Hey, you with the face...the one futzing around in Mechanicsburg, looking for a place to eat. Stop what you're doing. Stop Yelping around. YOU NEED TO EAT HERE. I love Greek food. I've eaten Greek food all around this country and others. And who the heck would have guessed the the best Greek food I've had would be in Mechanicsburg, PA? I was shocked. But so happy to have found this place. The service is fantastic. The food is stellar, authentic, and homemade. Get the spanakopita, the saganaki, and the hummus (really, INCREDIBLY GOOD hummus). Get the gyros. And no matter what you do -- take note here, please -- get the baklava. Again, I've had a lot of it, but this was the best. To the management at Hellenic Kouzina: please open an outpost in Washington, DC. I don't want to have to drive all the way to Mechanicsburg to eat at your establishment again...but I'm afraid I'll have to.

Amazing Greek salad, anything with chicken, and a must try: baklava cheesecake! Everything is delicious!

Absolutely delicious - the best spanakopita I've had, super fresh salads and delicious desserts. I also love that they serve Lavazza coffee. And I also love their outdoor space, where you can BYO wine, etc. Great place to have lunch/dinner with friends.

The food at this local Greek restaurant is always great! We go to a Greek restaurant in NJ with our family when visiting there...The food at this restaurant is much better. It always tastes fresh and is hot and delicious. The pastries are some of the best in the area!!

I don't love the counter ordering but the restaurant is beautiful and food fantastic. I particularly like the outdoor space with the fountain. All of the food is so fresh and delicious. Burgers, chicken salad, sweet potato fries are all great! Service is fair.

Good Greek food at fair prices. Just be aware of their service system. So, I've been here with friends 2 or 3 times. I've tried several of the standard dishes from their menu: Souvlaki kebobs, Lamb, Spanakopita (spinach pie), Salads, Hummus, Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), Olives, Stewed Green Beans. Solid, solid, solid. The food is good -- though slightly under-spiced for my tastes -- and it's consistent. Portion sizes are good. I wish, though, that they'd offer a sampler platter for the mezethes (appetizers), since they're good, and by the time you order two or more, you're already filling up. I have two issues with their service and atmosphere, though. The first is their service system. When you arrive, you stand in line and order at the counter, then choose a table and have your dishes delivered to you. The line moves slowly, but grabbing a paper menu is best so you can read details that aren't on the menu above the counter. My issue here is that if you want additional dishes during your meal, it seems as if you have to go back to the line. There's no single waiter who serves you and answers your questions. Generally, the usually young wait staff seem confused by questions (and the first time I went there, there were a large number of young wait staff standing around with little to do). The most knowledgeable staff are behind the counter, but that's where the clock is ticking as you rush through your order to make way for other patrons. Secondly, the ambiance indoors, while "upscale casual," is somewhat... sterile. It has a little too much of the feel of a fast food place. The indoors area is loud and bright and isn't really all that conducive to a leisurely meal. (Admittedly, I've not yet been able to sit in their comfy outdoor area, but on a Friday night you'd better come early to grab a spot there.) And in light of all this, I'd say the prices are just a tad too high as well. Likewise their menu, while okay, is somewhat limited (and again, some dishes are lacking a little of the spice I expect in Middle Eastern dishes). Overall, the place doesn't really have an authentic Greek "feel" to it. Stopping for a bite on your way to the movies, fine, this place is decent, but it's not a place for a special meal with a date or with your parents. If and when I can find another Greek place in the area, I'll have somewhere else to compare Kouzina to. Until then, I'd suggest that they offer a "regular" table-waiting system for people who want a sit-down meal, an expanded menu, a couple of samplers for mezze and entrees, and possibly hanging a few cloth items on the walls to reduce the volume in the dining area. For now, three stars.

Solid 5 star establishment. In town on business and was looking for some place other than a chain restaurant. I came on a Thursday night an hour before closing and the place was packed. They have a nice outdoor patio where most people were situated. I opted to dine inside. I had chicken souvlaki on rice entree with a Greek salad and side of their Mediterranean orzo with feta cheese and green peas. The Greek salad came with a creamy feta dressing. The dressing was really good. The chicken was really tender. The chunks just slid off the skewer without effort. It was seasoned just right. I'll definitely go back when back in town.

We really enjoyed Hellenic Kouzina today, especially sitting outside on the patio, for a late lunch. They have a great menu, we all tried different items. My wife has been searching for a good Greek food location -- which we have found here. Liked the greek seasoned fries, enjoyed the spreads for appetizer, salad was terrific (ordered small with chicken, which for me be the normal size), tried two gyros -- both very good. Only desired improvement was for the Tzatziki sauce to have a bit more garlic. Liked the option of getting bottled soda from Mexico (e.g., Sprite, Coke), which I like better due to not using corn syrup as a sweetener. For not good outdoor weather, the interior seating was well done and the inside nicely modern with hint of authenticity. Limited parking in the lot, so you may have to park on the street if it's busy. Wait staff was very helpful, courteous and attentive. Looking forward to returning for a late summer evening on the patio for dinner and trying some of the great looking deserts, which we were too stuffed to sample.

Best Greek spot... (AUTHENTIC Greek food) that I have ever been to. The dolmades, the salad, the gyros (THE BEST). I keep wanting to try more dishes but tend to get the same things because I crave them so much. Staff is really nice and accommodating. My only complaints are that off-street parking is almost non-existent and they are closed Sundays and Mondays and those usually are the 2 days I get out that way. Grrrr.

Not very organized as you walk in, but the service is fast, food is fresh and hot, and the hummus is good.

Adorable outside. BUT, went to meet 6 friends and had no idea that you have to wait in a line like old school Hoss's to order your food!!?? So, all friends came at different times and line was to the door... We spent a half hr in line. Not together!!!? By the time we got to sit together, we had a half an hr till 8:00 close. Music off, lights off everybody out. Nothing was that good for me to do it again.

Went for dinner on Friday night. Reached little before 6pm, there were plenty of people in the restaurant but it was not overcrowded. Lot of tables are there, outside seating as well. I'd say 60% occupancy was there when we reached. Several reviews have been written about the ordering system, so I'm not going to explain that. Personally, I was ok with ordering at the counter and they bringing the food to the table. Only negative is if you want to add something once you start eating, then need to go back in the line or forget about more items! First item to come to the table was side salad. It was delicious. Salad greens were fresh, feta dressing was very good. Next was Chargrilled Souvlaki chicken. I was not impressed. Chicken was too dry and had no spices. Rice was equally bland. Yes, bland is the one word how I'd describe this dish. Veggie Gyro was very good, but basically the filling inside was the side salad which we ate first. Impressive salad, so good gyro. But I wish there was some difference besides the grape leaves inside the gyro. Final was baklava take-out. It was good, but cinnamon could have been little less. Those who like Cinnabon will like this baklava. Last but not the least was the service. Excellent. Very attentive servers. Young teenagers serving with a smile. Wanted to give 3 and half stars.

After coming here a couple of times, I would recommend you dine elsewhere. The waitresses taking the orders take about 10 minutes which is way to long for 2 items. The first time I ordered the gyro and it was soggy. The second time I ordered the lamb souvlaki and it was super dry as if it was frozen before and then overcooked. I suggest you try Zorba's Taverna and Pizzeria instead which has much better Greek food.

there are few traditional greek restaurants in the area that have grown into a very eclectic eating establishment for a quick bite to eat to a full blown intimate date sharing from one of the delectable items on the very hard

I was so impressed with this place. Excellent food in an amazing environment. The one thing I wasn't expecting is that you order at a register and then you get seated. I wasn't sure if I should tip the people that collected the dishes, but I already paid. The outdoor seating was so cool. They had propane torches that were so cool. I loved the place.

Nice relaxing place. Coffee and deserts are fantastic. Authentic Greek Coffee. Staff was fantastic and offered up unlimited time to talk to you. Small Con: to close to the road when outside

  • Tim B.

Food is fantastic. If you're thinking 'Greek Diner', stop. You're so barking up the wrong tree. The Aegean Sea Bass is amazing, the lamb shank is out of this world. And the coffee is always perfect.

  • Ka S.

Great food! I very rarely eat any kind of meat, so there isn't a huge variety of entrees I can order, which is really the only drawback of the menu. Their veggie options though: the veggie gyro, spanakopita and sweet potato fries are delicious! If you eat dairy, definitely go for the creamy feta dressing on that veggie gyro! Only one other complaint about the restaurant and that is the bizarre way in which the buzzer system works, but it doesn't get in the way much of having an enjoyable meal there.

  • Jeremy L.

Really cool little place. I still have a lot of experimenting to do with the menu, as I've only had the traditional gyro, signature gyro, and greek salad, but I'm very confident that everything they serve is high quality. The gyros are wonderful; great size, very fresh veggies, great balance of meat to accompaniments. The greek salad was also extremely fresh and delicious. As for the service, you won't find better. Every time I've entered Hellenic Kouzina I've been greeted by at least a few smiling faces. It's awesome to see such a large group of young employees that obviously have a vested interest in the success of the restaurant. Either they really enjoy their job or they put on a VERY good face, but I'm definitely thinking it's the former. This is that all-to-rare level of service that makes you want to support the business even if you aren't completely sold on the product, which fortunately isn't the case here. Great restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

I travel to Mechanicsburg twice a month for work and each time always find myself back here! I love this restaurant. Portions are large, and price is very fair. The service is amazing - everyone working there has a smile on their face. My go to order is the signature gyro wrapped in lettuce - amazing, although everything on their menu looks delicious.

Just had my second trip to Hellenic Kouzina and I am sold on their type of Greek food. I would like to build a little shack on their patio and live there so I could eat their food three times a day. I'm not the only one either. Apparently, they have just completed a renovation that created more table space because they needed it. That's a great thing, because when my group and I arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday, the place was PACKED solid and we waited about 20 minutes in the hall to get to the counter where you order. And the people kept coming. It didn't ever get slow the whole time we were there. It's like a hybrid counter service type of a place. That's kind of a weird set up but it reminds me of Disney World where many places work in a similar way. You go up to the counter and the menu is on a board on the wall and you order and pay in advance. You get your beverage in a clear Solo cup to take with you, if you're a soda drinker. They also have some soft drinks in a cooler and it's apparently BYOB because everyone around me was carrying wine. They give you a pager and then you walk past the case with all of the amazing looking desserts and over to another staff member who takes the pager, and seats you at a table where your food is delivered by one of the 50 teenagers who seem to all be related to each other. Back to the menu! It's a nice selection of traditional Greek-American dishes including gyros and a couple burgers for the scaredy cats. They also have some specials written on a blackboard in the waiting area. It wasn't highly visible. I wish they'd also put one up at the register. On this most recent trip I ordered dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) and spanakopita with lemon potatoes. My husband got the calamari and pork souvlaki with orzo. The entrees come with a sizeable salad upon which you can either have a house vinaigrette or creamy feta dressing. I've had both now and the feta is better. We were able to sample from our company's plates as well. The sweet potato fries appetizer was really, really good. It's tough to get a crispy sweet potato fry, but they do it. Then it's cinnamon and a honey drizzle. So good! The saganaki is as dramatic as possible with a big ouzo flame tableside accompanied by an "OPA!" from the teenagers. (The downside to this is that as we were leaving there was a cloud of smoke in the room that was making my eyes water. A little more air circulation or a fan might be good here!) My dolmades were clearly made in house and fresh. I struggled to cut them with the knife on my table and should have just picked the suckers up. Some notes: The calamari is AMAZING. You get both rings and tentacles. It's so fresh they must have a squid tank in the kitchen. It's crispy and perfectly cooked and comes out with some magical Greek seasoning sprinkled on it with a couple of lemon wedges. The first time we had it my husband looked at the marinara-less plate like someone kicked him. And then he ate a bite and didn't miss the red sauce at all. And he's a picky eater. Seriously, the calamari is probably the best I've ever had. And whatever that seasoning is? I want to eat a bowl of it. The salads are huge for an entree accompaniment. The spanakopita arrives in front of you as a giant square piece of pastry, like 25 square inches of yumminess. Crispy phyllo on top and bottom sandwiched spinach and cheese that wasn't the slightest bit bitter. It was the perfect amount of creaminess and flavor. Again, probably the best I ever had. Dessert. Oh my god, the desserts. You get to see them when you place your order and all of them look delicious. I've had the baklava cheesecake both times I've been there and I don't foresee myself ordering anything different no matter how good the others look. Seriously, how has no one ever discovered this perfect marriage before? If I close my eyes I can imagine the creamy cheesecake and the extra sweet nuts and crispy phyllo. I want one. Now. I'm calling m husband... I want to go back. As far as the facility goes, I can't complain. This place is clean and the decor is sparse. Just a giant waterfall wall and some blue neon. The service is impeccable even if the teenager who was bringing me food called me 'ma'am' and made me feel 80 years old. (I am not 80 years old!) The food is amazing and they are very busy (and don't take reservations!) I can't wait for the weather to get warmer and sit outside on the patio. Hellenic Kouzina is a gem in a virtual desert of good restaurants. Go there and eat well but save some baklava cheesecake for me.

Great family owned greek place with both indoor and outdoor seating. You place the order at the counter and they deliver to your table. Portions are large. Quality is great. And it's close to my new house. They even delivered an extra free appetizer to welcome us to the area! A new "go to" place.

I've visited Hellenic Kouzina a number of times - this was the first since the completion of their recent expansion. This experience was top-notch as usual. The venue is always hoppin' & it can be a bit noisy at times, but fear not - you will discover why everyone is here! Ordering is done by walking up to the counter, where you make your selection & pay. You will then be seated & your food will be brought to you. My favorite - simple but delicious - is the Chicken Gyro. And then there's dessert. Which is awesome. I've tried a number of them - all good. This time I tried Baklava Cheesecake - one of the best desserts I've ever had! This place has a great lively vibe & I love the new glass waterfall in the dining area. (BTW - there's a nice outdoor patio) I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough - go!

Great place! Best customer service! You come in and they make you feel welcomed. I always order the lamb shank or gyro with fresh cut fries. Amazing! It's sooo good they had to make the place larger. Oh yea also order the blaklva cheesecake. Can't wait to go back.

A gyro from this place is life-changing. Not even exaggerating. This gyro could turn believers into atheists and atheists into believers. This gyro could overturn the same-sex marriage ban in the remaining 13 states. Drake could eat a gyro from this place and never have another hip-hop feud. This gyro is happiness and bliss manifested. Imagine the best moment of your life and I guarantee it doesn't even come close to that moment your taste buds first feel the euphoria that comes with Hellenic Kouzaina.

My friends and I meet here all the time for lovely, budget friendly dinners. Love the outdoor space, very romantic. The food is fantastic, all of it. Growing up Greek but not wanting to make my own spanakopita, pastitsio, etc, I'm always on the hunt for good versions that taste like Yiayia's. This place is it. No longer have to wait for holidays or Greek festival, I can get my faves anytime I want. It's glorious. Standouts are the spanakopita, pastitsio, moussaka, and lamb shank. Get the creamy feta dressing on your salad, it's amazing. Pork souvlaki is a bit dry, get the gyro instead. I'm not a sweets person but I heard the baklava cheesecake is worth all the things. The service system is...interesting. You pay up front but a food runner will bring you your drinks and food to wherever you sit (open seating), check on you and refill drinks. So bring cash for tip. BYOB!

Good tasting food. Nice selection. Since they opened the serving size has dropped. Gyros seem half the size they used to be.

BEST Greek food I've ever tasted! If you're in the Greek mood, come here! Their Pasticho is amazing and their gyros are made with the tenderest lamb

From out of town and stopped here based on the yelp reviews. Food was great. Was like eating wonderfully prepared fresh food. I ordered an extra salad by mistake (did not realize one came with dinner entree) and after I say down and had the first salad, the manager or owner realized the confusion and gave me the money back for the extra salad without me asking. All the staff is very friendly and polite.

I ordered take-out with a friend at Hellenic Kouzina last night and realized my order wasn't complete after driving to my friend's house. I didn't feel like taking the time to drive back, so I just ate what I had and decided not to make a big deal out of anything. A few hours after eating my (delicious) Greek salad, I checked my phone and noticed a voicemail and text message from the owner, who I had only briefly met last night. He explained they realized they had messed up my order soon after I left, and asked if I would call him back. When I called back, he reiterated how embarrassed / sorry he was for the mess-up, and that he refunded my order. We had a great conversation about the business, and he made it clear that they'll go out of their way for me any time I come back. I am SO impressed with him for taking a few extra minutes to take care of me! Between the quality and the service, Hellenic has a strong grasp on what it takes to make a small business thrive. I feel special and taken care of, and I recommend this place to anyone!

My friends and i went here for homecoming dinner, and we enjoyed our experience here more than homecoming!! It was under construction when we went, and we had a party of 6, so the only real way to fit us al was outside- which wasn't too too bad. We sat there after ordering our food, which waassss: Gyros Chicken kebabs Ziti (or some sort of pasta) Lamb dinner entree So we sat down and we were taken care of by what seemed the ENTIRE staff- we didn't have just one waiter, but like 6. The manager and 4 others brought out this white thing on a plate, then lit it on fire (while screaming OOPPPAAA!) It turned out to be goat cheese. With pitas. Yuuuummmmmmmmm (I don't know if it comes with the dinner or just complimentary, like break baskets) A waiter came by every 10 minutes or so, and they were soooooo cool. They were easy to talk to, and fun to mess with. They were also pretty attractive, so we had a good time with that (; Anyway, the food was exceptional. We all sampled each other's food, and my fav was the original gyro. But the star HAS to be the desserts. Oh my. There were lemon cups, cannollis, chocolate cakes, ice cram, chocolate domes, angel cake, and on and on. Cheesecake baklava and the Napoleon is what we finally decided on, as well as hot chocolate. Dude. We devoured it all in less than 5 minutes. The hot chocolate took a bit longer because they actually melted chocolate and frothed milk for it. The Greek coffee is like an espresso, but 10x stronger, and even includes the grounds at the bottom of it. We ended up giving them a 20$ tip, nonetheless. Well worth it.

Can't believe I waited so long to go there. The place is beautiful, spotless, and the customer service is excellent. The food was delicious! We had the signature lamb gyros, sweet potato fries, and regulate fresh cut fries and it was all great. We will definitely be going back for dinner sometime soon.

We have eaten at Hellenic Kouzina several times now and each time the food is wonderful. The Gyros are authentic and the best I have had in a long time. Many places pass off frozen slabs of meat as authentic gyros, but Hellenic delivers! The Lamb shank is so succulent, falls off the bone. But you have to get there early, or you will miss out (big sell out!!). The Baklava cheesecake is so rich, but the perfect combo for the end of the evening. Everything on the menu (including the dinner salad) is fresh, crisp, tasty, and absolutely perfect!! The staff is super attentive and does a wonderful job attending to the needs of their customers. It is a rare thing these days to go to a restaurant where the staff is helpful, cheerful, and attentive. Hellenic Kouzina is our favorite restaurant!!

Lovely family run business. The food is delicious. You stand in a quickly moving line to order then you sit down and relax and they take great care of you. This past weekend we tried two of the specials . I had the seabass which was grilled and seasoned to perfection and my daughter had a chicken dish which she said was the moistest most delicious she has ever had! The flaming cheese appetizer was quite a treat. My son in law cannot get past the Gyros, he orders them every time. The spanakopita on the usual dinner menu is fantastic. Prices here are very fair, and its BYOB. The Baklava cheesecake is excellent we always take a piece home to share as we are always quite full when we leave.

  • Derek H.

Everything seems new and shiny, and the foods not bad, but the kitchen is a little uncoordinated right now. They seem to have more people working than they seem to need, and while they serve fast food that should be ready in 20 minutes, it takes twice that long at dinner.

This place rocks!!! I had the lamb shank, it was absolutely delicious and the entire staff were so friendly and helpful. I am in town for business and will definitely be back for dinner during my next visit, later this month!

The best Greek place in the area- you can't get a more authentic experience anywhere else! Lambros (the owner) is wonderful and always takes good care of his customers. The gyros and souvlaki are amazing, and the baklava ice cream is heaven on earth. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-maintained and has a great outdoor seating area. We always bring friends and family here for a nice meal and great food. If you haven't been yet, you need to try it!

Visited Hellenic Kouzina for the first time since we had been given a giftcard. We didn't even know this little gem existed in Mechanicsburg! It was such a great environment and even better food. Everything was very clean and very maintained. The BYOB was such a nice touch and ordering the food at the counter was fast and efficient. The food was delicious and we are excited to visit again...especially on a warmer evening when the patio/outdoor seating is an option!

I live on the "east shore", as those of us in the Harrisburg area like to say. And if you're familiar with that terminology, then you'll know that those of us on the "east shore" very rarely go over to the "west shore" for anything (and vice versa). It's just a 10 minute drive back and forth, but for whatever reason, crossing the river is a big deal. Why is that relevant to this particular review? Well, it tells you that this place is really something special if I went out of my way to go there. I am a big fan of Greek food. I didn't grow up with it, but was introduced to much of it through the "Greek Fest" that is held every year over on the west shore (another event worth crossing the river for). When my wife told me that a Greek place opened up somewhere near her job and that everyone in the office was raving about it, I jumped at the chance to give it a try. Honestly, this is well worth the effort - even if the building isn't entirely well-suited to being a restaurant (they're working on that at the moment, in-fact). I've enjoyed the Pastitsio, Spanakopita, Greek Salad, Greek Fries and their Feta Orzo sides and everything has been fantastic. The prices for the entrees are reasonable and the portions are huge. The staff there and the family that owns it are extremely friendly and attentive. Also, despite the fact that they have no kids menu, I find that my two young boys can split a cheeseburger and fries and have plenty to eat (and they love it, despite being picky eaters). Really the only complaint I have (and what costs them that 5th star) is that I don't care for the counter service aspect of the place. When I go to a restaurant, I want to relax and not have to worry about whether I'll be able to find a seat once I've paid for my $45 meal. But wait, didn't I just say that the staff was attentive? Well, yeah, they are - they bring the food to you and will gladly refill your drink or pre-bus the table. However, you do your ordering at the counter, which leads to lengthy lines and gives you plenty of time to glance around nervously while you're waiting to see if a table might open up for you. In my opinion, if I owned the place, I'd do away with the counter service idea altogether. It can still be a "seat yourself" kind of place and work just as well. And hey, they might even be able to work out some additional seating area if they didn't need to have the knee-wall that forms the queue. With that said, as I alluded to earlier, there is some construction going on at the moment (date of this writing is 5/2014) and perhaps they are reconsidering their approach - fingers crossed. So while this place doesn't exactly make for the most relaxing meal, it's certainly worth the inconveniences associated with it - just try to hit it up off-hours (I like to go around 2-3 o'clock, just after the lunch rush, but before the dinner rush). Other than that, this is THE place to go for Greek food in the area.

Everyone needs a good "Go-To" Greek Restaurant. This is mine. Best Greek Food in the area. Gyros, Salads & Fresh Fish ... will all keep you coming back. The Desserts are decadent!!

In my opinion this is where your car should come to a screeching halt if you are in a mood for Greek food! Yum .. Yum .. Yummy food and Awesome service. The only down - prices are high. My trick to a place like these where food is GREAT but PRICEY.... Order Dessert - You are in a sudden LA LA LAND and an instant recipe to ignore the credit card ring. Don't forget to sit outside during summers. It's the neatest experience. Ofcourse I went there with my daughter at around 3.30 - 4 on a Saturday. Not a sould around. The entire outdoors was just for 2 of us. ENJOY!!! After all we Central PA-ites don't get to eat a Good Greek Food with a great service and with a great outdoor seating all the time everytime.

Went there on Saturday night with my elderly folks. My first time, but they had been there a few times before. The food was delish!!! I have traveled to Greece before and always have to compare Americanized Greek food with what I ate in Greece. Hellenic Kouzina definitely compares! I was amazed with the kids who helped wait on the tables and act as runners. They were great! So outgoing and helpful. Can't wait till the next time I get home and visit the folks, so we can all go out for more wonderful Greek food!

The only thing that stops me from giving this place 5 stars is that I'm not a fan of having to stand in line to order. The serving situation is a little odd when you order at the counter, pay in advance and tip before you even get a server. But that aside, the food was delicious. I came here with a friend of mine. I ordered the traditional gyro sandwich. I can't even describe how much flavor was in one sandwich. The pork and lamb were marinated to perfection. My friend ordered the baked chicken and it was so moist. The flavor was incredible. For dessert I got the baklava. It has a little too much cinnamon for my taste buds, but it was very tasty. If you don't like really nutty cakes though, I would advise against it. The food was definitely reasonably priced. I spent less than $15 for my meal and I was more than satisfied with the portions. I'm looking forward to going back as there was so much on the menu that I wanted to try. The other thing I liked about the restaurant was that it was versatile in it's set up. There was a more public area of the restaurant with booths and larger tables for families or larger parties, but then there was outdoor seating with a small garden for a more intimate meal. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

We thought it was good, not great. We ordered the baba ghanoush, grape leaves, sweet potato fries, Horiatiki salad with grilled chicken, lamb gyro and beef gyro. Baba lacked much flavor. Grape leaves, look nice, but just taste like rice in a grape leaf. Sweet potato fries were the best. They put honey and cinnamon on them. The honey tastes like clover honey. It actually doesn't need as much honey; they can go a little lighter on it. Lamb Gyro, meat was chewy and fatty. Meat gyro was tasty. Horiatiki salad is good, but to make it better would love a more traditional Greek dressing. Place is a solid good place. They can make it better, just needs a little tweeking. Staff are really friendly and attentive. Great concept of a fast food Greek restaurant. We would love to see something like this where we are.

All I can say is this place is awesome. Once again, my hubby and I ate there. The line was long as a Friday night crowd was on and poppin! The owner and head chef has definitely got the secret for success. The young people that work there are consistently very polite and professional and accommodating. They look happy to be working there and not only is the food delicious the service is impeccable. I only wish that I could take this restaurant back to DC when we go! This is the best food I have had in Central PA...Yes, the best, better than Stocks and Rillos and the other places that people rave about. I had the Spanakopita (if it aint broke then don't fix it!). The lima beans were worth the trip alone! I am about to have a piece of my Saint Xenia's chocolate cake. Heavenly.

It is probably my favorite place to eat on the West Shore. I get a chicken gyro for about $7 then split sweet potato fries (covered in honey and cinnamon) for $4 or 5. I've loved the gyro every time I've had it. The tzatziki sauce is delicious. I often order extra to take home (includes pita bread). The sweet potato fries are a lot better than most places I've tried. They have great outdoor seating which they are adding to right now. There aren't a ton of parking spots so you might have to park on the street and out front. The service has always been good for me. It is setup like Panera where you order at the register then get a buzzer. For awhile now they have been retrieving the buzzer and bringing me my food. The restaurant is BYOB. They can open your wine bottle as well as provide glasses. Highly recommend!

Best gyro in a long time. Some one did there homework. Has all the polish of a chain but personality of a local restaurant.

My boyfriend took me here for lunch. He had the gyro and seasond fries and I had the chicken gyro. It was out of this world. Their desserts look very good also. I highly recommend to stop in for a bite. The staff was very pleasant always a nice plus.

Best Greek food ever. Everything was sooo good! As another reviewer stated, the only complaint is the confusing ordering/serving situation. We wandered around for a while before figuring out you order at the counter and then can go sit down and be served your order. But the food is the best from start to finish. Yum! Will be a date night staple.

So delicious! I have been here a few times for take out and I loved it! The food is really good and the staff is really nice and out going. I loved the salad and the sides are all amazing! The lima beans and green beans etc... so good!!!

I was so excited to try this place, as I love Greek food and the reviews here are mostly glowing. Look I know Central PA is a foodie wasteland that, for some odd reason, worships chicken wings of all things, I should really know by now not to listen to you people when you say something is great. The place was near empty on a snowy evening, with what seemed like a dozen staff just standing around. The food here was OK. It was fine. Some was terrible. We got a take-away. Chicken Souvlaki was good, chicken cooked well was the highlight. Too lemony, that taste overpowered instead of the subtle lemon spiced balanced flavor I've had at so many Greek restaurants in NYC. I ordered sweet fries with it, which they just piled on top of my chicken and rice and closed the take-away container, so basically my fries were soggy mush that I just threw away. Got spanikopita and tiropita apps, which were so bad I almost drove back to return and get my money back. Both were so overcooked, dried out, that I could barely bite into them. I knew the second I opened the container these were shriveled up messes, so they knew when they were packing them that they were inedible. How could you possibly serve me that with a straight face! What a rip-off! Baklava was fine, I get better from the West Shore Market. Dessert selection is great. Did they just have an off night? Overall a disappointment. I hope they improve though.

Very nice, and not crowded as some say when we went on a Friday night. I can see, however, how it could get that way. Summer dining should be better when one can use the outdoor seating. We were very happy with the spanikopita and pastitsio. Two specials of mussels and grilled octopus were different and good. We will definitely go back. Mostly counter self-serve; but the staff was so helpful, we never noticed. Food is just ordered at the counter, but delivered to your table. Our tables were bussed, too.

Stopped here for lunch while driving from Philly to Pittsburgh. Best Greek salad ever. Homemade feta cream dressing, good olives and tomatoes, side of chicken was yummy. Husband had gyro. He loved the pita and the meat. A real find!

Loved the food and prices. We sat inside, but next time I want to eat in the patio are. Great ambience there. The baklava was amazing! I enjoyed the classic gyro too. The roast chicken at the table next to us looked and smelled amazing. Definitely worth the wait in line!

This Greek place was pretty good. Reasonable prices. I had the chicken gyro with a side salad with the vinegrette. I thought the gyro was good yet since it came with chips, I had to pay extra for the side salad. I decided to go ahead and didn't think the side salad was worth the $4.99. Perhaps a $1 or $2 upcharge would make more since. My mate got the pasisito and enjoyed it. He also got the orozo salad but was disappointed with it. I sampled another friend's cheese appetizer (flaming cheese with pita) and I thought it was ok. The hummus another friend had was not good. There was a flavor in it we were not familiar with from other hummus we had had or made in the past. It almost tasted like it had olive juice in it. You order and then get called back to get your meal when it's ready. I don't mind that process, except they piece-mealed ours out, first for the salads and then back later when the main meal was ready. I would have rather waited until it was all ready. I liked the atmosphere too. I recommend folks give this place a try. It's a BYOB.

Enjoyed the chicken and pork souvlaki, sweet fries, and traditional gyro - while not accustomed to Greek cuisine, it was most excellent! The tiropita and dolmades were fresh, tasty, and with a hint of lemon that accented the dish very well. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the outside patio area, and although next to an occasionally busy street, we really enjoyed ourselves. Noticed several other family and friend groups coming for dinner, several byo...a great sign for a Tuesday evening!

Visited here twice last week with family, and it's now one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I had the Signature Gyro both times and it was delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and a good value for $7. I got baklava & a Greek coffee to go, also great. My fellow diners mostly got gyros, with the exception of the Chicken Oreganata (spelling??) -- that was INCREDIBLE. A massive portion of chicken (either a quarter or a half, I can't remember) plus potatoes & veggies in a lemon sauce and a salad. It was a special that night, but one of the employees said we could check their facebook page for updates on when they'll serve it again. Again, for $10.50, this was a great value, clearly high-quality ingredients, freshly prepared, and much better than anything you'd get at the same price from Olive Garden, Carraba's, etc... The setup inside probably isn't ideal, but it's hard to believe this used to be a bank. It's extremely clean and not overly-decorated like some places can be. If a restaurant's primary color scheme is white... they'd better keep it clean. The staff was so friendly but not overbearing. Yes, you will have to grab your food from the counter, but we always had someone help us bring it back to the table and then come by later to ask how we liked everything. (We totally liked it.) I hope they continue to do well, since the owners & staff clearly care about the quality of food & service, which can be hard to find in Mechanicsburg.

This place is GREAT! Fresh, cooked-to-order authentic Greek food, like your Greek grandma would make if ya had a Greek grandma. They've only been open 3 days and the place was slammed. SAH-LAMMED. We couldn't get over the stream of people who kept coming in. Apparently lots of Mechanicsburg folks have been craving real Greek food! First, the food: We had the avgolemono (lemon chicken soup), which was amazing. Capitol Diner has this soup as a special every Sunday, and it was worth the trip there, but Hellenic Kouzina absolutely takes this dish to the next level. Creamy, lemony, perfect balance of herbs and chicken. The spanakopita (spinach pie) was possibly the best we've ever had - they managed to get the phyllo flaky yet moist, but didn't fall into the trap where the spinach makes the phyllo soggy when you put your fork through it. Great flavors, perfect texture. We tried the gyro as a benchmark, and it sure set the bar high. Wonderful mixture of lamb and beef that is freshly carved from the spit roasters. Pita is grilled and stuffed with a sweet, creamy tzatziki, vine-ripened tomatoes, and crisp red onions. The tomato-stewed green beans, sometimes called Athenian green beans, were a perfect balance between the slight acidity of the tomatoes and the mellowness of the beans. The dish was cooked to perfection. The beans still retained their form without being crisp; HK hit that elusive sweet spot between snap and droop that really defines a great stewed vegetable. Similarly impressive was the oven-baked lemon potatoes. This could have been a dicey dish, easily leaning too far toward the lemon profile, but once again, HK hit the right balance. I have to admit, we ordered the baklava but couldn't eat it because we were so stuffed! It's waiting for us in its cozy to-go box. Next, the decor: HK is in that renovated bank building right next to the historic Irving Female College near the railroad crossing on Main Street. They have done a beautiful job on the renovations. The interior is crisp, clean, and defined by a subtle yet witty combination of the traditional Greek blue and white. The kitchen is open, so the dining area feels like one giant chef's table. There are areas of table, booth, and bar seating. Last but not least, the staff: When you enter the restaurant, you encounter a sign which says that HK is a family operation. The family members' names and photos are posted on the wall. When you walk up to the counter, you are greeted like family. The staff was universally fantastic. Despite the crowd, each staff member was happy, pleasant, outgoing, and helpful. Of course, as a new establishment, HK was experiencing some bugs, but the staff handled each blip with aplomb. We felt right at home, and can't wait to go back. If HK keeps up this level of quality, they will shortly outgrow this location. Opa!

Hellenic Kouzina offers excellent service and excellent food, what more could you want from a restaurant? I've had the traditional gyro, fries, and baklava. All were top notch, and though I was stuffed by the time I left, I was already trying to figure out when I could come back to the restaurant for my next meal there. The staff was all very polite and very helpful. Everyone should definitely try this place out.

My wife and I dined here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and will definitely return. Both had chicken gyros, which were delicious. Chicken was well-seasoned, and we loved the sauce as well (though she said she'd get hers on the side next time because she thought it was a bit too much). We shared a baklava cheesecake slice, and raved over it. Lots of great-looking desserts though, so will no doubt try something else next time. The courtyard is beautiful, and you could sit out there and forget you're in Mechanicsburg. And they also avoided one of my pet peeves with ethnic restaurants, and actually played Greek music in the background rather than some generic crap (though you might find it annoying if you aren't fond of Greek music). The wife accompanied her daughter there a couple days later, and raved about the sweet potato fries, though she'd already had lunch, so didn't try anything else. We did not wait overly long for our food, so perhaps they are getting better at getting it out to the customer.

FINALLY! An authentic Greek Restaurant!!!! I've been ogling the place during renovations, just waiting for them to open! This place definitely exceeds my expectations and was worth the wait! The entire place was redone, very clean and very contemporary with a homey feeling. The menu options were extensive meeting needs for lunch or dinner. I ordered the Spanakopita meal which came with a greek salad and a side for $7.99. I chose the creamy feta dressing over the greek dressing, and literally scooped up any remnants with my lettuce. The salad was fresh, a spring mix of lettuce over the bland iceberg lettuce that most places give out, with juicy fresh tomatoes, generous hunks of feta cheese, cucumbers, red onion, and greek olives. I chose the side of lemon roasted potaotes which were cooked to perfection...very soft yet held their shape. The spanakopita was scrumptious!!! It was a perfect mixture of spinach and cheese, not too salty, with a crispy buttered phyllo crunch on the outside. Yum! The owner gave me a sample of hummus...which resulted in strange looks from some of the other patrons...with my "MMMMMMMMMMM's and This is sooooooooo good" responses. It's lemony and garlicky, without the overpowering taste of tahini. Perfect with the grilled triangles of pita bread. The owners were absolutely delightful and inviting! They were so busy with cooking and keeping the business running, but generously took time to greet the customers and chat. I felt like family visiting their home away from home, and truly felt my business was appreciated. Parking is convenient, with their private lot. They have an extensive patio for nicer weather, where a fountain will be housed in the middle for a perfect Greek ambiance in our little Mechanicsburg. Seriously, even if you prefer the out-of-a-can diner food, give this place a try. New food, especially delicious food will win your taste buds. We need this place to stay! This place is perfect for families, for to-go, or even a romantic date. Oh, and I must note...the unisex bathroom was extremely clean and smelled so good, I was actually looking around for which type of air freshner they used so I could go buy some. The old age anaology of the bathroom cleanliness being indicative of how clean the kitchen is holds true in this place! They both smell good!!! The visit was so enjoyable, and my three year old daughter and I fought over the whole meal. She won. Next time she gets her own! We'll be there again tonight.

Had lunch here yesterday with friends. The weather was nice enough to sit at one of the outdoor tables. The service and friendliness of everyone was excellent, as is the food. I plan on returning very soon. We had gyros and souvlaki (kabobs with rice). Portions are ample; along with the souvlaki comes a side salad and you choose one other side; I chose fasoli (green beans done greek style). I can't recall the name of the dressing I chose but it was creamy, with bits of a soft white cheese that I don't believe was feta. Everything was delicious. I decided to just eat one skewer & take the other home so I had room for dessert. One of us has been there several times and said the baklava cheesecake is to die for; she is correct, so delicious! But it was tempting to select more than one dessert as they have a glass case filled with gourmet desserts. The prices are reasonable and we got there early so we would get parking and a seat. The site is a former (small) bank and apparently the borough will not allow expansion of the building so inside seating is limited. I'm going back real soon.

This little restaurant is our favorite in the entire mid-state. The seared, blackened octopus salad is "to die for." The octopus is cooked perfectly, not too hard, and is always savory, complementing the salad it crowns perfectly! Delicious! The mussels are simply the BEST! You can order freshly baked, warm flatbread that is perfect for soaking up the briny broth. And, the pliant, tasty flatbread is only 50 cents! The service is warm and caring. They give you multiple refills of iced tea. I have seen some wonderful coffee. It looks like the descriptions I have read about Turkish coffee, but I am sure that it is probably Greek! Makes me wish I drank coffee. My husband and I are seafood lovers and are constantly searching the mid-state for correctly cooked, sumptuous seafood. This place rates Number One in our book. My husband also raves about the lamb, but I have not been able to get away from their excellent seafood in order to try it.

So after a few unsuccessful attempts at trying to eat here I finally made it. I arrived about 7:30 on a dark and stormy Saturday. First thing I noticed, pretty much right away was the noise level. Only just inches inside where I once used to pull money out of a mac machine the loud clamoring of conversation and kitchen work was heard clearly. I ventured down the hallway after a brief history and family tour towards the dining area. Looked nice, but small. Seating for about 40-50 people if they all wanted to be really friendly. There was only a few people ahead of me in line so I had just enough time to read the menu and decide I would try their specialty. However when I went to order it I was informed that they were out of anything pork. Fortunately I had a backup plan being the pessimist that I am, and settled on the Chicken Gyro, Greek coffee and Fries. Order was put in at 7:41pm. I was handed a buzzer and told that my order could be picked up to the right of the cashier and my coffee would be delivered to me. Hmm, well if you can deliver my coffee, whats up with not delivering my food. I counted 8 people behind the counter and only 3 of them cooking. Moving on, I pulled out my iPad intent on starting this review but got somehow lost in the sea of Doodle jump instead. Its actually a good thing that I did because had I noticed that 57 minutes passed since ordered, I would have been quite angry at the time. I grabbed my order and returned to the table. Slightly disappointed in the portion/cost ratio for what it was, I ate it anyway. Flavor wise everything was decent. It wasn't what I had prepared my head for initially, however food is food. I will need to give this place another go when they aren't quite as busy. For now, 1 star off for 57 minute wait time, and 1 off for being out of pork.

We could not believe that we have never heard a word about this place even opening! We happened to drive past it the other day and finally got the chance to eat there tonight. Upon entering the place we did notice the odd layout and the high noise level mentioned before but I thought the decor was nicely done. We both had Gyros with a side of Mediteranean Orzo. I thought the food was very good although the portion size was small for the price. We finished with a Greek coffee and a piece of Yia-Yia's Baklava Cheesecake. We did not care for the coffee but the cake was out of this world delicious!! We will be back!

Nice little place. I had a Gyro since I am not accustomed to ordering greek Food. The meat on the Gyro was lamb and beef well spiced had great flavor. The place is very clean and simple surroundings but very comfortable. The staff were very helpful when we were making our orders and they explained the menu very well. Since we were just ordering lunch we didn't order entrees just salads and gyros. we enjoyed our lunch the place was crowded even though it was later in the lunch hours but the atmosphere wasn't loud and most people seemd to keep the volume of their conversations and noise confined to their areas. I believe we will return again for a sampling of their menu. even though it's a small menu it looks like it would offer something for everyones taste. This was my first time here and I am pleasantly suprised and anticipate my return at Dinner Time.

The food here is amazing. I had the chicken gyro, the Greek fries, and the tiropita and it was all to die for. The atmosphere is most similar to a pizza place, although Hellenic does have entrees that you'd expect to see at a more upscale dinner restaurant. It's also BYO -- I'd definitely come for a casual sit down dinner. I hope to be back many times to try all of the other things on the menu, which I'm sure are excellent. I also hope to try the desserts, which look phenonmenal.

I tried this restaurant again. I am not sure why people like this place so much except bc it's the only Greek restaurant around. The set up continues to be odd. We ordered food and went to sit down but there was no where inside to sit so we had to sit outside in the cold. We waited a while for the food and it did not come. They had made an error. We ended up missing our movie bc we waited so long. The food is good but that's it. I've tried this place twice and most likely wont be returning.

Excellent Greek food!!! The place is set up to be kind of a mix of a fast/food/lunch place, so don't expect a real elegant experience, but the food is very good. The signature Gyro was very good. The small things, like the fresh onions, tomatoes and home-made Tzatziki sauce are what make it great. Got the potato side dish (lemon potatoes, maybe?) - really good. I wonder if they can do other greek stuff really well, besides the Gyro Suvlaki stuff, but hey, still better than we were here before this. Very good lunch place.

Everything we tried was excellent. The saganaki was the best I've ever had and the tzaziki sauce on the gyro was so thick and flavorful...the onions provided some sweetness! The hummus we had was very good and my husband said his spanikopita was also great. The desserts all looked wonderful and we settled on some baklava. It was delicious! I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the near future and I'm telling all of my friends to check this place out!

I went here with my husband on valentines night, at 7pm on a Friday night. We were able to find seating when we arrived, although by the time we left they were full. We loved not having to wait two hours to get a table like most places were on valentines night. Ordering: you order at a counter and find a seat like a fast food restaurant... A little different considering I'm paying quite a bit more for the food. Food: We had the lamb special which was two lamb skewers over rice a side and a small salad. We ordered the feta salad, absolutely delicious! Loved the black olives and the dressing, it's a salad I'd crave to have over and over. My husband loved the lamb, it came out tender and hot, I just wish that it came with something else, maybe a sauce or something to dip. I ordered the pork gyro, which was served with chips. The tzatziki sauce was incredible in the gyro. Fresh tomatoes, bread, I can't wait to try their lamb and beef gyro next time. Baklava, I'd come here just to take home a square of this yummy confection. Greek coffee, we ordered it with one sugar, It was kind of weak for me, there is sediment in the bottom of the cup, not an issue for me since I'm used to this as we have a Vue and if you brew your own grounds this will also happen. Price: we spent over $60 for two with tip, the only drinks that were ordered were the Greek coffee, I honestly think they are a bit pricey. Not sure I'd take my kids there or we'd have a $100 plus bill. I'd come back and just order the gyros though, they were under $8 with chips. Staff: most of the staff we dealt with were quite young, BUT they were a delight! Knowledgeable about their menu, courteous, attentive. Overall, I'd give them a 4 1/2 stars.

Nice find. I had a traditional gyro which was very good. They serve Pepsi products which are not to my liking. Full coffee/cappuccino service. Great selection of deserts. It was quite crowded for a Saturday lunch. I'll go back again.

Happy to see they are under construction for an expansion! Tried the special--chicken oreganata--was really Delish! Hope they make it a regular menu item! Napoleon cheesecake was our favorite dessert.

The baklava cheesecake it to die for, agreed. Several good options for those of us who are heath conscious (grilled kabobs on first try were very dry but on second they were delish), including some fresh veggies that are often difficult to find in restaurants in this area. However, for the location and type of restaurant I think they are a bit pricey.

Fast casual style belies the true value and quality of a meal here. The food is excellent. I enjoyed pastichio with the green beans and my wife had spanacopita. We shared a feta salad and a humous plate. The humous was sweeter than most but still within the range of acceptable takes on this dish. The beshmel was particularly good. It was not overly rich or goopy. All this was only $21. Serious bang for buck. Will be back soon I hope.

I have been remiss in not rating this place before now! This is simply one of my favorite places, hands down. I saw it the week it opened, and a friend who is ethically Greek and has lived there recommended it highly. Located in what was formerly a drive through bank, massive renovations were undertaken. With that being said, it is my understanding that they will be expanding the parking area and POSSIBLY the dining area this spring (2013). It is also my understanding that they have been contemplating adding a delivery component to their wares. That will be deadly to my waistline... Anyway- back to the review. As they are now, entering the building is a bit different. You enter either from the front, or if parking in the lot, at the end of the building closest to the cross street (you may exit, however, from the end of the counter). Their internal set up is more like a lunch counter/cafe/coffee shop, so you order, take a pager, and find a seat. The dining area is small, and usually is pretty loud- but is attractively decorated and inviting. There is seating back in where you enter from the rear of the building, and in the warmer months, seating outside. This is totally my speculation/opinion, but I suspect the vault and the original purpose of the building has had an impact on why the space is laid out like it is. Their lot is a bit small and parking can be tight. However, there is plenty of onstreet parking nearby on Main and on the cross street next to the restaurant. Just be sure and observe courteous parking laws, as Mechanicsburg will ticket for blocking hydrants, driveways, parking too far out from the curb... otherwise known as jerk parking:-). Now- the best part. THE FOOD! I have ordered most everything and many, many times. My faves are the pastitsio, the lemon potatoes, the traditional gyro... and then there are the desserts. The baklava cheesecake is delicious, and so are the Napoleons... and the black forest cake, and the ... you get the idea. The lamb shank is a huge meal, and sumptuous, and they have coffees and other types of drinks besides fountain and bottled beverages. They are BYOB. One note, this is NOT A FAST FOOD PLACE. I have heard folks carp in line about the wait and the fact that sometimes, they run out of something at the end of the evening. They make everything fresh, and I think when they opened they had no idea it was going to be the success it has been! It is a family owned and run business, with the owner cooking behind the counter, and many members of the family working as well. Go hungry. Also, they are closed on Sundays and Mondays, and check their schedule around traditional Greek religious observance days/holidays.

Meats are all frozen and not fresh here despite what you see when you wait in line. The way this place operates is very annoying. You wait in line forever to order and then you sit down for approximately 35 min waiting to get your food like any other restaurant. Also, I see young children filling water and serving here. I wouldn't be surprised if this restaurant violates PA department of labor and industry laws.

Nice but not great. The look and feel of the place is decent. The layout is terrible. We ended up waiting in a line which wrapped around the corner. The line wait was long (20+ minutes) and it took another 50+ minutes for our food to come to our table. If they had a better layout they'd be better off with table service. Unfortunately, you're stuck with counter service (which is really only counter ordering since you don't walk away with your food). There was not a huge list of options and the items on the menu are nothing exotic. The typical "Greek foods for Americans" type of menu. I'd love to see someone do things you can't find on any old Greek menu - Sfougato, Bouyourdi, Melitzanopita, Kleftiko. The value for what you get varies. Some things are way over priced and others are decent. The staff was very friendly. No complaints there. Patrons seemed confused about whether or not they were supposed to bus their own tables. The restaurant should make it clear. I'd go back but it wouldn't be a regular choice for me.

Made this our lunch stop on way to Pittsburgh from South Jersey. Glad we did! The Baklava Cheesecake was our appetizer and was amazing. I had a standard Gyro and it matched the best I had - sauce very flavorful, pita warm and fresh. My son had the Signature Gyro (pork) and he loved it. Meat was well seasoned. We shared seasoned fries and they were good; a unique blend of seasoning that was tangy and sweet.

I have been here a bunch of times and it is AMAZING. Consistently delicious and fresh every time. They always have a ton of kids working and they are all SO friendly!! The things I love to get are are the baklava cheesecake, tiropita, and the Greek salad with creamy feta dressing. It's a byob and definitely the perfect place for it. The outdoor seating set up and lighting is very cute. My family is in love with this place and I highly recommend it!

A Mechanicsburg gem! The food is always delicious and the service is always polite and attentive. Expect to bus your own table. If this isn't something you care to do, you've been warned. Hey, if they can keep prices down and have amazing food by having me contribute a bus, I'm all for it! Desserts are AMAZING, so leave some room for them or take one home! It can get busy and crowded at mealtimes, and seating is limited especially in inclement weather. That's because the food rocks, people! Plan accordingly!

Love the souvlaki. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful. Busy for a reason and worth the wait. Desserts are really good too.

I may have darts thrown at me because of this review but let me explain. The parking is ample, good layout, it has great a good vibe, exterior structure is superb. It reminds me of a place you'd find in New York very sleek cosmopolitan and upscale. Casual dining however here's where my review turns from three out of five stars. The food is mediocre, I've had better food at Greek diners. The portion size is questionable. Price point doesn't match quality of food. You have to preorder and then sit down, and then they bring in the food. This layout is not very efficient and not very equitable as it does not lend to a good balance of patron flow. Here's what you come here for. Period. The desserts are absolutely the best in the area and the café is wonderful. Coffee and desserts is obviously their strong suit. I would give it four out of five stars if they change their ordering process-layout, if they increase the portion size of their food and drop their price point slightly. For the area I can spend as much for as quality if not better than at other restaurants.

Nice place, nice modern decor. Layout is a little funky. I'm not sure what this place was before it became the Kouzina, a bank maybe? We ordered the hummus and it was delicious. We also ordered the tirokafteri which I absolutely loved. Fortunately, there was a char-grilled octopus salad special. Wow, I was blown away by that. It was absolutely delicious. So, why only 4 stars? They were out of dolmades!! A Greek staple. The octopus was delicious but it was served salad-style with run of the mill greens. They could have made that a little nicer. The spreads were great, the staff was friendly. A previous reviewer noted the confusion of whether they should bus their own table or not. I was confused by this as well. Twice, someone came to our table to see how everything was going. Once, they got me a refill. But we had to bus our own table. Confusing. We will be back. FYI, it was a Saturday afternoon around lunchtime and they weren't busy but they were steady. Our food came out quickly.

Let me say I am always willing to give somewhere a second chance. That being said, if you mess up that second chance... forget it. The first time we went here we were informed that it would take 40 min. for our food. Mind you this is a place where you order at the counter, so I find waiting 40 min. unacceptable. We walked out. We decided to give it another go tonight since the weather was beautiful we thought we would sit on their terrace. We ordered and waited... for 30 min. Seriously? We watched several people who ordered before us get their food. When our food finally arrived they had messed up my order and forgot to bring the side salad on my boyfriends order. Fool me twice shame on me! Although they apologized I thought the food was too mediocre to justify the terrible service and them messing up our order. We will not be returning.

I was quite excited for what promised to be an authentic Greek restaurant in this area. Unfortunately, major fail - to me it's just a "Greek" version of Panera bread, which I will pick any day over this place. The meat was dry and barely seasoned, the customer service sucked. Desserts however were amazing, that's what it gets an additional star for.

Just finished the most amazing Greek dinner for this area! The food was fantastic, the people pleasant and despite the fact that it's on the high end in price, I would definitely eat there again. Their Greek salad is the best I've had (even better than the annual Greek festival) and their baklava cheesecake is out of this world. If you're looking to eat quickly, this isn't the place for you. A majority of their food is made in house, on the spot, so there is a wait time. If you go when they are busy (which is pretty much any time they're open), then you're going to have to wait. I've found that if you have a bigger order (say, for a family of four), that it's best to call the order in. The wait isn't as bad as some have made it out to be. The place is pretty cool inside and you can watch the staff make most of the food. They are also so friendly that they will even talk to you as they're working. The owner is very good at remember people who are there on a regular basis and always makes sure to say hello. Also, if you're looking for a cheap meal, this isn't exactly the place to go. They serve tons of food with a meal and that does come at somewhat of a cost. A small Greek salad can run $5. If you don't mind the wait and spending a little more for a quality, authentic Greek meal, then you need to check this place out. Just remember, they're closed Sundays and Mondays and their parking can be a bit tricky during busy hours.

As Mechanicsburg residents this place is a godsend! We love the place already! The food is excellent. Everything is fresh, well seasoned and expertly prepared. The prices are very reasonable. The portions are not overly large but we have never left hungry (nor have we ever had room for the ridiculously decadent looking desserts... baklava cheesecake... my God). The gyros are excellent (the traditional and signature are both great). We are a big fan of the greek style fries. They are a surprisingly excellent side. The spreads are fantastic (and we ve tried pretty much all of them). The service has been great. It is not fast food... just because it is not table side service doesn t mean the food should be instantly ready. The head cashier knew my name by the our third visit (and has referred to me by name each subsequent visit). On our first visit, the owner personally stopped us on our way out to introduce himself. He gave us a breif tour and thanked us for our business... it was a great personal touch to a great experience. They recently opened the outdoor patio and dining al fresco is an extra added bonus. We skipped the Greek Festival this year for the first time in a long time... why would drive to Camp Hill for far inferior greek food? We have the real deal in our back yard!

This place is great!! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I had the Chicken Souvlaki (chicken skewers)..they were seasonly PERFECTLY! They provided two "kebob sticks" full of chicken pieces over a bed of fluffy and again, perfectly seasoned, rice. This also came with a side ( I had the orzo with peas and feta) and a greek salad. All for $10.99!!! You cannot forget about the dessert. The large, fluffy and delicious looking desserts are to die for! The baklava cheesecake (cheesecake encased in actual baklava) is just out of this world. YUM! The owners came over to speak to us and thank us- they are super friendly and excited about this new restaurant. Let's support a great local Greek restaurant!!! Also, BYOB and they are adding a patio outside. I have a feeling this place is going to be the new "place to go!" Parking also available in parking lot or along main street. The interior is nicely decorated- dark blues with whites and dark wooden walls. You must try it!

This place is great- it's very friendly, and I haven't gotten anything I didn't like. The gyros are awesome and the baclava cheesecake is one of the best desserts I've ever had.

What a find! I live in the Hershey area and decided to randomly google greek restaurants, being from NY, I crave delicious greek cuisine every now & then. I am so happy to find this gem in Mechanicsburg, it's a little bit of a drive for me but well worth it. The food and staff are amazing. I had a gyro with greek fries, hummus and pita and baklava cheesecake, everything was fresh prepared and incredibly authentic. I can't wait to go again. My only complaint is that you're not closer to my house!! :)

I really wanted to give this place more stars, but I just couldn't. I LOOOVE Greek food and really hoped that I could take advantage of this restaurant more often. Unfortunately, it is crazy expensive! And if I do feel like blowing that much money, I can't find a place to park. If I find a place to park, I won't have a wait shorter than 45 minutes. If the wait is short, they'll be out of what I originally wanted. And so on, and so on, and so on. If all my stars align, the food is probably worth four stars, but the entire package only earns three.
