Having spent 6 years in a state (Texas) that borders the place cajun food hails from (Louisiana), I was spoiled beyond belief by restaurants like The Boiling Crab, Bayou Twist, and numerous others. I was saddened when I moved back to Philly and realized that Cajun food (mainly cajun seafood) was a rarity on the East Coast. So imagine my joy when a good friend told me about this place (I immediately yelped it, of course. Good reviews, green light!) Upon arrival, I was greeted with the familiar aroma of cajun spices. I was giddy with excitement. I wanted to try everything! I ordered pho (recommended by fellow yelpers), cajun wings & fries, 2 pounds of shrimp, a pound of snow crab legs and half a pound of sausage--all in spicy Caiun sauce. I had to remind myself not to drool as the waitress (who was very nice!) returned with our order. Here's a quick breakdown of the food for everyone who does not want to read my verbatim: Shrimp, Crab and sausage: The Cajun sauce was TOO sweet. The first few bites were okay but a few minutes later I found myself not dipping the seafood in the sauce anymore. I could not taste anything but sugar and butter. Pho: Nothing spectacular. Average. Cajun wings & fries: Nothing Cajun about them, NO BUENO. My foodie friend and I were sad after our meal. We thought we had discovered our new spot, but sadly, we have to keep searching.

This place is weird... I know it's changed owners numerous times. And has tried a few different themes and styles of food. I went here wanting shrimp cocktail and they were out. Which kinda devastated me, to be ever so dramatic about thing. I think I got chicken fingers and just sobbed into them because I had to move from outside to sit at the bar because a heard of unruly children was swarming my table gobbling like maniacs. My friend got pho and said it was legit and the older woman bartender was nice and made fun of everything with us keep trying. You'll get it !

This place was nice inside. Loved all the tvs. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. We ordered two pounds of shrimp, Cajun fries, sausages, and corn. The shrimp was undercooked so we returned it and they didn't charge for us. The shrimp was still clear and jelly feeling. The sauce was okay. The Cajun fries needed more Cajun. And the corn was too soft. The only good thing was that the waitress was nice. Not coming back!

Typical bar in the Piazza. When you enter from the Piazza there is a bar to your right with a good amount of taps on the wall. Another section of the bar lines the right side of the larger middle section of the building. There wasn't anything about this place that stood out but they did have some decent beer selections. They have a breathalyzer machine on the wall that you can use for $1. If you check in with the yelp app you get a $2 draft.

I can't explain how happy I am that I came into Crabbies to have a drink after such a long day at work. I have never been here but was interested in using my 10% off discount from my City Fitness, Perx App. The bartender Brian was super nice and made THE coldest refreshing martini. I will be honest and say that I am particular about my drinks and was a little nervous because it was busy. However I felt like he treated me as if I were the only person at the bar and paid close attention to my martini request. I will say just as a semi negative observation.....I did not order food myself but people around me did. It seemed as if there was a disconnect between the kitchen staff and the actual order because I heard a little side remarks about "they forgot.." But the food smelled amazing and I can not wait to come back and eat.

This is a really nice place to go for drinks and hang out. The inside is kind of small, but the outdoor seating definitely makes up for that space. Perfect summertime hang out. I really wanted to try the crawfish bucket, but was reluctant in doing so, so I had the bacon cheeseburger. You know the food is good when something that is so basic, on the menu, is delicious. I regret not getting the crawfish bucket! They have a great beer selection as well. This place is definitely a great place to go if you're looking to have a chill time drinking some beers while enjoying some food.

no complaints about their northeast location. I thought I knew what to expect. this rating is almost entirely based on the service (wait staff and possibly kitchen staff). we were seated promptly because there were only about 5-6 other parties there and the waitress took our order right away. this is what we asked for (in order): a coke and a coffee half a dozen oysters 2lbs blue crab 1 lb shrimp side order potatoes catfish appetizer breaded chicken sandwich several minutes go by and we are made aware that the kitchen is out of blue crab and potatoes. it's a Wednesday night at 730pm mind you. new order: (in place of boiled seafood) shrimp and snow crab bucket side of white rice another 5 minutes go by and our waitress comes to tell us about their outdoor seating policy. a credit card is required to sit at a table. this is now 20 mins or so without drinks. after about another 10 minutes our first order arrives: the breaded chicken sandwich. we inquire about our drinks and appetizers. the waitress says they'll be right out. still it takes another 5-10 minutes to receive a coke and a plate of oysters. her next trip involves bringing out the iced coffee. we are both starving so we swallow the sandwich and fries. we are nearly finished before the catfish appetizer arrives. shortly following the catfish is a bucket of clams and crawfish delivered by our waitress which is not what we ordered. a girl who was not our waitress made eye contact and tried to help. she asked if I ordered a bucket #2 and I replied that I didn't know the number but it was supposed to be snow crab and shrimp. our waitress came to apologize and said that "the kitchen" made the wrong order. the girl who was not our waitress brought over bucket #2 which I found out was crawfish, clams and shrimp. I explained to her again that I did not order that and her response was "well that's what she (the waitress) put in". moments later I finally received my correct bucket of seafood. I ate it happily. I received no claw crackers for my crab legs and I had to ask for lemons twice. other than that I left full and only a little annoyed. I would like to warn you all before eating here that you would be better off driving to their northeast location. I was not here during a World Cup game so the place was pretty empty and they still could not seem to manage timely service.

We sat inside as the outdoor area was full. It took our server(Melissa R.) 15 minutes to come over to get our drink order. No greeting, no hello...just, "Are you ready?" Long wait for the food but that's ok- it was good. Expect to get your hands messy(plastic bibs provided) if you order the seafood combos that are served in bags with your choice of seasoning. Our server was awful but we were helped out by another server(Cindy- kind Asian girl) who was great! Overall- food was good, freshly made(not that filling though), service left a lot to be desired.

I've been here only 2 times but each time, it's been great! The service is always good which I'm a huge critic when it comes to service. I always get the bucket with crawfish, clams, and shrimp. The sauce is AMAZING. I sadly didn't get a lot of corn, sausage, or potatoes. Maybe next time. But I always love coming here. Great beer selection as well. Me and my husband are from Florida so we know good cheap seafood prices. But I don't mind paying extra for it here if I always leave satisfied!

This is a nice place to go and grab drinks. They have a lot of nice out side seating. And have a great beer selections and a bunch of IPA. They have a very good seafood menu. I happen to get the bacon cheese burger. And it was very good. The waiting staff was very nice and very attentive. All around great experience. I would highly recommend it. And defiantly would come back.

Not very well organized overall, I came here for the World Cup Final. We arrived and they asked my party to hold on while they found a table. Five minutes later, we were told we could get a park bench with a parasol. One minute later, we were told we could not go there and were not given a firm solution for a new table. We left. If you can't find us a table (three hours before the game started) when there are at least a dozen available options, I'm not going to find a place that can actually give us a seat

Beautiful Friday night. Eagles preseason game on the jumbotron. residents walking their dogs, kids playing Outside seating is great. The selection of beer bottle and draft was impressive tried apricot ale, pumpkin ale, lemon cider etc. Now on to the food very attentive waitress but the food took forever but soooooo worth the wait. We chose the seafood bucket for 2, with 3 different types of crab clusters, clams crawfish mussels and shrimp. Unfortunately no substitution, my friends isn't a fan of clams (more for me) and the sausage was no where to be found. Oh and get the lemon Cajun sauce. Yum! I anticipate a trip back on a Sunday before it gets to cold!

Calling all seafood lovers (craw-fish, crab legs, clams, mussels...all of that good stuff)! Finally! A place with delicious seafood prepped w/ their homemade cajun seasoning. From their original to burning spice sauce - this place offers the perfect environment and a variety of yummy craft beers to enjoy with your scrumptious food. They also offer PHO...yes, PHO! I am generally a little pickier about the broth since my mama always make the best homemade pho. However, I am actually impressed with how tasteful their pho is here at Crabby Cafe & Sports Bar, especially being that this is not what they specialize in. I highly recommend this place! This place is a MUST try, folks! You'll be an addict, like me.

If you get one of the seafood buckets, it can be very messy, but very delicious. Have been here a few times, and they never disappoint!

Me and the homies went to Crabby's cafe & bar and grill for Monday night football (EAGLES GAME) and was pleasantly surprised. The service was great, the food was awesome, they had tons of beers on tap and drink specials. What more to can you ask for to cheer on the home teams domination victory?

I agree with John S's post below on tonight's service...complete disinterest from the staff to serve me and my friend also. It appeared frequently the bartenders were intentionally avoiding interaction with us, even when we were the only 2 sitting at the bar. Also, ordered some food, bland and banal, nothing special. Won't be coming back. Almost forgot, serving high quality beer in plastic cups? Poor decision.

Overall: The service was embarrassingly awful. Good: Walked in for the first time and liked the look and all the tvs. Not too crowded, less than half the tables were occupied. Bad:The bartender looked lost. There was no host. Took five minutes to get seated. There were no handles on the sinks in the men's bathroom. I ordered a water to start and my friend ordered a beer. The beer came in a minute. The water came after twenty. Ordered two bowls of pho, and waited about thirty plus minutes before it came. How long does pho take to make? Didn't see our waitress once in that time. Watched two waitresses dig through the trash can in front of the bar for a food slip they misplaced. Watching them use the computer made me shake my head, they were there for five minutes at a time and looked lost looking for food buttons. The manager needs to a. Show up, and b. Properly train the employees. Pho was ok. I might try the seafood if I'm forced to go again at request of friends, but I might grab food next door in that case. Everybody else eating there that night looked miserable too. Maybe it was because it was a Monday after a holiday weekend.

Place is great for a drink and crawfish! I love the amount of televisions with multiple sports channels! The cabby wings and casian fries are so good! I can't really judge the pho, I never really had it.

At first it was a sports bar with a regular bar food, but now they added this seafood cajun mix in there and now its actually really good. The cajun seasoning on their food is pretty good, i.e. fries. I ordered the fried catfish basket last time and the fish to breading ratio was good. I also tried the spicy chile wings, which are FULL wings like Moriartys, and they were delicious, especially with my side of rice. I heard their pho and boiling seafood is good too, which I'll have to try next time. I don't think there's anywhere else in Phily you can get this type of boiling seafood. I like the location as its in the Piazza, which seems to have alot going on. I also like the tv's and outdoor seating which is great for games, especially the World Cup going on right now. Good improvement, Crabby's!

This is a very unique seafood bar with varieties on the menu that range from PHO (vietnamese soup) to burgers all the way to all the seafood that you can imagine. I personally ordered a seafood combination of crab legs, steamed clams, crawfish, and pick&peal shrimp. The entire combo was mixed in cajun seasoning and came out wrapped in a bag with a bucket for disposal of the shells. The food was great! The mix was pretty one sided as I got A LOT of shrimp , good amount of crawfish, some clams, and very little crab legs. I felt like I was shorted on the best stuff and spent $45 on this meal. For that price they could of added some more crab legs. I didn't like is that you have to eat everything with your hands and I left completely covered in sauce all way down my pants and shirt. I did enjoy the atmosphere and I loved my waitress Julie, she was very friendly. They have a pretty large beer selection and a good outside seating area. I would come back here again but would order differently.

I recently came here to watch a world cup game. The atmosphere was laid back with plenty of outdoor seating, and a good beer selection on tap. The menu boasted a selection of Cajun, Vietnamese and bar food. The service was slow, but worth the wait. I ordered the crabby wings with a side of white rice, and it was delicious! The wings were well-seasoned, and absolutely hit the spot. Prices are also very reasonable. I would come back for the crabby wings.

My favorite item on he menu has got to be the mussels. They where large and perfectly cooked in a delicious red sauce. Some places over cook and shrink the mussels but this place does it better than any other place I've been to. Other seafood items were great as well in their terrific sauces

This place is awesome. Their seafood buckets are well worth the money. The seasoning are delicious. The Jose wings are some of the best wings I've ever had. I spent $160 and felt I truly got my monies worth.

best crawfish boil i've EVER had. i used to HATE crawfish before a couple of friends brought me to this place and assured me that their crawfish is delicious. it's true-there are lots of random items on the menu like vietnamese pho, and chicken fingers. i actually ordered the chicken fingers too and they were yummy. i can't attest to the pho because i didn't have it. back to the boil, i had a combination of crawfish, shrimp, sausages, corn and potatoes in mine.. the sauce was the spicy one and it was to die for! we ordered rice on the side and it was DELICIOUS with the sauce. the crawfish were big and juicy.. and very fresh.. i loved everything about this spot..the ambiance is beautiful..gives you a sports bar feel..and its located in a piazza so it's beautiful when the weathers great to sit outside. they also have a great selection of beer and always have booze specials-which is always fun. i went there another time and they advised me that the crawfish wasn't fresh but frozen. love how they told me that in advance. i was sad i couldn't eat crawfish but the shrimp and everything else was just like the first time-DELICIOUS. i crave this place once in a while..if i lived closer to philly, i'd probably be here every week. i'm so glad my friends brought me here and turned me into a believer of crawfish. love this place and highly recommend it!

Crabby Cafe & Sports Bar has a nice setting in the Piazza but that about all it has going for it. From the time we walked in the service was poor. Food was over flavored along with the Calamari being over fried. It was like chewing on rubber. Burger was poorly cooked along with over seasoned. The craft beer list was sub par with 3-4 month old releases on the lines. I don't recommend this restaurant other than grabbing a shot and a beer for a event in the Piazza.

This was my first time here. My son and I really enjoyed the food! I had the cafe special PHO noodles. Omgeeee delicious! My son had the cajun wings and fries. Delicious!!!! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back but for the seafood.

We went there on opening night, so it's expected that there will be some hiccups, but this was all kinds of bad. As someone who has served in the restaurant industry before, I understand how overwhelming things can get at times, but even with that level of understanding, this was terrible experience. The Good: - Great craft beer selection; they had the Game of Thrones beer! (Delicious!) - Plenty of TVs that you can actually see from just about anywhere - Chicken fingers, not bad - A server (not ours) was great; she actually helped us! - I didn't have to pay for my pho The Bad: - I didn't eat any pho The Ugly: - My pho took over an hour (table next to us, seated after us, got theirs about 45 min before me) - Finally got my pho, and it wasn't even right! I've been served the wrong pho before and it's really not a big deal (it happens) and I just eat it but after an hour.. - Our server was horrifically absent, neglectful and rather snide: 1) she never stopped by (on her own accord) to ask us if we needed anything after she brought over our beers 2) didn't bring anything we asked for (e.g. honey mustard sauce) 3) never cleared our table, then made a fuss about there not being enough room on the table for my pho 4) we'd try to get her attention, and she would just look at us. At one point, she sent someone else over to tell us she'd be there in a minute - she could have just nodded at us to let us.. (didn't come back for at least 15 min) - appeared to be a "cover your ass" move, make it seem like this table is "demanding" so they're in wrong, not me After waiting over an hour, I couldn't enjoy my drink - I hadn't had dinner yet so the alcohol was nauseating on an empty stomach. I'm sure if you had a server that didn't ignore you, you would have a decent experience. They were busy but nothing excuses terrible, snide service. Hopefully everyone else had a less frustrating experience here.

Love love love everything on their menu. Great service and great prices. I loved their crawfish and clams at their other location and was so happy this location serve alcoholic beverages. This is definitely my go to spot for an eccentric taste of seafood and beer. It's in northern liberties so the atmosphere is very inviting.

This used to be my go to place: I came here religiously every week. I started to notice some people complain about the quality dropping. Still, I went here to eat. Past 2 times in 2 weeks. I noticed that they have let themselves go a lot. First off, the hostess comes off very rude. They had us wait 25 mins for a table that wasn't even occupied. Actually, they had 3 tables. So we ordered Cajun fries and our usual shrimp and clams. It took 45 mins, yes 45 mins for fries to come out and they were under seasoned. I needed to ask for more seasoning. Not to mention that the fries came out cold. 20 mins later the seafood comes out. The Cajun spicy seasoning was delicious. I wish I could say about the seafood itself. The shrimp was under cooked. Very chewy, sort of clear and had this seafood smell. Not to mention, the shrimp was old or overlooked bc the shell wouldn't peel off and the shrimp was very mushy. It's sad bc I used to love this place. I won't be coming back.

Love this new little place that popped up in Northern Libs. I'm a seafood lover and the creole' twist that Crabby brings makes me a big fan. They have a unique beer wall and I normally try a different beer when I eat, so I love having the selection. I'm an oyster lover and I'm pretty picky. Loved the Oysters!! Super fresh and delicious. The wings are one of my favorites too, you can order with different sauces. I always get their crabby sauce, which is spicy. They are probably the best wings I've every had (it's an actual entire wing of a chicken), very meaty. I've also had their lobster roll, which was really good also. I've never order Pho, but my friend did and I tried it. It was good and my friend, who's a Pho lover said it was really good, she's been back for it. Besides seafood they have some typical finger foods. I was in there for a play off Eagles game with standing room only and I ordered oysters, wings and french fries...strange combo, but worked out perfectly standing at the bar watching the game with a bear. Servers and bartenders are friendly. During the play off game they were super busy, but still attentive, I couldn't complain. There's tons of t.v.'s so you can see the game from anywhere in the place, which is great. A lot of people sat and ate and stayed at tables drinking, which kind of prevented other people who wanted to sit and eat from doing so, but I guess it would be rude if they kicked customers out of their seats....there's probably a rule against that. After the game crowd cleared out, a video dj came in and started playing some music so my friends and I were able to sit down and have a few drinks and socialize. It was a nice atmosphere! Overall, great experience every time I've been in.

Great food, great atmosphere, a lot of TVs and music! Service and staff are good. I come here at least once every month because my girlfriend loves the crawfish. The price is a little expensive, but reasonable. The crawfish sauce is amazing. I always come here and leave on a very full stomach and satisfied !

I went here twice with groups of friends and I got the pleasure of trying a lot of things on the menu. I tried the snow crabs, shrimp, clams, potato all in spicy flavor. Wow, it was delicious. The food was really fresh and the sauce made it so tasty. When all was done, I was actually taking spoonfuls of the sauce and drinking it! I also had a couple pieces of the chicken wings and some cajun fries. Wings were very good and I would say that it is one of the better places for wings in Philadelphia. The second visit I ate pho. I had few friends who tried the pho at Crabby and they stated that it was very good so I had to try it for myself. As a person who has tried almost every pho place in Philadelphia, I was not disappointed. Their size was gigantic and the broth was very flavorful. Crabby has a wide selection of food on their menu and if I was still local, it would definitely be my place of choice for some great food and drinks.

The food was pretty good here and they have a nice bottle and draft list. It's also a bonus that their outdoor seating is right on the piazza by the big screen. Unfortunately the service/management was AWFUL. Since this is a sports bar, my group went last night to watch the NBA draft. We asked ahead of time if they would have sound and they said yes so we all went over. When the time came, the manager refused to put the sound on. At this point there is another group of 5 who has also asked to have the sound, soon to be joined by 2 other tables with the same request. Still refused. At the time there was just one table eating and then the 15 of us asking for this guaranteeing at least 2 hour of our business. They wouldn't even turn down the outside music so we could hear it on the big screen. We stayed outside because we could hear a little and at this time it was too late to get anywhere else for the first pick. Of the 4 beers we ordered, 3 were out of stock, including Corona! 2 of the replacement beers we tried for were also out. It could have been that the waitress took so long the taps just dried up. The table next to us just gave up and went to the bar for service. Just awful.

Four of us went on 12/27/2014 for dinner. Ordered two of the #5 off the menu which is a seafood steamed pot dinner for 2 consisting of crab leg, shrimp, oysters, sausage, corn, potato and crawfish. We figured this would be enough to feed two people. We ordered the lemon Cajun sauce which was excellent. Item was $50. Here is my problem: we each received ONE crab cluster, ONE half of ear of corn, ONE slice of sausage, ONE small potato, along with six oysters, and about 20 crawfish. If the menu item is listed for 2 people, can anyone tell me why we received only ONE of each item as listed above? Are we suppose to share one crab cluster? How do you share one half of an ear of corn? We asked the server if there was mix up and she said that's the way it is prepared and then told us we could "order more corn". Beer selection was ok but the value of this menu item is not worth it. Gave it a 2 star rating because the place was clean, plenty of tvs, decent beer selection and friendly waitress.

the only spot to get your spicy shrimp and crawfish in a clear plastic bag fix in philly. honestly my mouth is watering again just writing this review. one of my big gripes has to be the price. $25 bucks for 2lbs, which is their "standard" size is pretty steep. i'm assuming they didn't fish those things out of the delaware, or maybe they did. also, while the cajun sauce was buttery, spicy and great with a couple beers, i really have a problem with the mostly ant-sized crawfish in my bag. they kinda looked like sea monkeys. who wants two pounds of delaware river sea monkeys? next time, i'll opt for a pound of cajun skrimps and a couple more beers.

Perfect place to catch a Yankee Game on a Sunny Sunday afternoon. I can always count on the Oysters hitting the Spot. Jordan is always on point behind the bar. He has introduced my beautiful lady and I to some fun off the wall cocktails. We love sitting at the bar on the patio to people watch and enjoy good food and fun. Jordan and Chris are a great team to keep us fed, boozed and entertained! Cheers!!

Family and I were craving seafood, and thanks to Yelp, we ventured into the Piazza to feast on all types of seafood creatures! We went on a Sunday around 1pm, and the place was not crowded. Since it was a pretty warm day, we opted to dine inside. There was the general buzz from the numerous TVs, a large wall full of draft beers, and ample seating both inside and outside. The table was covered with paper, and we were given bibs to protect our clothing. This place means serious "get your hands dirty" business! For our group of six, we ordered a pound of snowcrabs, 2 shrimp po boys, the crabby cafe special pho, the junior bucket in the lemon spicy cajun sauce (crawfish, shrimp, and clams), and the crabby wings. The wait wasn't too long for our food, but it did not come all at once. Wings - I warn you that it had a very strong fish sauce odor! The sauce was spicy, and the size of the wings are larger than average. Probably would order the other style of wings, but we at least tried the Viet-style! Shrimp po boys - According to those who ordered it, it was very good and filling Junior bucket - Came with snow crab legs, but our server said it was added by mistake, and there would be no charge for it! Nice. The bucket could have served two people! Lots of seafood, sausage, and 2 half ears of corn. Sauce was spicy, but the snowcrab was a bit salty for my taste. The biggest surprise was the pho. It arrived in a very large bowl similar to that of a sink basin. We asked the server for extra bowls so we could help our Mom eat the whole thing! The broth was delicious, and the noodles plentiful. Service was very attentive, friendly, and very helpful. The overall experience was great for our first time, and I definitely got my hands dirty! Since this location is a bit out of the way, I can't wait to try their Chinatown location. I'll see you soon, Crabby Cafe!

I was at Crabby Cafe for the second time a few nights ago and I forgot how good it was! As a lover of all things seafood, I truly enjoy eating here. I'm honestly surprised that I've only seen it pretty empty, but maybe it's because of the summer months. Conveniently located in the Piazza, they have outside sitting as well, which is what my girlfriends and I chose to do. You have to at least start off with the Cajun fries, which are basically Chickies and Petes crab fries, minus the amazing cheese sauce! Between five of us, we shared two buckets. We did the #5 and #2. I think if I went back, I would only want shrimp, clams, and crab legs. I'm not a huge fan of crawfish, but it was still good. If you want to know what the best sauce is, it's the crabby Cajun sauce! I could eat 5 pieces of the corn soaked in that sauce all by myself if given the opportunity! We got raw oysters as well which were delish! I didn't care for the Cajun corn (just still to the plain corn soaked in your sauce) and the fried oysters. They weren't bad, but just eh to me. They also have a great selection of beer and I'm hoping to try one the mojito buckets some day! Can't wait for the Chinatown location to open up!!!!!!!!

I have been eating at this place for so many times and I love it. However, I went again today and it wasn't good at all. The crawfish was kinda dead and it has a weird smell. So I went and asked the server if it was fresh one. She said it was . Plus the sauce doesn't Taste right at all. We also ordered the wings which was overcooked and burned. I would like to come back but hopefully it will get better next time. I recommend the beef noodle soup though, that's my favorite meal here!!

I'm usually just here for the pho which is quite good. Every once in a while I'll order something off the bar menu and I always enjoy it. On even rarer occasions I'll order the seafood and it always tastes fresh. There is one strange dichotomy While the entire menu is available anywhere on the premise, the bar is run by one faction and the tables by the other. As a somewhat frequent lone diner I often opt to sit at the bar so as not to take up an entire table for little ole me. I have learned that at Crabby's this is a bad strategy. At the times that I eat there is usually only 1 bar tender and several table servers. The part of the bar where I used to sit is around a bend from the taps and in plain view of the table servers bit not the bar tender. It was a fairly frequent occurrence for me to need something but the table servers ignore me (even though they can see I need something) because I'm the bar tender's responsibility. Meanwhile the bar tender is waiting around the corner doing bar tender stuff and only occasionally remembering me. Once I started requesting a table the service got much more attentive. This Place does have a slight case of schizophrenia though. Is it a Vietnamese pho place? Is it a beer snob place with a bunch of beer taps on a wall? Is it a neighborhood bar? Is it a sports bar with 15-20 tvs adorning the walls? I don't think they really know either.

I'm here for the MayPac fight early, like 2-3 hours early and the serving staff for the patio is so concerned about the reserved tables that haven't shown up, that they neglect to offer service. Melissa, an "entitled" platinum blonde server tells me that (despite having a seat not at the bar) I need to go to the bar to get service. Sorry?! Do I work here? What's your job title again...server? Try servicing the guest!! The food is decent, for bar food. Prices are actually reasonable. But the Piazza stereotypes of amateur-hour are ringing true with the service staff here. Don't bother if you don't have to. Philly is a big city with a lot of great options.

So, I definitely enjoyed the NorthEast location a lot better. A plus about this place is that they accept credit cards and that they have a Happy Hour special on the Oysters. Oh, and they have check in offers, a bar, and really cute decor! HH oysters - I was hoping the size would be as nice and plump as the other location, but it just wasn't. :-( For the size of two of the $1 oyster, it didn't really equal to one of the regular Oysters at other location. Sigh. Crabby Wings - right when it came out, I could really smell the shrimp paste in it. I like shrimp paste in general, but the balance of the flavors wasn't there. It was too overpowering Crawfish - The meat was delicious, but the sauce they cooked it in didn't quite soak into the crawfish, therefore, it was a lil bland. You didn't get the yumminess of the wonderful flavors they use. I wonder if they needed the broth to soak in longer.... And the seasoning they used for after cooking (seasonings in the bag) also wasn't as balanced. It was on the extremely sweeter side than spicy. I think some of the cooks at the other location needs to train some of the ones at this one.

Nestled in the ground floor of the Piazza in Northern Liberties this is a great place for some seafood and drinks! They offer half off draft beers for happy hour with a great craft beer selection :) There is outdoor seating and a smaller indoor seating area with a bar. Ordered the Shrimp and crab bucket made with garlic butter sauce (yummy yummy yummy). They have other sauces to choose from like a spicy-cajun sauce. The shrimp and crab were plentiful and were served with a half ear of corn, small red potatoes and a few slivers of sausage (was a little skimpy on the potatoes and sausage). Overall, though, I loved it! This is a great summer spot to chill out at and relax with some good eats and drinks awhile being outside.

Love it here! There's really nothing better than dining at the out door bar on a beautiful summer night! Chris is always on point! He is great behind the bar. Personable with a shot of witty. Always makes fantastic drinks and attends to the ENTIRE bar without skipping a beat. Fast service and good food. I usually get the Caesar, tonight I got the Caesar and added the crab cake, it was the best crab cake ever! My boyfriend loves to come chill here after a long day to enjoy a beverage and watch sports on one of the many TV's. He really enjoys the Oysters here too!!

Yeah pretty pissed off. I enjoyed this place all last year. Tonight walked in to three bartenders, one older white male grey hair, one taller white male with a man bun/ponytail and a younger woman. Stood there for 15 minutes waiting... Waiting... Waiting... No one in front of me, two friends by my side waiting to spend money... Not even a "hey what can I get you"... Seriously? This is a joke right? I left. No one else is even waiting to be served. The girl bartender is down the other end talking it up with 4 guys who have already been served. Man bun bartender chiming in. Workers hard at not working.

my party of 6 was seated immediately. However, it took about 30 minutes to get our drinks not because the staff didn't come to ask us, but because they listed stuff on menu that they did not have and we had to run through it until they had something. and the food! 45 minutes after we ordered, they finally arrived. I have never seen crawfish as tiny as these, did they just hatch yesterday and caught by this place? Not to mention, DEAD (way before they were cooked) and SOGGY (the mushy rotten kind). For $30-$45 a bucket and we bought 4 to try, we threw away 1/2. The menu said that it comes with potatoes, sausage, and corn. Yes. Exactly 3 potatoes, 2 slices of sausage and 1 corn per bag. not to mention, the seasoning was way off. My friend ordered the congee, very salty. We couldn't taste the hotness in the "burning" or the butter-iness in the garlic & butter. And there is really nothing "cajun" in their food--just very bland! not sure if they taste-tested their foods... don't get me wrong, I give the 1 star because they were "good" at handing us the check and cleaning up after us for the next customers...oh, and my friends finished their fries...either the fries were good, or they were just very hungry while we waited for the foods to arrive. if a craving arises, I recommend going to the northeast location instead...(plus, you don't have to waste time finding parking! :)

It's not every day that you are welcomed to a new city the way I was at Crabby's. I arrived late to the city and was looking to have a few drinks and catch a baseball game on TV. Not only was I presented with an excellent drink selection, but the manager, Chris, was able to recommend me a few selections that I had never tried before and they were all on point! Over dinner, we were discussing our favorite cocktails and I can honestly say that Chris made the best Manhattan I have ever had. Crabby's is now an essential stop every time I come to Philly.

While the ambiance is pretty nice for group outings, I don't think the food is all that great for the price that you pay.

This place came from Cali, and I loved their spicy butter sauce with the fisherman buckets. Four of us ate there for lunch and shared the bucket. Not bad for $45 which included crawfish, snow crab legs, clams, shrimp, potato, corn, and sausage. The butter sauce was just enough spice and we ordered a pound of crawfish to go for $12. I'm not that into crawfish because the meat is so little. Next time it will be the shrimp and snow crab legs!

I went here on a lazy saturday afternoon before the dinner crowd a couple weeks ago. Walked right into and sat on the inside. The friend I was with had a craving for the crab legs (and ordered them). I picked at a couple appetizers (clams and corn) only because I wasn't that hungry. I like the mix of vietnamese food and seafood. Sports in the background tvs and monitors added to the laid back atmosphere. Food was tasty and service was good. I will have to come back here to try other items on the menu, specifically the buckets and the pho.

Cheap buckets of beer! 5 Cornitas (mini coronas) for 10 bucks. They have other beer selections as well. I got the spicy crawfish, it was good but I think the crabby cafe in northeast philly has better flavor. That was the original one and then they opened this one in piazza. If you're in center city philly and have a crawfish craving I'd come here but If you have a car and time on your hands I'd recommend making the trip to the one in NE philly.

I've been to the original location and now I frequent this one for the atmosphere. I love love crawfish and I must say they serve the best in the area! The seasonings are great for every tastebuds. Spicy and sweet, garlicky, extra hot...I.e the "burning' which they took off their menu but they will serve if you ask. Their Pho is good but their wings are pretty tasty! If you are in for something with a kick, you just try their crabby wings. The service is great. Servers are attentive and try to help you decide on flavoring if you need further explanations. And the owners are always around to make sure you are having a wonderful time. Plenty of tvs around for you to watch your games and plenty to drink. I would recommend this to anyone who loves seafood. A great place to bring your group of friends for good eats

Perfect place if you're looking to satisfy a seafood craving with some spice! The bar is tucked away in the corner of the Piazza but once you're there, you're ready to eat! My friends and I went here a few days ago and we're hooked. I love the fact you have a variety of seafood you can order and the seasoning you can chose to accompany each of your choices. They also offer a good selection of drafts and has a nice casual ambience. If you love a decent sauce the Crabby Cajun Spicy is really good with the crab legs, shrimp, clams, etc. If you do get adventurous with the Crabby Cajun Burning, you will have a spicy mouth the whole night. It's delicious but could only do 1 of my orders using that spice. Still delicious! My favorites have been the snow and dungeness crab legs, shrimp and clams. They also offer oysters on the half shell which is fantastic and fresh. I also have to say the portion sizes of each is great. They don't skimp out on the sizing of their seafood or meat of it (better yet). The servers were really friendly and could answer any question to their best knowledge. Generally you'll have to go with your gut instinct on what seasoning you chose, but so far every one I've tried has been a winner. I have yet to try to Pho since I could never get past the amount of seafood I always order but will try the Pho the next time I'm there.

Crabby cafe has to be one of the best seafood restaurants to eat at! They offer so many differwnt options even if you are not a seafood eater. We've tried so many different seafood spots and we always end up back at Crabbys. We always order the most spicest option we can order and it's always on point, even the Buffalo wings. Service is always great. We love the waiters/waitresses, they're always so nice even when we're always coming after work (which is pretty late close enough to kitchen almost closing) they're always looking out. I would def. Recommend them and if your oder, order the captains bucket, gives you just about everything!

I have a hard time making my mind up about this place, as there are so many different pros and cons that are a little hard to weigh out: Pros: 1. Seafood! I mean, why else are you coming here, if not for the seafood? I do get extremely excited to eat here. Sloppy, messy, all around fun while you're eating. 2. Beer and drinks Great variety of beers on tap, as well as bottled and canned beers. 3. In the piazza/no libs area Lots of other stuff to do here. Plus the giant tv screen that plays games. Cons: 1. Hostess and service seems a little unorganized. Hostess told us it would be a half hr wait, the second time we came here, but when we went inside to sit at the bar, there were three tables open. Then when the hostess saw that I was eyeing those tables, she came over after we ordered our beers at the bar, and then sat us at one of those tables. Service was a little slow, but our waitress was extremely nice. It just seems that they're either understaffed or undertrained. 2. Ran out of blue crab. I was sad, because I was really craving blue crab. They were all out, but the nice waitress did tell us that this place has an all you can eat blue crab event coming up. I'll be on the look out for that, but it seems that this place runs out of blue crab pretty frequently. 3. Your next bowel movement won't be pleasant My recommendations: 1. Shrimp! 2. Lemon cajun. I love it more than the regular cajun they have. 3. Eat outside! It's not the best cajun seafood/seafood boil place I've ever had, but it's pretty darn good! Maybe if the service just got it together better, it'll be a lot more pleasant to go to.

Bartender was incredibly rude. Got us drinks then when we asked to order food he said "no I'm too busy I'm doing 19 things right now." Never going back or recommending it. Will probably close soon like the last three places that were there before it.

The food and service were good here, but I wish it weren't in The Piazza. Not sure if I was just missing good seafood when I went though. I've heard a lot of bad reviews on Crabby's, but I like to judge for myself & will give it another try. Maybe now that I quit smoking, my taste buds will give me the real verdict! EDIT: kinda quit smoking.

Great location in the Piazza. Very interesting mix of Vietnamese and Cajun. We ordered the mussels in marinara (really good - would come back for this although mussels are tiny), Thai fish sauce whole wings (tasty as well). Pho sandwich was nothing spectacular (comes in a burger bun with hoisin, bean sprouts, cilantro, onions, jalapeños and a side of broth to make it similar to a French dip. Ordered the buckets - snow crab and Dungeness crab, shrimp. Buckets come with sausage, corn, and potatoes. Food was ok - enjoyed the Cajun sauce versus butter sauce. Good spot to play corn hole, giant connect four or giant jenga. Food is about 3.5 stars, but it gets the bump for the games

Wasn't really craving crawfish as I don't really understand why one would choose it over shrimp lol... But ended up here to finally try. The seafood is market price... I couldn't find the board listing daily prices.... Didn't look high enough. It's really high above the bar. Prices were reasonable. Ended up with the triple combo of shrimp crawfish and clams in crabby spicy. Something like that.... The price was decent as I was with two girls so I didn't know how much they could eat. Ordered a beer but unfortunately they didn't have hoegaarden that night. In not a blue moon guy so I opted for their only wheat beer ... Some water melon can one lol. It wasn't bad. But $6 was kinda steep. On to the food. I thought the seafood was really good. The sauce was really good at first but got salty throughout the meal.... So be warned. The clams were actually the winner of the night. Cooked well not chewy. The shrimp was also really good. Head on!!!!! Asian style thanks. There was actually a lot of shrimp to the point I got sick of eating nothing but shrimp. The crawfish... Again... I'm not a fan. I don't know what's good or bad... But I thought it was ok. Not that much meat. The food didn't look like much so I ordered crabby wings and fries. The fries weren't that special but good to dip in the bag of sauce. The crabby wings... I expected something different lol. When they came out I realized they were Vietnamese style fried chicken wings. So they were good but after eating all the salty seafood and eating more salty wings... Just salt overload for me. So my rating is based on the two separate dishes. If I came for beer and wings it'll be cool. If I came for beer and seafood it'll be cool.. Come for all three you'll be in salt overload. My server was nice and attentive. She looked a bit tired or didn't wanna work Saturday night but still did a good job. I'll come back if I'm in the seafood and beer mood.

Ugh, this place isnt going to last. It is in that awkward spot in the piazza that is hard to find not to mention the decor and theme are not a fit for this neighborhood. We stopped by on a Saturday night for some drinks. It was probably 11pm and the place was so BRIGHT it was florescent lights galore. That killed the mood and everyone's buzz immediately. We then asked 2 different bartenders/servers if they would have the NFL ticket this fall - they didnt know. Finally someone asked the manager and they said that NO they will not have the NFL ticket. How can you call yourself a sports bar and not offer that?

Hard to locate bc the awning is from the old restaurant (new signs on the doors are too small to see from far away). Last restaurant on the left when you're looking at the Piazza's big screen stage. Spicy sauce was delicious. Had the fresh crawfish. Gatorbites, calamari and fried catfish were way over fried. Don't get the calamari. Fries are seasoned and delicious. Beer selection is decent. Wish the keg of Kona Big Wave wasn't kicked but found some other reputable replacements. Also wish that you were given corn cobs for each lb, not every 2lb. Not a bad seat in the house - good HD TVs.

I don't get out to Northern Liberties nearly enough. There was a time, deep in my LivingSocial heyday, when I was out once or twice a week, helping with Beer Fest or setting up a BBQ in Liberty Lands Park or hanging out with my friends' puppies. And then... nothing. LUCKY ME, the folks at Crabby's Café and Sports Bar invited a handful of us Philly folks out for some crawfish sucking, claw-cracking, mollusk munching fun in The Piazza last week. Unfortunately, I had volleyball game that evening, so cocktails and craft beers were not in the cards (though it did appear that they had a nice selection of beers on draft, and were pouring these "Happy Crab" cocktails that looked like neon KoolAid and apparently was a boozy treat. I tried a sip.... it tasted like a frat party, but whatever you're into.) Food came in themed waves, with giant sheets of paper covering the tables and an endless supply of paper towels. I love a spot that not only tolerates messy eating, but encourages it. We were given trays upon trays of crabby fries, sweet potato crisps dusted with powdered sugar (why don't more restaurants do this?!), and my favorite, Crabby Wings! They wouldn't reveal what made these wings so crabby, but they had a distinct taste that separated them from your typical buffalo wing (which they do offer). My guess is fish sauce, but the jury's still out. Well, I do appreciate some mystery in my meals... There was no mystery in these mussels, though. I feel sorry for the folks who didn't spend a LOT of time getting up close and personal with these bad boys. Marinara mussels, served with crusty garlic bread (and, unfortunately, plastic forks... kind of cheapened the experience for me) were perhaps my favorite course of the meal. But we can't forget the coup de grace: The Seafood Boil. LOBSTAH! Crawfish! Clams! Corn! Sausage! Everything but the kitchen sink. Except that it sort of looks like it is served in a kitchen sink, so I guess that doesn't hold. **Everything IN the kitchen sink. I opted to sit at the "spicy" table, but honestly, wasn't too burned out by the spice factor. I think that, even despite the Vietnamese influence on many of the dishes, they try to make it palatable for folks. Those lobster claws were elusive on the meat front, and we managed to break not just one but two claw-crackers during our meal. If you're starving for some seafood and sports and suds in a relaxed setting.... Well, I think you couldn't pick a much better spot than Crabby's.

It took 25 minutes to get 3 waters! Plus the waitress never came around when we needed refills. I ordered plain chicken tenders with 3 sauces on the side and the waitress kept on cutting me off when I was trying to tell her what I want. Sure enough I got chicken tenders smothered in buffalo sauce. So far as I'm typing this I been waiting for 30 min for 4 plain chicken tenders! We just asked for the check and I'm getting food somewhere else later! The only thing that's good is the atmosphere and the KCCO decor! Chive on b*tches!!

This place is a great addition to the Piazza since it's so different than the other run-of-the-mill bar food restaurants there. It's still a sports bar though with TVs everywhere and a draft wall with lots of good craft beer options, like Green Flash and Ommegang. In the summertime, their outdoor lounge in the front is perfect for happy hour (with oyster specials!) or people-watching when there are events in the Piazza. The food is what sets them apart though. I'm obsessed with their Crabby sauce; it's such a unique flavor combination that is the result of the chef's Asian-influenced Creole recipe. The crabby wings have great flavor and leave some nice heat afterwards. But the real winner is when I tried the Poseidon's Feast for a special event they had there. It comes with lobster, crab, shrimp, crawfish, clams, corn on the cob, sausage, and potatoes. It's true lobster bake-style but in whatever type of unique sauce you want. It is seafood heaven! Of course with all that seafood, it's a little on the pricey side but totally worth it. I've never had the pho that other reviewers are praising, so I'll definitely have to come back in cooler weather to try that!

Actually, we got the crab bucket that we split between myself and my sister. We are both small girls with little appetites. No one informed us that the bucket was portioned for 1 person. We received 2 clusters, half of a corn on the cob, 2 small potatoes, and 3 slivers of sausage. But Nevermind the portion. 1 Crab equalling to $30 is a huge rip off when you can get a pound for less than quarter of the price. You should stop using the word "bucket" as it is very misleading. I know this because the 2 women sitting next to us who ordered the same thing agreed. I still don't know how you can justify your pricing for your portions.

I ordered the crawfish and shrimp combo dish. The sauce is good. But the shrimp seem like it was few days old. It literally was bad and it was falling apart like paste. I got home and was in the bathroom the most of the night. 2 stars only because the waitress was attentive

Great atmosphere and amazing service. The signature sauce is to die for and is finger licking good. My go to dishes are the clams, snow crab legs, mussels, baked potatoes and the sweet potatoes fries as a dessert. It can get a little crowded depending on your preference. Crabby Cafe is highly recommended for any seafood lover. In addition to the delicious food, you're able to wash it all down with a wide selection of craft beers.

Me and the homies went to Crabby's cafe & bar and grill for Monday night football (EAGLES GAME) and was pleasantly surprised.

Maybe it was because it was a Monday after a holiday weekend.

best crawfish boil i've EVER had. i used to HATE crawfish before a couple of friends brought me to this place and assured me that their crawfish is delicious. it's true-there are lots of random items on the menu like vietnamese pho, and chicken fingers. i actually ordered the chicken fingers too and they were yummy. i can't attest to the pho because i didn't have it. back to the boil, i had a combination of crawfish, shrimp, sausages, corn and potatoes in mine.. the sauce was the spicy one and it was to die for! we ordered rice on the side and it was DELICIOUS with the sauce. the crawfish were big and juicy.. and very fresh.. i loved everything about this spot..the ambiance is beautiful..gives you a sports bar feel..and its located in a piazza so it's beautiful when the weathers great to sit outside. they also have a great selection of beer and always have booze specials-which is always fun. i went there another time and they advised me that the crawfish wasn't fresh but frozen. love how they told me that in advance. i was sad i couldn't eat crawfish but the shrimp and everything else was just like the first time-DELICIOUS. i crave this place once in a while..if i lived closer to philly, i'd probably be here every week. i'm so glad my friends brought me here and turned me into a believer of crawfish. love this place and highly recommend it!

Love love love everything on their menu. Great service and great prices. I loved their crawfish and clams at their other location and was so happy this location serve alcoholic beverages. This is definitely my go to spot for an eccentric taste of seafood and beer. It's in northern liberties so the atmosphere is very inviting.

My favorite item on he menu has got to be the mussels. They where large and perfectly cooked in a delicious red sauce. Some places over cook and shrink the mussels but this place does it better than any other place I've been to. Other seafood items were great as well in their terrific sauces

Recommend them and if your oder, order the captains bucket, gives you just about everything!

my party of 6 was seated immediately.

The portions are way small and the bucket of seafood we had it was not fresh. Will not be going back ever never.

I went here on a weeknight and they had the happy hour special till 8pm. They had specials with $6 mussels and also specials on $1 oysters. The oysters were fresh and the mussels on point for the price! There weren't much of a crowd on a Tuesday weeknight and our waitress was very attentive.

Great for groups.. We came for a birthday celebration had the Poseidon's Feast.. Winner winner chicken dinner. Added the spicy sauce to our mixture of Lobster, clams, mussels, crab legs and shrimp!! Topped off with shots and a punch.. Staff was very attentive!! Especially since are party didn't arrive at one time, they knew how to accommodate us..
