Ho Le Chan, forever in our hearts! It is as ghetto as the day is long but the staff is so friendly and FAST. Living across the street from it for 14 years, I pretty much gre up on the Chicken Wings and Chicken and Broccoli. There has not been another Chinese takeout place better than this one.

I travel over a half hour just to eat here! Been going here for years (even before the current owners) and I gotta say... It's great! My wife REFUSES to eat anywhere else as far as Chinese takeout goes... They actually use real rice... No cheap yellow rice here! Tried almost all the menu over the years... NEVER DISAPPOINTED!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! FOOD WAS TERRIBLE!! I should've ORDERED PIZZA. Finally when my food came i was greeted by the delivery man and he was very nice but... the food was absolutly horrible!!!!! i will never eat chinese again after this. everything i ordered was disgusting. all the great reviews about the food are nothing but lies!!! ------ before order was delivered i wrote: been waiting over an hour and when i called to see how much longer she got really nasty with me and told me not to call instead of giving me the time frame of how much longer i'll have to wait. that is the true meaning of terrible customer service. by the way , i am only 8 minutes away from them by car! i am canceling my order! what a horrible way to talk to your customer. never again!

The food is excellent, especially for the value. Their delivery absolutely sucks and is typically very very late.

Excellent, cheap chinese delivery! Typically, I find most chinese restaurants serve greasy gut-bombs, but Ho Le Chan's food is exceptional for the price. While it certainly doesn't compare with pricier places like Sang Kee, Susanna Foo or Han Dynasty, for a jawn stashed away in Kensington, it rules. Their online menu and ordering is super easy- don't bother calling in, as their english can be difficult to understand, use the online system for painless ease. They typically deliver in 30-45 minutes. They are hands down, my go-to restaurant when I can't be bothered to leave the house.

I love this place! I'll admit, I'd see reviews for Chinese places that spoke about real versus fake fried rice and I never really understood the hoopla. Let me tell you: this place has real fried rice and I won't eat that yellow garbage any more! I order their lunch specials fairly often, sometimes delivery which is fast to average every time. The food is always hot and delicious, with great portion sizes. The staff is always friendly when I stop in to get my order. The only place I get Chinese take out from anymore!

"HO RE CHAN! HOW MAY I HELP YOU!?" Best greasy Chinese food in the area. Super cheap. Fast delivery. 12 feet of snow outside? Yes. They will deliver. Hurricane? Yes. They will deliver. Just ordering a pizza roll? Yes. They will deliver.

I can't review the food since I never have even tried it. I attempted to tonight. Ordered food two and a half hours ago and it still isn't here. I called a bunch of times over the past hour and a half to find out where the food was and no one is answering. Pretty positive I will never try their food.

Used to be my go to chinese but recently delivery has been taking well over an which. So the hunt continues for a good chinese place in port richmond.

Worst chinese food I've ever had. I am not a food snob (I'll eat most anything) and I personally think it's pretty hard to have chinese food so bad it's inedible. But this place managed it. We ordered pretty standard fare, general tso's chicken combo, chicken chow mein combo, and wonton soup. All of the food was really bad, we didn't finish (probably didn't make it half way through) either platter, despite the fact that we were really hungry. The wonton soup was awful and chemical tasting. And I have never ever not finished an egg roll, but one bite was enough to put that thing down and push the entire meal away. I know Port Richmond and Fishtown aren't loaded with a ton of great chinese places, but avoid this one at all costs. It is clearly the worst of the bunch.

I will always have a special place for Ho Le Chan. They were the first Chinese take out place to open in Port Richmond during my youth. I was practically raised on their chicken & broccoli. Their staff is the friendliest around. Everything from their menu that I have ever tried was very good. Nothing fancy, but very tasty.

Nothing to write home about. However, I will confide in you my beautiful Yelp... Unfortunately there's nothing to say. Just plain good Chinese, what do you want? Seems to be popular with the local crowd!

This was by far the worst Chinese food we ever had the displeasure of putting into our mouths. The Wonton noodles were gummy, the chow mein had a bad odor that killed your appetite the moment you opened the container, over cooked rice and something greasy coating all containers and the bag. NEVER AGAIN! RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! They should be closed down and investigated!

Its a corner Chinese place, nothing fancy. I like the pork fried rice and egg rolls. The people are nice and the food consistent. Can't really go wrong.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
