I absolutely love this place. It's an excellent choice for vegans and vegetarians. Whether you're eating there or getting a pita to go, the atmosphere is chill and the place is air conditioned (which is a nice relief from the muggy summer Philly weather). Everything is fresh. The vegetables are crunchy and flavorful which never disappoints. It's not hard to conquer the massive pita because after one bite you won't be able to stop yourself. There's a wide variety of proteins, vegetables, and dressings that you can pick from to create your ideal pita, so there's something for everyone. Service is speedy and the workers are personable. They know my order better than I do at times! I can't help but stop in whenever I'm in the city because I know I won't be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and come visit!

This entire summer, I've been looking for healthy, affordable, and fresh lunch options, and I think I've found the place of my dreams at Eat-A-Pita. When I first walked in, the atmosphere felt very organic and friendly. The service was great--everyone was happy to answer my questions, and seemed to really enjoy working there. The menu had so many diverse options, and all of them looked great. I put together my own pita sandwich with whole-wheat pita, kale, faux-lafel (a baked version of its Middle Eastern counterpart, instead filled with roasted garlic hummus, flax seed, quinoa, sesame, cumin, and cilantro), all the veggies, and green apple vinaigrette. Everything was simple, fresh, and natural. My sandwich was ready quickly, and I loved everything about it, price included. I am definitely ready to go back again and try literally everything else on the menu. It all looks so good! Overall, amazing food, amazing service, and amazing experience. You can't go wrong.

What's not to love about this place? I'm honestly upset that I didn't try it sooner. Food is amazing - fresh, healthy, filling portions, flavorful, nice variety Service is fantastic - quick and painless, with happy employees (so rare these days!) Setup - nothing over the top, pretty simple, and I like the oaky feeling of being in there The prices are fab and for what you're getting, you really can't beat that deal anywhere. I had the Grilled Lamb and Feta pita (UMM WHAT HELLO CAN I HAVE THIS FOR BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER??) Eat-a-pita? How about EAT-ALL-THE-PITAS Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu. Also, I just figured out from their website that they cater. Definitely adding this to the list of places for work lunches/dinners if needed!!

I'm a huge fan of Eat-a-pita for a delicious and healthy lunch. They have a great selection of pitas, salads, and sandwiches and they are all customizable. Yesterday, I had the turkey burger on a whole wheat pita with "all the veggies" and a side of (spicy!!) honey mustard, which was really flavorful and extremely filling! I've also had their salads before which are large and much more reasonably priced than competitors around the area. They constantly have new features on the menu and I usually have a hard time deciding what to get. I've never had a bad meal here! I was a little bummed yesterday because their Levelup wasn't working and I had a credit, but I guess that's just a reason to go back. The one thing I wish they had was their nutrition information available. Even though the menu is filled with fresh ingredients and lean proteins, I like to know the breakdown of what I'm eating so I can make even more educated choices. Definitely check this place out for lunch the next time you're in the area!

A very good sandwich, one of the better things that I tasted that day. I tried a pork bahn mi. It had a fluffy pita, great spice on the pork, the pickled veggies were crisp and fresh tasting. The one down side was that there were some small bones in the pork that needed to be picked out. I tried Eat-A-Pita at the Taste of 3 Cities Food Truck Festival & Competition. The bahn mi was $5 for a pita that was about the size of my palm. Good value for what I tasted. I don't know if this is the normal size for the pitas, or something special for the festival.

Love this place! Perfect place to stop for a quick, healthy bite. Pita's taste homemade and always served warm. Produce is fresh and portions are generous! Always leave happy and full!

King of amazed at how good the $9 Bahn Mi was. The pork is slow-cooked, and whether it's done well or not is disguised by the generous (and slightly over powering) taste of hoisin. Topped with pickled slaw and cilantro, and my heavy handed Sriracha pour and it was dynamite. Literally one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. Need to visit again and explore the menu more, but really good for a first visit.

Probably the best (and only) cold shawarma I've ever had. The meat surprisingly was really good despite it being lukewarm. It was surprising because they have a vertical rotisserie that looked great but instead chose to reheat already cooked and refrigerated shawarma instead. Real Nice. Feels like a bait and switch. At least they smile at you while they do it. They put things in the pita that were unexpected, like lettuce that while foreign, was a nice addition. They had a very interesting green colored tzatziki like condiment served on the side that was tasty and would have preferred it to be drizzled inside the sandwich and would have requested so if given the option. I could have asked them to reheat the meat (again), or tell them to put their sauce on top of the food, but I shouldn't have to, and I don't. A lot of people, like myself, just deal with it and go along with our days. And don't make the same mistake twice. The staff was friendly and quick, and they had a nice selection of specialty soft drinks.

This is my go-to place to place to order lunch when I'm at work! Delicious, healthy, and seasonal menu which I love! I suggest the portobello pita. They also deliver pretty far and deliver in a timely manner. Can't wait for their food truck!

I got tomato soup and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese on pita was underwhelming and the soup was thinly disguised marinara sauce... Not impressed

This is an outstanding fast food establishment. Healthy, tasty, and reasonably priced eat-a-pita will give you your money's worth and more. I had the falafel pita. It was loaded with good veggies, wrapped neatly in paper for "to-go" eating. I highly recommend their pita sandwiches for a healthy, quick meal. I've had pita sandwiches in a lot of cities. None better than Eat-a-Pita on 12th Street, Philly.

Yummy yummy yummy, I got a lovely pita in my tummy! Wow, this place is pretty delicious! I first tried their pitas at the Yelp 10th Anniversary this past July. I forget which ones they were featuring, but boy I kept going back for more! My friend and fellow Yelper Aria S. reminded me about this place being at the July party when I told her my coworker and I wanted to grab lunch from here last week. So glad she reminded me of it! While my coworker got the Vegan (soy bacon, pesto tofu, soy cheese, vegan aioli, arugula, tomato) on wheat, I "picked my own" and I choose pesto tofu as my protein, with "all the veggies" (minus tomato, ya nasty), and yogurt curry as my pour. Of course, all on wheat as well. WOAH MAMA was this fresh and tasty! My coworker and I usually split our meals, so I got the best of both worlds. I tried the vegan first since it was warmer (still had to warm both pitas up a bit in the microwave). I know all of my non-vegetarian friends RAVE about bacon (sorry never falling trap), but this soy bacon was OFF THE CHAIN. I mean it was so good that I had to make sure it wasn't meat (just because it was so different, not because meat is tastier than vegetarian food). Also, although it seemed like it, the soy bacon wasn't really smoky (not about that smoky life). My pita was pretty good too, with the yogurt curry being the perfect pour. Just wish the tofu was a bit firmer (don't like it really melting in my mouth) and also wish the sandwich came out a bit warmer. However, it was nothing a minute in the microwave couldn't fix. My pita came out to $8-something, while my coworker's pita came out to $9-something. A bit in the pricier side, but it was totally worth it! Go for this place!

If you're looking for a quick and healthy lunch, then this is your place. They offer wheat and gluten free pitas, along with lots of different veggies. They also hosted a fundraiser for my nursing class and were able to accommodate lunch orders for lots of people in a timely manner. I will definitely be back next time I want to order lunch!

My fiancé and I ate at eat a pita for lunch today. It was very warm and cute inside...decorated with Christmas lights and Christmas greens. I ate the portobello panini and my fiancé ate the special salad that had salmon, eggs, chickpeas, etc in it. We really loved what we had and would go back again.

I had a delicious custom made falafel here today. Choose the ingredients you want in your pita. Fast, friendly service, and reasonably priced. They use fresh ingredients and the resturant is spotlessly clean. A great choice for vegans looking for a quick and tasty lunch. Highly recommend.

Ordered delivery from Eat-A-Pita on a rainy Friday night. Coming from the land of Pita-Pit's my expectations were not tremendously high. Well let me tell you, I was wrong. Delivery arrived on time and the pitas themselves were great. Both dining partner and I chose to make our own pitas with a protein base of rotisserie chicken. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. My selected veggies were so fresh that it made a significant crisp and crunch as I chewed. I've come to find that many pitas are drenched in sauces to mask the questionable contents, but that was not the case here. They used just the right amount of sauce, in my case, honey mustard. Me gusta!

This place just came into our sight by fate last weekend. I had parked at the garage next door, staying down the street at the Alexander, we were going to head towards Independence Hall for our trolley tour but we were starving. With a lot of chain fast food choices nearby, we walked by this place. I'm gluten free/paleo so this place looked right up my alley! They had so many fresh ingredients and unique options. I had the kale and apple salad, with the Moroccan chicken salad added on top (good choice if I do say so my self). The salad was great, tons of apples, grapes, olives etc in it. I really enjoyed it! I got my dressing on the side but didn't even touch it because there was so much 'stuff' in the salad. Love that. There are pita options, you can build your own or pick from their menus. They have soups also, and a gluten free pita if you're interested in that route. I WISH we had one in Annapolis or Baltimore. I would go there all the time. YUM. My only complaint would be the outdoor seating. Coming from a water town we know how to use a sidewalk to our advantage. It was such a beautiful day and I really wanted to sit outside but the two small tables they had looked filthy we opted to sit inside.

I don't think one could ever hear the words "great salad" and "reasonable price" in the same sentence without flashing your mind to Wendy's // McDonald's- and even their salads are sub par. Eat-A-Pita has everything you would want from a sandwich and salad place: endless topping, creative dressings, fresh bread, and flavorful proteins. We ordered two LARGE (humongous) salads, one with curried chicken salad (to die for) and one with grilled chicken- plus every vegetable. Eat-A-Pita's shtick is that you aren't charged extra for wanting five million different types of toppings on your salad, whereas most other places will charge you up to $1.00/topping. The dressings were creative and flavorful- try the balsamic fig and lemon-thyme (its also nice that they give you two instead of one, you can try multiple).

  • Courtney P.

I love this place! I eat here several times a week. The small salads offer generous portions for a reasonable price. I've also gotten a couple vegetarian pitas/paninis that are delicious. Wait times can be long at lunch, so I usually call ahead for pick up.

  • The Wet Shaver S.

Fresh ingredients, fairly priced. Not a fan of the Ancho-ranch pour. Also wished the roasted chicken was stuffed further down in the Pita rather then laid on top of the opening, but no biggie. It was pretty tasty, I'll be back for sure!

Eat-A-Pita has become my go to lunch spot, when in Center City. The pitas, soups, and salads are amazing, made of fresh and homemade ingredients. I usually opt for the "pick your own" pita option- there are so many ingredients to pick from! There are also various specials whenever I come in, the vegetarian chili being a favorite. For the same price as nearby Cosí or Chipotle, you get a friendlier, non-corporate atmosphere and a delicious, fresh meal! Highly recommended!

I tried to order delivery from work, as I can't leave the office today. I am 6 blocks away and they told me it was too far because they "didn't have a bike." 6 blocks! Unacceptable.

Eat-A-Pita has been on my to-try list for lunch ever since I attended their event for Yelp's In It To Thin It in the spring. So after a meeting nearby this morning, I popped over to grab a pita to go. My wheat pita, stuffed with carved turkey, avocado, lettuce, tomato and sprouts was absolutely delicious. All of the ingredients were plentiful and terrific. The parmesan peppercorn dressing I received on the side was probably the most tasty sandwich topping ever. I noticed a sign with a list of soups above the register. I'll have to try some next time. Contrary to what I originally thought, Eat-A-Pita is a local establishment, not a big national chain or franchise. Everything is made in-house. My only regret is that I don't live closer to this awesome lunch option. I'll probably just start creating excuses to visit Midtown Village around lunchtime more often.

I've been dying to try this place for a while now- pita is literally my favorite food in the WORLD. And what better than a Chipotle-Subway style pita based restaurant?! The vibe of the place was on point. Hip and trendy, fast and convenient, it was the perfect casual lunch spot for a Friday afternoon. I was instantly overwhelmed by the options of the "make your own" section and couldn't settle on a perfect combination of ingredients, protein, and sauce so I opted for one of the already created options. I chose the MEDITERRANEAN VEGGIE on wheat pita (olives, feta, hummus, cucumber salad). It was deliciously fresh, and stuffed with ingredients. Every bite was tasty and flavorful without being overpowering. The portion size was great (I was as stuffed as the pita was stuffed at the end of my meal) but I think that comes with the slightly higher price point for the sandwiches. I paid close to $9.50 for my pita sandwich (which I thought was a SLIGHT rip-off) but nonetheless really enjoyed it. I would be curious to taste a warm pita sandwich as opposed to the cold one that I tried. Would definitely come back to explore more of the options on the menu-- as well as to create my own (the peppercorn ranch pour looks promising, as does the pesto tofu). Beware of the skyrocketing prices though as you create your own-- there are almost extra charges for anything you add on top of the minimum and basic ingredients! I will definitely be back to eat-more-pitas. I wish it were closer and that it delivered to campus!

I had the Mediterranean Veggie pita and while it was very filling, it didn't have all that much flavor. It was good, but for $9, I'd say it was a bit overpriced. I left feeling eh about the whole experience. I didn't get the odd ordering configuration, the place doesn't seem all that clean, and it's on the expensive side for a pita sandwich. I'll probably try it again at some point, but I'm not in a rush to return.

A fine day for hummus with the texture of regurgitated play dough and turkey burger that smells like a butt hole. So many kinds of wrong with a dish that seems relatively fool proof.

I really wanted to like this place a little more than I did... okay, maybe a lot more. However, let's start with the pros: I love the "all the veggies" option for every pita, salad, or panini. After eating a pita that was so big my mouth could not fit around it, I didn't feel weighed down from being full. It's a good amount of food, but its fresh and light. All the sandwiches come with a side of farro salad, which is fantastic. Also, this place boasts some of the best fake bacon I have ever had and I am really glad we got the side of homemade pita chips and hummus. Yum! The cons: the tofu and the spices (or lack thereof). The tofu was cubed and covered in some sort of dressing, but it literally had zero flavor at all and added nothing to the sandwich. The farro salad also badly needed a bit of salt and everything else could have used quite a bit more seasoning. The ingredients were there, but there were little to no spices, which just didn't take this place up to the next level. The place is open and airy, the metal baskets for when you dine in are a nice touch, and they gladly gave out cups of water. However, I don't think this will become a regular lunch spot.

So let's see, let me start with the good. The vegan panini is pretty tasty. I wish the mock bacon wasn't tofu (maybe swap for tempeh) but overall I enjoyed it. I also had a orzo salad with olive salad. The orzo salad was bland. Needed some salt and a little something else to give it some flavor. When I added the olives to it it gave it a better flavor but still needed something else. My gripe with this place was that I ordered through grub hub and I waited two hours for my order. I'm not sure if it's grub hub's fault or the restaurant. Anyway, they willingly gave me a 50% discount after I called, so I'll give them that. They were really apologetic. I'd be willing to try something else from there based on their professionalism.

Eat-a-Pita, convenient to me-ta, I'd love to stop by for some lunch! No need for a wallet, LevelUp, all about it Those carrots give just the right crunch. The price might seem steep for a lady like me, Who gave all her money to Penn. But when healthy's your goal, and quick fits the mold, I'll come back again and again. Turkey or hummus, this spot lies among us Feeding the masses of midtown And when pizza won't cut it, you need veg in your gullet Eat-a-Pita's the place to chowdown.

The place is great! It has a very chill feel to it. I had the Vegan Panini and it was by far the best I've had in a long time!! The veggie bacon was kinda on the salty side, but everything else about it was spot on!! The tofu in it almost gave the panini a ricotta cheese taste to it that especially made it wonderful!! This was by far the best sandwich and I would deff recommend to all!!

Nice place to grab lunch. I've only ever eaten the pita sandwiches, but the creations are pretty unique and tasty. The ingredients are fresh, but it never takes long at all for the final product to be made. The staff are always really friendly the prices are really reasonable. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a nice lunch place.

Ever since last Halloween's Yelp Elite Event (where Eat-A-Pita offered fantastic food), I've looked at their Center City storefront and said, "I'll visit you one day, I promise!" Nearly six months later, the day finally arrived when I was on the hunt for super casual food and decided, "It's time!" I walked into Eat-A-Pita last Wednesday night and was instantly overwhelmed beyond belief by all the options on the wall. I asked the person working for some good options. He listed off at least 5-10 items in rapid-fire, to which I likely bulged my eyes and furiously blinked a few times. Since it was my first visit, I decided to start with baby steps and chose the rotisserie chicken club panini. It comes with bacon (!), apples, spinach and dijon sauce -- so I probably could have chosen a healthier option, but man... it was delicious. Messy, but good. I'm excited to go back and try more of their menu! I'd definitely recommend a visit.

I love this place for a quick and substantial lunch. The Mediterranean wrap is my favorite. It is always bursting with flavors of garlic hummus, olives and feta. There are plenty of healthy options including soups in the winter!

  • Cat P.

Happy to report they've upped their healthy drink game since my previous visits (Honest Tea, better juice, more bottles of water, etc.) and the pesto tofu BLT is still amazing. They were also quicker making our food this go around, although it's never a bad thing to have some extra patience during lunch hour in Center City!

  • Luba P.

Tons of vegetarian options! I got the salad with chicken and curry dressing. The salad was huge and filling. I also sampled the curry chicken salad and that was delicious as well. They also even gave us free watermelon which was nice! The place is really casual and cute...but pay attention to the street as it is pretty easy to miss!

lab dads sandal is an anagram for sad, bland salad. shoulda gone for the pita. salads are, as I've mentioned before, both sad and bland, and also $9 which is silly.

Five stars for the pitas, four stars for the salad. The pita with roasted garlic hummus and all the veggies was delicious and satisfying. I also got a salad which was good, but nothing to rave about. I will definitely be back to eat a pita at Eat-A-Pita!

This place was okay. I went here for lunch and ordered the quinoa salad, Hummus, and veggie chili. I took home the chicken bacon panini for later. Quinoa salad was fantastic. It had some great flavor and perf quinoa to blacK bean ratio. The chili was pretty bland and undercooked. The beans were still pretty raw and the chili needed something. Garlic? Chili powder? Onions? Cilantro? Any of these could have worked. The panini was also just okay. The bread itself was burned pretty badly and the chicken was dry, which was redeemed a little by bacon, but really, bacon saves everything. Overall it was okay but I don't think I will go out of my way to visit again.

The chicken was dry and there was a bone in my pita. This place seems overall mediocre at best.

This was a really disappointing experience since I had heard only positive things from friends who had been to Eat-A-Pita before I finally tried them. The gym I'm a member of has a deal that gets me 15% off of my order, so a number of fellow members (and trainers) have gotten lunches from them several times before. I went with my husband when I didn't feel like cooking on a Sunday afternoon so that I could taste them for myself and not feel guilty for eating out since it's healthy food. They had two specials that day, a roasted spring vegetable salad that included asparagus, carrots, peppers, turnips with the mixed greens, and a lamb kabob sandwich that the one customer at a table was eating and recommended to my husband. I also got a small cup of their chicken vegetable soup for a bit more protein for my meal. We brought our food home to enjoy while watching a movie - and the movie was the only thing we enjoyed. My salad was fine - the lemon feta vinaigrette was tasty, and thankfully they put it in a separate container for me to add myself. The roasted vegetables were disappointing - too few, and roasted to the point of being DRY, no seasoning or even a little oil to cook them properly. My husband started eating his sandwich and immediately complained that it was tasteless - no seasoning, and the yogurt-dill sauce apparently didn't help. I turned to my soup to console my tastebuds...and immediately spit it out. SALT. SO MUCH SALT. It was in fact inedible the soup was so freaking salty. A waste of our money, and I'm super disappointed. The staff was nice, and my friends have enjoyed a few of the regular menu items, but our experience was just simply not good.

Best post-workout meal ever. Getting 10% off for being a member of Unite Fitness across the street sure doesn't hurt, either! They offer a gluten free wrap, which is so hard to find, and it isn't totally awful. It is, however, much better in a panini-style wrap than a cold wrap. Both are good, though. The veggies are fresh and plentiful and you can get a quick meal you won't feel bad about. Plus, they have plenty of add-ons to make your healthy meal less healthy, like bacon and tons of different cheeses. Props for the beverage selection as well. I pop in quite often just to get a half-and-half Honest Tea while I wait for the bus. Employees have always been super friendly and don't mind when I pop in for just tea.

Solid new addition to the midtown neighborhood. If you work at Jefferson they take jeffcard for payment! The pitas here are more expensive than Maoz down the street. For the extra price (Pitas starting at $8) you get: MEAT (tuna, chicken, beef), better toppings such as nuts, various fruits, more sauces (curry sauce was my favorite). The quality is better b/c the meats are fresh and not deep fried. For $10 you can get a pita plus a soup (the carrot ginger was awesome), or salad (didn't get to try it).

OK so I said I'd be back for the review and here it is... Mediterranean Veggie Pita with Fire Roasted Tomato Dressing WAS AMAZING! Lets start with the pitas... They get freshly baked pitas from Maoz vegetarian restaurant just down the street. When the pitas arrive they are still warm from the oven. There are two options white or whole wheat :) The pita was amazing, chewy, warm, and held up to what was going in next... The hummus was garlicky, smooth and full of flavor. There was an olive salad with kalamata, castlevatrano and carrots - this was the perfect balance to the hummus. Add the salty briny feta with the sprouts and crunchy veggies and TA-DA you have yourself a delicious pita. Be prepared to take your tastebuds on a journey! Hands down DELISH!

Today was my first trip to eat-a-pita, and I will certainly be back! The perfect combination of healthy and filling. I opted for the DIY pita, selecting rotisserie chicken, garlic hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, sprouts, and olives w/ the lemon thyme pour. As for the taste, I had no complaints, although there was something that I kept crunching on that was distracting and reminiscent of egg shells, but I figured it was just a tad of healthy goodness, that my palate was unfamiliar with. The portion was quite generous and got rather messy once I got back to the office. I would recommend that they use either a foil wraping or some sort of carton, so that you can wrap up and save for later. There is no way that I could finish that portion in one helping, but by the time I was finished the paper was drenched - making it impossible to re-wrap. But seriously, that is the least of my concerns during lunch time - as it is more of a logistiical issue, and has little to do w/ the quality of hte product. I also had a sanpellegrino limonata and together my meal was just over $12 and well worth it!

I'm all about constructive criticism so lets start with the good and work our way to the bad. For the record this was my first order from Eat A Pita. First of all the food was delivered fast and the delivery guy was well dressed and courteous. The veggie chili was excellent and my girlfriend really enjoyed her Mediterranean Salad. That being said I had the worst Turkey Burger of my life and I'm not exaggerating. I ordered through GrubHub and didn't feel like picking and choosing the toppings one by one so I just went with the suggested Turkey Burger which came with mustard "all the veggies" and caramelized onions. The Turkey Burger patty itself was your basic sad looking pre-frozen jenny o supermarket patty which was a little disappointing but I could have lived with that (lord knows I've eaten my fair share of them) What I wasn't a fan of was the loads of overpowering mustard what was globbed on and half the veggies just don't belong on a turkey burger with mustard. I'm talking to you red cabbage, bell pepper sprouts cucumber and carrot! (and probably chick peas too but I can tolerate them on pretty much anything) Basically all I could taste was a ton of mustard, red cabbage, carrots sprouts and bell peppers and that did not a great sandwich make. I guess I put a little too much faith in whoever crafted the menu I just don't know how anyone could have tried that burger and said "We've got a real winner here lets include it as a menu item!!!" Sarcasm aside I will order from them again for the chili but I'll be staying far far away from that turkey burger. The End :)

Third time's a charm, and that seems to be the case with Eat a Pita (well, at least my experience). When I first passed this establishment after it's grand opening I was oh so excited. I loved the concept and hoped it would fill the pita sized void in heart ever since pita pit closed down (R.I.P). My first time coming in, I have to say I was a little disappointed not to see falafel anywhere on the menu, but no worries. They have pesto tofu, soy bacon, and other goodies. So I got a pita, filled that shit to the brim with as much stuff as possible, and poured some charred tomato vinaigrette on that bad boy. I was stoked to sit down and finally eat, but was disappointed upon first bite. For some reason everything I had stuffed into this pita kind of just mushed together to form a not so satisfying taste. Was it the pita? The veggies? The dressing? I think it was a combo of everything. The second time I came back, I had the same experience. This was pretty upsetting considering I reaaally really wanted to love this place. But today I came in and decided to order a salad rather than a pita and yes- This is what I've been waiting for. Delicious, fresh ingredients and great taste all around. The fig balsamic with the spinach Cobb is great. If I come back it will definitely be for one of their tasty salads. I'll leave the pita stuffing business to maoz around the corner.

While working out at 12th Street Fitness, I was offered samples of pita sandwiches by an Eat A Pita rep. They were delicious, so I went to their shop and purchased the Turkey Burger Pita. The pita was full of flavor and a good-sized portion. The service is very streamlined, and the pita makers are friendly. They have plenty of options to choose from (including vegetarian), and many healthy choices (which I look for). Since then, I have been back several time to try other pitas, and I have really liked them all so far. I recommend this place to all healthy eaters and to those who love flavor-packed food.

Decent spot for an on-the-go, healthier option. Wide selection of pitas and salads (my personal fave is the rotisserie chicken club). It's been touched on below but the salads don't quite meet the 5 star rating flavor wise. Pitas and paninis will no doubt fill you up though! As for the staff, I've had some days when they are super friendly, and others when they are colder (or clearly forcing a smile). All in all not outstanding every time, but not off putting either.

Popped in here for a quick lunch and while I thought the pita itself was tasty, it was a bit overwhelming to eat due to its size. This pita, (I went with the market and added hummus) was around the size of my head and my eating it consisted of me dropping veggies everywhere. Thankfully they were crisp fresh veggies. I also tried their tofu blt pita which I liked more than the one I had. There was quite a wait for our food, probably because it was smack in the middle of lunch time. The kitchen staff did seem to be running around a lot to keep up. Hopefully that it something that will settle out in time. When paying, the woman at the register indicated to me that I should have chosen a "sauce" for my pita. Had I known this when I ordered, I would have, but since the pita was all wrapped up and handed to me, I didn't see the point of choosing a sauce after the fact. Also, a couple of bucks extra for hummus because they consider it a protein was not one of my favorite attributes. Perhaps I'll stop back in a couple months after they've got some time to get their feet wet.

what i ordered at Eat - a - Pita was just OK - but i was very interested in the menu and will have to go back and try other options. Vegans take note they have vegan bacon, pesto tofu, daiya(!), and an entire vegan panini. i ordered the panini and i was somewhat disappointed that the tofu wasn't as flavorful as i was expecting, and also it was so super greasy (the grease was dripping out of the bread). I don't know if there is a way to make it a little healthier - but either way the real reason I'm giving this 3 and not 4 stars is for the flavorless tofu. Hopefully I'll be back soon to try a salad with "all the veggies" and upgrade my review. the salads looked good and i immediately regretted ordering the panini and not the salad.

I was really hoping this place would be good and work out on a weird stretch of 12th street that sees more turnover than Kansas City Chiefs (ohhhh). I was given a sample of the olive salad at my gym which was delicious along with a 20% off coupon card and a menu and everything looked really good. So one Saturday after working out I wanted a mix of complex carbs and protein so I figured I swing by on the way home. I ordered the blackened shrimp in a whole wheat pita. I was really disappointed to get a pita which hadn't been warmed and didn't feel overly fresh (although I'm sure it was). I took a bite and it just really lacked flavor. I ended up salting the thing to death and by the second bite the back of the pita had split right open and had made a mess. I am going to give them another shot as the owners seem like really good people and I'd love for them to succeed but for $10 a pop I was hoping for something more.

My pita was so dry and horrible, I felt like I was eating dirt. I am shocked at how high the reviews are for this place given how terrible the food is. PASS!

I think I was a bit to harsh with my first review of Eat-A-Pita. The lamb schwarma is really good here. It was freshly grilled up for me and paired really well with tomatoes and chickpeas in a pita with the yogury curry pour.

Good pitas, lots of topping selections, sizable portions and quick service even during really crowded lunch service. I probably eat here once a week (would go more but it's a bit pricey, but it is center city) and haven't had a bad pita yet.

You know, I've only had one pita here, but it was enough to not make me want to give the place another chance, especially with Maoz up the street. I was excited about this place because you have a plethora of proteins to choose from, and I love meat. Maybe everything except what I ordered is good, but I won't be returning soon, especially with the hefty $10 tag. I got the rotisserie chicken, all the veggies except the scallions and bell peppers, with the charred tomato vinaigrette on a wheat pita. The chicken was unbelievably bland and of small amount, and when you top veggies on top of that, it just seems worse. The container of the vinaigrette, while delicious, was not enough...this is bad because I usually only use 1/2 my dressing at Saladworks. Another weird point was that I felt like my tomato soup was on the salty side. For $5 at a salad bar, I could get everything from above, and turn it into a salad with a side of pita. On the plus side, I know I had a proper "after work-out" meal.

Recently, I met up with the GF and her co-worker for a Friday work-day lunch. Since I was able to work from home that day, I met them close to where they work, in Midtown Village. Reminiscing about the schawarma options in NYC, I was excited to head to Eat a Pita. The design of this place is really clean, open, and fresh. Pretty perfect if you ask me. It's right next to Jake's Sandwich Board - so it took everything I had not to stop over and get their delicious potato pancakes! But back to Eat a Pita! Their motto is 'pick a protein, pick your produce, pick a pour.' Makes sense and they sure do have a lot of options. They also have a bunch of pre-designed sandwiches. The GF and her co-worker previously had the rotisserie chicken panini and a Reuben respectively. More importantly, they really enjoyed them. This time around, we all went with some relatively healthy options (perhaps to our downfall). The Gobbler ($9) Turkey breast, cranberry mustard, brie, spinach The GF had the turkey gobbler, which attempted to evoke Thanksgiving. It gave it the good ol' college try - fresh turkey breast, a tangy cranberry mustard, with some creamy brie. The spinach and cucumbers offered refreshing bites to the panini. Yet - despite all this, the sandwich was really dry and was not our cup of tea. Lamb Shawarma ($11) Yogurt, cucumber salad I went with a lamb schawarma. Unfortunately, this was nothing like the ones off of the 'street meat' carts in NYC. The lamb was dry and even tasted ground up. The yogurt sauce was the real disappointment - it tasted extremely sweet and did not have the creamy tang that embodies a proper cucumber yogurt sauce. There was some slight heat to the dish, but muted overall. The fresh cucumbers and romaine lettuce were a nice touch. The wheat pita (my choice) certainly added to the healthy vibe of the overall meal. Still - healthy or not, this was just dry and too sweet. Vegeterian Chili ($5; $2 add-on with sandwich The saving grace (though not exactly Messianic)? The vegetarian chili was actually really good. It had a bit of kick at the end which I enjoyed. Little orzo-like pasta and beans helped to make this a hearty side. I really have to come back for the Reuben and the chili. Farro Salad ($5; $2 add-on with sandwich) The GF opted for a cold farro salad as a side. Again with the sweet. This tasted as though it was drenched in maple syrup. The golden raisins didn't help matters. This was more of a grainy, syrupy dessert. Not our favorite either. I really wanted to like Eat a Pita, but unfortunately, they missed the mark on my first trip. Hopefully, the second time will be the charm (as I won't try for a third if they miss the mark again). They're in a prime location and have the capability to deliver really good food (even the healthy choices) - I just couldn't get over how sweet some of those sauces and dishes were.

This place is fantastic for inexpensive, healthy, and delicious lunch on my lunch break. I walk over from rittenhouse, bypassing all sorts of competition. I really liked the ample room and lack of insane hustle and bustle that comes along smaller popular local healthy lunch spots (looking at you honeygrow). Today's Soup was a highlight, Curry Chicken Stew warmed me right up! Of course, all the pita's a incredible, fresh, and everything is clearly made in house. BOTTOM LINE: Try this spot out. These people are creating something out of love and with serious pride in the product, so you know it's gunna be good. P.S. Don't forget to get your pita will "all the veggies"!

I work in the city so there are so many options for food around the area. A co worker brought this menu back and I wanted to give it a try. I had an order for pick up and got my stuff in no time. However, when I walked back to work and started eating, I noticed that it was a little dry, still good though but missing the sauce. It was still tasty and the veggies were so fresh, I hated to be that person to call and complain, but I wanted to know if I was supposed to ask for it since I thought it came in the pita. I didn't have time to walk all the way back to get the sauce. Not only did they deliver the sauces to me but they included a coupon for 20% off. Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch afterwards and they gained a repeat customer for amazing service!

Loved Eat-A-Pita since the first time my boyfriend & I came here! We didn't even know it existed until we walked by. We looked at their menu in the window & decided to give it a shot. We've been back numerous times! My boyfriend always gets the rotisserie chicken club because he loves it so much! I've had the Mediterranean veggie pita (amazing) & the "Nature's Way" salad which is the best salad I've ever had in my life! Honestly .. the first time I had it I was blown away. The pita chips & hummus are amazing as well. Staff is great & always friendly. Haven't been down to the city in a while but I can't wait to come back! =)

I definitely loved the food here. I went for lunch one day with a coworker who frequented this establishment and said I had to try it. He introduced me to the owners who were very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the turkey burger because it was very juicy and the mixture of flavors was awesome. Get there early because the lunch crowd is nuts.

Dropped in for lunch the other day with some friends from work, and I have to say that I was impressed. While a smidge pricey (around $10 with for a pita and a drink), I was very happy with the quality of the food. I got the Bacado with turkey bacon, bell peppers, carrots and cucumbers. I hate when places skimp on the avocado, so I was pleasantly surprised when this guy came loaded with think, delicious slices. It was also nice that they opted for red pepper, just the little bit better ingredient that makes something taste that much better. Its a great new option for lunch in the area

My favorite thing to get at Eat-A-Pita is the side of Hummus that comes with a Pita, Tomatoes and Cucumber. The hummus is perfect in its texture and consistency, and the flavors are all there. The pitas are fresh and so are the vegetables. That in itself is a meal for me. However, my only concern is one time when I did this Hummus side with one add-on for both me and my friend, the bill came out to a whopping $18.00 and I was a bit surprised but felt a bit uncomfortable to ask. Everything else seems to work in this place and the Hummus itself is a 5-star, and will still be one of my go to places for Hummus cravings but no add ons next time.

I know my "old" review is only four days old, but I stopped in here for lunch again today and it definitely deserves an upgrade. I'm not sure if they read my last review about the sprouts, but they're now listed as a possible veggie choice so you can now choose for no sprouts. Yay! Also, I got the roasted chicken today and it was nice big chunks of freshly roasted chicken, unlike the deli style turkey I got last time. It was seasoned well and was juicy on it's own and when taken in a bite with a bunch of fresh veggies and sauce, it was exceptionally good. I raved about the pepper-parmesan pour in my last review and I got it again today. It was just as good as the last time. I wanted to try something else so I asked if I could get two pours, mentioning that it was fine if they had to charge me extra. The girl behind the counter said it's no problem and that she could just give me two. I opted for the fig balsamic vinaigrette as my second. When I pulled it out of the bag, I was a big shocked to see how "creamy" the fig balsamic vinaigrette was, as I was expecting more of a salad dressing type. That wasn't a bad thing, just worth noting. It was nice and sweet and worked well with my pita. I didn't use much of it, though, because I was too busy making sweet, sweet love noises to my pepper parmesan sauce.

After all the time I spend at Eat A Pita, I'm not sure what surprises me more: that I have yet to write a Yelp review or that Jamie has not made me an honorary employee by association. When I started working on 12th street, Eat A Pita was still in the works but I was excited to see a healthy lunch spot with TONS of veggie options coming into the neighborhood. My expectations were exceeded. Eat-A-Pita is not your typical falafel joint; in fact, they don't even have falafel or anything fried. The options are endless, healthy, and full of flavor! Eat-A-Pita has many soup, sandwich, and salad options to choose from, but I think the best thing to start with is a build your own pita. You select your protein, anything from tuna salad to marinated tofu (my favorite is the roasted garlic hummus), your vegetables: you should get all of the veggies...its no extra charge! My suggestion is to get the oven roasted tomatoes instead of the raw ones, they are roasted in house and I see them in my dreams. Finally, you pick a pour, which are the dressings. All on your choice of a White or Wheat Pita. Now, when I say I spend a lot of time here, I would say I am here twice a week at least. This being said, I have sampled much of what Eat-A-Pita has to offer...and as a vegetarian, it is refreshing to have so many options in one establishment. Not to be missed: The veggie chili (not like your typical chili, but WOW, its in a league of its own), the Market Salad (simple, fresh, yummy), and my new addiction: The Quinoa Salad. The soup specials change almost daily, and are always delicious. All in all, I'd say after my home, and my job, Eat-A-Pita just might be the place I spend most of my time. Maybe that makes me a loser, but the crew at Eat-A-Pita just keeps me coming back. They always provide great customer service, and if you become a familiar face, they will remember you and your dietary preferences. Jamie, the owner is a sweetheart and I am glad she brought this scrumptious restaurant to our neighborhood. Bravo, Eat-A-Pita! Keep up the good work, and I, solely, promise to keep you in business!

Eat-A-Pita is another business I checked out during the Philly Yelp In It To Thin It Challenge. I was so happy with the samples they gave us, I HAD to come back to check out a pita. I got a bacado (bacon and avocado, how can you go wrong?) pita with all of the veggies and some sort of balsamic on the side. If you get all of the veggies, I'm pretty sure it's your daily vegetable intake. And, unlike another sandwich chain that boasts the same, these vegetables aren't gross at all. The only thing I can say that is slightly negative is that this pita was messy. Get a billion napkins or just take a fork to it...I'm very glad that I got the dressing on the side (do they put the dressing on it for you? I can't even remember but either way I'm glad it was on the side) The good thing is that it's messy because it's totally stuffed with delicious things! All of the ingredients are extremely fresh and crisp. I was incredibly full by the end of this. That pita kept me full for HOURS and I will definitely be back for more pitas. I will also be back for the quinoa salad because that was amazing too.

Great vegetarian and vegan options- even gluten free pita! Glad to see a veg and health friendly option in this neighborhood. I got the vegan panini and it was tasty. There were many other items I want to try so I will definitely go back. Quick service if you get there a little before the lunch rush. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I would have loved it to be a tiny bit cheaper (it was $10 for one sandwich) but I guess that's the going price these days and you're paying for higher quality ingredients.

I rarely leave reviews, but I have to for this spot. They should be way busier than they are! The veggies are super fresh, the tofu and meats are tasty and interesting without being over seasoned or too salty. Same goes for the pours (dressings you add to your pita). The variety is ridiculous. I also love that the staff is friendly without being fake. I tend to go for the pesto tofu with all the veggies minus scallions and the charred tomato vinaigrette, although there are tons of fancy and non-fancy combos that I plan on trying. I spend around $10 every time and have no complaints! I'd rather spend $10 on a delicious/healthy/filling pita than $6 or $7 on a deli sandwich made from crap. As a fitness instructor I love finding places to grab lunch that offer healthy yet filling meals. Teaching multiple classes per day, I work up an appetite, but hate eating junk. It's a great place for a post workout meal or for whenever. Is it the place to go if you're on a super tight budget? No, but it also isn't going to break the bank. It is worth it!

I really like the food here. Not too salty, not stingy with the meat or the veggies, delicious! I am currently enjoying a chicken coconut curry soup, which is chock full of chicken! That makes me happy. The pitas here are great too, and if you get them with "all the veggies," you have a hearty and healthy meal.

I am literally here every day. Im defintatly surprised i don't have my own bowl and spoon there. I work on 12th street and the first thing i think of is" Hmmm whats the soup today?" Mind you this is at 8 am. I love that i can get a healthy, and YUM-FRIGGIN TASTIC meal there. Jaime and Ralph are amazing. Its so rare you find a place where the people are actually enjoying themselves. Everyone who works their is better then gold. Ok now the food, its amazing. Im addicted to the soups there, fresh, healthy, always perfect seasoned and with a side of there house made Pita chips, you really cant get better. The pitas themselves are equally as awe-inspiring. I highly recommend letting them surprise you and having them come up with a custom pita. You cant be disappointed. The Bonus: its all fresh and healthy!!! I dont think i can fit in how great this place is, amazing food , awesome staff, always a winning combination. Go, Eat, youll see. now back to my soup!!!

EDIT: I just used Eat-A-Pita for a catering order and it was great - on time, plenty of food, super yummy and healthy, and some great little touches like forks wrapped in napkins with twine. 6 stars! Wow, delicious! Tons of vegetarian options + friendly, chill staff = I will be back here every week. I got the soy bacon and tofu sandwich (and asked for avocado to be added on), and it was SCRUMPTIOUS and also, huge. I took half of it home and had it for dinner with a salad. My lunch partner got the veggie sandwich (I forget the name, the one that has like a thousand veggies in it) and loved it as well. I have also been back to try the Bacado (avocado with soy bacon - or regular bacon of course) and it's super flavorful, totally filling... craveable! I am super excited for this to be in my neighborhood.

It's tasty, definitely better than Maoz around the corner, and friendly. However, it is a bit pricey for an upscale fast food joint, which shouldn't exceed $10. It's also somewhat slow and unorganized at lunch time. They seem to take a lot of orders over the phone, which is great, but shouldn't come at the expense of those dining in. In other words, I shouldn't see an order processed over the phone after mine, and that order somehow showing up at the cash register first. I actually think they lost my order because two other customers behind me received their orders first. I'm a really patient person and I wouldn't have thought twice about it had someone said something. Considering how friendly and personable the cashier was to everyone else, I was kind of hoping for a simple, "Whew, sorry that took so long, yours got a little lost!" I would have laughed, she would have laughed, and I would have come back tomorrow. It was still delicious, so maybe I'll be back the day after tomorrow.

I am slightly addicted to Eat-A-Pita. I have eaten here 3 times in the last week. The staff is very friendly. I usually get the combo. This is "Make your own Pita" and a side. I have tried the quinoa salad and the farro salad. They are both delicious and you get a very large serving. I love vegetables so I always go with "all the veggies". For the picky eater you may say "they don't give you much" I say eat your veggies and you will have plenty to eat! They also accept LevelUp which i am a big fan of!

Friendly staff, and a delicious Mediterranean Veggie pita pocket: very good hummus and olives, and nicely stuffed. My friend got the same, but added lamb and green onions and they really piled it all on (in?). I actually mentioned preferring this pita pocket to the one I get-and-doctor at Maoz, though I did miss Maoz's fries.

I love this place. I love that its got a sweet hippie vibe - it reminds me of being a kid in California during the 70's. I love that the owner is there behind the counter all the time and knows exactly where everything comes from (she even has some hallal meat). . Speaking of my hippie roots, they pile the veggies on here - ranging from really super fresh (first couple of visits) to fresh enough (last visit). It's fast fresh healthy lunch at $8 and lots of variety. But the food during 3 visits was pretty different each time. The curry chicken salad was so phenomenally good the first time - fresh, sweet light chicken and perfect dressing. The rotisserie chicken the last time was dry and weird. The Mediterranean garlic hummus-cucumber-feta thing was perfect, but the cookie was undercooked. Also, I know you cant call yourself a closet hippie and then complain about cleanliness, but maybe the floor could use an extra sweep or two throughout the day? All in all, love it. She should advertise more - I stand at that bus stop 10 times a week and never knew the place was there until about a month ago.

I'm obsessed. They have gluten-free pitas and pita panninis!! How did I not know that when I have been living 1 block away since July?! This is a game changer. The food is so fresh and delicious. I can't wait to go back there and try everything on the menu that I haven't been able to eat in years due to celiac dietary restrictions. Plus, their salads look delish too. I'm excited to have finally found this place!

I stopped into eat-a-pita during my lunch break because I had passed it on my way to work and it looked perfect for lunch. I ordered a wheat pita with rotisserie chicken, most of the veggies, avocado and feta. It's definitely moderately priced for the portion size and quality of the food. I really loved it- the vegetables were fresh, the chicken was flavorful and juicy, and the pita was stuffed. Quick service too! I was in and out in 5 minutes. I definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch or inexpensive dinner, and I look forward to trying it again!

Love it here. The service is great and the restaurant (including the bathrooms) is always clean. I have never been during peak hours, but for quick-service shop, there is plenty of seating. So far I have had quite a few things off their menu. Both the tuna salad and the Astoria curry chicken salad are delicious. The hummus is to die for. Literally the best I've ever had. I don't know what kind of magic they bake into their pita chips, but I frequently find myself craving just a side order of chips and hummus. I've also had their shrimp po' boy, salmon croquettes and lamb shawarma pitas. I like that they grill each pita to order, warming your sandwich just the perfect amount. The pours always add a nice touch (go with the lemon thyme or tomato). I've also eaten the chicken mole and muffuletta paninis. Mole sauce is really flavorful (and impressive since it's not coming from someone's Mexican grandmom). I've also had the vegetarian chili with quinoa. So hearty that I didn't notice the lack of ground meat. Desserts are always delicious, and I like that I can buy one normal sized cookie or brownie after my sandwich. Stops me from eating a days worth of calories in chocolate chips after making the healthy choice for lunch. Don't forget to check out their lunch combo (pick your own pita plus a side or soup). For 10 bucks, you can eat a filling, delicious, healthy meal, or you can eat fast food around the corner, with a dollar to spare and digestive issues for the day. I'll go with Eat A Pita. Will be back again and again. So keep the hummus and olive salad coming!

I watched this place being built and was super psyched to give it a try and was not disappointed! I made my my own pita sandwich with tuna, lots of veggies and ranch. It was outstanding. Fresh and well made. I also ordered the veggie chili which was delicious. Served with perfectly toasted and flavored pita chips. Great for on the go and for sit down. Well priced and a fresh, clean atmosphere.

Specialty Pita sandwiches, with a twist. Like Maoz, but with much more options, and better presentation. They have a big, slightly overwhelming menu, so I recommend starting off with one of thier specialty sandwiches before you move on to create your own. I tried the shrimp po'boy with roumelade and I will say that I will be back for this sandwich. They do have to layer the ingredients, so you might get all shrimp in your first few bites, then all tomatoes. The pita chips are pretty tasty, although very hard so i recommend getting the hummus. The hummus was straightforward with no frills. They give you a lot, so add some to your sandwich if you want, or just load it on your chips. Unfortunately, it is a bit pricey. Specialty sandwiches are $9-$11, plus chips/hummus and a drink will run you close to $20.

Eat A Pita is my favorite place to eat post work out...It's comforting to know that I am enjoying fresh whole foods that are combined in such an innovative, delicious way. I'd say the spinach Cobb salad is one of my favorites( topped off with a yummy helping of the curry chicken salad), and the freshly made cookies are the stuff dreams are made of...

This is my absolute favorite lunch place, and my company orders from the pretty much weekly. They cater to pretty much any taste, which is great when you're ordering for 10-20 people. Their "Spinach Cobb Salad" has become a bit of an obsession, as I don't eat pork and this is the only one that I've found that uses turkey bacon, which is odd considering how prevalent it is here in Philly. The other amazing thing about the salad is the mix of veggies, all of which are fresh and super delicious.

I would give this place 5 stars just for the Fig Vinaigrette topping. It is possilby the best thing I have ever had on a Pita and it goes with everything. I should probably review the rest of the place too. The concept is cool...they have menu items, but I always go for the "build it yourself" pita. The veggies and the meats are always fresh, and the owners are really dedicated and very nice.

I used to frequently inhabit the Pita Pit in Center City, hence my sadness and frustration when they shut it down a while back. I figured this place might be my new hot spot for pitas, but I wasn't thrilled. They were affordable enough and large in size, but the toppings weren't great. They had the standard staples but I was a little confused because they had a number of salads and paninis that had additional ingredients that aren't offered with the pitas. For instance, the only option for lettuce with the pita was iceberg, but they offered arugula with the salads. I didn't notice this until after ordering, so maybe if I had asked they would have accommodated. Pita Pit still wins for me.

I have been to Eat-A-Pita several times and it is a shame that this place does not get more business. I will be recommending this place to to all of my like minded health conscious friends. What a great find Eat-A-Pita gets three stars alone for serving up reasonably priced healthy food in an area surrounded by high calorie laden options just doors away. The standouts I have had so far have been: 1. The Vegetarian Chili; superbly delicious trust me when i tell you that you won't miss the meat....and this is coming from a carnivore! 2. The Blackened Shrimp Po' Boy; I died and gone to heaven! The shrimp are fresh and succulent and you get a good amount for the price. 3. The Trio Salad; I finally found my healthy Poo Poo platter lol It has all of the big hitters Veggie Salad, Tuscan Tuna Salad, Hummus, Curry Chicken, and Pita Chips. Word of advice get the Lemon-Thyme pour it is absolutely refreshing!!

I've only had delivery from Eat-A-Pita, and I must say that their service is amazing! They don't deliver on Saturdays, but always make an exception for me since I work a couple blocks away. The food is pretty good, but the pitas tend to get a bit dry since they tend to be light handed with the sauce. Just a tip: sauce never hurt anyone before, so adding a bit more sauce won't kill us. The hummus is delicious though. I ask for the regular pita to dip with it, instead of the hard-my manager almost broke her teeth-pita chips. A good place to order from when you want a healthier option.

The bright interior caught my attention on a gloomy day as I was rushing past on my way to an appointment. Stopping just long enough to check out the menu on the window, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options. I made sure to double back for lunch later that day! This place has something for everyone, including the vegan and vegetarian people (the only folk who really matter to me anyhow!). I picked up a marinated tofu panini with fresh arugula, vegan pesto, and soy bacon. It pretty much rocked. It looks like an upscale deli but with seating... so I did not expect much from the staff but they were courteous, interactive, and conscientiousness. It was a great meal. Keep marinating... I'll be back soon!

Eat - A - Pita has an awesome staff, with great food options. This place definitely beats your old "pita" joint, by a mile. Soups, paninis, salads, and more! Their quick, friendly service is much appreciated - especially during my busy work days! I will continue to be a fan, as long as they are here.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I couldn't even finish my chicken and bacon pita. I will definitely try again based on the other positive reviews. Maybe it was an off night, but the chicken was not good at all, downright bad.

Ok...so I can tell I'm in the minority here, but I just had the worst salad ever. I asked for the Cobb salad, but requested that they hold the walnuts. I also asked them to add grilled chicken. I'm someone who watches calories, carbs, etc.,so I can appreciate them not breading or drowning the chicken in oil, but there was NO SEASONING on the grilled chicken whatsoever. It was so bland, not to mention dry. I was really surprised. Additionally, the hard boiled eggs were actually soft boiled. I know some people really like that, I'm just not one of them. So this bland chicken (which added $4 to a salad that was already $9 by the way) and these eggs with undercooked yolks just did not combine to give me a positive experience. This was not money well spent. When I went in I was actually on my way to a nearby Cosi. Having now had my lunch, I wish I had stuck to my original plan.

Eat A Pita is amazing...soups, salads, paninis, pitas, and more. Tasted alit if menu items all good, all fresh, and healthier than most other places...highly recommend it.

No complaints at all about the food here, its delicious and fresh, but Eat A Pita is way too expensive for the portion size you get. $8-$9 bucks for a pita plus an additional $1 for toppings like cheese and avocado. In this neighborhood you have to have a more competitive price point, especially when you're competing with Jake's Sandwich Board, same price for 2x's the portion, and Mao's, same portion for half the price.

I love pitas so I stopped here for lunch on a weekday and was pleasantly satisfied with the decision. The service was quick but the place was rather empty for a lunch hour. My co-worker and I both had the Gobbler, I thought it was very good - maybe a little on the dry side but overall pretty decent. Everything tasted fresh and I would go back here again.

Fresh veggies, large meat portions and reasonable prices. Perfect for the health conscious meal for someone tired of the typical sandwich options. I went with the special Turkey Burger Pita and orzo salad and enjoyed both. Also was completely full after eating ( a rare occurrence as it is typically hard to satisfy my above average appetite). Open until 9pm on weeknights making it a convenient spot for both lunch and dinner. I am already looking forward to my next of many trips back to this place. Hopefully they open more of these throughout the city...

The lamb pita is awesome. If I coulda had a beer with it, it would be a five star experience. They are very generous with the meat and other ingredients, and the price makes it a great steal. Plenty of seating and great service. I'll be back often.

This place is nothing special. The pita's were mediocre at best. The service was good and the bathrooms were clean. But overall I am sure I will not be back.

So overpriced! I was excited to see that they offered soy bacon but honestly it was disgusting... It tasted like it had the same spices on the outside as chile mango and was so sweet. My pita did not have the dressing on it that I ordered. After tax I paid almost $10 for a pita filled with dry veggies and the worst soy bacon I have ever had. One star because the veggies were fresh. Also the girl who took my order wiped her nose on her hand and then proceeded to make sandwiches. She put a glove on but it's still gross. I won't be going here again, it's way overpriced.

Excited to have a great veggie friendly pita place near work! I stopped by here for the first time today but I'm sure to make it a regular lunch spot. Just about everything on the menu looked great giving me lots of options to choose from. I had the Tofu BLT which had soy bacon in it. The tofu was marinated in a pesto sauce and was super tasty. The soy bacon was among the best I've had- just the right texture and taste. It came with a lemon vinaigrette on the side that was a great complement to the pita. The price $9 including $1 for added avocado. A little pricey but worth the portion and quality of food.

Always quiet in here. I hope I only come by at off times. Delicious food and an extensive enough menu that it'll be awhile before I repeat anything. Bacado (bacon avocado) pita is a good start.

I would never go back here. This place is an overpriced rip off. The lamb shwarma ( 11$ +tax) had overcooked dry meat without any seasoning (not even adequate salt) The lettuce and cucumbers were wilted and old. The yoghurt sauce was borderline sweet and there was no seasoning in any of the other ingredients. For such an overpriced dish it was a huge disappointment. No wonder the place was so deserted, I should've known.

Stopped by today for the first time and tried the blackened shrimp po' boy. Service was fast, comfy seating and, most importantly, the food was really good. Just the right amount for lunch. Will definitely be back.

Fresh veggies, quality meats and great service. I'm surprised ppl think an $8 whole pita sandwich with good quality veggies is expensive. It's a completely different concept than maoz and a lot healthier too. We ordered the rotisserie chicken for which the guy spent quite some time pulling it off the bone then reheating it before stuffing it into the pita. It came overflowing with crunchy veggies and a really good charred tomato sauce. The pocket deal--pita and soup or side salad for $10 was definitely filling even for my husband. And I didn't feel bad about indulging in a donut for dessert :)

Not bad. Guy who made the pita was friendly and cute! Woof!

A place like this was much-needed in the area. It is a great value as you basically get an entire salad inside the pita when you check "all the veggies" and the meat is great quality. Plus if you belong to Optimal or 12th Street gym you get 10% off. My only knock on the place is that they tend to only have one person working so sometimes you wait a bit.

I tried Eat a Pita the day after Christmas and it was wonderful! I had the turkey special penni and it was soo good. It has turkey, swiss cheese, thousand island and this pickled cabbage that i can't stop thinking about! My lunch partners had pitas and raved about them! The folks behind the counter were very nice and friendly! You should check this place out you won't be sorry!

Checked it out this afternoon. While the flavors were very good I had issues with the protein in my sandwich as did the person I was with. My rotisserie chicken panini had bones and grizzle in it. My friend's lamb shawarma was completely raw in places and inedible. Such a disappointment.
