Great sandwich! I had the Chicken Sandwich and liked it a lot. It had grilled chicken, avocado and bacon on it so it's hard to mess up a sandwich when those great ingredients get together lol The deli itself is small with seating for only about a dozen patrons. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable for the portion size and ingredients used. Definitely stop by for a great sandwich

Cafe Square One is a great local business on 3rd Street. The service is a little slow, but the food and the coffee are pretty tasty. It's not the greatest - I'd give this place 3.5 stars, if I could - but good enough for a quick bite.

Oh my~lanta...YUM! First time eating here in The City of Brotherly Love so I Yelped it. Thank you Yelpers for the guide! This quaint little sandwich place is amazing ~ great choice of salads and sandwiches too. I ordered the Jewish Hoagie...corn beef, roast beef, turkey and swiss cheese. They were out of hoagie buns so suggested focaccia bread. Great choice! Lettuce, tomato onion and Russian dressing was a great combination. The fact that my sandwich didn't have the swiss cheese (not my choice) didn't matter to me ~ it was delicious! My husband had the Turkey Hummus Wrap and totally got wrapped into it! Said it was really good. We rounded out our lunch with a Pumpkin Cinnamon Sugar muffin :)

The blt was loaded with bacon which complimented my toasted whole wheat bread, fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Yums!!! I enjoyed my morning eats

Excellent sushi at moderate prices. Staff aims to please. On one visit I found a small piece of plastic in a sushi roll. The chef came out and humbly apologized and returned all my money. On the next visit he added an extra roll to my order at no charge. An unusual menu with a variety of sushi options plus a menu of other sandwich choices.

Good food and friendly service. Their sandwiches are great. I've yet to try their smoothies and bubble tea.

Turkey hummus wrap was a great choice. Normally come for breakfast burritos when I work in town. Friendly service. Should be listed on yelp choices when searching for lattes

First time in Philly. Followed Yelp reviews. Had breakfast burritos and egg-wich on a croissant. Delicious. Hot. Filling. Loved the CS Lewis quote painted on the wall. $16 for three breakfast plates was a fantastic deal.

Based on my research, Cafe Square One seemed to offer a coffee shop atmosphere while having a menu of items that one could make a meal out of. Most local coffee shops tend to just have pastries, yogurt and granola, and other things less substantial. The day I went I was hungry, yet had a lot of work to do, so cafe square one seemed like an obvious choice. My experience wasn't bad, but I also wasn't impressed. I had the cubano panini, which was cheap, but was on par with what I get at au bon pain at the airport (curiously named the "cubano"). The seating area is limited, and if its cold, the opening and shutting of the door nearby makes things a bit uncomfortable. The redeeming quality was the price and the speed with which my sandwich was made. Although, I'm having a hard time justifying that as a reason for me to give this place another shot.

We were disappointed to learn that Cafe Square One would be closing at 6 today, but such is life; it's summer after all. ... that is, until I looked at my watch and learned that in addition to posting a sign that they'd be closed at 6, it was a bit after 5 and the doors were already locked. The young staff sat idly while deliberately ignoring us and others outside. Um, isn't it silly to close earlier than the time at which you've posted you'll be closing early? Just saying. One star for the rude staff.

Great food and atmosphere. Cobb salad is awesome. Would definitely recommend this establishment.

Wonderful find a few blocks from the Omni. Quaint store front with cozy interior. Just the kind of place I like to patronize when I am out of town. My wife loved her oatmeal and my bagel sandwich with egg, ham and cheese was delish. Service with a smile and this appears to be a family owned operation. One star off because the cappuccino lacked a strong coffee flavor I like. Would return though

Perfect for a quick bite when I only had about 30 minutes for lunch. They do a great job with the space they have but it is tiny so it really is not best for big groups. Everyone who worked there was SO nice and helpful. I ordered the Power Chicken Salad and it was delicious, I really needed a healthy but fulfilling meal. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly customer service, great owner, great food and great vibe. The special roll are magnificent. I personally like the Drexel roll.

Took an early morning stroll from the Hotel Monaco looking for breakfast and stopped in after seeing the sign outside. Walked in and the room had an immediate warm, cozy and friendly vibe with an easy to read menu on the wall. I ordered an egg sandwich and coffee, both of which were very good. Service was friendly and gracious. I would love to come back to try some of the other items on the menu, for breakfast or lunch. Also, be sure to read the "about" section on Yelp about the owners - this is the kind of place I love supporting.

I'm not sure how I missed this place when I started working in the neighborhood a year ago. I usually bring my lunch to work (mainly because there are so few decent places to eat in the area). The times I don't have my lunch can be traumatic because the options are limited and pretty terrible (unless you like Cosi or paying way too much at Red Owl Tavern). Had a well constructed salad - fresh and not drowning in dressing - that I was able to order online and pick up within 15 minutes. With a great lunchtime take out option like this, I will definitely be okay coming to work lunchless. Should note that the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was their website wasn't super current and I ordered a salad option that wasn't on their current menu. That said, they still made it for me and it was delicious.

Awesome place! It is my first day at Philly, having a problem checking to my hotel make me go there and I was amazed by wonderful people with excellent customer service. They had me in with my two giant luggages. Their coffee is awesome and the ham with basil and tomato wrap was unforgettable one... Love this place

Heard this place was really good so I walked on over this Saturday morning as they claim they open at 8:00. I arrived at 8:15 to find no one there. Will not be returning.

Really tasty and healthy food. Great prices too. Im a smoothie addict and they're fruit smoothies are so good. Love the layout and vibe inside too. A new favorite spot!

The sandwiches are great! I love the Spicy Philly sandwich! This place is a perfect lunch spot. Their sandwiches are not too big so you don't feel overly bloated after having one but you feel very satisfied. I did not particularly enjoy the smoothie, it was lukewarm, fairly small for the price, and the texture was very smooth, more like a juice rather than a smoothie/slushy. I would not get it again, but I wouldn't let that deter you. Definitely a small local lunch spot. I can't wait to go back!

Love this place. Great food. I keep trying different things and love them all. My only complaint is that you leave smelling like the food. The ventilation isn't that great. So now, I try to call ahead for my food and go in and out really quick.

Came in here looking for coffee this morning. I got this (it was delicious) in addition to super friendly service and free wifi. In fact, I came back later on the same day to try their apple salad and it was DELICIOUS. This whole experience was such a lovely surprise to cheer up this rainy day!!

Pre-work bacon-egg-cheese on point. Coffee on fleek. Made by hand right in front of you. Very reasonable prices. I was impressed by their attention to detail when preparing the food and coffee, as well as the quality of ingredients. The lunch is very good as well, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I'll be stopping here everyday before work. My Wednesday just got a lot better. BEST BREAKFAST IN THE GAME Old City get at Square One.

The food would be really great, if only the people making it paid more attention to what they were doing. Every time I order, they mess up everything. I'll ask specifically to add or not to add something, and they completely disregard anything you say. It's decently priced, and the food tastes good when they can get it right. Today I ordered lunch (I work in the area) and when I got there I had to double check that there would be no onions avocado on the wrap, and the guy who rang me up was nice and understood that we have had issues before so he went over the receipt with me, I got back to my job and our food still wasn't right. My coworker had to go back and get it corrected. It's incredibly frustrating when you're swamped at work and only have a few minutes to eat, but have to take time out of your day to make sure other people are doing their jobs correctly.

Breakfast buritto was amazing. I dare to say that was my best ever in my life. Brewed coffee was so so. The place wasn't very clean, but ok. Opens in early moning. Goos place for breakfast with affordable prices.

Super nice people. The breakfast sandwich with avocados is delicious! If you're a bit weird like me, they keep Sriarcha behind the counter so feel free to spice it up in the mornings ;)

Their decor could use a boost, but this place fills a much-needed Old City niche for reasonably-priced, healthy, flavourful lunches made with fresh ingredients. Their salads are great, especially the apple salad made with fresh spinach, candied pecans, grilled chicken, and apple slices. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!

My far the best place in olde city to grab breakfast and lunch during the week. Everything is so fresh and it's really inexpensive compared to most. The people who run the place are some of the friendliest , which is always an added bonus.

My office is a few blocks from Cafe Square One and it took my coworkers and I nearly 6 months to find the place! Cafe Square One has been our hidden gem for lunch. Everything we get is delicious and we cannot stop going back. Prices are fantastic, food is delicious, staff is friendly. Between the four of us, we have probably tried everything on the menu. I love the Cubano! Its hard to find that sandwich done right. Ask for your Bacon extra crispy on the BLT or eat it right away. Southwest chicken salad is so gooooood.

Grabbed a quick lunch while out running errands in Old City one day. I opted for the turkey club salad. Quite tasty, with lots of turkey, avocado and egg (my favorite trio!). Will definitely keep this in the rotation for quick lunches.

Excited to have another place in Old City for coffee. Staff are super friendly with everyone. Had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and a cup of La Colombe coffee for 5 dollars- just about on par with a food truck but it's less greasy, and I get a place to sit and have free wifi. Sweet deal!

I work near here and come by for coffee and a bagel many mornings, and sometimes I'll grab a sandwich or salad for lunch too. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice, and for the Old City the prices aren't too bad! I love this place.

This breakfast and lunch shop is located near the old city. Cute cafe with friendly service. We had the special sandwich and tuna melt, both great. Huge selection of soft drinks and juices. Free wifi.

Cafe Square One is great! I work only a few blocks away and have only had good experiences. I now go, along with most of my office, at least twice a week. This is the best option in the area for mid-price, healthy lunch that is quick and accessible. And the people are very friendly.

The breakfast sandwiches are sooo good and made when you order. The soup is soooo good and has good chunks of veggies and meat and noodles. Cosi used to be my soup fix but now that I've had it here I won't be going there.

I went in for an iced coffee a few weeks ago when I saw a new coffee shop sprouted up; I don't think they cold brew...it tasted like they just chilled hot coffee. But the sandwiches are awesome!! I saw all these beautiful pictures on here and had to go get one too!! I ordered the california chicken and it is dynamite!! The chicken is moist (and they were actual chunks of white meat chicken) and everything tastes fresh, the veg are all crunchy, the bread is nice and toasty. This is my new lunch spot!!

Was visiting Philly with my two small children and used the Yelp app to search nearby. This place had a Yelp coupon, so I thought we'd try it. We were very happy we did! They have a nice selection of food for a lot of different tastes. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The sushi was fresh and done really well, the sandwiches and wraps were awesome. We will return.

So glad to find this little gem on Yelp, I loved the California veggie wrap (lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, cucumber, carrots, red cabbage, red pepper hummus, alfalfa sprouts on a tomato basil tortilla. Free wifi is always appreciated. Plus I love the quote on the wall. :)
