An old shop. Two old or middle-aged ladies spoke Italian ( I had a little bit hard time to understand them, but that make me believe they are authenticate Italian bakery! I bought Sfogliatelle and garlic bread. Sfogliatelle $3 dollars ( the clam shell looking, with ricotta cheese filling.) It tastes like ricotta with a hint of cinema on and lemon. Very good,. Not too sweet , just right. I thought it was kind of pricy when I bought it. Now I totally think it is worthy! I will try the garlic bread when my family home. -- FYI:there are a lot of homemade food in the freezer also,, price are all quiet high( example, a small pice about 1"*2.5" of lasagna is $6). close to the resturant cost. but I might try some later..

I had been looking for tiramisu, noticed this place when I drove by and finally remembered to go in. I was not disappointed. It was available by the slice, entire cake, and a medium size package in a plastic tub, perfect for taking somewhere. I also got some fresh pasta, which was made that noting I was informed and should be eaten that night. The business has been here for 25 years according to the little Italian lady who does the cooking. They have an excellent selection of fresh pastas, ravioli, sauces & miscellaneous in addition to what you expect from a good Italian bakery. I'll be back.

My wife and I lived in NE Philadelphia in 2006-07, and Casa Del Dolce was a weekly visit for us. A true Italian bakery, and the pasta is fantastic also! We recently returned to NE Philly for a visit, and stopped there and got a beautiful Italian Cherry Cheesecake and Tiramisu, both excellent Italian desserts, and they were AWESOME! If you are in the NE Philly area, and love true Italian pastry and pasta, stop here!

I find this place to be hit or miss. The chocolate chip pound cakes are really good and so are their cookies. The store is clean and the staff is nice enough. It's located on the corner so you can't miss it. The parking however is tricky.

The best Italian rum cakes in philadelphia! This is a family owned, Italian run bakery with incredible pastries; continue to support local places like this!

This place was hit or miss. The cookies were good. But sometimes the cakes lacked. I see they have remodeled and the place looks outstanding. I'm not going to write them off and you shouldn't either. I will give them another chance since they have changed.

Ordered and pickup a cheesecake for my wife last week. They had only one size and it cost $10. It was made with "bakers cheese" and was not good. It wasn't even worth the $10 that we threw it out without eating much a few days ago. The cheesecake was dry, bland, and lacked taste. By comparison, the cheesecake at Daryl's Pastries in Glenside was much, much better, albeit more expensive by $15 or so.

I tried this place years ago and it was okay. It is still okay. The service was not particularly friendly or welcoming and the selection of pastries we tried were fine, but not so that we would become regulars.

I went to casa del dolce hoping for tirimasu from an authentic Italian bakery. I ordered two slices at $3 per slice. In short, this was the worst tasting tirimasu I have ever had! There was a very thin layer of coffee (not enough to actual taste it), the cake was crusty, and the cheese/creme layer was slightly sour. In fact, I don't think the cheese was mascarpone. It tasted like the tirimasu had been sitting for several days. Please look elsewhere!
