When on a family vacation, you need a reliable place to go. Where there is good food and reasonable price. A comfortable place where the kids can't complain and I can sit comfortably. This is that place. This restaurant targets an older crowd, but it works because everything is homemade and fresh. Excellent portions too. The decode could use some updates and the cook should not yell at the waitress in front of us. She was gruff, but sweet. She was determined to treat my family well and she did. See you next trip to Pennsylvania!

Best breakfast around! Always quick and friendly. On Sundays, get there early to avoid the church crowds. Irish style and Eggs Benedict are our regular go-tos.

We chose this restaurant because it was convenient to our hotel but we should have just got fast food instead! From the moment we walked in it smelled and looked like a nursing home cafeteria. We had five people and no one liked anything they ordered. I went with a safe choice Turkey, Bacon and Cheese crescent sandwich. How could they mess that up right? Wrong it was smashed, super dry and tasteless and the lettuce on it was wilted. I ended up eating the rest of my son's chicken fingers and fries. My husband had indigestion the rest if the night. DO NOT EAT THERE!

This is a diner. Now you may or may not have noticed but I just don't bother reviewing diners. Why might or might you not ask? THEY ARE ALL EXACTLY THE SAME. Average food and less than average atmosphere, service and price. I choose to review the Peppermill because there may be others out there that have not yet decided to venture in and have no idea it's not a restaurant at all, it's a diner. Although it took me 5 years to finally step inside of this place I quickly realized it's everything you might expect from a diner except this place was absolutely packed! I guess being that it's next to Bethany Village retirement community there are plenty of old folks eager to eat here along with the other 5 diners within a 5 mile radius. I mean seriously Harrisburg's west shore has got to be the diner capitol of the universe, with more diners per square mile than the state of NJ.

The food will not kill you, but there is no reason to eat here on purpose. They seem to specialize in cooking frozen food.

The husband and I ate here after visiting a local business. It is more of a diner than anything else, but I must say....the side of filling that my husband got with his meatloaf was out of this world!! Other than that my crab melt and fries were pretty standard for a diner/older folk restaurant. Service was prompt and we were in and out within 30-40 minutes. Probably would only return if in the immediate area and pressed on time.

I had a great breakfast here with my Mom & Sis, it's Mom's favorite breakfast spot. The staff was great and friendly. The food tasty and cooked well.

For a more relaxed, family atmosphere this is a great place to go. Their staff is friendly and nice. And their food is great. We stopped in for dinner last night and had a very enjoyable time. Our orders were not rushed and we had plenty of time to eat our soup before our meal arrived. I f=definitely recommend this place and will be going back.
