The waitress was extremely polite and courteous. The service though was extremely slow and I had to wait for my drink for about 15 to 20 minutes. The food is decent, not the best but not the worst. I can definitely say that nearby Italian places are a lot better than this one was food wise. So not too bad but not the best either, and definitely not my first choice for an Italian place.

Ruined my party! 3 pizzas all undercooked 1 was raw dough! They're junk. Eat at Joe's!

Italiano Delite is a great Italian restaurant. The highlight of the place is their Pizza. It is so good that the restaurant was originally called just Pizza Delite. The crust is just the right amount of thickness and doughy-ness. They have a large selection of pizza but their chesse is to die for alone. They have great subs and pasta as well. The family that runs it is great and is always welcoming though the servers vary in their attentiveness. Italiano Delite also has an amazing lunch buffet for only $7.50. There is usually pretty good variety and it won't leave you hungry. This is Italiano Delite's original location and has been there for over 15 years. I don't like it as much as the new one even though I've been going there for years. There is nothing wrong and there is lots of nice murals on the walls but it doesn't have the same feeling as the new one. This location also has a Rita's like Italian Ice thing attached to it but the Italian Ice is not very good. I must say they usually are one of the quickest places you can get takeout from.

We've ordered from here many times, ..but only the pizza or the pizza family mega meal with wings and knots. .... recently I have come to hear about a roach found in a friends turkey hero that has turned me off to this place indefinably now, .....however I have my own issues with Italian Delight. One day along with my pizza order my father asked me to get him Meatballs and spaghetti. ( He has dentures and trouble to chew ) So I asked them how much for a dinner plate to go of meatballs and spaghetti. I was told $14.00 which I felt was kind of high, .but I ordered it. When I picked it up,.. I opened the take out dish in front of them just to see it, .... inside was almost a pound of spaghetti and two tiny little meatballs!!! I asked the girl why only two meatballs, and I got a kind of rude answer, .."that's just what they give you!!!" .... I felt that for $14.00 there should have been at least 4 meatballs and maybe a half pound of pasta, ... it made no sense to me, ..and both my farther and I were disappointed in the serving. Additionally we didn't feel it was even cooked that well, ... too much sauce and pasta, and the sauce tasted like it was canned or sitting out for a while. ...the dish was hardly warm. I was a good customer for years with them because we ordered only pizza...but after the bug thing and this, ... I have come to the conclusion that the owner is losing his grip on quality and care of his product. It's a shame because it seems like they have money to expand,..... building a new restaurant in Emmaus recently and a new outdoor dining extension in Macungie, I understand from others that they own a number of other buildings, rentals, and investments that should have them capable of affording the right ingredients, employee's and care of their facility. Is it just laziness?.... or carelessness? or ignorance? .. I don't know, ..but it seems like I am in a desperate search for the right pizza place in Macungie. For now, .. it's back to Ammerattas.

Had sandwich for lunch which was OK. Went back few weeks later for pizza for dinner. Ordered the "gourmet" pizzas. Way over priced and not worth the price they charge. Will not return for pizza. , not good crust or toppings. Many people were ordering the buffet which is priced at $10 for dinner.

Service is often terrible but they have some of the best pizza around. We do carryout if anything because sitting in the dining room can be unpleasant. Once a couple years ago we waited FOREVER to get seated then got ignored for a good 15 minutes once we were seated while the waitress helped people who just got there. We then finally left. But like I said, their pizza is great. The woman who usually takes phone orders is one of the owners and is very sweet. They have a little window for ice cream and gelato which is nice, but there's usually nobody working it, so be prepared to wait awhile.

If I hadn't gotten sick from my last time eating here, I would have given them somewhere between 2-3 stars.

I was here for the lunch buffet. There was certainly plenty to eat. The best selections were the meatballs and the seafood with pasta. Veal and chicken parm were bland and plastered with cheese.

Did we eat at the same place? I don't understand how anyone could give this place more than 2 stars. Unless they have lost their sense of taste or enjoy overly salted, low quality "Italian" food. We ate here tonight only because we weren't familiar with the area, we needed a toddler-friendly casual restaurant and our first choice Gio Grill was closed. Two Seniors in our party had the buffet, which looked completely unappetizing to me & my husband, especially the salad greens that were limp and wilted. We decided to play it safe and not order any meat. My husband ordered a grilled eggplant & veggie panini and I ordered a vegetable stromboli and Italian wedding soup. Dishes that should be hard to screw up, right? Wrong. The Italian wedding soup was so unbelievably salty that it literally made my tongue feel itchy. The garlic in the soup was raw, as well as the diced red bell pepper. I picked out the little meatballs, so I can't speak to how they tasted. It took about a half hour to get the "panini" and "Stromboli.". The place was practically empty. There was one table of 4 Seniors and another table of 2 Seniors. So why it would take that long to make a stromboli and panini is beyond me. The veggie "stromboli" was actually a humongous calzone. So if If you don't know the difference between a panini and hoagie, a Stromboli and calzone, and if you're a quantity over quality kind of person than this might be the place for you. As I cut into the "Stromboli", the (canned?) tomato sauce ran out like a soup. It was so watery which made the "Stromboli" soggy. The mushrooms were definitely from a can. Overly salty is an understatement. My husband's grilled eggplant panini ended up being a deep fried eggplant hoagie with some sundried tomatoes and melted cheese on it that looked like it had been popped into the microwave. I swear to God even the hoagie bread was super salty. What is with this place and its love of the salt shaker? My husband took one bite of his sandwich and that was it. It was absolutely disgusting and greasy. My "stromboli" wasn't entirely inedible, but it wasn't decent either. We ate about 1/4 of it between the two of us and that was it. Seriously the cook doesn't know the difference between a panini & hoagie and a Stromboli & calzone. What kind of "Italian" place is this?? I tasted my toddler's baked ziti from the buffet and the sauce legitimately tasted like Chef Boyardee's spaghettios (something I haven't eaten since I was probably 10). The sauce is not authentic at all. We didn't take any of our tons of leftovers home. We also didn't complain and were very pleasant to the waitress. It's not her fault after all she's not the cook, plus we really didn't feel like being there any longer and complaining would likely have made our stay longer and uncomfortable. That being said our waitress was very nice and attentive. If you are on a limited income and your sense of taste is fading then this place is perfect for you. Though the amount of salt in the food won't be good for those on blood pressure medication or water pills. They do have huge portions and low prices. However, if you have a palate at all, not just for good Italian food but for good food in general, you will find this place inferior to say the least. And don't even get me started on the tacky decor, inside and outside. Mama Mia!

This place is OK, nothing special. Carryout on a Friday night ends up taking a really long time. Eating in has been hit and miss, we waited 45min for 2 standard menu dishes and they were clearly not made the best. The person who described the pizza as undercooked is spot on, always ask for crispy or well done and it will improve your quality. Fortunately for them, they are one of the few italian places in the area, makes for some good business. I keep hoping someone else will open a good place with better food.

I and 3 other people ate in last Saturday evening, 4/4/2015. I thought my meal was decent and there were no complaints from the others concerning theirs. Service was good and friendly. My complaint concerns our bill. We dined using a Groupon certificate. An automatic 20% tip was included on the bill. I thought it was automatically added because we used Groupon. I had looked over the terms of the certificate, beforehand, and I had not seen anywhere that indicated an automatic tip would be added. I gave the place the benefit of the doubt that maybe I had missed it in the fine print. The next day I viewed the Groupon certificate (you are able to view the voucher because the voucher remains in your account (for viewing). I read all the rules for using the voucher and I still did not see anything about an automatic tip. I went a step further. I e-mailed Groupon about my concern. They replied with "all rules can be read under Terms of Use". I answered back saying that they did not answer my question and would they please tell me, specifically, the words and under what rule the automatic tip is mentioned. They replied and still could not cite the rule. They refunded my cost for the voucher. I believe in tipping for good service and we are responsible enough to know how much to tip. No one needs to put an automatic tip on a bill. I told Groupon this and suggested that they inform Italiano Delite that the practice of automatic tipping (with a Groupon voucher) be stopped if it cannot be cited anywhere in the rules. And if it is in the rules (and I don't believe that it is since I, specifically, asked Groupon to show me and they didn't)but if it IS in the rules then it should be more prominently displayed.

Very upset. A friend and I decided to get food delivered for dinner tonight from Italiano delight and were very excited when it arrived the driver was very nice, but we were extremely disappointed when we found bugs crawling all over the box in which they delivered the food. All of the food looked great, but it's hard to get your appetite back once you see bugs crawling over your box of food. Unfortunately it turned out to be a waste of 50 bucks.

Weird place with an identity crisis. They don't know what they want to be. Sports bar, ice cream shop or restaurant. Well they are going for all three. I had the pizza it was good. A little greasy but a solid 3 star. Where they lose points is in the management of this place. My bill had a 20% gratuity added already. I ate alone. (I was playing bar poker here) which was a shame because 1. That was never mentioned or advertised 2. My server was excellent and deserved more. So mister manager (I hope you are reading this) get your act together you are only hurting your employees. I did tip her more on my own accord. So this place has a great looking patio, statues everywhere yet they can't afford .20 for outlet covers in the back room or to fix the lock on the men's room. If cost cutting is done where it's visible to the guests I can only imagine what it's like in the kitchen. If I were to go here again it would only be to get pizza to go. I will never dine in here.

I used to like this place a few years ago, always had pretty good pasta dishes, although seafood ones were on the pricy side, I was willing to pay since the portions were large. Recently, it seems quality has consistently gone downhill. I placed quite a few orders for delivery because they were on GrubHub and one of few places that delivered to my apartment. Items were forgotten from my orders, and the food taste and quality just got worse and worse. I really used to like Italiano Delite, but now I will not go there again unless there is a big change for the better.

Tonight, I brought my daughters out to sit on their patio, we had a simple order, one large pizza, garlic knots, pitcher of soda, and a stella. The waiter was pleasant, but did not bring plates, or napkins, we had to ask him for those. When the Pizza came out it was just reheated after sitting, it was not made fresh, it was cold, oily and not even cut through. I am not sure how the manager thought it was acceptable to bring old oily pizza to our table and try to serve it to us... I did complain to the owner, and he offered to make a new pie, but at this point we were so disappointed we just wanted to pay and leave. The place was empty at seven o'clock so I am not sure what was the issue with making a fresh pizza. When I asked the owner, he said he was busy and he was sorry, so he just reheated it. We could not eat one slice it was horrible, and believe me I am not picky. Very disappointing, save your money and go to Mamma's on Route 100 MUCH better delicious Pizza not like the crap they tried to serve us... OH and they did not take it off of our bill either, we paid for the full amount of our order, which we left there unable to eat. Thanks Italiano Delite, we will not be back!

Went before reading the reviews.....big mistake. The first clue should of been no cars in the lot. Service was very slow for no one else being there. Food was mediocre at best. Bought a Groupon as we pulled in the lot. We got two sandwiches a child's meal and a slice of pizza. Looked at the bill and they added gratuity to the bill twice for a party of four and then argued about that it was right. Don't waste your time would never go back again.

Really enjoyed our trip here - prices are reasonable, and I wouldn't expect 5-star service. Our waitress was efficient, checked in on us fairly regularly...and our glasses were never empty. Menu is pretty diverse, I mean, it's all Italian food...but they have everything from pizza to salad to pasta to other Italian dishes. I ordered a pizza and my husband had a pasta special. Both were TONS of food - we left with enough food for two more meals each. The pizza was fresh, the cheese melty and the ingredients just tasted really clean. Loved the thinner, chewy crust that was especially thin and crispy in spots. YUM. My husband's pasta came out STEAMING hot. You could see the steam pouring off of it. He had the carbonara and it was really good. Sometimes you order carbonara and it's so rich that you can't eat more than a few bites. This one was good because it had all the flavor without the overly-heavy feel. They put peas in it, which I hadn't seen before, but was good nonetheless. I had to steal a bite. I will definitely go back here again. We went earlier on in the evening (I'm pregnant and get hungry early) and by the time we left the place was pretty packed. Casual atmosphere, good service, solid food and they serve wine/beer. I think they had a bar in the back, but I really wasn't paying attention since I can't drink right now. :( We will go back! Want to try the takeout window and ice cream/gelato stand in the summer.

Had a very negative take-out experience, and unfortunately will not be returning. Girl taking order on the phone was not knowledgable about the menu (when asked how many oz the soup cup was, she said "about medium-sized") and I had to repeat my very simple order many, many times. Then, when I went to pick up the food, the man at the counter made me feel very uncomfortable-he was yelling at a young girl regarding the way the money was facing in the cash register. My order was wrong, and three different prices were given to me-one on the phone, another shown on the register, and then when I questioned the difference in price she said "oh," pressed a few keys, and the priced dropped. The receipt was not itemized. A bit shady, if you ask me. As if this experience wasn't already bad enough, the food was terrible. My chicken Francaise was tasteless, lacked the egg wash, and had mushrooms for some reason. I asked for a side of linguini Alfredo, and instead was given an enormous amount of spaghetti with about a tablespoon of what was, I'm assuming, pomodoro...but tasted more like tomato paste. I was left wondering how they have stayed in business for so long...

Not sure about all the bad reviews. We order pizza from here all the time. They have excellent dinner deals and a buffet that is well worth the price. Not a bad local restaurant.

They now have a beautiful patio on the back side of the restaurant. And now I've found the real highlight of this place...ices, ice cream & gelato! I think it's the best bargain in the Valley for ice cream. Their small is $1.95, and it was more than I could eat. You can't beat that for homemade ice cream. There are a few nice benches to eat your ice cream on. We'll be back to try dinner on the terrace some night soon.

Dined here the other night. It's your basic no frills Italian restaurant with an above average size menu. If you've ever been in a family run Italian restaurant/pizzeria then you know what to expect from the decor. The food is a little pricey for such a run-of-the-mill pizza place but they do give you obscene portions. I mean, we're talking the entrees are large enough to easily feed 3 people and no, I'm not exaggerating. Sadly the portion size is the only thing worth bragging about because the food is pretty much on par with cafeteria/buffet food in terms of taste. Some people may not mind this (the more bang for your buck crowd) but I personally would rather have a really tasty dish served in a smaller portion than one whose only boast is sheer size and doesn't taste nearly as good as something I could easily make at home and no, I'm not Italian. After all, isn't that the reason you go out to eat? Our server was attentive and competent but was cold as a cucumber. At least the older woman who first greeted us was warm and friendly. Bottom line, unless you're into huge portions and lackluster food you can skip it.

We had the loveliest waitress ever at this place and she treated us like family by making sure we all had enough to eat and bringing extra appetizers and desserts for us (all were gratis). The food portions at this place are very generous and certainly more than enough for two meals. And it's not one of those places that give you a lot of pasta and sauce with hardly any meat. Be warned that they are very generous with the meat/seafood in the dishes. On our way out, we were given coupons as well to use next time. The food was delicious and the atmosphere, while casual, was very relaxing (they had easy listening/elevator type music playing) and after such a hearty meal, a nap was in order.

We ate there for the first time. The salads were fresh. The eggplant parm was really good, not dripping with oil like many places. Could have had a little more eggplant on the bread. It was tasty. Service was good. Surprised they did not have decaf coffee???? We will try their dinner buffet next time. It did look fresh.

Definitely not worth the price they charge for entrees. Ravioli was frozen and the sauce tasted like it was from a can. Service was good but I wouldn't recommend this place.

This place SUCKS!!! Stay away! Pizza is usually overcooked, burnt and dried out. The owners are usually always bickering. They don't treat you that great either. Ordered a pizza on the phone for pickup and arrived early because i was already on the way. They had it ready when I got there. I thought to myself how could this possibly be done? Well what they did was give me someone else's ice cold pizza that was never picked up. I was so annoyed when I got home to cold pizza. One day we ate in and got a Stromboli.overcooked and burnt rock hard crust. Then they used onions and green peppers which sound good but they don't know how to prepare food. They where diced huge chunks which where raw and had a strong taste. Had they sliced them thin, they would have cooked properly and been soft and delicious. The inside decor is that gawdy cold Italian look with statues and weird paintings. Update: My sister bought a cheesesteak that was completely soggy. Pierogies where burnt, and ice cold. They only live 2 minutes away. I warned her. Told her next time to take it back and not put up with their crap. Terrible food! I would go to penn pizza near Walmart in trexler town instead

We had unexpected quests over from out of town. We thought we get some food from a nearby pizza place. They arrived on time but forgot one of my cousins sandwiches. We called and it took an hour and 15 minutes later to be delivered. We were going to go pick it up but they said it would here within minutes. LOL!! I guess I should have asked how many. Good was decent but not spectacular. We usually go to NY Stromboli on 17th street in Allentown but like I said, this place was close to home.

Will never go to this site again!! We were regulars on Fridays. Pizza, wings, etc. Three times in a row, our wings were not cooked through. The third time, we took them back and only got attitude for our trouble. Also, I called in an order:wings and a large pizza, plain. My husband goes to pick it up and comes home with two pizzas and an order of wings. I asked him why 2 pizzas. He said the woman insisted I had called back and ordered the second pizza. I called the shop and did get the older woman who insisted I added to my order. I explained the situation and she again insisted I called a second pizza in. (I should explain, they do not take names or give order numbers). I told her I had not called and ordered a second pizza and she was rude to insist my husband pay for and take it. I asked her why she thought it was me who called. She said I called right back to add it on. Obviously, it was someone before I called. She would not admit she made a mistake. We have never gone again. This family does not care about their customers. We know many of our neighbors and friends do not go there anymore either because of bad service & food. Try the one in Emmaus if you must go to an Italian Delight. I hear they are somewhat better.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
