Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Hidden gem in Newtown. Not necessarily somewhere I would take somebody from out of town, but a great no frills place to eat with one of the best beer selections in the area.

Stopped in today for lunch. Had a cup of chili and a burger. The chili was served hot and loaded with onions and cheddar cheese - just the way I ordered it. The burger was cooked to perfection and came with hot and crisp fries, a pickle slice and lettuce & tomato. The burger had that grilled flavor that I love. Service was fast and efficient by an attentive waitress. I've also had the French dip here which is one of my favorites. This is the best sports bar in the area.

My family frequents this restaurant about once a week in the winter. I have never gotten anything I didn't liked here! Best vodka rigatoni I have ever had! I also love the loaded onion rings! Great place!

Arrived at 5:30pm and was told we'd be seated in 30 minutes, at 7pm we we're still sitting at the bar. After listening to excuse after excuse they tried to talk the 6 of us into squeezing in a booth for 4. We lost our patience and wound up driving a minute away to the Green Parrot where we were seated right away and had a fabulous meal (very surprised as to how delicious the crab cakes are).

I'm pretty sure my husband and I got food poisoning from eating here last night. We shared the Lettuce wraps which were pretty tasty. I ordered the Steak and Cake which was a strip steak and crab cake. I ordered my steak medium well and it came out rare. I sent it back and they made me a new one (while i sat for 15 min watching my husband eat) My husband and I both ate off my plate and we both started to get pretty sick early this morning. So it was either my dinner or the Lettuce wraps that did it. I've eaten here before and was never wowed but we thought we give it another try. Never again!

Very affordable and chill place to watch sports, and has a nice circular bar so that you can see everything. Pretty impressive rotating draft selection and good bottle selection. Burgers are a hidden treasure here, but bar pies are very good for Newtown. Also, to mention if you go here Sunday to Thursday and have a Chase Vise United CC, you get 3x the rewards. Service is very quick, place could use some updates though.

Friends used to be a weekly dining spot before I moved out of the area. The food is good and the atmosphere is even better. It did tend to get a little crowded on a Saturday night, but usually never more than a 20 or so minute wait; any other time there was rarely a wait. I loved their French Onion soup and Chocolate martinis (nice combination huh?) The pizza, pasta and sandwiches are exceptional too. There is something on the menu for everyone. Looking forward to stopping in for a bite next time I'm in town. There is also an adjoining upscale Italian restaurant and a pizza place. They all share the same kitchen and owned by the same people.

It's fine- nothing special, but nothing atrocious. Servers have always been pleasant and the restaurant is clean. The last time I went here was just before I became a vegetarian. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and was appalled that it was a GRILLED chicken breast simply dunked in hot sauce! I grew up in Buffalo, folks, and this simply will not do. If that item is still on the menu, avoid it. The calzones are delicious and huge. You could really split it between two people, or otherwise be prepared to take the rest home for later.

I have to say this is not my favorite place to eat. I come here with my aunt when I'm visiting (she really likes it), but as a vegetarian who counts calories...there isn't a whole lot on the menu I can eat. The food isn't horrible, but it's just not for me. While nice, the servers don't seem very attentive either. It is a cute place tho. Maybe it would be a better place to go for just a drink.

Friend's is on of our "go to" spots. We love it as a family and when it is just the two of us. We have to wait but no more thatn 20 minutes. The food is always good and we order our drinks and food at the same time so it comes qucikly. The service is very good and we have never been disappointed. You get a burger or pizza/ salads and a great entreee - what ever you are in the mood for. We love the TV;s all over because we are sports people and love to keep up on the games. The place does stay quiet - it is not a loud sports bar even with all the TV's. Very family friendly. More than 4 should sit in the back - it is too crowded in a booth. Enjoy!!

Met another couple here last night... Good place... Great beer selection, full menu and good service. We wanted to grab some inexpensive food and take in the football game. Mission accomplished as the food was tasty and they have like 15 large, flat screen TVs with great viewing angles... We arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday and had to wait 20 minutes... Not a big deal as there was plenty of room around the bar to grab a drink. Don't be scared away by there shopping center location as this place is good TIMES...

I've been a frequent visitor to Friends over the past few years. It's always a great place to go for a casual meal or an after-work happy hour. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable, providing a large full-service bar and multiple flat panel TVs. The appetizers on the menu are all fabulous and many can be made into a meal. I particularly like their garlic bread mozzarella and chicken quesadillas. On Fridays, they also usually have a happy hour deal of half-priced appetizers, which is a great way to try a bunch of things. The rest of the menu is extensive, ranging from pizzas and pastas to sandwiches and wraps, salads, and entrees. My staple meal here is the Chicken Florentine: tender grilled chicken topped with mozzarella cheese and spinach on a toasted roll. I have also fared well here with the chicken Parmesan sandwich, crab cake sandwich, Italian Chicken Panini, as well as various pizzas and pasta dishes. The sandwiches all come with a side of some of the most amazing fries I've ever tasted. If you're watching your weight, they also offer a side of cold veggies instead of the fries, but that leaves a lot to be desired. The Italian dishes - pastas and pizzas - are all delicious, as the restaurant shares a kitchen with its sister-Italian restaurant, Dolce Carini, which is next door. Overall, Friends is a wonderful neighborhood bar and grille with a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere, friendly people, and great food.

Typical American beer selection $4-$6 draft or bottle. Good fries and better than average burgers for the type of place. Meal portions are not as large as most restaurants, but leave you feeling satisfied if you are the type of person who doesn't usually finish their meal at most restaurants. Bar is set up with good view of televisions.

It's a good place to watch a Phillies game or grab a quick lunch or dinner. The menu is big and the prices are decent. I don't think I've ever spent more than $10 on a meal there. It seems like most of the bartenders are slow and inattentive, so I wouldn't sit at the bar unless there's only a few people there.

Perfect neighborhood bar with good food, service, and crowd. Consistently good and decent happy hour. One of my laid back favorite places to go.

Good place to grab a quick bite. Good beer selection. The ribs are the best I ever had. No joke. They fall right off the bone. Highly recommended. Usually no or little wait for a table and the bartenders are good.

My husband and I used to go to Friends at least twice a month when we were living in Newtown. The food is above average and the atmosphere is relaxed - just what we wanted after a long week at work. We especially enjoyed the buffalo wings and the calzones.

Friends has been a go-to spot for me forever. Friends doesn't deliver exceptional food or a fantastic atmosphere, it has always been kind of middle-of-the-road in my eyes. However, middle of the road can be good sometimes. I find myself coming back time and again because the place isn't overly loud, you can ALWAYS find a spot at the bar and they have Golden Tee video golf. Being that the bar is always half empty (or is it half full?) you are guaranteed fast service and a quick refill of your libation of choice. Seriously, I don't think I have ever seen the bar more than half full, other than about 15 years ago. However, the tables always seem to be pretty full with families around dinner time. Feel free to come with young ones and sit at a table; this place is definitely kid friendly. To be fair regarding the food, I have never tried any of their entrees and have always stuck with the typical bar items i.e. burgers, wraps, wings, etc. Years ago I ventured a stab at their Philly cheesteak pizza and I remember thinking it was really good, so you may want to try it if that kind of thing blows your skirt up. However, keep in mind that it has been more than 10 years since I had my pizza adventure; your mileage may vary. Most recently I had breezed into Friends, bellied up to the bar and ordered a round of Firestone IPA and a menu. I quickly decided on ordering the Patty Melt with Fries and the ole' ball-and-chain went with a basic cheeseburger. I have never seen a patty melt come standard with mushrooms and russian dressing so I thought I would give it a shot. While waiting for the food to come out from the kitchen I thought that I would give a lesson to the girlfriend on how Golden Tee is done! Needless to say, 15 minutes and about 8 bucks later, she kicked my ass. What can I say, I had a terrible 7th hole... When The food arrived we dug in! I can report back that my patty melt with the standard fried onion and the not so standard russian dressing and mushrooms was quite tasty, albeit a tad on the greasy side. You can really taste the flame broiled "goodness" on these burgers. The girlfriend ordered her burger medium well, yet it came out medium. However, she didn't mind because she always orders them that way with the expectation that it will probably be medium when arriving in front of her. At the end of the day, Friends is a relaxed bar with average food and a guaranteed spot at the bar. If you are in the local area and are seeking a cold beer and some grub, stop on in, just don't travel far as I am sure there are other places closer to you that could be better.

Waitress was very nice. But the place was beyond dirty and out dated. There were fruit flies and the menus were sticky. Food was mediocre and served late. They need Bar Rescue ASAP.

Friends B & G is one of the better places to hang out if beer, sports and decent (not great) food are your priorities. When we arrived Friday around 9, the place was packed, but the good people at the bar were more than willing to move down and make room for us. Love that kind of courtesy. We had drinks and eventually a booth cleared and we were able to sit around and have a couple of apps that were ample for the 8 of us. The Nachos Supreme were what you would expect - piled high with chips, cheese, chopped onions and peppers; and the Hot Wings pretty good when considering there were about 20 of them. Good prices, too. Our group often meets there after big events (like elections), and we always find space to celebrate. We are hoping for a good reason to party next Tuesday night. You are all invited. See you there.

There is not enough good things to say about this place. The first time I went here for dinner and drinks I was blown away! Now I make an effort to come here as much as possible. The food is amazing! Shrimp and Crab dip is like nothing else, and all of their food is super high quality and delicious! Salads, burgers, apps, and sandwiches are all 5 star! Plenty of TVs to watch games, and the bar has great selection! Dave is the BEST bartender around and always gives the best to his customers! Great place for a hang out or a date night :)

Service is always good. Most of the staff have been there for a long time and know your name when they come to your table. Food is always good and fresh. Great place to take the kids.

Have eaten here several times over the past year. We have always had excellent service and no complaints about the food. Prices could be a little lower, but pretty much on par with the rest of Newtown.
