Saw that this place had opened up not too long ago, I just lacked the time to swing in. However, last night I had plenty of time after working out. I figured what better way to completely negate the 45 minutes I just spent at the gym. I'm glad I stopped by. Lets start off with the negatives, of which there are not many but worth mentioning here. While I will agree with the other reviewers in saying that the decorators did a fantastic job on the inside. The one factor that could not have been foreseen would have been the sheer amount of traffic that would need to be accommodated. On a day with only a few customers this particular setup poses no real problem. However on hot summer evenings when the local baseball and soccer clubs descend, there will be blood. Just in the time I was there I took notice to the absolute throngs of adults and children trying to navigate through smaller and smaller spaces to get to where they wanted to be, inside and out. The other negative is something I'm sure they are working diligently to fix . It would be the fact that they are currently on dial up. So any credit/debit transactions make the line come to a halt. There is no ATM on location and the closest one is across the street at the drug store, so either bring cash or enjoy the wait for now. Now onto the meat of the review. The good stuff so to speak. Bamboo takes an approach that pretty much takes customer dissatisfaction out of the way. "You" are the creator of your sundae. You and you alone know its true secrets.. Is that chocolate or fudge?? Did you put gummy bears on the bottom? Is it a horrible tasting beast of a thing because you mixed too many things into it? Only yourself is to blame or congratulate. The only thing Bamboo wants to know is the weight of the item. Interesting because that's the only thing as a man you aren't allowed to know about a woman and yoghurt is such a bad, bad girl. Charges go by the ounce and at the time of this writing it was 47 cents per. They have lots of toppings to choose from. Cookies to fruit, cereal to tapioca pearls, nuts, syrups, and nectars. The spoons have labels on them to help inform you of what you are looking at. After designing your decadent treat you are instructed to place it upon a scale for the actual weigh in and total. This is nice but personally I would like to see a pre-sale scale somewhere that you can see the total you are currently up to. All in all I really enjoyed my first experience to this establishment which is such a breath of fresh air. It seems like the owners have a lot of care for this business and want it to do well. I sincerely hope they do achieve that and are around for a long time. Great location off the Carlisle pike. I'll definitely be back with friends and family.

Bamboo is awesome. The atmosphere is as perfect as the yogurt. Tons of space so I could enjoy my yogurt while my kids enjoyed theirs in the kid area. TV's, fire places, Wi-Fi, coffee, outdoor seating, super friendly staff and LOCALLY OWNED! Great selection of yogurt and toppings. I hear they even do guest appearances by their panda mascot to entertain the kids. No doubt, I'll be back again very soon...

Best froyo on the area! Great texture and taste!

We just recently found this place after visiting a similar yogurt cafe in Philadelphia (Whirled Peace). We were pleasantly surprised by the large selection of yogurt flavors and well stocked toppings bar. Everything was clean and well maintained, and even though there were quite a few people serving themselves, there was plenty of room to move and just a short wait to pay. Now that we know this place exists, we'll definitely be making regular stops here in the future.

Driving home from Gettsyburg after buying a motorcycle we stopped at this place for a little break......Wow!! this place is Da Bomb!!! Who ever designed this place deserves a A+, the colors, layout, is outstanding. Now bout the yogurt, they must have 10 machines with 2 different types of yogurt and a mix of the 2 in the middle. If you cant find something you like here something is wrong with you. Like the other posts say Wi-Fi, coffee, kids room, this place has it all. Espically the deserts by Dana, that guy who won the next greatest baker on tv. Lots of choices for toppings, lots of flavors, man,,,dis place got it all!!!! Plus the girls working there are real cute, some girl named Jenny waited on me, pretty cool chick!!! Its a shame they don't have anything like this in Millsboro where I live, but the next time I buy a motorcycle in Gettsyburg I will stop here fur shure.

Has become my new hangout for the summer, not in favor to my waistline. Super friendly service and it's great seeing the owners around.

why in the world is your orignal tart made with splenda........uhhh YUCK! meh. cool interior, and comfy atmosphere with fireplace please do us all a favor, use real sugar that might help the flavor a bit.

Love that they have the nutritional information for the FroYo and live music...fun atmosphere. Favorite: Chocolate and Cherry Amaretto with fresh fruit toppings.

Awesome tasting yogurt, better than Sweet Frog in my opinion. The toppings are plentiful and when used judiciously add to the overall taste and texture of the yogurt. My kids love this place and would go daily if we'd allow it. Salted caramel (?) is my favorite base flavor. Best frozen yogurt on the West shore.

Bamboo's yogurt consistency was better than that of Sweet Frog, but still seriously lacking in flavor and texture compared to places outside of Central PA, like Tutti Frutti. While their Tart was not as tangy as Sweet Frog, they did have another good flavor: Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel. It was salty, rich, sweet, but not overpowering with sugar like the other flavors. If you're looking for frozen yogurt in Central PA, this may be your best bet, but I strongly urge you to go to elsewhere, like Baltimore, DC, or Philadelphia. Flavors tried: Cookies and Cream, Tart, Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel, Cinnamon Bun, Peppermint, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Mint, Orange Sorbet.

HURRAY!!!!!! No one knows how excited I was about finding out this place opened up here in the sticks of unhealthy Central Pennsylvania. I grew up here, and it seems like if it is healthy in ANY way, it shall be run out of town with a mob of fire and pitchforks. I literally let out a squeal of giddy happiness when I opened the door. After being out west...Colorado/California where a tart yogurt place is literally on EVERY block, I was used to it being a nice healthy treat/snack weekly. I missed it terribly the last 2 years and Voila! I walked in and stated my happiness to the women behind the counter and the owner spoke with me saying how they were doing "ok" here in the area. They just are not sure the idea is catching on. It's not exactly deep fried and baked in lard. The place is rather large and immaculate. Beautifully decorated, tables, couches, kiddie playstations, outside tables and umbrellas. Beautiful floors, fresh paint, new furniture. Here is the thing. It's not ice cream, it's not "yogurt"...it's yogurt, frozen. It's along the lines of pink berry or red mango stores, although the owner said they only have one tart flavor (plain) at the moment because the local population has no idea about it, and is hesitant to "try" something healthy and new(even though they will give you as many little paper pill cups to try every flavor if you want, twice.) There were something like 6 machines (All soft serve), 2 flavors per each machine, and set up with a mix flavor in the middle. Off the top of my head some flavors I remember.... -red velvet cake -cake batter -salted pretzel -mocha -cinnamon bun -california Tart I tried maybe 8 flavors....I was so happy I felt like I was dreaming. They were each so amazing and delicious, I tried a few twice to narrow my choice down. The thing is, especially with the tart, you have to TRY IT. Then TRY IT again. I found the first time I tried it, my brain didn't know what to do with the taste bud information because it had never tasted something like it before. I wasn't sure I loved it. Then I got home, and i was craving it, and I didn't know why! NOW, I would happily and actively give up all flavors of ice cream/yogurt forever to just have this kind of yogurt. It's just so stinking good, but by advice is to get some cups and keep tasting. Even at first if you think you hate it....just give it a second. It's just different. Now, it's a serve yourself situation, so there is ONE SIZE cup. YOU get a cup and you put whatever you want in it. My advice is that you remember your eyes are bigger than your stomach and they charge you by the ounce. So a medium filled cup can add up to $5-6-7 easily. The price always tended to keep me mindful of how much I put in my cup, plus toppings TOPPINGS!!!!!!! can weigh you down and add up. Let's talk TOPPINGs!!!!! This isn't just sprinkles, chocolate, fudge, caramel....etc In fact I am not sure that all those are even there. Again, this place is supposed to be *more*healthy! So there are fresh fruits of so many kinds, banana, mango, strawberries, coconut, peanut butter cups, but the MOST important for me was MOCHI!!!!! I almost started to tear up, THEN I saw they had strawberry and mango flavored BOBA too! My 2/3 full cup of 1/3 salted pretzel and 1/3 mocha and 1/3 tart with mochi, boba, and chocolate chips, with a few pieces of banana added up to $5.67.......I knew it was more than I should have had, hell it was almost a lb.! But it was 2 years since I had ANY, and I was ready to roll around in my cup before I ate it lol. PLEASE help this company succeed in the area so MORE companies like them can move in. I am a vegetarian TRYING to find places to enjoy and there is no where but Texas roadhouse, and Chilis....plus Wendy's and Cracker Barrel. This place is friendly, CLEAN, DELICIOUS, and if you can not be ridiculous with your proportions and teach your kids to control proportions, and you try something NEW, you might be surprised. I REALLY hope this company makes it and continues to thrive in the area. They are on the Carlisle Pike across from the Olde Ale House, the Mechanicsburg end right on the intersection.

Large variety of flavors, they have a vanilla, no sugar added that is delicious. Everything is always clean, staff are friendly, they have a rewards program that is free to join. They also have a huge selection of toppings including fresh fruit and ample seating. Good for kids as well as a cute place for a date, snack, or desert.

Our family favorite. The kids love the play section and the toppings bar. I love the Carmel Sea Salt Froyo.

Out of the other frozen yogurt places on the Pike, this is the winner for me. The layout is great, especially when you have access to both sides of the toppings bar. There was a reasonable crowd when I went, but I didn't feel crowded as I made my choices. The flavor choices were great, and there were so many toppings to choose from that I know I probably gave myself a cavity with the sugary goodies I piled into my cup. If you don't want a cup, you can get your ice cream in a cone, which I think is great. I will definitely be back, especially with their rewards program. :)

I am a Bamboo addict. In my opinion there is no contest between Sweet Frog and Bamboo. The consistency is far better and the taste is creamier here. I'm lucky that they are located farther away from me now, because I'd be here constantly! I haven't even tried the new place by toys r us because I am so pleased with Bamboo I just don't see the point. The have a wonderful little area for children with smaller chairs, cartoons, and toys. It is the perfect place to take my 3 year old for a treat.

I am a huge ice cream fan and when I heard about bamboo, I had to check it out. My husband and I went on a warm evening. It was crowded, but we didn't have to wait long to see the variety of unique favors along the wall. I tried red velvet mixed with chocolate. The topping bar is great, too! I used mini animal crackers, strawberries and chocolate chips. The yogurt was flavorful and delicious. Bamboo is somewhere everyone should try. Definitely a nice change on a warm day!

Great tasting yogurt, a very nice layout and many interesting toppings and flavors to try! Very good overall.

This is a really nice yogurt place, with different, and complementary flavors. For example, they keep a dark chocolate next to a caramel salty pretzel (forge tthe exact name)....so you can make it a chocolate caramel pretzel. I do think it's a little expensive at .47 per ounce, and the parking can be nerveracking...if you go a little further down, there is parking behind the building. It's clean and comfortable. They also offer coffee and other desserts, like coconut cake. Am really pleased with both the new yogurt places in Mechanicsburg.

I'm not the sort of person who gets overly enthusiastic about this type of place. But I enjoyed the set-up where you select your flavor of frozen yogurt (can we please ban the term "fro-yo" forever?) and then your toppings. There frozen yogurt selection gives you the option of individual flavors, or combinations with levers between pairings. Flavor selection ranged from regular (chocolate, vanilla) to the more esoteric (I got some sort of pretzel thing). The toppings bar is massive, with a great variety between candies, syrups, and fruits. Atmosphere is nice: there are a number of tvs, but with subtitles--no sound. The seating isn't cramped, and there's plenty of it. Like I said, not the sort of product that I would normally rave about, but I'd not mind going back sometime. And that's something.

Best yogurt place I've been too ever!!! So many yummy flavors & toppings!! It's also really nice inside!!

I prefer bamboo frozen yogurt over any other frozen yogurt place around Mechanicsburg! I think it's mostly because they're only frozen yogurt place that has all the junk food to pile high on top of your frozen yogurt! I also find that I never spend too much money when I'm there! THey constantly had flavors I like instead of off-the-wall flavors and sherbets! Whenever were in the mood for frozen yogurt we always head for bamboo

This place is amazing, I can't believe it took me this long to find it. Staff were great, food is amazing and the business concept itself it's more than a little bit impressive.

Hard to get in Good flavors Good toppings, but messy toppings bar I don't understand the coffee shop In the back I also don't understand why they sell baked goods It's also the most expensive of the three

It's been a year since I first visited Bamboo and they continue to impress me. They have new flavors just about every other time we go (Cupcake Batter, Pomegranate Energy?! Yum). Their bathrooms are clean, the tables are always mess-free and of course the frozen yogurt is fantastic. I just got home from Bamboo again and it seems as if they've revamped their outside area. They have a cute fence surrounding the patio and lots more seating. Now I feel a little more safe sitting out next to the parking lot with my 3 year old.

Drove by this place quite a few times before stopped in for dessert one evening after reading all the great reviews on Yelp. I really didn't think the frozen yogurt could be any different than the chain places but I was wrong. The prices were reasonable and the yogurt was really quite good. The topping bar was impressive as well. Not just the usual kid-focused stuff like gummy bears and sour worms (though those are there too though.) There's a lot of fruit, granola, nuts, and other healthy toppings. The atmosphere is a little different but a cool concept. Sorta Starbucks meets a smoothie bar. There's nooks and small tables, couches, plus TVs (on mute) and a few simulated fish tanks. I'm not sure how sustainable of a business this is but for as long as it lasts, Bamboo is highly recommended as a relaxing place to have a healthy desert with some friends.

Nice little place with a cool atmosphere. Not to mention the yogurt is good. It really seems like a cool place go hang out with friends perhaps after dinner or a movie. Its pretty spacious for an FROYO joint, but the parking lot is a little small.

I just love this place! The kids love their "kiddie section" and more importantly I feel comfortable letting them play in it while my husband and I enjoy our desserts. The atmosphere is so fun yet relaxing.

They frozen yogurt places are popping up all over the place. Super concept...frozen goodness, with a buffet of toppings...purchased by the ounce. Genious! Well, THIS PLACE is the BEST of them all...and it's local (not a chain). Great taste, they say it's healthy...and the best part is they provide a place to sit and hang out. I've been to Sweet Frog (in VA) but have not had the desire to wait in the line for the local version...tiny cramped store front with very few charis... Bamboo has a huge space, with beautiful interior, TVs, kids area and lots of outdoor seating. The parking lot leaves something to be desired, but the overall experience is one of the best I've ever had :) I wouldn't say you get a ton of sweet goodness for your money, but again, it's totally worth it :) Treat yourself and go today. Restroom Review - 9 out of 10...super clean, nice size and decorated well...

Super cute place. Great flavors and adequate topping choices. It reminds me of sweet frog with a better atmosphere.

I wasn't a huge fan of the taste of the yogurt...but the layout and feel of Bamboo is excellent. These types of businesses are popping up everywhere, and I can't imagine they will all survive......Bamboo ranks the highest

Awesome. I love when things like this finally come the central PA. This is the nicest yogurt place I've found in all my travels. The layout cuts back on the crappy lines like you find at Sweet Frog down the street. Everything is clean. The topping options are great. The yogurt is good. We've even eaten it for dinner on really hot nights when we opt for just yogurt, fruit, nuts, and whipped cream. ;) The kids like seasonal options. We'll keep returning and returning and returning. Fortunately, they have a "frequent buyer" program. Every few visits we get a discount. :) My kids like to disappear into the kids area to watch some TV. We also like to sit on the couches in the back. When it first opened the parking was a disaster. Now that some of the novelty has worn off it's usually pretty easy to get in and out except at peak times on very warm days.

Self serve frozen yogurt in delicious and unique flavors/combinations like sea salt caramel. Top it off with an astounding variety of cookies, candies, pretzels, fruit, & sauces... It's like an ice cream wonderland. Seriously. Try it! You pay by the pound for your personalized treat. Grab a chair and enjoy in their clean and comfortable seating area. There's even mini furniture for the littler ones.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy Bamboo as much as I did, but they won me over. We arrived just before 7PM and there was a small line. By the time we finished our yogurt and left the line was at least 20 people deep. I read an article that Bamboo is independently owned by three local couples. Knowing this, I was surprised by the investment that has clearly been made in renovating and decorating the space. It also has distinct areas--yogurt and toppings, cozy coffee shop-like nook in the back, and a kid's play area. The only thing that is frustrating is the layout of the yogurt-toppings-cashier areas. With too many people it becomes difficult to navigate. The deal is you pay $0.47/oz. However, beware, they have only one size container, which is practically a bucket. It can quickly add up if you want to try 5 different kinds of yogurt and then top it with heavy adornments like cookie dough balls. I proceeded with restraint. I tried pomegranate creme which was a non-fat yogurt swirled with a regular fat Tahitian vanilla. Then I topped it with mochi!! I also added a dollop of sea salt caramel yogurt dusted with grahm and crowned with two tiny animal crackers. I am somewhat of a topping purist. But that's what is great about this place, there truly is something for everyone. From non-fat and sugar-free yogurt options and fresh fruits to the most decadent add-ons like hot fudge, brownies, and pirouette cookies--your treat can be tailored from fresh and healthy to sinful and indulgent. I will definitely go back.
