For a place that specializes in one thing - salad - there is a disconnect between their mission and final product. I have eaten here a few times over the years, and while nothing I have ordered/eaten has been bad, my impression was that the bowls were thrown together by rote with excessive inattention to detail. Often the ingredients are just dropped into the salad bowl and left unmixed or given a perfunctory stir. Separate piles of cheese, nuts, dried fruits, etc., left where they fall. Sometimes, one of the elements is forgotten without awareness of the shortcoming. When the pleasure of this experience comes in over $10 for lunch, it is difficult to think that value has been attained. Asking for the dressing on the side to take charge of the finish is helpful, but when it becomes necessary to insure that I am dealing with a salad and not piles of vegetables as yet unrelated to each other, I feel like I am doing their jobs. With so many other restaurants offering healthy creative fresh salads as part of a broader menu, there seems little reason to go to a place whose sole reason for existence is doing something that is ultimately inferior to the competition. There is something inherently contradictory in a mass produced "custom made" salad. That contradiction is manifest by what comes across the counter at Saladworks.

Just OK as Saladworks goes - could be fresher in the lettuce department. Meanwhile, I love Saladworks and have visited a few locations. This one is fairly large. Gets crowded during the lunch rush.

I'm a big salad guy, but this location is subpar. As others have noted, the workers are downers and the lettuce is not the freshest. They do offer a variety of ingredients, but again, the service makes this spot lackluster. I often order make-your-own salads, and the attendants act as though I'm paining them by requesting more than five ingredients, yes, I realize it is $.50 more! Then, if you decline the bread and ask for an apple with your salad instead, the dumbfounded looks are priceless.

I love me some salad. Usually, I love me some Saladworks. Not this Saladworks, though. One - the pasta spills into the romaine constantly, and as someone who can't have pasta, this is a problem. An almost-died kind of problem. Second - the female manager there is downright nasty. I almost want to give her a hug to cheer her up, but I'm scared to cus she sure is mean. Will not be back.

I really like Saladworks, but the last two times I've been there, I've been disappointed. They have been missing certain items. The first time, they were out of the nuts for the Sophie Salad, and the 2nd time I ordered the half sandwich half Cabo jack. They were missing the grilled chicken. So I obviously think Saladworks is inconsistent and and needs to prep their foods alot better. The overall experience was ok. I tried the Green Goddess Dressing. It was fair. I expected an avocado taste, but was disappointed when all I tasted was mayonnaise. I thought the sandwich I ordered was phenomenal , it was caprese style. The balsamic on the bread meshed well with the tomato and mozzarella. Highly recommended! The salad itself without the dressing was good;it had mixed greens, beans, bbq chicken corn and black bean salad and tortilla chips on it. It was mixed together and very tasty. That's another salad that comes highly recommended!!!!

If you could give negative stars, i'd give this location 5. Every time i wrote a review about this place on google it would be removed within a week. I'll keep it short and simple: This place is the devil - don't eat here or you risk eternal damnation. Who knows where they are hiring their employees from, i've never encountered so many socially inept people in one place. If you're craving saladworks, drive to the langhorne location, its absolutely worth it.

Salad works has always been one of my favorite treats. I just wish it was about half as pricey as it is. I really like their fresh rolls and I have never had a bad salad from here. I recommend it. Just be prepared for pricey.

I don't know what to say beside "it's an overpriced salad place." You pay $10 for a salad and roll. The workers there are not the brightest and definitely not the friendliest. I would not return...there are much better places to eat.

I've been coming to the Newtown Saladworks for 4 years. I like seeing many of the same friendly faces and the best part is that they know my salad order as soon as I get to the counter without even saying it! My coworkers and I often go out to lunch and the one place we haven't been disappointed by is Saladworks!

When I get a much better salad at Panera for less money it's hard to like Salad works. Their subway style of throwing ingredients into a bowl doesn't seem worth my $10. Don't ask for croutons... They charged me $1 for them. Additionally the loud staff were inattentive and were carrying on their own conversations as if I was just the interruption to their day. This was at 1pm during lunch hours, no less. When I asked about a particular salad the worker pointed over to a table in the dining area and laughed saying all the demo salads where in a stack on a table because they didn't have time to display them. Again, it was 1pm... And you didn't have time? Additionally do you really need a display salad to tell me about a specific salad. I didn't plan to leave a review until the shift manager came out to the dining area to fill his own drink while he yelled back a supposedly funny story about how they forgot to get food to a catering customer. He recounted the mistake and the conversation with the customer like he enjoyed telling the customer they were getting no-showed. For the money you pay for what is fresh, cold, average salad I expect something to earn the money.... And nothing at this Saladworks earned mine.

Stopped in for lunch. I got a custom salad with grilled chicken and my wife got a Greek salad. We hated everything about this place. All of the ingredients looked and tasted stale and sad, in particular the non descript, texture-less chicken blobs. The fresh rolls were also a joke, totally devoid of any characteristics that would make you think 'fresh bread'. $20 for 2 salads that were gas station quality at best. Worst lunch I've had in a while.

As of October 2013, the Newtown Saladworks has come under new management-- for the better. It seems that half the once lazy, incompetent staff has been replaced by new, friendlier faces. The interior is more maintained and attention to customers is at its highest. The new owner seems genuine in wanting to revive the atmosphere of Saladworks. He has been getting to know the Newtown community recently and even offered to cater lunch for my office for free. Our office had freshly made wraps with 2 huge salads from the catering menu: The Greek salad and the Tivoli salad. The ingredients in both salads couldn't have been more fresh if I had made it at home. It's safe to say that the Newtown Saladsworks is on its way to becoming a competitor to the more well-known lunch hot-spots of Newtown.

My favorite place in Newtown (that doesn't serve alcohol). The place is clean, the food is great and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Maybe it's because I'm there every day, but I suspect they're just nice people. When I ask for "double chicken" on my salad, they actually give me two times the amount of chicken. That's not always a given. One of the employees, after chatting me up about my sunburn, even recommended a remedy I'd never heard of before (coconut oil, who knew?) Bottom line: love it here.
