After a crazy night in Philadelphia on the midst of July 4th. I've decided to stop by Big Ass Slices, only because the name itself caught my eye, and it was close by the hotel I was staying at. To note, this is the first pizza I've had in Philadelphia, considering that I am from NYC and our pizzas are known to be delicious. But step aside, this is hands down the best pizza I've ever had! Unique menu overlay, and I find the name and logo itself to be awesome. However, it took quite some time for our order to be ready. But trust me the longer you wait, it's more worth it!

This is my pizza place of choice at lunchtime during the work week. Even though the line gets long, the staff is good at managing the flow so that customers don't wait more than 10 minutes. The pizza slices are large and are not served so hot that they burn your tongue (good for inhaling as you run back to work). The pizza is pretty run of the mill taste-wise--the sauce and the toppings aren't stand out. Some of the flavor combos on the pizzas look good and I'll have to try others--in particular their meat lovers' looks good. I like that they focus on just serving pizza, although I miss the stellar chocolate chip cookies Soho used to have. However, they retained the combo from the Soho days where you get two slices and a soda for ~$6, so I don't mind too much.

Clearly, it seems that "Big Ass Slices" is catering to the drunken, illiterate rabble who can be found lumbering around Old City on a Friday or Saturday night. Even in the afternoon, however, when families are out with their children, the employees here ask, "Do you want a big ass slice or a little ass slice?" The vulgarity doesn't bother me, but I think they're pushing the gimmick too far. The food here is OK. Nothing special. Sort of tastes cheap. Soho Pizza (which this shop replaced) was much better. The staff seems nice and is friendly, but I usually don't take the time to stop into this place. I prefer to ship my "ass" to other pizza establishments, to be honest.

Great place to go for a late night bite to eat. From the cashier to the guy manning the door, the staff is very friendly, and your order is taken care of pretty quickly. Very generous slices with fresh toppings. I sort of wish they hadn't changed their name from Soho Pizza, but as long as their pizza stays this good, I'll deal with it.

It was a lot better when it was Soho! Now, the pizza has simply gone downhill - and as mentioned in other reviews, poor service (even when the place is empty). The pizza is now lukewarm, soggy, greasy, and limp. No more deliciously crusty bottom. Just soggy raw dough. The service is basically "we can't be bothered to help you". Want to ask what a slice's toppings are because it's hidden from view? Forget it. You're treated like a jerk just for asking. Loved it before, it's a shame it's gone so downhill!

Imagine my surprise when I realized that SoHo pizza was no more. It is now called Big Ass Slices. According to the cashier, it was sold in December and opened under the new management a couple months ago. They still use the corner oven to cook the pizza so it's essentially the same pizza just a bigger slice! The service was decent; we got our food quick (there was no line) and they were friendly. The slices are also huge; there's a reason they're called Big Ass Slices! I'll definitely be back if I want a slice and I'm in the area.

I'll be concise. 1. Lukewarm pizza. 2. Became sick after eating here. I was not the only person from my group who had this issue. This was not my choice for late night food, nor will it be in the future. I'm not even going to comment on their business name of choice. I guess I just did by saying that. Ah, well. Basically, just no. I like pizza hot, and I don't like to feel ill after eating it.

They don't deliver and they aren't open on holidays. How do you expect to make money? Don't go here based off spite.

We visited here last weekend and were pleasantly surprised with the updates. The big ass slices are HUGE (think two large single slices) and delicious. We had two big ass slices: mushroom and mushroom/spinach. Both had a yummy garlic flavor and the pizza wasn't greasy at all! We ate outside but found there was space in the back that tied into the tavern, Silence DoGood's next door. Unlike some of the other posts, the staff was friendly. No issues. Will be back to visit again!

If you're interested in low quality service and options ... Come here. Granted it was later in the evening, however, their hours indicated they were open for business and if I see that I assume they are willing, ready and capable to serve the pizza they offer. I asked for a simple few slices of pepperoni and sausage that were listed on the menu and this wasn't available. We settled for a slice that had sat out for sometime with sausage cheese and peppers (I was pretty hungry and had waited in line for 20 minutes) and two chicken bacon ranch slices ( in their terminology a "big" slice) the woman taking our order appeared to understand since she explained all the available slices. Upon trying to obtain the slices, two people behind me were served prior to us. The topper, was the employee who harassed us the entire time we were trying to get the food we ordered. He indicated the girl who took our order could no longer help us (even though she was the only girl we spoke to). Additionally, he referenced my husband as someone else. This is the first and last time I will visit this establishment. I was notified upon cashing out, the gentleman helping us was a "bouncer". Why he was behind the counter, I'm unaware. I would suspect most restaurants would not want to deter their patrons as he did, needless to say, I will never return.

For you spicy lovers out there, I highly recommend the Big ass slice of Pico de Gallo for $7. Let them know to make it well done/crispy. You won't regret it ;)

I frequent this place for lunch and it's definitely an upgrade from the previous ownership. The pizza has a strong garlic taste which I really like. Several friends and co-workers have had issues with cashiers being total-dickheads here. I'm not sure if any of them still work there after the switch, but you can probably expect some sass. Whatever man, its pizza.

Meh. It's not as good as it used to be when it was Soho. It's fine if you're drunk, I guess. Otherwise, there are a bunch of better pizza options in the neighborhood.

Just strolling through old city and my 1 year old son saw pizza and became extremely excited. He politely states "Daddy, stop, peeezaaaa". I'll be honest, I usually tend to only eat the chain pizza places. But the kid was excited, so I stopped in. So, to put it simply, that's some really good pizza. The name tells you the size of the slice you'll be getting. Large variety of toppings, but the cheese is amazing. I live in Manayunk, and will have no problem finding my way to old city and fight for a parking spot to get a slice or 3.

This place really had big ass slices yummy and their pizza had a great brick oven taste to it. Small and cozy place. Great outdoor seating.

My new "go to" place for pizza downtown! Delicious, creative, and simply big ass pizza. Friendly staff, clean restaurant. What more could you ask for to satisfy your afternoon or late night pizza cravings?

Needed something to eat after a bit of drinking, so decided to come here for some pizza! I got the big ass slice of chicken, cheddar, and bacon pizza to satisfy my hunger. I really enjoyed the slice of pizza since it was like a meal in itself and piled with toppings! I will definitely return here for my big ass slice fix!

Rude cashier said in front of my boyfriend "get him out of here" after asking for extra sauce, mind you he's the only customer in the store on a rainy Friday night. It was approximately 1130 PM they're open til 3 AM but were rushing him out the door. I don't usually rant about businesses but the fact that he left the bar that had food to go to a pizza place he usually likes and then was mistreated the moment he walked in is unacceptable. Pizza was average at best and for 4.50 a slice who wants to take that kind of harassment.Taking my business somewhere else that can deal with their locale and provide good customer service.

Went here for a quick bite. Pizza comes out quick. The slices are really big. $5.50-7.00. We got the pepperoni and buffalo chicken. They were okay. Probably wouldn't come back. It's more of a place to go after drinking.

I had a slice of mushroom pizza. It was hot and the slice was very large. Slice and a soft drink - $5.00. Nice place to sit outside and watch passersby.

This pizza is simply not very good. The proportion of sauce to cheese is off. All the ingredidents taste very processed. The crust was the worst part - absolutely bland; tasted like clay.

I travel the county and eat a lot of pizza. This place is the real deal. Buffalo chicken is unreal. Def recommend to my friends if ever in Philly

Their pizza would be ok if it was cheaper, but it's not. It's $5.50 for a big slice (really just two slices uncut). Add a topping and a small regular slice is closer to $4 which would be fine if it was great pizza, but it's not. It's like any other slice from any other mediocre pizza place.

Pizza was very good; however, I didn't care much for the service. Guy taking the order was rude and not very patient. Also not many good selections to view.

Decent pizza at this end of Olde City. The Philly Cheesesteak is great with peppers, onions, mushrooms and provolone cheese....when they have it because they are almost always out of it and "aren't making any more today ". Cashiers are nice but the order taker has issues understanding English. I asked for a "Big Ass Cheesesteak" and he told me we don't sell them here! If it wasn't for the cashier, this would have been my last visit. Nice place for the late.night bar crowd.

Some of the best slices around (especially if you demand great crust!). The new owner or manager really improved the environment. Order two slices and get a free soda . . and a free box! Quick and easy lunch!
