 out of 30 tries, they tell me they can't deliver 'tonight'. When I have questioned what is going on, the man on the phone just gets rude. Tonight I ask to speak to the owner and am told 'she' is only in on Sundays - oh yes... I plan to call on Sunday. Not to place an order, but to ensure she knows what is going on so that she might decide to take an interest in the business she supposedly runs. Great pizza - IF you can get it. But don't bother... they probably aren't delivering tonight.

Omega is my neighborhood pizza/grinder place. I think it's great. Not too expensive, wide variety (in the realm of corner pizza/hoagie/beer place) of food and great variety of beer.

  • Anne F.

Casual, laid back, walk-in place. Can order pizza, pasta, subs to go or sit down. Can buy beer by the bottle or make your own 6 pack. Great place to stop by on your way out... or on your way home! Definitely a super casual place.

  • Jake P.

Most pizza places in Philly are what bodegas are to New York: places to buy beer. Omega has decently priced beer, and even some really classy wine-beers. They sell singles and by the 6er. This is my second favorite such stop in the city (shout out to Pasqually's in West Philly), but unlike that place, I'd actually eat here. The food is just sustenance. No more, no less. But the place is open late, cooks lightning fast, and has become a mainstay with its hideous blue plastic awning to the west side of South Street.

  • Sumita R.

This review is not for the food but for the beer selection alone. It is not cheap, but the best place to mix and match and try different beers. I agree that any beer snob would love the selection here.

    (4)
  • Abby B.

I go here mainly for the beer, as the food leaves little to be desired. A decent beer selection in an area of the city where there's not really a distributor. The employees are always super nice and conversational too. If you must get food here, the jalapeño poppers are pretty good, as are the salads. I wouldn't recommend the pizza though - it lacks any sort of flavor. Overall, a great place to grab a mix-and-match 6-pack to go.

    (3)
  • Felix S.

Really great beer selection for such a tiny place. Many a Friday or Saturday afternoon has been destroyed by their bottle selection. I work and live very close so when I'm done with work, it's too easy to justify stopping in before heading home. Food is good; I mean it's just a pizza place and it's about average there Staff is super nice

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
