My friend and I heard about this restaurant from a co-worker. We were initially going to go downtown but then the storm arrived so we decided to stay close to the hotel and try this restaurant instead. Since this is a newer restaurant, the interior was nice and fresh. They have about 40 different beers on trap as well as crafted cocktails. I ordered the Short Line Club - it raspberry, egg white and bourbon or something. I forget... all I remember is, I'm not ordering it again. The alcohol taste was super strong and the egg white had this smell that was pretty off putting. I ordered the crab cake sammich w/ brussels sprouts (instead of fries). The crab cake sat on a fried green tomato and topped with arugula between two slices of bread. The Sammich was actually pretty good. The brussels sprouts weren't -- bitter, bland and wasn't properly roasted -- they looked like they were charred then steamed. We actually ordered fried rock shrimp since we're two fat kids at heart and couldn't wait to get our main courses. *sigh* The rock shrimps were tasty. They had two dips with it; balsamic and a green avocado --- they could have left the green one off. Anyway... not bad over all. I may have just ordered the wrong items. Oh, I forgot, the glass smelled funky - maybe from the detergent? We couldn't figure it out.

This place is a home run. My wife and I had dinner here tonight and it is a welcomed new restaurant to our favorites list. Plenty of great beers on tap. An excellent menu ranging from burgers to steak and ahi tuna (which is what we ordered). Generous portions and very high quality meats and veggies. Pricing was fair for the quality... I don't mind paying a bit more for a great meal, as we had. The atmosphere is semi trendy but not too much to scare away the locals. A nice sized bar area with TVs and smaller tables, and a separate dining only area. We sat at a small table in the bar area and had great service. We will be back, for sure.

So disappointing... This place has all the potential in the world but fell short across the board. Service was slow, food was bad. Beer and drink list was good. Atmosphere was nice. But... Everything was so salty. We had a creole/crab appetizer, and though it was filled with crab, it was way too salty. My wife ordered a steak to be made medium and it was cooked well done. Not acceptable for a restaurant that aspires to be first rate. There was a sauce or demi glaze that was...you guessed it...salty. The brussel sprouts were undercooked and cold, although the new potatoes were good; they were cold as well. I had the lobster mac and cheese. It was good and had lots of lobster, but the lobster was overcooked. I also had a side of zucchini that was pretty good. The waitress touted their desserts. So we ordered the salted caramel cheesecake. Sounded great, but it was awful. Someone got overzealous with "orange zest" (or something similar). It was almost like eating a sour patch kid. The bitterness completely obliterated the creaminess. I could taste orange for the next three hours. I'd love to say we'll be back. Maybe for a drink or beer someday. Maybe not.

Stopped in for lunch. Sat at the very nice bar and ordered the Portabella sandwich with grilled asparagus. Bar tender was very pleasant to talk with got me everything I needed. The mushroom was huge!,grilled just right and the asparagus was seasoned very good. Sandwich was a little oily butchery good. Will be back for sure.

I am always excited when there is something new in my area! So, I was really excited to try Breakneck. Plus, my bf's golf buddy had been here and gave the joint a solid thumbs up. This is said to be a farm to table restaurant, another plus. We decided to visit on a recent Friday night, making a reservation on open table. This would not have been necessary, the dining room was sparsely populated during our entire visit. We were greeted? by a less then enthusiastic host duo, their faces void of any hint of welcome or smile. We requested and got a booth. We both really liked the interior, industrial ceiling, lots of artsy touches that included silver mesh dividers on the back of the booths to light fixtures that seem to be created out of vintage blue glass insulators and beautiful wooden table tops. Even after the lukewarm greeting, I was really excited now. Our server was fairly attentive. They have a nice list of cocktails, however, I opted for water. The bf got his usual, draft beer. For our meals, the bf ordered The Cajun Blue Crab Pasta. This dish consists of jumbo lump crab, tomatoes, sweet corn, red peppers, linguini pasta served in a Cajun cream sauce. Our server mentioned that is was only mildly spicy, so he requested that they add a little more spice. I ordered the Quinoa and Baby Kale Salad. It included avocado, red onion, orange, candied walnuts with balsamic vinaigrette and opted to add a crab cake on the side. Our bread basket included 3 rolls, a sesame seed covered crescent roll, a braid and a knot. The disappointment was the entrees themselves. The bf's pasta was ridiculously spicy. So bad, it was impossible to taste the other ingredients. As for my salad, one of the main ingredients was avocado and my salad had none. But our server explained that away by saying that the line cook has never worked in a restaurant before, so she must of missed that. Well, that certainly sounds like a good excuse, no? No. Since my bf couldn't finish his fiery pasta and I was missing my avocado, we decided to have dessert. We shared a salted caramel cheesecake and it was good. All in all, not a great experience. Next time, we might try the bar.

I was tempted to give this restaurant two stars based on the food, but our server Valerie was pretty great. I met some friends here for happy hour, which is inside the bar area, but does not extend to the patio. Today was beautiful, so we'd rather sit outside. No biggie. We tried to order the mussels, but the kitchen was already out. Out of product on a Friday night is a chef issue. Mussels are not seasonal, nor a rare item. Ok, fine. So, we ordered the tuna lettuce wraps. Not good. The tuna was sliced thin and seared, with diced carrot and celery, and drenched in a creamy horseradish sauce. The flavors just didn't go well together. At all. Three wraps came out. We ate 1 1/2. We then decided to try the crab dip with pita chips. The pita chips were seriously the best thing about the plate. The dip was ok, but very cream cheesy. The crab topping was tasty. Our drinks were all decent, and our server was excellent, but the food was disappointing. Could have been an off night. Who knows. May give it another chance down the road.

I found the waitress friendly and prompt, the portions while small were very tasty. 3 dollar happy hour crafts. Will definitely stop back

We were excited to go here. It's a cool place with a nice size bar and restaurant. Our waitress recommended Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, but they were mushy and overdone. The trout dinner sounded great on the menu but was minuscule - and the taste was just average. The crab cakes were pretty good with lots of crab and little filler. Service was fair but friendly. The restaurant wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, but it took nearly 2 hours to get our food. No one, including the manager, was concerned or apologetic for the long wait. You don't always have two hours for dinner. In short the atmosphere is cool, the food is average, and the wait time was poor. The restaurant is new so they are probably just getting the kinks figured out. If we ever go back - it will be a long time.

We have been waiting for Breakneck Tavern to finish their remodel and open in the former Good Ole Uncle Bob's. The place looks really good, bar is nicely opened up, screened in outdoor seating on one side and the dining room looks nice with comfy plush booths. The bar stools are cute but quite uncomfortable. Tough to sit in them at the bar for very long. I expect growing pains on any new restaurant and this one clearly has a way to go. The bar menu at this point in time is a miss. The sandwich menu had few choices: salmon blt , mahi Cuban, catfish poboy, crab cake, portobello & grilled cheese. The word 'Tavern' is in the name - this isn't tavern food. My husband asked if they offered a burger and was told it's only offered at lunch. No meat offering at all is a clear miss. We both ordered the Mahi Cuban & both regretted it immediately. Too tall to bite through & after one bite both our plates were swimming in sauce that spilled out. You couldn't get a bite of all the ingredients together because they slid apart so badly and nothing had much flavor on its own. I also ordered a side of Brussel Sprouts for a small upcharge of $2. Some arrived undercooked & a couple were actually cold and all were lacking flavor. The draft list is pretty good with many choices however, the ones included on their happy hour menu are few. Dinner menu has items in the high $20's to mid $30's range. Not sure if Mars is quite the upscale destination to support this. Time will tell. Growing pains here for sure. I look forward to seeing how much they work on this restaurant over the next few months. It has potential.

We were anxious to check out this place and decided to give it a try. First off, it looks nothing like Uncle Bob's and is completely redone on the inside. Large bar area, separate dining area with hostesses (sure not like Uncle Bob's!). We arrived around 4:30 and wanted to sit at the bar and order some sandwiches and some beer. Found out Happy hour starts at 5:00 but we went ahead with ordering from the non-HH menu. OK , here's the good things about Breakneck Tavern. It's not Uncle Bob's. It's an attempt to bring finer dining to the area. The decor looks pretty decent. The bartenders were super friendly and attentive. They have a good craft beer list. The bad? The bar stools are hideous. Slanted backs that push you forward, very hard and supremely uncomfortable. I would not be able to sit there and drink more than one beer without writhing in pain. The menu. I wanted bar food, sandwiches, wings, anything a typical bar would offer. There are no wings, no chicken sandwiches, and get this, NO BURGERS ON THE MENU! I asked. Nope. We only have burgers at lunch. Really? How can you not have burgers? The sandwich offerings were salmon, a mahi Cuban, a catfish Po Boy, grilled cheese, and a grilled portobello. Not one meat dish there. I tried the Mahi Cuban and would not recommend it. I thought it didn't have much taste and was incredibly messy. The entrees looked decent and ranged from leg of lamb, skirt steak, to bone-in rib eye with prices in the $25-$29 range. Seems steep but maybe they are superb. I don't want to sit at the bar and eat leg of lamb or filet mignon. I would love the option of a burger. Or some wings. Bar food. My advice? Get a bar menu. Cook me a burger. I know they're feeling their way. I'm being optimistic giving them three stars and do so in the hopes that they'll fix things. They have a few to work on. Right now I'm having fond memories of Good Old Uncle Bob's......

I was really excited to try this place. It looks very welcoming from the outside and I checked out the menu online, which looks great! I came here with 2 others for dinner and we were seated right away. The interior is awesome. I love the colors and all the windows make for a bright dinning room. The bar area also looked very nice and I really liked the open concept they had going on. Service was good as far as our waitress checking on us and getting us re-fills. I wanted a black cherry cider beer, but unfortunately they had run out of it. No biggie! I asked for another recommendation of a fruity beer and ended up going with Fat Head's beer. We ordered the pork belly sliders for an appetizer which were really good. Super spicy, but I don't mine that! I had a salad and soup for dinner. My soup was the beer cheese soup and it came topped with popcorn! Cute touch. It was alright, needed some more flavor but it wasn't too bad. My salad came out and it looked delicious! Fresh grilled chicken on top made it just right. I tried the lemon cilantro dressing and at first I liked it, but then I couldn't get away from the overwhelming taste of salt. It was too much. My friend agreed that the dressing was super salty, and her burger was also very salty. So next time, hopefully they are a little less heavy handed on the salt! I will be trying Breakneck again as they had just recently opened when I went and I think they will only get better over time. Their menu is unique, quality, and fresh!

Great service. Friendly people. Awesome food. Comfortable setting in the dinning area. Bar looks good but didn't sit in that side. All they need is background music because is can sound echoey and more booths.

Went there for lunch first time just heard they had opened. Ordered Martha's Vineyard Baby butter lettuce, Blue Cheese, Shaved Red Onion, Toasted Pine Nuts, strawberries & Raspberry Vinaigrette Ok it had lettuce but arcadia lettuce looked like a lot, BUT only had two marble sized hunks of blue cheese, maybe one strawberry sliced, some pine nuts and a small serving of a very thick raspberry vinaigrette. Mostly lettuce asked for more dressing as one did not cover all the lettuce and when I got my bill at the end there was a charge of 50 cents for the small container of dressing that was extra. My bf ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup both were very good HOWEVER the fries were limp and wimpy not crisp as I would have expected. Also by ordering the salad I though bread or crackers on the side would have been nice. But I will probably not go back as I looked at the dinner menu and the prices were a la carte just two sides they were in the 20-40 dollar ranges...no soup no salad... Much more expensive for what you get if you compare to Table 86 in Cranberry. The interior was done nicely but the food I would rate a C at best

Great place, probably had my 2 best meals in a long time. The Blue Crab in a cajun alfredo sauce was awesome, tons of seafood with corn and red peppers. The Salmon was cooked to perfection with a nice pepper taste. Great Beer Selection at a good price. The only suggestion I have is the menu is heavy on seafood(not a problem for me) but my friends who don't thought the menu was limited for them. Could have a couple more appetizers for those who are just having a beer. It is new and Im sure they will figure it out

I can't believe the average reviews. My wife and I recently ate there and had great meals. Both meals were excellent and well presented. If any, the food doesn't match the ambience. We sat on the bar side which was noisy. My guess is the dining side is less noisy. If so, I would recommend the noise be reduced to give the food the dining experience it deserves. Hats off to the chef who knows how to cook and present a fine meal.

This place just opened, within the past 10 days. We had wanted something different than the 7 Fields, Cranberry food. This place was Uncle Bob's, anyhow, it has a new name. Nice place and nice interior. The bar was not full, but, at least 15-20 patrons. A lot of Beer on tap. Decent selection, I did not have any. Looking at the menu it offers Appetizers, Sandwiches, Burgers, and a Seasonal selection. We sat at the bar and my colleagues ordered a couple beers. The bartender/ waitress seemed busy. One colleague did not get the beer he ordered, not a deal breaker. Placed our order, I got the seasonal Shrimp and Grits. It took at least 35 minutes to get our food. We had time, so we didn't complain. Although, I thought the Shrimp and Grits was a little under seasoned(not spicy enough). It was good. I would like to say, this place has potential to succeed. Lots of businesses in this area. It seemed a little understaffed, The bartender/waitress was running all over the place. She was waiting tables and serving drinks. The kitchen was slow. All in all it was not a bad experience. Will I be back, sure. I hope they work out the service issues and get more help.

This place is quite the change from Good Ole Uncle Bob's! It has been beautifully renovated with an up to date industrial decor look. The menu is fairly extensive and all the food sounded good. We were seated right away and promptly brought water and bread for the table. We ordered the Roasted Brussel Sprouts appetizer and they were delicious. Our food came out shortly after and we were pleased. I ordered the Quinoa and Kale Salad which was decent although I think it was actually a mix of kale and spinach. My mom ordered the Martha's Vineyard Salad and downed the whole thing so she must have enjoyed it. We also shared the Margherita flatbread but it was disappointing. It was basically pizza sauce with lumps of mozarella and it was definitely undercooked. No crispy crust whatsoever. We were having a pretty good experience until our waiter forgot about us and we were left sitting at our table completely done for about 15 minutes. We finally had to flag down the hostess to find him so we could get boxes and our check. We probably would have sampled a dessert had he been more attentive but after waiting a solid 20 minutes, we were just ready to get out of there. Overall, the food was decent for the prices. I'd go back to sample some other menu items as a lot of the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious.

I wanted so much to like this place! It's close to home and they really put a lot of work in to the place. However, I think they missed the mark for me. I was hoping for a place with a great pub menu and unique drafts, and they really didn't pull it off. They have an interesting dinner menu if you're inclined to order entrees. Maybe if they expand the pub menu, I'll give it a try again. I just wanted something simple where I could grab an interesting draft from time to time.

Well priced beers and fabulous homemade desserts! Very happy with the burgers at lunch and the sandwiches and salads. The dressings are great like the lemon truffle and the ranch, all made here. Don't miss the dessert, also made here, really outstandingly delish and big enough to share! Love that they take reservations and are locally owned. Considering that the Applebee's gets 3 stars around here this definitely deserves at least 4.

Overpriced, below average food. They need to have a pub menu as well as a fine dining menu. I tried the $30 steak, blah. Springfield Grille is much better. I've tried the buffalo burger (bland) as well. Very disappointing. Happy Hour has like 3 run of the mill beers on special while the rest is $6-10 which is crazy for Mars. I think they missed the mark for their market and with the competition so much better and so close by they are going to struggle. First thing to do is get a new chef that can cook. Next adjust your drink prices and have a real happy hour to draw folks in. I am hoping things get ironed out and this place succeeds cause I like the atmosphere but it doesn't look good. Did I mention it is overpriced???

So excited to have this new restaurant so close to home!! The area lacks for many places to get a GOOD meal. Not anymore. Breakneck tavern was excellent this evening when my husband and I had dinner there for the first time. The first thing we noticed was that the renovations were impressive. The former restaurant/ bar was desperately in need of a facelift and if was more than provided. It looks amazing inside. This is a totally different kind of establishment than the previous one. The beer list is extensive and top notch. The service was attentive and friendly. I ordered the filet which came with your choice of two sides. I chose asparagus and whipped potatoes which were well seasoned and ample. The steak was cooked to perfection and was a nice size. My husband had the Cajun pasta and he raved about it. I am shocked by some 3 star reviews on here that complain there was not enough 'bar food.' (Wings were an appetizer, I believe). There are plenty of places around to get fried, greasy bar food. This place serves real, good food in addition to great beers. This may very well become our new go- to restaurant!!
