This place never disappoints. I've had the onion rings, onion soup, wings, a burger...it's all good. Drinks are well made, they have Guinness on tap. Prices are reasonable, service is very good. What's not to love?

Great after work watering hole. Good food, drinks, service, and friendly regulars. Watched a few games here and there are plenty of screens. Lots of parking out back. It is a smoking establishment so be warned you will smell like an ashtray when you leave.

NOT what we expected, Fer Sure, when searching for a PA Dive. Great authentic woodwork, too - extensive menu lol, knowledgeable bartender, near-chef-quality food, bright, clean, airy, ez parking (Sunday), and friendly afternoon patrons. Do Not Avoid cos Yelp says 'Dive,' but pls don't change the listing cos I want to find it again. Soon.

Better than carlisle's version, this Gman has a friendlier staff, better bar setup, and is much more relaxed. Drinks are affordable, the bar is always clean and looks organized, even when its extremely busy, which is pretty much all the time during the weekend. The bartenders can mix you just about anything and they make them strong here. The only downside is that you won't find much parking that's relatively close when they get busy.

Terrible. Horrible service. Friday night at 11pm. I get it. It's busy. But I sat down with my husband was promptly waited on. I ordered a Guinness and it was served to me HALF FULL (I waited 5 mins to make sure it had settled properly because they just poured it and slammed it down like I was unconvincing them) and in a Stella snifter. The older woman with glasses then ran away before I could say anything. When I alerted the male bartender, who was the only one who I could get to help me, he said, "Haven't you ever had a Guinness before? That's how they are served. REALLY? I AM A BARTENDER MYSELF... NOPE. No. No. Not even close. I asked if I could get a vodka and soda instead. He huffed and puffed and got me my drink. Food was fine. Service after that was just ok (asked three times for an ashtray... Never got one). I ordered one more vodka soda and got our bill. When the check came, I was charged for the Guinness ($6) and just one vodka ($5.5) and when we tracted down the woman who so poorly poured the Guinness in the first place she said that it was easier to keep it that way. She then continued to explain that they charge a $0.50 service fee for all drinks sent back... So instead of charging for two vodkas ($11 plus the "fifty cent fee") it would be easier to charge for the Guinness and one vodka ($11.50). Are you kidding me? Why am I paying for your shitty mistake. It is not hard to pour a Guinness. Its bartending 101! Huh. Shame on you glasses lady! Oh, and at one point while we were eating the male bartender reached over my husband and his meal to steal my lighter without even asking to light his cigarette. What? In all my years I've never seen that. No thank you... No sorry. He has balls... I'll give him that.

Classified as a dive bar, but it's a step up from that. Very nice selection of drinks, menu is larger than you'd expect. I had the English Style Beef sandwich, it was good... Lots of thin sliced beef but the onions & mushrooms needed to be caramelized. The bun was soft so you can't really dip it in the au jus or you'll have a soggy mess on your hands (according to the menu it's supposed to come on a hard bun). It paired very nice with the horseradish though. It's a smoking establishment, disappointing but the regulars seemed to prefer it that way. Staff was nice, but somewhat disengaged and not focused on the customers... Definitely had a feel of being there for a while and they seemed happy with how things are.

Any experience at a restaurant or bar rests heavily on the service. The bartender was slow to return for drink orders consistently and seemed to disappear. Mind you, this is on a quiet Monday evening. The bartender is unable to make mixed drinks well by her own admission. I order a drink but she says she can't make it well but can make the same in shot form. When I get the bill I find that she has chargerd me $6.50 per shot. When I ask about it cause it seemed quite expensive she said that was the price for the shots cause they are the same as the mixed drink. So the bartender talked me into these shots instead of a full mixed drink (failing to mention price) I could have gotten at the same price. Due to the fact she couldn't make the drink. Her inability to bartend cost me more $. I feel she knowingly ripped me off to save the bar $.

Limited menu and staff that likes to mistreat your food. Came in towards the end if lunch and received a burger covered in hair. Covered.

Excellent bar, strong drinks, couple of pool tables, lots of screens to watch the games, wonderful bar staff and pretty decent food. Add in the plentiful parking in the back and what's not to love. The only downside (and the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars) is smoking is allowed in the bar...came out smelling like an ashtray.

Had a great time there... Live music was awesome. Had it be a no smoking place it would get 5 stars.

Ah, yes, it may be a dive bar, but at least they make semi decent wings to eat while watching a game. The bar is most of the time filled with local townies who have been there since noon, and the "restaurant" section at the front of the house is kinda laughable since the only time it ever really gets busy there is during Jubilee day. It's dark, it's smokey, it's loud, and I feel like a cowboy every time I push through those swinging wooden doors at the top of the ramp. It pays to know the bartender and the locals well since most of their drinks are made free pouring style. Total, this isn't a fancy place. It's a spot to come in, get drinks, eat bar food, watch the game, run into the locals, and spend money. Pretty much all someone who lives in Mechanicsburg has to look forward to.

I've been to the Mechanicsburg G-man a few times and I've got to say this place is always loud, and usually quite crowded. I can't honestly say if they serve food or not, but they do have a decent size bar, small stage for live music, and pool tables. Definitely a dive, this G-man seems to appeal mostly to the younger crowd.

Go there M-F between 3-5pm and you be the only one there and then be charged high prices on drinks. What gives. Could be a great after work hang out if it could adjust prices and attract customers.

Stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite to eat in the early evening. The restaurant area (non-smoking) was completely empty, but the bar (smoking allowed) had a bunch of people hanging out. The waitress, who was very friendly, gave us menus and wow, there was a lot of items to choose from. Our order was hot spinach dip (served with tortilla chips), a California Burger for me and hot wings for my friend. Our beverages were a Troegs draft and a #9 bottle. Spinach dip was tasty, as were the wings. Quite a generous portion of wings too, I think it was a dozen. The kitchen was out of avocado for my burger, which was slightly overcooked, but not ruined. I ordered medium and it was closer to well done. We definitely left there full, but were a little surprised at the price tag on the beers - $5 each. All in all, not a bad place, and looks like a decent place to booze. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again, but wouldn't avoid it either.
